We ordered a bookcase from Charlies Direct 5 days later a bed side cabinet turned up!, we sent it back and rang Charlies, the young lady at Carlies promised to ring back that day with an answer but did not ring till the next day when she told us the item would be delivered that Friday, we stayed in but it never came and we are still waiting.
No call no item!
AVOID THIS COMPANY
Was very happy to pay the shipping charge to get a proper courier (i.e. not Yodel) to deliver the item, which arrived the next day.
I ordered a nest of tables in April, they arrived in May, i missed the courier i rang up they said they hjave been sent back to charlies, i rang them they said the courier had lost them, they said they would send out another set. In June still waiting never arrived rang back in July they said they would give me my money back noticed nothing had gone into my bank in August rang yesterday she emailed to say they hadnt paid me back but it will go into my account on 21st August!!!! mmm lets see if it does or not. They have had my money since April ive had nothing from them, communication discraceful i would never buy from these people again or recommend them to anyone.
placed order (9 gardman rolls), came back from inlaws to find 2 emails asking for a further delivery payment as it was a large order. Not sure how long you guys have been in business but you can't create a decent border with 1 or 2. Oh and getting your call handler to ask if I was happy to pay an additional charge was just stupid...what customer would be happy paying additional costs. Sort out your website and let your customers know exactly how much they are paying when they place the order.
i like my new cool box that we recently brought from you.
it's a small 8 L box but it's just what i need. it's called iceberg and comes in blue and white. for a change it was made in France and not china. it stays cold for up to 10 hours. very good value for the price we paid. many thanks.
Friends i bought a pair of Safety Shoes and bought online with phone,I found the staff so helpful when i phoned them that i will buy again from them.I got my shoes quick and was really pleased a big thumbs up from me to Charlies Direct.
I found the prices very competitive and the service extremely efficient. When I changed my mind about an order, it was dealt with in a friendly, efficient manner. Subsequently, the items arrived very quickly. I would definitely use this company again.

i ordered a makita drill set over a week ago and was under the impression that it would take maximum 5 days!
after 5 days i e-mailed to ask where my order was, i was told it was out of stock but in later that day and would be sent out on a next day delivery this was [Language] as i have still not recieved this product! i have e-mailed again to ask where the items are and suprise suprise no reply. Sorry charlie you have lost a loyal customer if my item is not here tomorrow i want a full refund and you can [Language]!!
I made an order and two days later received two conflicting emails, one confirming that my order was ready for dispatch and the other advising me that the product was out of stock.
I emailed back the individual who told me that the item was ready for dispatch to ask her for clarification but she did not reply to my email. So I then emailed the person who told me that my item was out of stock. They were courteous enough to reply and confirmed that the item was indeed out of stock.
What annoyed me was that when I looked at the item on their website it was still listed as 'in stock' and therefore anyone else ordering would encounter the same problem.
To give some credit though, I asked for a refund and this was immediate. Unfortunately this experience has put me off buying from them again.
I ordered a swing seat that I really, really fell in love with-it was a joint 21st anniversary present for myself and my husband.
We were thrilled with the cost which was £150 LESS than our local home store....
So we ordered it but then got an e mail saying it was out of stock.
On line companies should be on the ball at all times about stock control-there is no excuse for this in this day and age.
However, I had 2 e mails that were very kind and very apologetic so customer service was lovely (feel bad writing this!)
You just need to sort out your stock control and keep your website fully up to date for impeccable service.
Mistakes happen though and price wise this was a great offer.
I was on the hunt for a new tent and found the exact one I was after on Charlies Direct at a very competitive price i.e. brand-name tent at just over half the price.
I had some reservations about ordering with them at first because I had not heard of them before. However I decided to call before I ordered online and spoke with a lovely girl over the phone. I was only enquiring if they had the specific tent in-stock, and mentioned that I was hoping to get the tent by the end of the week (this was a Monday). She asked me for my name, and that she would try and fast-track the order as soon as payment was received. Within an hour I had ordered the tent and she had called me back (unprompted) to let me know that the tent had already been dispatched! I had the tent the next day!
I have already used it twice, it was brand new with everything as described. Could not be happier! Would 100% recommend them to anyone, and would 100% go out of my way to use them again.
Item (an SDS Drill) arrived with inadequate and torn packaging. When opened there were bits and paperwork (reg docs etc.) missing I'd normally expect to find and the manual had been thumbed through. It looked like a customer or catalogue return or ex-demo to me, plus it did not arrived sealed from the courier so who was to know. Charlies direct refunded, but they didn't like it and were quite snooty and unapologetic. Their customer rep claimed to be doing me a favour by not making a charge for returning the item to them as they did not regard it as faulty. I suspect they only fully refunded to try and not get bad feedback, but John Lewis they ain't. I will not be buying from them again.
excellent customer service. Overall, Very impressed with the company. Value for money and I like the personal touch where you get the one to one rapport with the sales team. Problems raised were instantly resolved. Fantastic after sales care
I wanted to order some Boston Bookcases for our church. I found these on other web sites, but reviews for those companies were so bad I did not want to risk it. I then found Charlies Direct & found them to be very helpful. They told me at the outset that the items came directly from the manufacturer & there was about a 4 week delay. It was actually a few days more but they always sent me an email to inform me. My order was looked after by Rosa who so helpful from day one. One shelf was damaged & within a few days a replacement was sent..
This company provides high tec service with good old fashioned customer service
well i had to wait for a item to be stocked ready to ship, even though it said it was in stock on the web, gave specific delivery instructions which werent passed on, then after waiting for the items, one was damaged...not really impressed. Service needs to improve and pass on the delivery instructions...they wouldnt be given if they werent important...obviously customers arent!
Order 25.06. Pay in advance 192 GBP, for goods and transport according price-list. After it they send me info that I must add pay 140GBP for transport. When I approximate check delivery price to me via DPD and Schenker(~40GBP). I want received correct weight/dimensions of my order. But don't received answer till now.
Despatch was delayed due to a missing item but the team sorted it quickly and re-arranged so I still could make my camping trip. Great service, made a difference. Unfortunately they couldn't control the English weather and my camping trip was rained out on the second day! :-)
I was after purchasing a pine TV stand and after spending some time trawling the internet I found Charlies Direct prices very competitive and the reviews very encouraging. I ordered the stand which arrived roughly 5 working days later and I am very pleased with it. I would have given my review 5 stars but for rather poor communication regarding delivery. It was only after delivery did I receive an email stating that the product had been dispatched. In Charlies Direct defense though I did receive an apology for the belated email. Good Value, good product.
