Robing and tack forr ever with the money and say the phone is broken when its nt
Initial offer for my immaculate condition iPhone was low but just about acceptable. I spent £4.10 to send it safely ,( obviously that reduced the price ) I received an email around a week later saying that due to phone's condition /technical fault they were taking a further 15% off their offered price ( it WAS immaculate and there was no technical fault) . How can one negotiate with that when the alternative is to ask they send the phone back and hope that they do. Poor, poor, poor. They are exploitative.
catchy ad didn't say that if your pohone had one blemish it gets marked down - prices paid seemed good but don't be fooled - unlike most operaors who require the phone just to be operating - these guys want it in pristine conditiion - and even if it is to you - to them it isn't!
Having said this their price at the end of the day still wasn't too bad
Apart from the 10% deduction from the original quoted price their service was good.
Submitting my 'used' blackberry- they took 15% off the cost (so was paid £85)- even though it was used not new as per my declaration online. Taking liberties you could say...
had a great and easy experience with cash my phone and would certainly use again.
i did not get what they offered in the first place but i accept there may have been some scratches on the phones for fare enough.
thanks for a good experience. fair and fast
Took far too long to process, the dent/scratch decrease of 15% not labelled specifically enough. This made it far too misleading as after 2 years of a phone you're obviously going to have a few scratches. What looks a great deal will only be given to few that keep their phones immaculate, as after discount the prices are the same as Envirofone, Mazuma etc.
Disappointed with the service and lack of communication, particularly when I phoned the customer helpline, which rang out every time and my messages I left and emails weren't responded to.
Just under 3 weeks to send the payment and it's only just been processed. Far too slow and not efficient enough
Offered me less than they said, said things were wrong with the phone and it was in perfect working order only had it 1 month!!
phone was in full working order. had been used for 18 months so had general wear and tear which supposedly knocks 10% off the first quote they give you. I sent off my phone and over a week later i recieved an email saying the keypad was broken, it wasn't. The LCD was broken, it wasn't. Faulty vibration... ermmm nope. and so on. It went from being quoted at £75 to £37. Don't use unless you want next to nothing for your phone !!!!!!
Happy with everything, they constantly kept me updated and everything was progressed within good time. A little gutted that 15% was deducted because the phone didn't match the terms and conditions, even though i thought the phone was in very good form! But still satisfied with the amount i received. Would recommend to anyone.
Took them a while to send out freepost envelope and so by the time my phone arrived the value had gone down on the website.
They deducted 15% for scratches which was fair cop, but it is snuck away in the T&Cs as the 'Used condition' doesn't immediately tell you that.
Got an email with the revised price and it was alright, not as much as I was expected but ok. Responded to their email regarding new price but it didn't get picked up by customer services (kind of my fault as it said to email a different address but I can't be the only person to make that mistake). Rang up and the guy was very helpful and just authorised the payment for me - immediate email afterward.
Should get my cash within 48 hours - fingers crossed!
Good service but takes longer than indicated
At first knocked 15% off the £10 because of cosmetic blemishes. I was expecting this having read reviews here. However, my sarcastic reply seemed to spur them into giving me the full £10, claiming they had made a mistake and don't knock money off for broken/non-functioning items, which mine was.
So - all right in the end!
No problems at all with Cash My Fone. The whole process took two weeks from sending in the handset to receiving the cash.
Found the service very quick and easy; however, my opinion of what good condition means differs from theirs as my phone was in very good condition but they still reduced offer price. I wonder how many times this get out of paying the offer price is used?
The price they offered for the Phone was not what i recieved, they said there where scratches on the case, but it was always kept in a leather case and had a screen protector. They also said there was a phone lock even when the phone was bought without a contract.
The problems started when when they said they had not recieved the phone and ended when the reduced thier offer by 25% which i acepted against my better judgement to save the hasle factor.
I originally got offered a good price for my handset from cash my fone, however i became frustrated with them when over a week after sending them my handset via special next day delivery, i had still not heard anything back from them. not even an email to confirm they had recieved my handset. so i emailed them to enquire how my order was coming along and a few DAYS later recieved an email to say they had revised my original offer by 15% due to a few marks on the handset and would i like to accept the offer. but they failed to tell me exactly what the offer price had become.
so i emailed them again asking what the exact offer price now was, too which i never recieved a reply. so frustrated and annoyed i emailed them again to say i would just accept the offer, i then recieved an email a day later saying my offer would be transfered.
very slow responses and customer service. would not recommend, and wont be using in the future.
Do I really have to say any more?
I gave my phone in. When I got the email I was told two different prices due to cosmetic damage however the actual phone wouldn't be affected. So this annoyed me however other than that good service
I was told I would get 64 pounds for my phone when cash my phone recieved and tested it they took 15% off the price becauce of the wear and tear when they was nothing at all wrong with the phone
Was told my phone had wear and tear so the value given was lowered - this is despite your terms and conditions saying wear and tear is fine. If it was damaged then say that and don't say it had wear and tear. I don't think it was damaged, but accepted the lower value as it's too much hassle to re-do. I think it's a tactic of yours - to say you'll get £x for a phone and then lower it when you receive it.
Money in my account yesterday. I posed my mobile phone last week and regiestered sale a day before posting.
They offer an fair price, dont trust there testing but still an ok price! Very slow at responding to emails and not very helpful!
Very disappointed in the service. Sent phone by special delivery which I had to chase to make sure it had been received 5 days later via various emails and phone call. Then they reduced the phone cashback due to damage, which i had already had a price for from another supplier and they had matched the cash my fone price, but I choose to go with cash my phone as they looked professional - big mistake wont be recommending them....................
Sent a Blackberry Torch which was less than a month old, in PERFECT condition, with full packaging, original accessories and additional unwanted accessories but these guys dropped their offer by approximately 25% stating that it "was not in an acceptable condition". Avoid!
I found cash my fone on a comparison site and decided to sell to them because of their price offering and turnaround time i.e. 48 hours. Although they did not offer the initial price offered but still it was a good deal for me.
Would still recommend this service.
Hello! This is a good site, but I think you should make it more stand out what the condition the phone is in, as one option was full working with battery, no water damage, no major scratches. Option two was major scratches not working, no battery, water logged ... So I put mine under the first one, because it's working properly and has no real major scratches... But other than that, great!
My contract recently come to an end so I received my free upgrade. I decided I wanted to stay with my old phone as I don't like the new Iphone 5 so I sold my phone in the box brand new to cash my phone. I sent it recorded delivery and did not hear from them for 10 days. I tracked my phone and know it was delievered in 2 days. Cash my phone then told me my handset did not meet theyre requirements and reduced my offer by 15%. I am furious and will never use them again.
Was disappointed not to get money we were promised but agreed to second offer
Great couldn't have been more satisfied!
My daughter did this first and was excited to think she would get some money, then was told it wouldnt be as much! Whilst waiting for her response I too did it and guess what I too was told the same! It is taking a lot longer than expected! WE both had an e-mail saying that you had not received the phone (about a week or so after it was posted) Is this normal?
Having said that I think the idea is great and I am all in favor of recycling and it is a bonus to get a little back! All in all I am happy with your service!
hi i sent an old phone to cash my phone,i got top price for it and a very fast service
i had free post and a very fast reply,my cash is now in the bank.
Took two weeks for them to process, got email saying they have found lots of faults and would pay less, when I phoned to enquire some of the faults magically disappeared and they offered slightly more but still not the full quoted price. Personally I feel slightly ripped off and definitely wouldn't use this company again, I wish I had listened to the all the negative reviews.
This was my first time in sending off a phone and in hindsight I should have stuck to what I know and put it on eBay...The website was good but response to emails was very slow.I sent the phone the next day after getting a price and was then emailed a few days later to say that the used phone I had sent had been used and therefore the price would be reduced by 15%. It was in very good condition but had been used which is why I stated it was used....In the meantime some info and a pre-addressed jiffy bag arrived which I didn't request as they had received the phone by then and there was no mention of them sending out the jiffy anyway. Got my reduced payment about 10 days after sending the phone so not as fast as stated but I did get paid. Not bad overall but room for improvement in a competitive market.
I looked on a comparison site to see how much I could get for my Blackberry, Cash My Fone was offering £79 which was much more than any other so it looked like a brilliant choice.
The website was easy to use but having since gone through the order process it is very misleading. It asks if your phone is brand new, used and working or used and not working. It's not very difficult to decide which one of these my phone is...so I chose used but working (which is was).
Having completed the order it said to send off the phone, I even received a jiffy bag after a couple of days because I hadn't sent it yet. I was impressed by this as the website stated it didn't provide them.
Having sent the phone a week later I received an email stating there was an issue with the order, and that the phone is not in a good enough condition to receive the full payment. I had the phone around 1 year, it was kept in a case the whole time and looked like new. Sooo they offered me a lower price for the phone, which I could have quite easily got elsewhere much quicker. This is very sneaky and tactical which I don't like, they offered an unrealistic price and then said the conditions did not adhere to the standards they have so then offer a much lower price. I accepted the offer as it would have been too much effort asking them to send it back. (Although, I spoke to a friend after about this and they refused the offer given to them and ended up receiving the full payment. Wish i'd have known that!)
So to summarise - They were deceiving, took a long time to process the order and then took even longer due to their 'issues' with the phone. They still haven't paid me the money which was supposed to be in my bank in 48 hours, I received a confirmation email Friday morning and it is now Monday night. Overall a bad experience and I would't use them again.
Lesson learnt - Go with a well known site and don't be greedy!
thanks a nice easy process just popped phone in envelope suplied and posted money paid to my account
