When going on holiday in the USA, I chose Columbus Travel to be the provider form my travel insurance! it seemed easy and well orginised. BUT! unluclky i feel ill and needed hospital treatment. When I arrived back I contacted Columbus Travel as advised but was forward to what i suppose is the company that deals with the actual claims, Global Claims.
This has been a horrid experience, first, the bill was sent directly to them from the hospital, meaning I personally never recieved this bill, yet they keep writing me asking me to provide a bill! secondly, i forwarded all the paperwork I recieved from the hospital and then revcieved a letter saying this wasnt suffcient! I call Global Claims ad was informed that, no everything was okay. Yet, 1 week later i recieved a letter asking for the excat same information. ALL INFORMATION I HAVE ALREAD PROVIDED. I then called Global Claims last week and was very upset. I was put throught to the manager, who apologised and said that yes, they do need more extened medical records, but there is a form for me to fill out and give back to them, that allows them to uptain those directly from the American hospital. She promised to email me this for and guarantee me that she would make sure the correct documents would be retrived. I NEVER recieved this form. and i didnt hear ANYTHING!! i then call back today and was told that because it will cost Global Claims $250 to send this form to the agents in the states, they cant offer this service to me anyways and that I now need to contact the hospital myself!! The reason i am writing this on ColumbusDirects trustpilot is because Globa Claims, conveinetly enought, dont have a TrustPilot page, and if that is the company Columbus Direct choose to have handeling their claims, surely they are also responsible for the treatment their customer recieve after a claim is made. I am disguested by the treatment i have recieved and i will make sure i warn as many people as possible about this!!
Very easy to use and I have used it on several occcasions. I do a lot of travelling and have bought insurance from Columbus Direct on several occasions. Not only are your policies excellently priced, the structure is very clear and the site is one of the easiest to navigate on the Internet. I don't even bother shopping around anymore! Keep up the good work! As yet, I haven't had to claim on a policy. I hope that if I do, my experience of the company is as positive as when buying policies from you.
