The staff (especially Jasmine) we're helpful, honest & not the slightest bit pushy. They are more interested in you purchasing what is right for you & your needs than selling you the most expensive item.
I purchased my 6d with 24-105 lens which as promised arrived the following day.
Clifton Cameras sell genuine UK stock at very good prices. They matched the £150 cash back from canon meaning I only paid £1,749 for my 6d kit. I couldn't find a better price for genuine UK stock. On top of this they also offer a 2 year warranty.
My experience couldn't have been better & I will certainly buy from them again.
I really wanted a Pentax K-5 - And I found one at cliftoncameras.co.uk at a VERY good price, a used item in mint condition. I was buying from Denmark, so I had to wait for payment instructions. The very nice sales girl at the store took it down from the website for me before I paid, so I didn't have to worry about someone grabbing it out from under my virtual hands. All my impatient emails quickly responded to (takes couple of days to clear PayPal) and I recieved my camera in time for my planned photoshoot.
Just saw the price on a new lens I want £350 less than my local webshops can offer, So gues what I'm going to buy next : ) btw that s about the amount of money I saved on the K-5 - Which came extremely well wrapped with all acc and a Giottos protector on the LCD.
I am afraid that I have to give an extremely poor review with online ordering from Clifton cameras. On Monday I bought and paid for 2 hydrophobia covers and eyepieces after having been told that I would have these in time for the weekend as they were needed for an important event - and weather forecast is for heavy rain.
I paid through PayPal and was informed by email that items would be despatched as soon as payment was verified. PayPal payments also attract an extra 4% charge.
I emailed yesterday to ask for tracking number so that I could ensure someone was here to sign for it. No reply. I have sent several emails that have received no more than the automated "we will reply soon" message.
I resent the email today and received a message back
"I am aware V****** has passed this email through to our Boss who has access to the PayPal account. We are not sure if he is able to check this as he is currently away on annual leave. I will mention to V****** you have chased again and we will see what we can do."
Heard nothing further so phoned to see what was going on. Person that I spoke to informed me that boss was on holiday and V had been off sick since Tuesday (a fact that the person who responded to email did not seem to be aware of).
The covers have not been sent - and I could have sourced these elsewhere and had them in time. I am appalled at the level of service from this company.
I wanted to part ex a lens for another lens, and not only did Clifton offer the best price, the service was 5 star too.
It was so easy from start to finish, and was a pleasure dealing with them, Gareth especially.

Apart from being very patient and understanding with advice for me this company had my order delivered to my door the next day when I did finally commit to buying. The follow up support service is also excellent as when I rang again for advice (with no promise of purchase) after receiving my camera I was given numerous callbacks and follow up support even to the point of one of the top people there (Mark) spending a couple of hours talking me through installing Dropbox onto my PC and uploading pictures for him to look at and see whether there was an issue with the camera or not. I worked in customer service years ago and prided myself on looking out for the customer and the service I received was completely on a par with what I always tried to offer...the best. I will be purchasing my upgrade from them over the next couple of days and it will be my pleasure. I would like to add that two years warranty are offered instead of one, it's just the icing on the cake. Paul W.
