I am super pleased with my product which arrived as requested bar the computer glitch at Parcelforce. The customer service was second to none and Martin was extremely helpful about the situation providing a full update and offering a refund on the next day delivery charge. I would definitely recommend shopping here!

Good, quick service but with minor errors

I was pleased with the quick service provided, however, i have ordered 3 vouchers £20 each, but have received 1 voucher for £60 pounds which was not very well welcomed... if you give option of how you split vouchers it would be good if you stick to it.

Ordered a few items on next day delivery - came well packaged within the quoted timescale. Great selection of products too. I can't comment on the non-next day delivery service, but given my experience I'd say it would also be top-notch.

Ordered an item to a friend in the UK (I'm not a UK citizen). Live customer service guided me kindly trough the process of ordering. Item arrived very quickly as described. Would definitely shop again.

Fast but not quite accurate

I ordered a bark Lowe Alpine Airzone 35 pack, but instead received a black one, even though on the order summary it clearly stated bark. However, I needed to use the pack the next day, so couldn't return it. It was, however, delivered within the stated time frame, with a free gift.

Trustworthy.

I recently purchased a snowline sleeping bag by Mountain equipment.
It was not as warm as the reviews (including many independent and professional opinions) have suggested in my experience of using it so far...though very light.
I chose to also purchase a Mountain equipment Everest 'super warm' bag for very cold conditions.I'm tall and so need the extra long version.
This is a very rarely purchased bag due to it's intended usage being for very specific ultra cold conditions and is not a bag that any shops I am aware of hold in stock. It is also extremely expensive (about £600 plus retail though C and C were offering it at £520 which was cheaper than many other places)
When I rang C and C, they spoke to Mountain Equipment who assured them it was in stock at the mountain equipment store, (the XL version).
C and C then called me back about 15 mins after my call to them as they said they would, and took my payment (credit card) and arranged with Mountain equipment to send me the bag direct from Mountain equipment itself to save time and hassle of the bag going via C and C and then onto me.
I received a very apologetic call about 2 days later from C and C to say that they had been misinformed by Mountain equipment about the availability of the bag, which Mountain equipment didn't, after all, have in stock.
C and C were very professional and immediately credited me with my money back.
They were friendly and helpful in a number of other ways too.
I would say that if the quality of service can be gauged by how a company deals with 'adversity' in a situation which was not their fault then I cannot recommend them highly enough. (C and C say that they have now written to mountain equipment in 'no uncertain terms' explaining their dissatisfaction with being told that a specific bag was in stock when it wasn't and thus taking (a lot!!) of money for something that wasn't available)

You tried to charge me extra for FREE Royal Mail service to island

I have one complaint which means I shall not use you again.

You wanted to charge several pounds surcharge for delivery of sleeping bag to Isle of Arran. In order to avoid this I sent the item to a friend who I was planning to visit in England.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered you had used Royal Mail, which charges just the same to deliver to any Scottish island as it charges for mainland. This seems a huge ripoff and I can't imagine how you would justify it.

Took a week to post one of my 2 orders. 2nd order, haven't got the faintest idea about....has it been posted & not received? is it not in stock so not delivered? Why no email update? Bloody useless & won't use again.

Mr Moczulski's order was received by us on Thursday 4th October at 9:10pm. We processed and despatched the order on Friday the 5th. by Royal Mail. Expected delivery time was 2 - 4 working days. So the customer may well not have received the order until Thursday 11th. However, this would still have been within our expected delivery time scale. There is an option at our checkout for next working day delivery at an extra cost of only £3.00. The order would then have arrived on Monday 8th. October.

There were two items on the order. When we checked one of the items prior to despatch, we found that it had been incorrectly sized by the manufacturer, so were unable to send this item. We tried to talk to the customer by phone, but with no response, so immediately raised a credit memo and refunded the value of the goods. A copy of the credit memo together with an explanation was e-mailed to Mr Moczulski.

We feel that we have been somewhat unfairly criticised in this instance.

I love this shop, the prices are good (especially with the discount!) and I like being able to phone a real member of staff for some advice and measurements. They keep you updated on stock availability and the return option is quick and simple. Absolutely no reason to buy elsewhere!

I phoned and spoke to a very helpful man called Alan. when I asked how much a Trangia strap would cost by post he said £3.49. I was delighted and paid for this by credit card. It arrived promptly - with a transaction statement of £7.48! I had been charged £3.99 for p & p.
When I phoned and spoke to Alan and said that I would not have bought the strap if I had been told that it would cost £7.48, I was told that I was being tight and unrealistic.

Colour not as advertised

I bought the Mountain Equipment Stretchlite Guide Pant and the colour is not as advertised - the advertised colour and the one shown online is shadow gray, whereas the actual pants supplied have a green-grey colour, so I'm sending them back.

That's probably not Crag & Cave's fault, and other than this their service was great.

Excellent and recommended

They stepped in when another internet supplier, Expedition Hardware, failed to supply. Expedition Hardware are completely useless and very deceitful (took money, did not supply goods, no communciations etc, 4 weeks of delay finally sorted through the credit card company - avoid). OMM recommended cave Crag who gave excellent telephone advice and service and delivered product in 2 days.

The delivery was very fast as listed. I couldn't review the product straight away as I was waiting to go camping. Now that I've used the windbreak I can highly reccomend the product and cave-cragg.co.uk.

Great price and service

Friendly and intelligent

Everything went very smoothly with my order. One of the products I ordered (a chalk ball) was out of stock, so it was replaced with a similar more expensive alternative and the order wasn't held up. Not sure there's many others that would do this. Easy ordering, excellent communication couldn't want more when ordering from the internet.
