I would say that Carphone Warehouse has the best customer service I have ever experienced.
So my story. I bought an iPhone 5 £25 a month 1000mins, 5000 texts and unlimited data, Three Network. From day one I had a problem with the device that the battery was really bad and the phone kept on freezing.
Me a stupid idiot took the phone to Apple Genius Bar 11 days after I bought the phone. They replaced my BRAND NEW IPHONE 5 with a REMANUFACTURED PHONE! I got so mad after that I was complaining and complaining to Apple (who are said have the best customer service) said they won't replace it with a new phone. Somehow I managed to argue my way so that they would give me back my original phone.
Took it to Carphone Warehouse Lakeside and was met by an amazing staff member named Jay and he said there wasn't any fuss they would just give me a brand new sealed iPhone 5.
I could of just done this the first time for less stress, but I would reccommend everyone to go for Carphone Warehouse to get any contracts. Best customer service and best prices!
And I also bought another iPhone 5 contract, 500mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data. For £26 a month an £99 upfront cost! And of course from Carphone Warehouse!
Ordered a phone deal on a Saturday evening and got my phone delivered to my local store at 1105hrs on the next working day; I arrived at the store (Stafford Queens Retail Park) and was greeted immediately by a very helpful employee who gave me helpful advice and I had my phone up and working immediately. Thank you ! Excellent service and a seamless pleasant transaction, I will definitely return !!
My sister bought me a phone here and the sales assistant mentioned about a great deal with Geek-squad insurance. I said no thanks but my sister thought it was a bargain at £1.99 per month and the fact that they said you would get a new mobile straight away if it stopped working/accidental damage/dropped it etc...
The other week my phone stopped working, the touch screen, everything just stopped. Rang Geek squad insuarance and they said take phone to carphone warehouse. Took the phone there and the sales assistant said 'this phone won't switch on?' ERM of course it won't..it's stopped working!!!!!! he said he would book it in to send off for repair. Meanwhile i asked about a replacement handset as stated by geek squad? he said because it's not working it needs to be sent for repair that can take 28 days!!!!! they can't give a replacement handset unless it's an insurance claim that has been accepted???? So what on earth was the point of having the geek squad insurance???
I shall never use carpohne warehouse again. The staff are rude, arrogant and in need of proper training. Oh yeah and by the way...when i went into a store in London, one of the staff was kicking a football around!!! yes is that mean't to be working?
This happened year's ago. I have not received any produce from them after I had ordered and paid a bluetooth headphone. I was trying to connect them. But still nobody reply me. It is really strange. Fortunately, that is not too expensive. I just don't want to buy anything from them.
Pre ordered my Galaxy S4 with Carphone warehouse and received an £80 accessories bundle and a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, although my S4 was a day late (due to Samsung's change in release) they gave me a free £40 speaker so im really impressed. I also pre ordered my old Galaxy Note II last year and that went smoothly as well!
I ordered a Samsung galaxy refurbished from them before Easter.... they delivered it quickly although the phone came rattling around in the box! I put it together and charged it! The battery lasted half hour, then turned off and never came on again for 2 days!! I arranged a return and they picked it up on the 3rd April! I was told on the phone when I arranged the return I would receive a refund within 3 - 5 working days! 5 working days passed... NO REFUND! I called and the sales adviser said it would be from when they received it, on the 5th April! I waited 2 more days and called again! The sales adviser said 10 working days! I also paid an extra £10 for a sim card which I wasn't going to use as I needed a replacement phone for my contract sim! So the sim card wasn't used or opened! I was told then on the phone that the adviser who arranged my refund should of advised me to keep the sim card.. which they never did! So I am losing out on £10! I asked the adviser if I could have a new sim card sent to me so I can sell it or make use of it! He said they are unable to do that! He then said the refund will be with me within 10 WORKING DAYS!!! Whatt???? So in the meantime, I've written 2 complaints to carphone warehouse which have not been responded too! I called them today as today has been well over 10 days and I'VE STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED!!!!!! I demanded to speak to someone to make a complaint! He went and spoke to a manager and they have to wait for 2 days to get a voice recorded phone call from when I arranged the return so they can hear for themselves that the adviser didn't tell me to keep the sim card and told me 3 - 5 working days!! I now have to wait 10 WORKING DAYS FROM THE DAY THEY RECEIVE THE RECORDING!!!! WTF???? So angry with them but now what can I do??They don't even reply to complaints!! Disgusting customer service will never purchase from them or recommend!!! DISGUSTING COMPANY AM GOING TO WRITE COMPLAINTS EVERYWHERE SO NO ONE BUYS FROM THEM!!!!!

I got a samsung galaxy s3 and had to take it back to the carphone warehouse to be checked over as apps were crashing. The guy said he would have to send it off,and it could take up to 2 weeks to be looked at by other engineers they said they would contact me when it came back into store so i could collect it. 2 weeks later i rang carphone warehouse on the friday to be told my phone was in the store and had been since Tuesday but nobody from the store had rang to tell me it was ready for collection. The second incident was i went to upgrade and got a phone with a samsung tablet to be told they didnt have the stock in and would deliver the next day which was fine. I waited in all day for delivert at 5pm i rang customer services to ask them when was my order expected to be told it had only left the depot at 1.15pm that afternoon and they said it would be monday it would be expected to arrive. I logged the first complaint and said i wasnt happy at all that the inconvenience they had caused when i had to make alternative arrangements with family and friends. Over the wkd i noticed the handset was working a lot slower so again not satisfied with an apology and the hand set i rang to complain. The first woman who i spoke to said said they werent prepared to change the hand set, and werent prepared to offer me anything for the inconvienence that they had caused myself. She then put me onto another guy who basically told me i had to options i could either go out onto the street and sell the phone or return the goods. At this point i was furious and made my mind up to return goods and have nothing else to do with the company. On the day i went to return the goods another manager contacted me apologising and offered me some accessory for the samsung tablet.I said that i was absolutely discusted on the way the situation had been dealt with and with the options i had been given, and was returning the goods and, didnt want anything else to do with company.

The man was soooo rude it was unbelievable for the first time ever I actually had to ask him to stop being a T**t. Also they do not know how to work the computers and we were there for 45 mins.
The manager said someone had broke it then later admitted that it was him. And then a college comes in with bags of KFC? They could of done that on there lunch break?
This is the store in Gillingham

This company is an absolute joke - The sales staff are useless lazy arrogant bunch of shysters who can't be bothered answering the phone cos they know your call will eventually go through to a call centre, I was told by the a person who actually RANG ME to discuss my complaint that "the sales managers tell staff not to answer the the phone if there are customers in the shop" !!!!!!!!!???????? What a great customer relations policy. He promised me a return call from the complaints dept.- It's 48 hours waiting now. I hope I don't die before I get that call. After reading complaints here and on CPW's own website I am not even going to bother pursuing this complaint with this bunch of incompetent untrained, couldn't care less idiots.
So their complaints policy " I couldn't give a s**t." works !.
Obviously, more incompetent shambles - less pursued complaints !.
STEER CLEAR SAVE YOURSELF A LOAD OF HASSLE.

Ordered the Samsung Galaxy on Friday, was told to expect delivery on Monday. Here it is. Everything is connected and activated. Lovely!
Thanks CPW!
I bought a Virgin sim-only contract on the internet at lunch time, expecting to receive my sim card the next day as advertised on their website. When I did not receive a dispatch email the next day, I rang customer services who apologised and said my card would be with me the day after. I was a little upset but received my card as promised. I installed it into my telephone, however when I tried to send sms or make phone calls it said I did not have enough credit. I then rang the Carphone Warehouse and was told that it could sometimes take up to 48 hours for Virgin to receive and update my details, and that my details had only been communicated to Virgin 24 hours after I had placed the order! I was promised that my card would be working by the end of the day. In order to be cautious I called Virgin and they told me that they had not received my details. So I rang the Carphone Warehouse again and this time the advisor told me that for some unknown reason the Carphone Warehouse had "forgotten" to do my credit check. He said I would have to go into a store to get it sorted. I told him I was not going to waste any more of my time with them and gave him the option of either putting things right on the telephone or cancelling my order straight away. He said he could do neither and that I would have to go into a shop. I insisted that this was unacceptable, was put on hold for 10 minutes and then told that my ordered had been cancelled.
I subsequently called Virgin to get a card direct with them, they did my credit check while I was on the phone and I received a working sim card the next day. The advisor was also much more friendly, knowledgeable and helpful... what a difference. I will never go to the Carphone Warehouse again.

After making an order online I rang to make a small change (Tariff) to my pre-order for a Sony Xperia Z, The rep I spoke to said they couldnt amend my order, all they could do was cancel and resubmit it but i was more concerned to hear my application had not been accepted and I had not been contacted despite having made this order 10 days earlier!
I assumed this was an oversight as the person mentioned there was only one T in my name on the bank details so i went back online to resubmit the application.
I rang back to check if this went through ok only to be told I had been declined by o2, no explanation was offered as to why.
I therefore rang o2 (as im an existing customer) only for them to tell me as an existing client I would be an "Automatic Accept" and they had no record of my application from their end!
Rang back Carphone warehouse to explain the above, no satisfactory explanation just told me I had been declined due to adverse credit, This is utter nonsense as i have since seen my Equifax credit report which has no marks or blemishes and scores me as "excellent", The only offer your staff made was to try another network.
I am totally confused as to why I have actually been declined by CPW/o2 and quite frankly am discusted with the service I have received from them.
Since i have seen my credit report (and its fine) I have asked them to tell me specifically why my application has been declined, surprisingly they couldnt tell me.
I have since ordered my experian report which already shows my search by Orange (which I arranged through Dial a phone) which was several days after trying CPW but surprisingly no searches showing for CPW/O2 which suggests a credit search was never even carried out.
It all stinks of misinformation and im none the wiser
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: 26/02/13 - Well its 2 working days on and no comment from CPW - bad publicity on trustpilot is one thing but we'll see what Watchdog have to say about it if CPW cant be bothered to respond on here.

bought a phone and took out the insurance as i was advised it cover me against everything loss, theft, accidental damage etc
when my phone went missing i was told i wasnt covered and they wouldnt replace it
total liars, sold me a policy claiming i was covered and i wasnt
Terrible company. Went to the local shop with a problem and the girl just laughed at my predicament rather than helping me.
I decided to sell the phone as faulty on eBay and get some money for it and go to Phones4u instead.

Terrible terrible customer service, I had the same experience as Stephen (below) apart from not having an O2 representative with me at the time. The ignorance of the staff is almost unbelievable, I went to the Kingston branch, and it is fair to say that after my experience, I will NEVER purchase anything from them and will not recommend them either. The word incompetent springs to mind? I complained to head office who said that they would "deal with it", which I doubt?
STAY away from them. There are so many other companies that deserve the custom above these Cowboys.

Bought an LG L5 form CPW after 1month and 1 day it stopped being able to hold its charge. Took it back to the shop where I purchased it, and they advised that because it was over 1 month by 1 day they are going to have to send it off to be repaired, which will take 4 weeks. If however I went in the day before then they would have given me a new phone. I advised that due to the 1 foot of snow that fell over night that would have been impossible. Well other people got to see us yesterday was the response. Called their HO and they said it was their company policy regardless of what happens. ..... What happened to a bit of common sense and empowering your staff. They would rather I risk my life and the life of my family to exchange a phone in the exchange period rather than waiting until it is safe to travel. I will never use them again!!!!!!!

I was phoned by CPW as I approached my upgrade date. I agreed to get an iPhone 5, but was told unequivocally that I had 14 days to return it to any CPW shop if I changed my mind.
I received the phone quickly the next day (no problem there), but soon realised it wasn't the phone for me. So I took it back to a CPW shop, where the trouble began.
The assistant refuses point blank to accept it, even when I'd said his own customer services had said I could return it. I went next door to the O2 shop, where they were unbelievably helpful. They phoned CPW customer services for me, then physically walked next door with me to CPW to sort it out.
It was eventually only when the CPW shop assistant had his own customer services on the end of my phone giving him instructions that he would take back the phone and refund me - and then only reluctantly and with very bad temper.
Only later did I discover, however, that he didn't note the return of the phone on his system, meaning that when, in the O2 shop, they tried to sort me out a very favourable deal because of the trouble I'd had next door, they couldn't. It took several days to sort out.
So 150% score to O2 in Headingley, Leeds, for their very great care and attention in sorting it out for me, and in great contrast about 1% to CPW in Headingley for their incompetent, verging on rude and insulting, service. I know where I'll go in future.

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S3 the other night and the delivery said it would arrive withing 2 days. But when I went to track my order it says it is ready to dispatch. I contacted Yodel and they say they haven't even received the parcel yet because it hasn't been dispatched. I'd like to know when my phone will actually be here rather than being lied to and waiting around the house all day for something that isn't even coming.

I know a lot of people have got bad things to say about Carphone Warehouse - I don't know if they have issues in terms of contract phones, but for ordering an offline phone they were pretty good.
I ordered the iPhone 5 on the first pre-order day from the Apple Store Online with a delivery time of 1-2 weeks after the release date of Friday 21 September 2012. However, due to some changing travel plans, I cancelled the order.
I then checked the Carphone Warehouse website, which showed a delivery date of Monday 24 September and the same price as the Apple Store. I phoned to confirm this as it seemed too good to believe, and it turned out to be true - I was however told that it may possibly be delivered on Tuesday if there are any unexpected delays.
To my surprise, the phone actually arrived on Friday 21 September (the release date of the phone). This was great - I managed to get the new iPhone, on the day of release, without having to queue for hours at the Apple Store!
Ordered Samsung Tablet for delivery to shop for collection,After 10 days still not been delivered to the shop and according to tracking was still in warehouse.Phoned CFP to check it out only to be told that they did not know what the problem was and they would phone me back.Surprise surprise nobody phoned back so phoned them 3 days later to be told that the tablet had been lost and could not offer a replacement.Asked for a refund and after having been passed from pillar to post spoke to man called Karl who confirmed i would get a refund and confirmed that he had phoned my delivery shop to confirm that the tablet would not be delivered to them.I asked for a confirmation email or serial number only to be told could not be done as system down and promised to phone me back.Yet again nobody phoned me back.Phoned again 5 days later chasing up my refund to be told that i would not be getting a refund as the tablet had now been sent to my local shop for collection and was asked had anyone bothered to tell me.Phoned local shop to confirm that they had the tablet which i later collected minus either an invoice or receipt all i was given was a dispatch note thus making it impossible to register for my Samsung cashback. Needless to say this is the first and last time i will buy anything from CPW and will be making everyone i know aware of just how bad they are.As someone who is employed in the service industry if i offered this level of service i would have long since been sacked.

So many people down-voting carphone warehouse because of Yodel. Yes Yodel are terrible, and they shouldn't legally be allowed to call themselves a delivery company. And yes, carphone warehouse shouldn't be using them.
There is an obvious and simple way to get around this though. Select the "deliver to store" option. I read all these reviews and decided to give this a try. It worked BEAUTIFULLY! The phone I've been wanting for a while (nexus 4) on the contract I wanted (cheap as chips) when I wanted it (next day) with no fuss whatsoever! Avoid Yodel at all costs - but don't miss out on a good deal because of it. Maybe carphone warehouse will pull their finger out and give these idiots the boot eventually... but until then you can still use them, get good service and a great deal too.
Most painless mobile I've ever got.
Carphone Warehousr use Yodel to deliver. Yodel dont deliver...they pretend to have attempted it and make you wait days extra to get it.
Complete con...dont expect your order quick off Carphone Warehouse - go to Phones 4 U instead!
I have had the same problem twice now six months apart

I receiveda a straight forward non pushy service when I visited cpw forestside Belfast store today. A breath of fresh air for staff to be so helpful
Order Confirmation -273292738 Was placed in good faith in the early hours of the morning, showing stock availability. Confirmation Email received. Several hours later the order was cancelled as someone had either made a mistake in the stock they had, or the profit margin was to low. Contacted the CEO, but other than an appology nothing was offered.
Some people are receiving there orders:Yodel Job Number JD0002213310
I have bought the phone and I have chosen to be delivered at my house, but the next day nobody came, in the second day I have received a text message saying that someone came to bring the phone and left a card( no card was left) so I went online and select that the item to be delivered next day. When I saw that next day that nobody came to bring my phone I've looked on the site and I saw that the phone was delivered on the second day by yodel and that I signed for it ( big lie because I was 70 miles away that day). So I phone to cpwh and told them what happened and wanted to cancel the order. But ofcourse that I can't cancel the order until they resolve the problem. So now I am without money and without a phone, but I have a direct debit on my bank account.

Purchased a tablet online last night, was informed I will get a confirmation email. The confirmation email never turned up so I rang customer services. Was told they had received the order, and the payment and asked did I want the last one? to which I replied 'well, that is why I ordered it'. I was then
told it was on the way and I would get a confirmation email. Again the email never arrived, so concerned I rang again, to be told they were out of stock and they will let me know when they're back in, which could be whenever. I was told I then had to ring back in the morning if I wanted a refund. If only I checked here first, I wouldn't have bothered ordering in the first place

Ordered a mobile and contracted from them on the 30 th of November ,
24 hour delivery promised still nothing
Checked and firstly they hadn't put the first line of our address ,
Thought we had sorted it , was getting re delivered ,
Tried calling again , making us wait longer
Our family are dealing with alot at the moment and this added stress is not what we need,
Getting passed on , not calling back when they should ,
All a nightmare fast enough to take the money , but they really don't give a dam
Yes YODEL COURIER AGAIN

Incompetence and lie - that is what I can say about CPW. My phone died when I left it charging overnight. It was accepted by CPW local shop. However, soon after that, I received the report saying it was water damaged. The report was poorly written, showing low-quality small spot somewhere, which made a "highly qualified engineer" make assumption I dropped it into the water. I tried to speak with CPW customer support so they could explain this report to me. The response was rather arrogant and rude. I was occused of opening the phone (not even my brand). By having such response, I reported the problem to manufacturer directly and, oh miracle, the phone was repaired for free. The manufacturer confirmed there was no water damage at all. I'm surprised the company with such rating still have the business in the UK... but not with me and my friends anymore!!!!

I have recently visited CPW with my Galaxy Note that would not power up. The lady had a look at it tried charging then said she has to send it away to get it checked out. Also stated that because it is not powering up it must be an internal fault and it will be fixed within guarantee. A week later got a phone call that phone is ready for collection but on the visit to the store not only phone was not working but also screen had cracks in 3 places!!!!!!! I was told due to damage to screen they decided not to touch it as it is not covered by guarantee. I do not know what kind of 'specialists' they take on to do repairs but it looks they cause extra damage themselves to avoid costs of fixing phones within guarantee. Complete Incompetence but what else can you else expect..... that how they make money of people

on the 30th of october 2012 they said my sony xperia u will be repaired in the epress centre when i got home the tracker said it is on the way to wednesbury ... yer thats right total lie !!! on the 5th of november i checked the tracker and thay said the parts were orded from the manufacterer . will they barrow me a phone ?
On the 17th Sept I got a phone contract from o2 (Not Carphone Warehouse) but on disliking it, o2 told me to return it to my local Carphone Warehouse and they would tell Carphone Warehouse to refund my deposit..
I did so and on asking me the card number I used to pay my deposit, they refunded me that on 24th Sept. After this refund, I purchased Galaxy S3 in store at the same time.
Couple of days ago however, my bank account was fleeced for over £600 by o2. I contacted them and they told me Carphone Warehouse had not returned the phone to them.
So today, I went down to my local store with my bank statement showing sales and refund and the receipt.
Amazingly despite all this, the Carphone Warehouse say it's not on the system so I did not return the phone to them and there's nothing they can do.
I've been to see my bank manager and my local Citizens Advice today, as well as sending all these details to Watchdog and have demanded compensation.
I have the name of the person who sold me the item and took my phone back. Either he has taken it for his self, forgot to record it or Carphone Warehouse have deliberately stolen money from me.
I have submitted an indemnity claim also.
Seems like I popped into the carphone warehouse in Inverness today not to buy a phone surprisingly enough but to be blantantly ignored and spoken to like absolute rubbish. Four sales staff in the shop, two behind a desk chatting and another two behind the till serving one customer for 15 minutes. The guy behind the till noticed me coming in and standing there but just chose to ignore me. Eventually after 15 minutes of realising I'm not standing in the shop because I enjoy spending my morning observing fools at 'work' or staring at phones to pass my time, he decides to ask if I'm okay. I knew which phone I was after and just replied saying I would like to buy said phone to which he replied 'I suppose so'. At that point I decided not to engage with this company any further. It appears as if it's a company requirement for employees to be so feckless. I won't be setting foot in another carphone warehouse, not that they care though because they don't care about much obviously.
When ordering on line with collect instore they have plenty of computer problem the vendor cannot solve. The advertized cashback was not given although their problem made me lost about 1 hour. This company does not work properly.
I went into the carphone warehouse in oxford street today due to my kindle breaking randomly overnight when it hadn't even been touched! i qued for thirty minutes, YES 30MINUTES to see someone from the geek squad. There was only 1 person serving and there were 2 people stood behind the desk talking and when i asked if someone else could come on the tills i simply got a shake of the head, no words, no apology. When i finally got served she was rude & dismissive and in no way helpful at all! Saying it was my fault and that'd id have to pay a lot of money to have it fixed. The same thing has happen to a fair few of my friends kindles and they spoke to amazon who sent them a free replacement. basically, i should have never ever bought anything with this company and won't ever ever EVER again! i was going to buy an iphone frm them as well today but due to their poor poor customer service i went to phones4u instead, who were 100% better!! they were amazing compared to carphone warehouse!
I bought a phone and 10qiud credit. I haven't got 10 pound more than 2 months and I haven't got the refund...
Came 3 times to the shop, 3 times called but no sort it out...
Rubbish provider..
For some reason I decided to go through them again despite having previous problems with my phone's software breaking and them repairing it, but breaking the hardware (i.e. the lock key so I couldn't unlock it), they essentially said it wasn't there problem.
However this time I ordered a phone from them about a month ago, it came without a problem, the SIM is still not active, they haven't sorted anything out with T-Mobile (I rang them and they have no record of me wanting a contract with them). I rang them, they said that they were just finishing up the credit checks (3 weeks on I have still not heard either way), I emailed them, 2 weeks later, not even an acknowledgement of my email. I won't be using them again that's for sure!
I bought a tablet from Carphone Warehouse which only worked for a couple of weeks before the screen started to freeze. Then 2 weeks later it stopped even turning on. Looked fault up online and called manufacturers, whence I discovered it is a "fatal software error", and not uncommon with said tablet. Went to Carphone Warehouse asking for refund. They have point blank refused and got incredibly rude to me when I quoted Sale Of Goods Act 1979 at them, and pointed out they were in breach of contract because they supplied me with faulty goods which were not fit for purpose.
Only offered me a repair - take it or leave it. I need my tablet, so reluctantly I took it. They told me their policy is to only offer repairs after 28 days. I pointed out their policy cannot over-rule the LAW. No matter. No resolution.
They have now had my tablet for almost 2 weeks. I was initially informed that they would be sending it to manufacturers and I would have it back either within 14 days or 28 days. I have called them to find out progress three times in the 10 days I have been without it. They keep telling me I can track it online - hello? They have my tablet!!! Today I have been tiold they sent it back to the manufacturers yesterday because they could not fix it! And that the manufacturers would probably offer me a replacement. I DONT WANT A REPLACEMENT. I want my money back! Surely this is tacit admission the thing is not fit for purpose.
Do not ever ever shop at Carphone Warehouse. They have no regard for the law.
I will be taking this matter through the courts and also contacting my credit card company for a full refund.
Put down a deposit for a phone and they have still not payed it back even though their debt is now 2 weeks overdue from when they said I would recieve it. WIll bring it to court if now resolved soon.
After I cancelled my order of an iphone 5, I was told I would recieve a refund within 8 working days.
Since today was 15 working days after my cancellation I called the Carphone W accounts dept and asked for the status of my refund.
| was told that card refund take up to 14 working days, but since we were on day 15 the account person agreed to look into it. She actually found out that my refund was never processed in the first place, and that she had to start the process again... which could take up to 14 working days!!!
Unprofessional does even come close to what the service really is at the Carphone Warehouse.
Ironically they spend £100s of £1000s of pounds on radio ads (I heard 4 of them this AM) telling people "8/10 of their customers are happy with their service and would recommend them to a friend". Ah Ah! That also confirm they are aware of their ratings on Web reviews!
Spend your money wisely and invest in your personnel first!
