Took Tuesday off my work part of delivery arrived at 6.30pm after several phone call where I was told driver had tried to deliver but I wasn't in.....rubbish when driver did come he said he had forgotten about me......Another day I took Friday off to wait for rest of lost item Tuesday driver arrived said he didn't have my item but checked depot manager and my goods were on the way with a different driver... Once again no show, but another lie the driver had tried to deliver so they told me, I was in the house all day and no card had been put through my door. Also no calls had been made to the 3 telephone no I had given out for both days. The person I spoke to suggested I get it delivered to my work, as I now have no holiday days left, I am not sure my work would approve of a bed being delivered to my work place. This company is a joke they lie and aren't aware and don't care what it cost for working people to stay in for unfulfilled promises. I have never written a review before but I fell so strongly about 2 wasted day and the way I have been treated by this company.
To continue my saga Saturday morning arrived and before going to my work I got a telephone call from Tuesday delivery driver who I have now found out was called Eddie he had gone in to City Link offices on his day off and had noticed the remainder of my order still sitting and knew I had waited in all day yesterday for it and had decided to deliver it to me on his day off, before I started work. EDDIE you are a star and I nominate you for Employee of the day, week, month, year. City Link you have a fantastic employee. Thanks Eddie your a GEM
One driver flatly refused to come to my address for months, claiming "nobody was in". Calling customer support was useless. On more successful deliveries they havn't always came on the day they said they would, with some dubious excuse. A shame, it appears they have declined from the days when they were my preferred carrier.
I have now not left the house for over 55 hours for fear of missing my delivery. Day one: no show. Day two: told they had tried to delivery yesterday and had left a card in postbox. All lies! No card! Spoke to several people but cannot tell me when delivery will be. Day three: still no package, more lies and now told that it is possible package has been lost but not sure. Blah blah lies, severe incompetence, lies and more lies. DO NOT USE!!!!
I just couldn't believe it I ordered my goods on line on a Tuesday pm and received them on Thursday morning ,and what a delightful delivery man he even spared some of his precious time for a little chat . Shame all companies don't use City link as their couriers ! :)
Checked their website tracker. Clearly stated. delivery Friday 31 January between 7.30 and 17.30. Took day off work and waited and waited and waited. No Delivery. Phoned there customer services. Woman blamed supplier saying they hadn't got the product to City Link in time for them to deliver it. I asked why then had City Link posted a delivery date and time on their tracker. The woman spoke to me like I was an imbecile and told me again that the supplier had not got the product to them on time to make the delivery. I told her I fully understood that they had not got the product and therefore were not in a position to deliver it, so could she explain to me why the City Link website tracker - nothing to do with the supplier - said that the non existent parcel was going to be delivered to me on 31 Jan? She told me she wasn't responsible for updating the website!! Still waiting for the product.
For a long time I've been a fan of DPD for their one hour delivery window. It is great to see City Link following their lead, albeit with a two hour window. One day all delivery companies will let their customers know which hour of the day they will be delivering. Even though the shop or supplier pays the courier, they are paying them on the customer's behalf, as we've already paid for the service in the P&P charges for the goods.
I ordered some items from a company with next day delivery... I waited in all day and nothing. So next day i phoned the suppliers and they told me the tracking number of the parcel and said for me to check on the city-link site. When i checked it stated that the driver had tried to deliver but no one was in and he had left a card!!!! WRONG i was in and no card was left, today the item was out for delivery again, i waited in and at 4 o'clock i phoned city link who told me that the driver was on his way. " Yippee will be getting my parcel" WRONG AGAIN after waiting until 7 o'clock i check on the site and it says, Tried to deliver but no one was home ,left card. WRONG YET AGAIN I have now decided that i will drive the 25 miles into Swansea and collect the parcel. What a complete load of C--P My Advice is Give CITY LINK a MISS do not use...
I had a amplifier repaired and it was due to be delivered by clink. However after waiting a week it was not . I queried it and it was put in for delivery a day later. Nothing happened and it was again rescheduled for delivery after the weekend. It did not appear and on query I was told it was being sent back to the sender which it was 4 days later with damage to the feet. I have not tried the unit yet as I will be collecting direct shortly but it would have been good if they had actually attempted delivery and kept to their word and not damaged it. Words fail me but I suppose as they only had a 20 mile journey it was a mile too far.
We waited at home from work for a next day delivery that never arrived. They then rescheduled for the next day and we took another day off work and they sent the wrong delivery. When we called them back, the customer service lady was INCREDIBLY rude and unhelpful. Just told me "we're waiting for depot to reply and there is nothing you can do" and dismissed me. Having to take a third day off work for the delivery and they cant even guarantee that it will arrive on the third day. I have never seen service this bad in my life.
My parcel travelled a long distance in very bad weather conditions (torrential rain). Despite this, the parcel arrived in perfect condition and was only slightly delayed. The delivery guys were very professional and helpful and I would recommend this service.
This company should be put out of business. The customer relation people are a joke. The term customer service and City Link is certainly an oxymoron as it seems the staff are worse than useless. I actually cant find words to describe this so called courier and certainly wont be buying from any company that uses this crowd.
I have used city link twice in the last few weeks and both experiences have been terrible....... On both occasions I paid for a next day delivery service and both times my items were not collected on the specified date! I was informed late and there were a number of excuses made for not collecting. No compensation was given, not even a refund! completely dissatisfied with this service and would not recommend my parcel delivery or City Link!
Awful from the point they didn't arrive on the day booked to the point where they stole my parcel. Obviously they maintain it was lost. It clearly wasn't lost. The parcel was not scanned in as being collected (or any point thereafter), there were 2 other people on the van as well as the driver who no one can really account for and being a 15KG package about 3/4's a metre high it isn’t the sort of thing easily lost.
They searched all possible depo's including their lost property but it was not to be found. No one really seemed to take on the point that it is highly unlikely to have reached a depo in the first place.
I also had to constantly chase them. They not once contacted me with updates.
Do not use City Link. The worst courier service I have ever had the misfortune to use by a very long way.
Never have i had to deal with such incompetence and lack of customer service. Ordered some items from Amazon to be delivered to my home address. No one was in when the package delivery was attempted but yet there is a signature called "post" on the delivery form, i called City Link who said they have no record of where my package was delivered, who actually signed for the package, and said there is nothing they can do to help me find the package as they have a signature. I find it amazing that this company stays in business. DO NOT USE.
As everyone who has bought my taste of Christmas chocolates is aware, the reason for me knocking myself out has been to buy my daughter a final Christmas present and portrait, something she will be able to keep forever and something to help her with her exams (a laptop). I would like to thank you from the bottom a dying father’s heart.
However, this has been seriously blighted due to the Courier company City Link and the middleman, Interparcel. I sent a large shipment with them, thinking they were one of the biggest names. Unfortunately, the goods were severly damaged in transit and I have had to use some of the monies raised to replace the goods damaged by City Link. To top it off, after having the parcel of 21 boxes of chocolates for almost a month, they tried to send some (8) of the boxes back to me in a plastic bag!!
Some of you may be aware that the chocolates were due to be received by Homeless Beanies, part of Inn Churches in Bradford and supported by the Archbishop of York.
Now neither company is willing to accept responsibility for this despite explaining to City Link and Interparcel about my illness and forwarding on to them the reasons. It would seem that City Link should rename themselves Grinch and Scrooge and I hope that all you small business out there that use them as your couriers of choice, will seriously reconsider this, giving their appalling customer service, never mind the fact that they damaged goods clearly labelled fragile.
I am sending this to the press as well, as this companies, City Link and Interparcel, have ruined my last ever Christmas and would rather be jobsworths than show a heart. Please remember this when you want to use a courier in future and if you would like to email the company yourselves, as people who have searched your own hearts in purchasing the chocolates in the first place I am so sorry that I have had to write this and publish this but you have a very broken father who did nothing but try his best.
