Rude. Unhelpful.

I usually avoid going in a CPW shop except to look as staff are always in your face instead of leaving the customer to look around in peace.

I really wished I hadn't travelled to another town in order to get the £100 cash back trade in when I purchased a new contract phone on the phone last week. I'd read other reviews about the Burnley store but as I'd been told twice on the phone I COULD take my old phone in-store to get the offer I did.

Staff were rude. To my horror one tried to pry the backs of both phones to get the imei number for the phones. Bearing in mind the phones were fully sealed and you'd expect someone working in a phone shop to know HTC Ones and Motorola rzr1s were. Potentially damaging them in the process. To quote the staff member 'we just sell the phones and we don't know anything about them?'..Whaaaat?!

It got worse from then on with the rudeness and would not phone the CPW on my behalf so they could tell them I can take the phone in-store regardless whether I got it by phone or online to get the offer. Nope. Refused. They claimed the opposite of what I got told on the phone. I checked twice before going I could do it in store.

It would be laughable if not upsetting. Other comments here are right, they are rude and it seems widespread. Forget customer care. Don't even bother to find out directly from CPW to see if I could recycle the phone in-store despite being told I could. No consideration given to how upset anyone would be travelling there and then told no. If they sold cars they'd be dodgy. But to say they only sell phones and don't know how to use them? WTF is all you can say. Oh, but you'd expect anyone them to wouldn't you being a COW shop. Yeah. Wrong.

I won't recommend CPW to anyone now.

Not impressed and future custom will go elsewhere.

After shopping around for the best deal for a samsung s4 zoom. I came across carphone warehouse with 3 deals available. An insert on the side of the deal said purchase samsung s4 zoom you will receive the bundle pack free. Recieved delivery of phone but no bundle pack. On emailing carphone warehouse they told me I wasn't entitled to the free gift. I found their whole manner very rude and will never use them again. Especially as another 3 upgrades in this house this year. False advertising comes to mind especially as all the deals shown did not include the bundle pack.

Bad customer service and really rude staff in Brixton

After been waiting for 30 minutes the lady call Sylvia been flirting with a customer for over 20 minutes when was my turn she simply said I need to do something inside. After 10 minutes a guy called Taariq came with attitude like he was doing a good job and didn't like when I said their concept about customer service was poor. He simply walk away saying I'm not serving you.

This gentlemen needs to be teach about technics of manners and told that we customers are the 1's paying his wages.

Also I'm doing a formal complaint on the head office

Disgraceful, decieving company.

Absolutely hounded when buying the phone to insure it, he spent 20 minutes talking about it at the counter, and i gave in just to get out of there,

glass of screen broke in last month after a years use, after paying 15 per month, or 180 by now, and they demanded a €50 euro excess fee to replace a part that cost a little over 30 euro in most shops.

When i asked if i would be provided with a phone while they were fixing mine, i was told i'd be given a "feature phone" , a €15 euro samsung, but that i'd have to provide a €45 deposit for it, a €45 deposit for a used phone that costs €15, jokers! Phone has been with them for 6 weeks now instead of the original estimate of 10 days, they can't tel me where it is right now, and when i try to track the fix on their site nothing comes up, i'm getting "no data available".

Absolute disgrace, ignorant staff, deceiving and dishonest company, will cancel insurance immediately once phone is returned.

no follow up support, attitude of staff stinks

Following android update, major battery issues, battery lucky to last 4 hours even in standby.
Phone also overheating.
Tried the usual fixes including factory reset.
No joy
Cartoons warehouse, even tho I only bought phone 2 months ago, absolutely no help, fobbing the problem back to Sony, who's problem it is, releasing a dodgy OS.
Cartoons warehouse not even interested in the problem, only wanting to send the phone off....

Diabolical customer service

Went into the Christchurch branch on Friday 18/4/14 although it wasn't overly busy all the staff were engaged serving customers, so I waited and waited and waited. Eventually after 20 mins of being totally ignored I decided to leave. I question if any member of this store went into another business, say for an example a pub and was totally ignored for the same amount of time how would they feel..
Judging by the negative comments they've received on this site , those in charge don't really seem to care

I found a good deal on the net .free samsung s5 100 pound trade in on my ol. i then went in to the store thinking i would get the same deal being same company but was told i wound have to pay £59 up front for the phone no movment on this a sales person ..no chance was i having that walked out and checked the net for the best deal thank God i found a deal on Phones4u free phone 100 plus one month cost back total of £142.99 in 30 days time and i get to keep my old phone as well ..CPW lose mine and phones4u gain

Fantastic Service in Haywards Heath Shop!

I bought two phones online at Carphonewarehouse, having made the mistake I wanted to return and change to another phone. They were very helpful and changed all over in no time, they advised a better deal and contract and moved all over! All in all I can honestly say that the experience I had was amazing. The two guys are stars and very helpfull and the manager was courteous and professional. I was sceptic as the reviews online were very bad and not good, my experience was thankfully great! A job well done and go to the Haywards Heath shop if you want service!

No after-sale service in Burnley, thank goodness for excellent Talkmobile!

The good - great value on lumia 520. A 2 year contract with talkmobile for only £7.25 a month because they pay the other £5 for the whole term.
The bad - they really wanted to sell me insurance.
The ugly - not interested once they've sold you something, even when you have a contract with them. My mobile data wasn't working so after phoning Talkmobile, who tried really hard to sort it out, i was advised to take the handset back to Carphonewarehouse for them to look at it. The first shop I visited, which was where I bought the phone, was empty but the sales guy just wasn't interested. He just couldn't be bothered and was texting on his own phone while intermittently looking at mine. Said I should've bought the insurance. The second store I went to was also empty, apart from the 3 staff, including the manager who disappeared as soon as I'd explained the problem. They had no idea about the phone and just seemed really disinterested. Told me they could send it away & I'd get it back in 2 weeks. It's only 5 weeks old! So OK, I understand they''re there to sell things and can't know everything about every phone, but their attitudes were what bothered me. They really just couldn't be bothered at all.
When I got home I thought I'd give talkmobile another try and they were fantastic. Kerry who I spoke to went through every option trying to fix it. In the end a full reset did the job. She even phoned me the next day to see if it had worked.
Be warned, if you get a contract with carphonewarehouse, don't expect them to help in any way once you've paid your money.

VERY VERY POOR NEVER BUY FROM THEM........

I signed up online with carphone warehouse to tell me when the Samsung S5 would be avaliable for pre order, They called me to tell me and offered me a deal, however the services was poor, the sale man that was talking to me had no idea what he was selling as i could hear his manager in the background telling him what to say, they then offered me a deal and did a credit check which they said was accepeted and i then paid the £100 for the phone with the £100 cash back deal,

However they took my email and said I would get a confirmation which diid not happen, so I called the sales team at carphone warehouse who asked me for the details and said everything was fine and the phone would be with me on the 11.4.2014.

so I spoke to EE as I have pre ordered with them too online and canceled as i had the better deal with carphone warehouse, however the EE person said there was nothing on the system from carphone warehouse saying that my order had been placed and advised me to speak to them just to check.

So I called them up and could not get through when I did the women hung up on me, so I called again and waited for 30 minutes with no luck, Anyways today I called them and managed to speak to someone who was not in the UK call center,
They took my details and told me that the order had not been processed and they will do it again but can see that I have paid the £100 for the phone, she then said that to put the order through she needs to do another credit check, Bearing in mind this had already been done and it had all gone through, she asked me for the phone number and could not get the number right, so I spoke to the manager who again was useless and DID not call me back.

So they have told me an order has been made and taken the money from my account and no order.... the reason was given that they were having issues with the system and the checks were not being made, surely you wont take a payment form us if the credit check was not accepted?

PLEASE BE ADVISED AVOID THEM AT ALL COST, I NOW NEED TO GET MY MONEY BACK,

Worst resellers

The story starts on 26/03/14 ,as i called carephone warehouse customer care and ordered for an htc m8 with O2 contract ,the phone had one of cost of 99pound.And the executive did all steps to complete the order and told me its successful and i will get order details in 10 mints to my mailbox ,i waited for 10 mints nothing happend,i got got doubt and called again and gave my details and they told everything is fine,i will receive details soon.Next day morning i called them again , they said my order was rejected.and you'll get 99pound refunded in two days.again called them after 2 days and as usual i gave my details ,they started to say system doesn't shows my account and they cant do anything,the customer executive bi*** was making fun of me my repeating words in fu**** ways.I checked my pingit app and it clearly showed 99pound was taken by www.carphonwareho .i took that to coventry cwh store and they were also not able to pull-up my account details ,they were convinced about the money which they took and advised me to bring printed statement which have transaction number and all.am not going to leave them .if i didn't get my refund i will show how important customer is .

Absolutely Appalling.

I called them yesterday to sort out a phone deal - Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini with the Kindle Fire HD 16gb offer. I tried with O2 yet they wanted a ridiculous £150 deposit upfront for no apparent reason. So I switched to Vodafone and they offered me up to 2 contracts. Although the staff where friendly, getting to this point has been awful! I wasted an hour on the phone to a sales person who was going to call me back at 4pm yet I never ever received the phone call. So, I had to call them back again; same story, supposedly going to call me back later at 5:30pm this time yet I didn't receive a phone call and it was only 20 minutes after I got off the phone to them because her system crashed. So, I called them again! Supposedly going to call me back today at 11:30am yet I received no phone call, so I called them again!! Apparently they didn't call me because their system is down so why not have the courtesy to inform me of this rather than just not call me? They said they would call me back at 1pm, and they haven't called me back! So, I'm taking my trade elsewhere. If they want new costumers they're going to have to do better than that, it's a bloody joke! Oh, and I tried complaining online - everytime you click on, "something else" it just closes the box, doesn't give you an email address and doesn't let you complain!!!! F***ing B******s.

fake sales pitches and poor service.

I have not bought anything from carphone warehouse for several years after they failed to deliver an upgrade until I threatened to take them to court and also refused to fix a fault on a brand new phone. They have now taken to ringing me on a daily basis claiming to be O2 and wanting me to agree to an upgrade immediately. O2 have confirmed is not them and when I challenged today's call he agreed he is carphone warehouse (if he was o2 he'd know I got my upgrade 2 weeks ago right?). I almost agreed to the 1st offer because they said it was O2 until they basically refused to give me the phone I wanted and insisted I take a phone I didn't want for more money. When I said no she said she'd send it out anyway as I'd have 7 days to send it back if I didn't like it. Wonder how many people have been caught out by this pretty dishonest sales technique? Today's charmer also informed me that I was overreacting because I'd 'only' had five unsolicited calls from them (that I've answered). Untrustworthy.

Dreadful

As others have said, this company is shocking when it comes to customer service. We tried to enter a local shop at 4:45pm (closing time 6:00pm stated on the door) and the doors were locked. Two staff inside totally ignored us. We gave up and complained to head office, who tried to call the shop and could not get an answer!

The following day we tried to phone three Carphone Warehouses locally a number of times, none answered. We then went into their main shop in the city centre. We got half way through a transaction to buy an iPhone and their systems went down. They said to call back in an hour when they might be up and running again. What a joke!

What a load of rubbish!!

From customer service to the quality of their 'talk mobile' coverage and the 'reasonably' priced phones that they sell that are in fact cheap tat, this company is not to be trusted.
I stupidly took out a longer contract to save money - never again. CPW rely on this to make money and walk away - they clearly are not bothered about returning customers because they make enough money out of new customers who if treated like me will never return again!! When you complain they just keep churning out the same cut & paste response that they received in training, they don't actually deal with the specific issue. Roll on the date I can stop this farce and go to a decent company for my mobile phone.

Rubbish

Got a new iphone with vodafone sim card, up to now ok. Had a PAC code to migrate from O2 they tried to do it for me but had to be issued with temporary number. I was then told that I had to wait 24hrs and try again. Ok, 24hrs passed and I tried direct with vodafone myself, all went well until they told me that I had a faulty Sim card and should go back to Carphone Warehouse for a new one, this I duly did and was told that I would have to pay £15.00 for a replacement sim card which 2 days before they had supplied me with. Needless to say I was not amused and went straight to a Vodafone shop and got it replaced for free. CPW obviously think more about extracting as much money out of people that they can get away with. I will NEVER shop with this company again and will warn anyone who will listen not to go there. This is my first and last time with them.

CPW My worst nightmare

My contract was about tp expire, i searched for new phones and found cheap deal from CPW, where my night mare started.
Guy on the phone sounded he was very nervous and kept mumbling. Told him i wanted to use my Phone number with New contract. I got my new phone with new simcard, second day i called T-mobile to ut my old number on the new sim, which is thus not possible. CUSTOMER CARE(NOT) told me i have 2 options, send everything back or put my number from t-mobile to another provider and than get pack code to transfer back again. So this is going for weeks now and i have 2 contracts to pay. Make a complaint and the only thing they will do is internally speak with the person and you will not hear anything back. Wow what a customer support.

NEVER EVER TRUST CPW on their so called sales team or customer care.
Learned my lesson. Will never go back.

Was it a sign to not purchase with CPW?

My contract/phone was finally ready to be upgraded! I had a look around at the different phones/contracts I could get and was happy with one for the Xperia Z1 compact, which was only an offer available online (cheapest offer I found). Should I have realised there would be problems when the website said my surname was incorrect because it is double-barrelled? Yes!
I contacted CPW and a helpful woman found the deal for £1 extra, which I was happy with. I got transferred to someone to complete the transaction and was told my phone would be with me in 2days time (don't deliver sundays).
Phone came yesterday and discovered a new contract had been set up for me, despite saying twice and the staff confirming this was to be an upgrade! I contacted CPW and spoke to a guy, who set up for a free 64mb media card to come with the phone because of the inconvenience. Then transferred over to another guy (who sounded like he had just woken up) to make a note on the system for my local store so that I could take the phone back and get it cancelled. Let's hope there are no problems with that today, as its not ideal taking a baby into these stores when you could be waiting around for a while!
Anyway, I was told yesterday I would receive my phone today... I received a call from CPW today saying that the transaction hadn't been closed (probably by the guy who was asleep) so I wouldn't receive my phone today but they'll try and push it forward so I can get it tomorrow...
Try isn't the word, you will push it forward! I should have known from the start not to go ahead with CPW and regret it already. Very promising for the future when my contract is for 24mnths. Let's hope I have no problems! Won't be getting my insurance through them!

Terrible Customer Service and Rude Managers

Absolutely atrocious customer service. I phoned a few weeks ago to lay a complaint against a manager of a store who said something totally inappropriate which I took offence to. After being told I will be kept up to date with the progress of my complaint, I was kept in the dark. Today I phoned back to get an update and to learn absolutely nothing was done. To add insult to injury the person on the line was trying to defend the manager stating that the wording could have been taken out of context. What the manager said is something that no manager should say, had this been a company who valued morals and values, that manager would have been looking for another job. I was very annoyed how the person on the call was trying to defend the manager's actions. He then proceeded to try to argue with me. I'm a customer. If I was offended you should be doing what you can to rectify that and not try to defend what was said and done. On top of this I got fed the same story as last time that this will be fed to the manager's area manager. To me it feels like the managers are able to say and do as they please and nothing will be done about it. At any other ordinary company this would be considered a severe incident with a formal investigation into the the matter.

This has beyond any doubt made me ensure that I will never shop at Carphone Warehouse again. I will in future even go out my way not to shop with them again. They simply don't give a damn about their customers.
