I had used Cannock Gates many years ago and was very pleased with service so did not hesitate to contact them again when I decided to move my existing gates.
Delivery service threw my posts onto a neighbours front garden and didn't bother to get anyone to sign for them (at which point they would have realised their mistake). I had to get helpful neighbour to cart the very heavy posts up the lane to my property.
Posts also came without all necessary fixtures I needed to complete the job despite me ringing their helpline prior to ordering and explaining in depth about what I was planning on doing.
When I rang to complain their customer service is appalling, pretty much calling me a liar and then offering a pittance of a "goodwill" gesture despite them cocking up everything from advice to delivery. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE ANY CUSTOMERS, AVOID UNLESS YOU WISH TO BE INSULTED BY THEIR APPALLING AND TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMERS SERVICE.
Update : I even had to chase the "goodwill" payment that Cannock Gates offered. Another blinding lack of customer care.
Cannock used to be a great company but not so now. Customer service is useless and ineffectual. They tried to deliver my order (gates) when I was at work (no notice), then had to wait ages for a re-delivery. Never called me back - never investigated the problem. In the end I got a decent employee and got the gates delivered.
But their gates are no longer treated, so more work for me. Their ironwork also needs treating by me. And the gates were not perfect condition. Now I will have to go back to them if I need more fobs for the gate, which the electrician they supplied said was virtually impossible for me to programme as it was all done on a circuit board.
Their sub contractor was appalling.
I have joined especially to write a review of this company in order to warn others about just how bad they are.
All we were trying to do was buy a gate and two posts. They kept sending us parts that did not fit together. The gates they sent did not fit the posts.
After 4 months of receiving and storing and returning and wrapping and unwrapping useless lump of metal after useless lump of metal , and hours on the phone to the customer service people, we decided to cancel the whole thing and send it all back.
We got a refund on the gates but are down the original delivery charge, and have had to spend 4 months with the house not secured properly and not able to let out children into the garden.
The whole thing was so utterly hopeless that by the end it was a case of if you don't laugh you'll start crying and never stop. I cannot say strongly enough how utterly useless this company are.
