Very Unexperienced Customer Service Reps

I ordered a book by Damian Erskine. Delivery was to be 5 - 7 business days to Canada no tracking number is available. Going on 4 weeks and the book did not show up. When I called after 3 weeks they told me shipping to Canada is actually more like 15 days. I told them they should have mentioned that in their shipping rules. They asked me to wait one more week and to call if the book didn't show up. It didn't. After my second call today they agreed to ship me another copy. I asked them to ship it with a tracking number this time so it doesn't get lost again. They told me I would have to pay an addtional $35.99 if I wanted a tracking number. I run a business. If my client had been waiting 4 weeks for a product and it went missing, you can be damn sure I would send it out same day over night to make sure my client got the product. CD Baby - they ship using the same method, no rush, no tracking number, and I have no idea if this will arrive. The customer agent didn't even seem to understand the problem with this. Never ever order from them again.

disgusting, new, unprofessional, incompetent

I ordered a Stan Ridgway Partyball cd (and the big heat cd also by Stan Ridgway) from cdbaby.com on DEC 3rd. The partyball cd for $18.00 was advertised as autographed . Immediately after placing my order,, I got their standard but panicky order confirmation ( you should order something and check it out. Not comforting). Alerting me that my order may not arrive soon and I immediately emailed them back, expressing my concern plus a reminder not to forget that It is autographed.

They answered my email with a full page story telling me a parade would follow the postman to deliver my cds to the postoffice (proving that they received my email) copy of that story below in red type.


CD baby ships me a regular cd not autographed (they don't answer emails after the sale) and the next day the page for autographed partyball is removed from their website leaving a stupid "oh gnome" message (another example of an unprofessional and stupid company) Oh Gnome????????

So when they filled my order, they knew they don't have any autographed cds but they didn't even bother telling me They just send me out a regular cd.


I was so excited that I thought I had a great Christmas present to give my brother, an autographed Stan ridgway cd.


Not a very nice company cdbaby.com is , Knowingly mailing out things you DIDN"T order.. They are not good enough to carry Stan ridgway music. Instead of helping me, they mock me. They have not answered any of my emails. This is a sign of a new inexperienced company that is not professional in the least.

You want to Read the "cute", story they email to potentially aggravated customers? Here is a copy of the email they sent me instead of spending their time to make sure my order is correct:

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, December 3, 2013.

We hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. In commemoration, we have placed your picture on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Well, I hope they are extremely patient. They might want to make sure their website worked before they opened their doors for buisiness. Searching for any artist that they are not associated with is pointless.

This is a Disgusting company.

Sorry you had a bad experience. CD Baby sells CDs on consignment for artists. We've been in this business for over 16 years. We've worked with Stan for years as well. Our artists set their prices and create their product descriptions themselves. If we didn't have any autographed copies on hand that probably means Stan didn't send us any with his last shipment or he forgot to change his CD Baby listing to reflect his current stock. We will follow up with him.

If you would like to do a return, we'd be happy to accommodate. Sorry you don't like our goofy emails, we've gotten an overwhelming positive response from them over the years. But every once in a while, somebody doesn't appreciate our silliness and I guess that's the risk we take for being a little different. We mean no offense. Our intention is only to make you smile. No support at all.

I payed for 3 downloads, and i downloaded 3 different files, to find out 2 files was the same album.
I have contacted Cdbaby on email several times, to get the missing album i have payed for, but never got any response.
I will never use Cdbaby again.

Love it!

Tried it the first time to download an album. I used to live in NY, but retired and now live in Poland. I could not get this CD from Amazon.co.uk nor could I download it since I do not live in the UK. iTunes gave me grief in verifying my debit card. So decided to try here. It was easy to use PayPal and download both mp3-320 and flac.
After PayPal, I was taken to download page and proceeded to download and then unzip the CD. It could not have been easier. The CD? Chasing Legends. Tour de France movie soundtrack.

Gnomes for customer service reps.

I paid to download one song. I got an error message telling me it may take about 24 hours. Received an email from a gnome or something. Tried again the next day-same thing. Wrote an email requesting info on the status. No reply. Tried the next day. No song, nor any reply to my second email. Called this afternoon (5 days later) got a real person after being on hold for 5 minutes. Received an email stating they are having technical issues and to try again tomorrow. At least the email is from someone named Kevin (perhaps the gnome with a name.)
Needless to say, I am not impressed.

Excellent Customer Service

Tyler Mull is the best customer service representative for CDBaby just after talking to him he made all my YouTube videos commercial free. Because I am just a small time artist and have only 750 Fans they like the feel of getting commercial free videos, Mr.Mull excelled at making that happen! Thank You CDBaby

We sell CDs on commission. We work directly with artists and they get paid directly. Sometimes the CDs we sell are created by the artists themselves on CDr and they may not look or sound as professional as a major label release. We do display the product type 'CD-R' on the album page, so check there if you need to know ahead of time what kind of CD it is. Rest assured they are not bootlegs or illegal copies.

Crappy bitrate download

I recently downloaded an Album for $9.95 only to unzip it to find VBR MP3 of low bitrate quality (none higher that 160 kbs). I emailed CDBaby to complain but never heard back so I contacted the artist to tip him off.
What a rip off!
Update. Yes I finally did hear back from CDBaby and their only response was that the low VBR of their product was in their opinion minimally acceptable.
I contacted the artist again about the response. He was dissapointed and offered to ship me a CD free of charge.

Above & Beyond Customer Service

I purchased a double sided cd 6 months ago that seemed to deteriorate over time. At first, both disks skipped in a portable cd player, and then a week ago, they started skipping in the Onkyo player. I emailed cdbaby and they responded right away with an offer to credit my account so I could download the MP3 version (the cd is currently OOS). When I said I would prefer the cd version, cdbaby credited my account and wished me luck finding it. Kudos to cdbaby for hiring someone like Krysta, and kudos to Krysta herself for extraordinary customer service.

cdbaby.com never respond to your emails

i bought a bunch of songs from cdbaby.com and paid through paypal.
after paying i went to download the music only to find the downloads did not work. the webpage goes to a error message and said that it should be corrected in 2 hours or at worst 24 hours.
well 3 days later and 3 emails to the website , i have NO response from them at all.
i still do not have my songs.

horrible

I ordered and paid with paypal instant transfer on the 1st at about 9pm. When I hadn't received my CD's yet, nor any notification that they'd even shipped my order yet by the 14th I sent an email asking about them. On the 15th I got an email from their shipping department about how lovingly they'd sent my cds out that day, the 15th. What? I had to email them about my order before they even bothered to ship it? Then on the 16th I got an email from their customer service person in response to my email saying they had sent my cd's out on the 1st. Now, I'm not an expert, but I don't imagine they'd ship out an order on the 1st if they'd received it on the 1st at 9pm. So it would appear that in addition to the horribly late shipping, their customer service person didn't bother to look my order up to see it had shipped on the 15th and then lied to me about the ship date.
Nice.
Will NEVER buy from again.

rigtig god shop

rigtig god shop, har gemmen flere år gjort mange gode handler, altid uden problemer. De har rigtig meget god musik, også dansk, til billige penge.
Men man skal huske at holde sig under told grænsen ellers kan et godt tilbud bilve dyrt, jeg faldt således for et godt tilbud og kom et par kr over toldgrænsen, hvilket medførte en told på 51kr plus 52kr til post danmark for at udregne og opkræve tolden !! ikke sjovt.
