Poor cars, poor service, and thief's too!!

The minute we walked into the showroom we where pounced on by a sale man. We told him several times we where only there to look and did not intend to buy but that made no difference.

Our downfall was when we took an interest in a Renault convertable. From that moment on we where badgered, harassed and relentlessly persued by the saleman. Yes we had a free will, Yes we could have walked out but we tried to be polite and not rude (we should have been) and eventually after FOUR HOURS we signed up for the car !!!

We where promises a full 124 point check, additional warranties, and that the minor scratches we had found etc would ALL be sorted by the time we picked the car up.

Surprise surprise when we went to pick up the car NONE of this had been done. The Manager was called and assured us he would personally oversee the work and so we arranged for the car to go back to them the following week. The work was supposed to take half a day but they rung us late in the afternoon saying they had no finished and needed the car an extra day. 2 days later we picked the car up and everything did look good. The following day, when in town in the car I pulled into a car park and opened up my glove box to get some change from my "parking purse" (a little childs purse I keep in my glove box with a few pound coins for parking meters) to find it was missing - and so were THREE CD'S! I contacted Carcraft immediately to let them know and was told straight away that ANYONE of the staff had access to my car and that there was nothing they could do about it!! I considered contacting the Police but thought they had better things to do than investigate the theft of 3 CD'S and about £8 in coins - wish I had now!

About 6 months later, totally unhappy with the car, I sold it - at a BIG loss. Put it down to experience and vowed never to visit Carcraft again!

Last month I received a phone call from a salesman at Carcraft telling me that it had been a while since I bought my car and would I be considering a change of vehicle in the near future because they had some great new deals in. I immediately told him that I had already sold the car, that Carcraft where thieves, and that I would never use them again. I asked for all my detailed to be removed from their system and he assured me he would do that. About 3 weeks ago I received a phone call from ANOTHER saleman at Carcraft trying to sell me a car again. I told him I had already asked for all my details to be removed from their system and asked why he was ringing me - he said he was not aware of any previous calls but assured me he would remove my details. Guess what - last week I received ANOTHER phone call from Carcraft, this time from their Sales Call Centre. Again I said I wanted my details removing, again I have been assured they would - we will wait and see.

Liars, thieves and stalkers - and they are the good points!!

Avoid at all costs.

2009 Vw passat estate 2.0

Got this car in November and it was working fine for six weeks. Then, breakdown late at night from a wedding on a roundabout the car would not go into gear at all. After waiting for two hours I was towed home. The next day I had to arrange for the car to be towed to carcraft in Leeds, but carcraft had no courtesy cars available so I was left without a car.... I used my car for work And caused me many problems, with having no car I had to make the commute on the train. After two days got the car back I had to get the train to Leeds to get it. And they said they out a new clutch in and the problem was sorted. The car was fine for one more day then suddenly it popped out of gear on the motorway and I could not get it into gear at all. The rac came and they could not fix the car on the road side. So it had to be towed to Leeds again. This meant I had to arrange a lift to get me home because I was without a car again. After two more days they had fitted the car again... Or so they say. I took the train to pick the car up. The gear was very stiff. And the gears 5 and r was not working. At this point I had enough and got rid of the car. I was more than disappointed with the 'service' from carcraft. Three attempts to fix the car and they fail. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ANYONE THAT READ THIS THAT THE CAR MAY LOOK OKAY ON THE SERVICE BUT UNDERNEATH ALL THE SMALL PRINT THERE PROBLEMS THAT LAY WITHIN THE COMPANY. EXPENSIVE, BUT POOR QUALITY CARS AND SERVICE.

Carcraft

A bunch of idiots

I was told to leave the carsales in Newport and never come back because i didnt want to buy one of there over priced cars. This was the manager speaking too !!!!

Carcraft

Bunch of cowboys

I had the displeasure of purchasing a car from the predecessor of this company, Carland. The car was a nightmare, caused me problems from the evening I drove it away and in the end cost me a lot more money than my 17 years car did I owned previously.

When I looked to change my car recently I looked at Carcraft being assured that none of the bad management or cowboy tactics had been inherited into the new company. WRONG!!!! They are still the shonky dealers they were before with the same showrooms with just a different name.

Do yourself a big favour, do not venture near this chain.

Carcraft

Not what you expect from a huge company

In this day and age customer service is everything, and carcraft does not have much. The salespeople pounce when you walk, the only way to get them off your back is to say you are not there to buy.
They are not always honest with you, they just want the sale. And when we told them the next day we did not want it (not knowing the law and our rights, as first time car buyers) they told us we had to keep it. Even though they new we has 7 days to change our mind. This year we gave them benefit of the doubt when they contacted us, they were asked to call back that evening and they did not bother, how nice is that. Not sure if I could managed another try or not, I do not like getting burned.

Carcraft

No - no

The second you walk in, the sales men are all over you, and they will not leave you alone!! The cars are really rough - I didn't buy, though I know some who have and there have been issues . Try the Car People instead!
