You always take a chance when you order from a site that you are not familiar with. But in this case it was definatley a chance worth taking. Not only was the product a fantastic deal but l was kept well informed all throughout the buying/delivery process. My item was delivered as promised on time and I am highly delighted with such a fantastic service. Well done Car Audio Centre!
I was blown away by what I got in this kit. For a small amount more than the cost of resetting the stock standard radio (after some goon entered the code incorrectly too many times) I got a nicer head unit, handsfree (which was a doddle to fit) and so many options for playback (radio, CD, USB, SD, bluetooth) I'm spoiled for choice.
A really worthwhile purchase.
Whereas I don't have a direct problem with Car Audio Centre I do have a problem with the selected carrier. The carrier refused to leave my goods on two occasions as I was not present at my address. As a working person, a person who works unsocial hours and long ones I leave specific instructions about packages and where to leave them, on both deliveries this was ignored. On contact with ipost the carrier the first time the person who took the call was decidedly indifferent, suggested I drove to Milton Keynes to the carriers depot 42 miles away and then put the phone down on me when I told the person that he wasn't being helpful. The second occasion I spoke a young lady who at least was helpful and delivery was rearranged for Thursday of this week after 2:30pm.. the package arrived today Wednesday, fortunately I was in but hadn't expected to be.
All I can say is there must be better ways of delivering a package rather than use an intransigent carrier with no notion or care of reality... Try using the post office, there is a sorting office in most towns and it is a much better experience.
Right from finding my radio online to having it fitted, a first class service. I asked first what else I would need in order to fit my Kenwood radio to my Vauxhall Corsa and received a reply within the hour, then ordered completely hassle-free through the site. My local garage fitted it for me but I found I had a problem and phoned the Manchester store directly (phone the store direct or email via the online form rather than paying the rather expensive customer service number!). Mike at the store could not have been more helpful and I was sorted out within ten minutes of arriving at their Manchester premises. I would highly recommend them - friendly and informative service, well worth visiting (I would go direct to store next time rather than online)
I ordered brand new Road Angel Gem , they sent me used one + missing parts inside, returned back waiting more like one week to get new one!!!
Emailed and checked that the replacement cd player i was ordering was a straight swap/fix. Assured it was so purchased. First prob. came when Car Audio insisted it was dispatched but heg parcel Co. insisted it was NOT.
Car Audi ignored emails, unavailable on phone.
Eventually got through by phone, told not despatched as awaiting final parts -why then email me saying it was with a tracking no ?
Finally arrived, problem it is compatible BUT in order to use it needs a (large dia) cable running from boot to console as uses non vehicle std din connections cannot not use existing cable. To be fair spoke to Car Audio fitters (none local) who very helpful, said its not that difficult, again a but, am still trying to get sensible quote from local fitters for doing it, they all say it IS a big job.
I ordered a stereo after being convinced by the salesman on the telephone that the fitment of the stereo to my car (Reg, make, model, year provided) could easily be done by myself with a simple purchase of a harness.
The incorrect parts arrived and after further investigation it proved to be the wrong parts and more than a simple wiring harness was needed that required a more skilled individual than i had been convinced of to fit it.
The after sales service was nothing short of apathetic and a complete refusal to admit Any wrong doing with absolutely no care about the customer. A send it back then attitude, no apology, no customer service skills and as already mentioned incompetent technical advice.
I will never use this company again and certainly have recommended never using this company to my other car owner friends.
I purchased a subwoofer as a birthday gift for my partner and a google search found Car Audio Centre to be the least expensive for the particular one I wanted, and the postage was free :-)
To be honest the website is a bit shoddy and a voice at the back of my head was worried I had just made a payment to some unscrupulous sorts bank account. However, I took the plunge vowing to write a stern letter to Watchdog if there was any funny business.
Whaddyaknow, the subwoofer arrived the very next day! Nicely packaged and from what I can remember there was tracking updates available.
There was a reciept included in the box but I have no need to refer to it as all is well.
My partner was a very happy chap on his birthday and now has swanky subwoofer in his car that will never be used as he always has our kids in the car :-)
Would and no doubt certainly will be using Car Audio Centre again and I can honestly say it was a trouble free transaction.
The product I bought from Car Audio Centre was poor quality and wasn't even close to being as described - the marketing material significantly inflated it and made it out to be something that it wasn't. It was delivered 11 weeks after I ordered it, with only 1 update received during that time. I returned it for a refund which, after several weeks, I noticed still hadn't been processed. I had to phone and e-mail multiple times to chase this up and, when the refund was put through, it was for the wrong amount. Cue even more chasing, ultimately without any result. There were a string of broken promises from Car Audio Centre along the way - I would phone them and speak to someone who would promise that they would go over to the refunds department and arrange the refund, but then nothing would happen. Or I'd phone them and be told that my refund and had "now been authorised" but, again, nothing would happen. Or my e-mails would go completely unanswered, even though they were to a named person who I'd spoken with on the phone. On top of this, the product had taken over 2 months to arrive, with just one update received during that time. All-in-all, a very poor experience - based on my experience, Car Audio Centre genuinely doesn't seem to care about its customers.
Ordered a stereo and fascia kit for a new car I've bought and was initially very pleased with the technical advice, products offered and speed of delivery. However they have sent me a fascia for a LHD car and despite several phone calls (never returned) and two emails (ignored) I am over a week on still no nearer to having my stereo fitted. They so far have been utterly hopeless, their stag aside from one guy are totally laconic and disinterested and I wish I'd seem these reviews before using them and not the glowing praise and awards on their web site, ive been suckered and I'm not pleased.
Well eventually got the fascia plate, it's rubbish, not a great match and the tags needed filing to fit, but hey at least I got it. Not worth £42!!!' A total rip off. And they sent the wrong aerial booster adapter!. Stereo fitted and after about a week it died. Emails them again for advise and as usual no response so in the end I did a return on the radio after re connecting my old unit which works to see if it was the car or new radio. I emailed asking about the connects2 harness but was again ignored so I tested it with a 12v tester and it worked so I only sent the radio. In hind site I should have sent the whole lot back. Anyway after a few days I get an email to say the radio works after a 16hour bench test. How!!!!!!. I rang them and even though they emailed me this morning they are closed till 3:30!. I can see this is go Ing to escalate. I recall somewhere a £35 charge if your return an item that's proved to work but maybe if they actually gave support I'd had been able to better diagnose the issue. I guess they have my potentially dead (only have their word for it) stereo for ransom. Really annoyed and seriously maybe the odd customer manages to get a good service but I think that is luck. Go local it even halfords.
I ordered a pair of speakers within an hour I realised I had ordered the wrong ones and emailed to cancel two days later I get a email saying the speakers have been shipped, eighteen minutes later I get an email saying they cannot cancel the order as they had been shipped.
A week later the speakers arrive and they are completely different that the ones I ordered.
I was looking for a basic economical replacement stereo unit with a cd player for my motorhome with a remote control unit included that would be simple to use, I searched through Ebay and Amazon but could not feel certain I would order the right thing, I rang the Car Audio Centre and explained what I was looking for, I was recommended the
In Phase IPS 620sd which with delivery charges came to a total of £59.58 which an Ebay and Amazon search could not match .
The stereo arrived two days later, not only did it meet all my requirements of a simple to use stereo cd with a remote control but also included an sd card input which I have now found most useful, the specifications and the function for the price far exceed my expectations this included with the good advice given and promt service has earned a full five stars for my personal review of my purchase experience.
This company is a joke as i have tried to resolve issues with some faulty items i purchased and got nowhere. The websites feedback if you look is outstandingly good which is all a false pretense as i have tried to leave 2 lots of negative feedback and a week later it has not been listed.
My advice is read reviews elsewhere as there site feedback is a pack of lies and only companies who can not be trusted hide behind false feedback!
I took my car in for repair of a non functioning speakers in Birmingham originally installed 3 years previously. The charged me for the repair saying that there was degraded wiring and they had fixed the fault by installing a small patch length of cable between dashboard and speaker. After one week the fault returned intermittently then constantly after 2 weeks. They booked me in for a repair, made me wait for 2 hours and then said that they were unable to do it because they were working on another customer's car which they'd overbooked on top of my appointment that morning. I complained to them. Took the car home in anger and opened up all the panelling and dashboard myself as per instructions on youtube. I checked the entire speaker wiring from the head unit harness to to the speakers, crossovers and tweeter. The speaker wiring was still the original installation wiring from 3 years ago. Basically there was a rusted connection which I located and repaired myself after 2 hours of diagnostics. There was no new patch wiring as they had stated. Very unprofessional. They'd basically lied to me. Fine if you're on a very tight budget and don't know any better I suppose. Also probably OK for mail order and if you're buying retail from shop. Hate being lied to. There are way better installers though such as Covics in Coventry
similar poor experience to others who have received a faulty item..
Firstly I placed an order via the website for a fasica plate and head unit and heard nothing for a week then I rang up to find out that one of the items wasn't available so was offered and alternative head unit...fine I agreed.
The order then arrived 2 days later but due to no protective packaging the fascia plate had been crushed in the post this was then returned (at my cost) and again nothing for over a week....so after spending £2.50 on postage I now face ringing the 75p a minute returns helpline to find out whats going on...for a £6 item...which is just not worth it.
Be warned, if anythings wrong it will cost you...possibly more then your order to resolve

I rang and spoke for advice as wanted to order a parrot system and lead for a Mazda 2 items came quick but the wrong connection lead (the one they advised) was sent
You have to send back at your own cost and wait to be refunded
I then had to pay for another lead which after being advised was the correct one was again totally the wrong item so had to send a second lead back at my cost bear in mind no refund on the postage is offered
After speaking to them the third time they offered to send the correct lead for free well guess what it never showed
Would never use and could not reccomend
Car Audio Centre provided an excellent service when I ordered by InPhase IPS-249BT when it was on sale. When I say Sale I mean, wow that's damn cheap sale. Unfortunately I accidently sent it to the wrong address (2 instead of 4) but I rang them up the told me what address I sent it to and if there was a problem at the post office they would help me out with getting it to me. I fortunately got the red slip from no 2 and received the item no problems. The product was well packed and arrived in 2 days after ordering. I would definatly use them again when I need anything else for my car.
Thanks Car Audio Centre.
I was looking for an all round solution to my in car entertainment and came across the Clarion VZ409 7" screen DVD player on the website which had been reduced down to £184.00, much lower than anywhere else, so I went over to see try product at the Birmingham branch, before ordering just to confirm the amazing price.
I purchased an Alpine Bluetooth Head Unit from this company, and I had no issues whatsoever. The item arrived extremely quickly and was very well packaged. I also received plenty of updates via email to tell me when the item had been dispatched and also included a tracking number. I was extremely pleased with the excellent price and service that I got, that I made a second order for speaker cables and also Head Unit removal keys. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to a friend.
Bought the RAC parking sensor from this company via Groupon.
They said it's easy to fit, but then admit it will take 2.5 hrs labour by them.
My Audi garage thought they could fit it in an hour, but of course they couldn't, so it's a complete waste of money.
Tried emailing their complaints department, but absolutely no response whatsoever.
I DO NOT LET GO. Have been in touch with Groupon and Trading Standards, and will take them to the Small Claims Court if they don't have the decency to respond to me.
I found the website via Google and to this point only ever ordered from Halfords. Place my order for a Sony car stereo and selected the standard delivery service. The following day the stereo arrive with no hassle. When i went to fit the unit it went straight into my car with no issues but it kept loosing its memory. I tried it all but i could not figure out why the stereo lost its memory. I traveled to my local Halfords and the car audio guy there could not sus it out. I am now very frustrated. I called car audio centre to return the unit for a full refund and when they asked me what the problem was they told me how to fix it in seconds. I cant believe that i tried every option other than the simplest. i would have saved days in time and more importantly the frustration. Thanks Car Audio Centre you are the BEST
I ordered a head unit from caraudiocentre.co.uk on the 19th of January and paid £6 for it to be delivered within 2-3 days. I then didn't hear anything until the 5th of February when I received an e-mail telling me the item was on back order and would be with me as soon as possible "normally within 5 days of the order being placed", which was a complete joke as by then it had already been 17 days. It is now the 24th of February and I still haven't received anything, no update e-mails either.
What makes matters worse is that the item is still being shown as "in stock" on the website.
This company is a joke and I shan't be using them again.
I decided to order through this company due to it apparently specialising in car audio equipment, I was mislead into believing they had a passion for this particular subject. Having placed a order for next day delivery I ordered a new stereo and accompanying equipment for a Nissan 350z . The package turned up the next day but not the correct goods. Having been into contact with customer services they wouldn't accept responsibility and initially declined to ship the expected equipment for a Saturday delivery. Eventually after much discussion on this subject they took my credit card details to try and get this delivered for today, however no goods have arrived no confirmation email for the goods and they have managed to let me down again. The returns department charge 75p per minute to get a dispute resolved and are only open for a few hours each day and seem to be unable to speak with the sales department . Managers are unwilling to speak with you as they are to busy in meetings. Beware dealing with this company !

Ordered a radio and the bits needed to fit it to my car.
After the delivery was late by 2 days, I emailed them to ask what was going on (tracking on the Royal Mail website said they were advised an item was to enter their system but hadn't yet.). I then received an 'automated' email telling me I needed to phone them as there was a problem with my delivery, and if I didn't soon I would face delays on my delivery... I tried to phone their premium rate customer helpline 4 times and couldn't get through. After a couple days of trying to phone and checking order tracking on their website, Car Audio Centre's tracking said my stuff was on back order, meaning it had to be sourced from a supplier as they didn't have it in stock. I read their T&Cs which stated that if they didn't have stock, payment wouldn't be taken unless one is willing to wait for the supplier's delivery -which I've now learnt is a lie as my money was taken as soon as I ordered (and wasn't told anything about things being out of stock). I did eventually receive all my items ~10 days late.
To date the only response I've had from these guys was 5 days after I opened a PayPal dispute, when I had a blunt one liner stating delivery had been made, ignoring the fact that they have violated their own T&Cs and delivered the item well behind schedule with no correspondence whatsoever.
The company seems to be a child of In Phase International Ltd (with whom I had the PayPal dispute).
Got exactly what I wanted when I needed it they were helpful and had a fast and efficient service I would definitely recommend this company to all of my friends and family If you're thinking about Car audio then this is the place to shop
My Car stereo came so quickly and I could install it easily and enjoyed the music too.I was feeling quiet well with price too, when I compared it with other retailers.I would strongly recommend CAC. Try, I am sure You will enjoy............
The transaction went exactly as it should. No scary stories, no problems. Can't really embellish my review any more. I’ve used them before for mail order and I will use them again. I have also used their Leicester shop and their fitting service. This is a rarer event as it’s quite a long drag for me to drive there, but again when I did use the fitting service, the work quality was good and the cost was fine.
I purchased some speakers for my car and my first annoyance came when the product spec online was different to the actual spec of the speakers (the frequency response was different), I was willing to keep them regardless of this. The next problem was one of the speaker casings had a large crack meaning that one of the screws would not go through the casing. When I phoned up I spoke to someone (who didn't seem to bothered) who said to email pictures and a description and they will sort it. After 3 emails they still did not reply. I then phoned again and they said they changed their email address for returns, the person I spoke to assured me it would be dealt with. Another 2 emails and 2 phone calls later they decided to reply and said a replacement would be sent to me. Guess what? still no replacement. I will never buy from here again, terrible customer service.
Went to the Northwood branch after reading good reviews, wanted speakers for my car despite the fact the original headunit was in the car. What I wanted was a couple of pairs of speakers for front and rear just to freshen up the sound - for now. Was basically told the speakers were Ok (despite the fact there was way too much treble which couldn't be dialled out) but I needed to change the headunit for better sound. I know this would help *but* I'm not going to go this far - just help me choose some speakers. No, what I needed was a new head unit OR maybe an underseat sub. NO - I just want speakers, I am the customer - I know the limitations of the original stereo thanks, just the speakers please.. When I did get some speaker recommendations they were no better than what was already installed. I know they were trying to help but please - dont force your advice down my throat. Bottom line is they couldn't help me but they might be able to help you.
