Great Service and Top Notch computers

I made my first purchase from computerplanet and i have to say this purchase was much better than I expected. After looking at the specs it was exactly what I was going to build. Would have cost me more had I build it on my own. Very fast, I'm able to max out the graphics on every game I've played. This is an excellent quality build, the tower is very strong and sturdy.
I play alot of different computer games ranging from (Guild wars 2, World of Warcraft, Battlefield ect.)and it runs everything i play at max settings really well. Im on my computer around 5-8 hours a day and it runs smooth and quiet. Best computer I have ever owned!
very fast shipping, and just as the title should suggest this is one powerful rig and a outstanding price! I would recommend this computer to anyone hardcore PC builder to first time PC gamer! And it still has so much room for improvements from RAM to the graphics card or even add a SSD if you so desired.

computer planet diabolical customer service

Computor Planet do not answer their phone, not even the sales line, nevermind the service dept.. this seems pure arrogance, one can only communicate through a ticket system.
I purchased a computer in November which unbeknowns to me showed blue screen in the first 15 minutes. I was alerted to this situation early December and on 2 occasions spent 90 mins at their request trying to update sofrware when it is plainly a hardware fault..
The computer has been back twice with lengthy periods of "testing" and a promise to replace ALL components which they did not do.
It has just been returned for the second time in 8 weeks and on receipt still showed a blue screen after the first 10 minutes.
This saga has been going on for 2 months, they do not appear to have made any changes to the hardware, blaming peripherals which work on 2 other computers.
This does not seem to be a "caring" or professional company and after such poor performance I will not reccoment this company



Keyboard, monitor and mouse were new and worked ok on 3 other computers

Customers PC was collected and refunded. Fault due to customers external hardware plugged into the PC which we did not have which made it impossible for us to resolve the problem.

This company certainly has its problems. But I don't think that will stop a repeat purchase!

I purchased a computer of these guys about three years ago for nearly £1000. It did take well over the expected delivery time and when I quizzed them I got quite a belligerent responce equating to "you want us to test it don't you?" They claimed they tested all the machines thoroughly and therefore build times could be longer... fair enough (although I would have thought the build times accounted for that). However, after receiving my computer and turning it on for the first time the power supply almost immediately exploded. Turns out I chose the wrong one (not knowing much about PC's). Its funny that their 'rigorous testing' didn't pick up this fault.

However, the PC was then shipped back for free, repaired quickly and returned (although I incurred a cost in upgrading the power supply). I vowed to myself that I would never return to PC planet, until now.

After surviving three good years with very few problems I have had to contact PC planet again not that my PC has almost completely disintegrated. They have been incredibly helpful in sorting out my insurance claim and the simple fact of the matter is. They are the cheapest around! So, I think I'll take the risk, call the last one a one off bad experience and go back to a company who, at the end of the day, did build a quality machine.

Excellent company but still room for improvements.

I ordered a custom PC from computer planet. I wasn't sure about the whole thing as I read some bad reviews about the company. However shortly after the order I started receiving updates from them and they kept me updated with the build status. After UPS mess up with the delivery my pc finally arrived. It was extremely well built, Everything was marked clearly and brilliantly packed. I'm one happy guy :)

PROS:
1. Excellent product. Great quality.
2. Extremely good prices.
3. Excellent communication and customer services.
4. Best packaging I ever i seen in my life. Seriously its like crown jewel secured in a box. I'm taking this PC abroad and this saved me so much stress! Can't thank you enough!

CONS;
1. Using UPS. Cause UPS is a terrible delivery company. You will lose customers if you keep using them. I don't even know where to start with these people.
2. I ordered 32GB RAM and also windows 7 home premium. After receiving my PC I realized that my PC was only using 16GB of RAM as its the maximum supported by the OS. So I had to upgrade it to Ultimate at a cost of £125. If they have told me this earlier when I ordered it would have been great cause now I wasted £125. This is something they have to work on. If I'm spending £1500 at least I expect some sort of technical support here before I place the order.

If not for the OS+RAM issue I would have given 5 stars! If you are looking to buy a custom PC make SURE TO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. They will build a great pc and deliver you within the time only if YOU tell them what you want. Don't depend on them.

Very Good

Never heard of them before and pitted them against another on line PC builder. When it came to the crunch I just had a gut feeling these guys would deliver what I wanted and to boot they was £83 cheaper for the same spec / delivery.

Slight confusion over the next day delivery as the billing and delivery address was different - it is stated on their website about verifying if different. Emailed them about concern - replied within an hour it was a standard email and i'd have it next day as ordered. It arrived next day before 10am which impressed me no end.

Product arrived and the packaging has to be given 5/5. Honestly it was so well packed I thought i'd ordered the Crown jewels instead!

Fired her up and all seems well, had a couple of freezes which I 99% believe was it didn't like me charging my blackberry on the USB port and maybe looking for online drivers? don't know but disconnected and no freezes since.

Customer support (about delivery concern) from someone called Brain was re-assuring and things where sorted and delivered as promised. I'm giving them 5/5 as although I haven't really stressed the PC with some hard core gaming or photo editing everything build wise just feels like quality to me.

Stress free. Great company!

Computer Planet was brilliant! This is by far the coolest and most powerful pc I've yet to own. Fantastic value for the price. The delivery was truly above and beyond what I'd expected. I'm very impressed! Their customer service is unparalleled. I'll be recommending Computer Planet to friends and family.

Great computer.

i ordered a computer from this company and it is great. I have had no issues with it. It runs supremely. I waited a little while just to see if there would be any issues. Usually when you buy something it works really good for a while, and then after a month or two it starts working raggedly. But, there computers work well. I haven't a single problem. Thank goodness for that, because everyone needs a good computer.

ordered a computer from them, it was a good price and haven't been disappointed when it came within a couple of days. great customer service as they dropped me an email (not automated) a few days later to check it was all working OK and i had no problems.

A professional, courteous & efficient experience

I needed a new computer and trawled through PC Advisor. I like the pricing and the delivery dates and their pricing seemed very keen. I submitted my order and updates on-line and received an e-mail that this will be with me within 48 hours. I actually rang to company because I thought they had made a mistake bearing in mind my upgrades and they had, it was with me in 45 hours. The computer works like a dream, smooth, quiet and effortless. Top company and thank you.

Unreliable

My experience with Computer Planet was very underwhelming. They 'mislead' you on build times, when the final date arrives they move it back further still. I believe it is around £200-£300 for a speedy build, shockingly expensive. So realistically the only other option is the free method.

When the computer arrived the whole thing stunk of second hand smoke, whether that was Computer Planet or not (possibly delivery) it's something that reflects badly on them and they should be in control of.

The free surge protection extension plug that was meant to be in my order did not arrive with my computer, after e-mailing twice and getting no response through their ticket system I gave up (because 6 months later I no longer have the ticket ID they claim the ticket never existed). I have still not received this and bought my own instead.

The computer is meant to be checked and tested, if they had tested it properly they'd have known the graphic card I requested was not up to scratch and would crash constantly making the entire system unusable - receiving a rating of just 1.8 on Windows Experience Index. This card was over £100. I have since had to buy a new one and a new PSU to cater for the new graphics card. Which now receives an 8.9 in the Windows Experience Index rating.

Computer Planet should know that some customers are not fully aware of how to build a computer and what is required. If they are putting together a computer that clearly has a very weak component that won't run properly the customer should be notified and a recommendation made. This would have saved me £100+the PSU cost and would have also got them a better sale as I'd have upgraded both during the original build. Instead they just took my money, built it (eventually) and moved onto the next customer.

Neither of the two 3.0 USB's on the top of the Cooler Master Silencio case work either, whether that's a faulty case or they weren't 'connected' in the build I do not know. But that obviously wasn't check prior to shipping.

(UPDATE: Since this review Computer Planet has told me:

"You selected a case which has USB 3 internal headers and requires this type of connection on the motherboard. The motherboard you selected does not have this and would have cost you an additional £64 in selecting a motherboard which has this rare USB 3 internal header."

This is another case of Computer Planet just building a computer regardless of the outcome, as long as they are paid for it. They were aware the motherboard was not fully compatible with the case, they were aware of all the details above even the cost of the upgrade I needed but did not mention it at all.)

I could have gone back to Computer Planet for repair/replacement/fix but I needed the computer, and with lack of attention to detail in the first place is there any confidence in sending it back? Returning it for repair wasn't an option (6 days total. 1 day to collect 5 days repair). It should have been done right in the first place, they took long enough... Besides with no replies to my tickets about a simple missing 'free gift' extension plug from my order, what was the likelihood they'd be helpful in this instance!

UPDATE:

Computer Planet continue to 'report' this review for TrustPilot moderation with no just cause. They are taking advantage of a loop hole in the system that allows a company to report a review straight after it has been approved. Doing this takes the review offline so it isn't visible to new customers and the bad practices of the company stay hidden. The review has been reported by Computer Planet 3-4 (to date) times now over the course of just 3-4 days. It has also been approved by TrustPilot each time who have confirmed to me there is no reason for it to be removed.

Computer Planet also contacted me asking me what I would be happy with in order to remove this review from TrustPilot. I will not be removing this review as it is tactics like that that give a false impression of a company. I wish customers before me had not taken down reviews so I had a better idea of Computer Planet.

Computer Planet offered to send me the surge protection plug, however I bought my own now so I declined. They also offered to collect the graphics card and test it for faults. I never claimed or believed the card was faulty. It was a failure in customer service and support on their part that they fitted a card that wasn't powerful enough for the rest of the computer (Just like the USB/motherboard issue). They told me specifically they would return the card to me at MY cost.

Their motivations are not to please an unhappy customer and right their list of wrongs, they are simply aimed at getting a bad review about them removed.

UPDATE:

Computer Planet have replied claiming to have offered to resolve all 3 issues, I would like to let this rest but this is a lie and I also am not keen on the way they phrase 'the customer refused' (I politely declined 1 real offer and I assume any offer made was with the side note of removing this negative review in return) so I would just like to clarify this with my comments and a screenshot of our exchanges as proof. They have offered to send me the free surge plug gift that is the only real gesture they made. I however told them I already purchased one myself so had no need for it.

They also offered needlessly to check the graphics card for faults, it isn't faulty it was too low end for my computer spec (32GB ram and 8 core 4.00GHZ) so that is a pointless task which will result in me paying for the return of the card - which they clearly outlined would be a cost I would have to pay.

They also never offered ANY sort of resolution for the motherboard, not a single resolution for it. Neither did they offer anything for the PSU which was required to power a graphic card fit for the computer spec, which I believe I should have been advised on (I had to upgrade from 500W to 1200W)

I just wanted to clarify that. I have however sorted the computer myself out of my own pocket, I want nothing from Computer Planet and they have offered very little. I am simply posting an honest and transparent review of my experience purchasing from them so others understand there is a possibility of problems if they were to but a custom built computer from them. This is something I'd have appreciated while reading reviews on TrustPilot prior to ordering.

Linked below are my exchanges with Computer Planet to prove they offered 1 real solution (which was to send me another surge plug) 1 half gesture of checking the graphics card and returning it to me at MY cost and no gesture of fixing the motherboard issue and no gesture of regarding the PSU issue)

We are sorry to hear you are not happy.

In respone to the points you raised:

1) We charge a high abount for Express 5 Day shipping because of the increased cost in building, testing, shipping and deliverng a PC within 5 days. If a customer was ordering a £400 PC then charging a lower fee for express build of £30 maybe a more "reasonable" amount in your eyes. We do however sell lot's of systems costing £2000 to £5000 which are more complicated so our higher express charge covers us for handling orders like this.

2) No one in the production area or offices is allowed to smoke inside by UK law. It would be impossible for us dispatch a PC which smelt of smoke. I cannot explain how this could happen in transit unless it was sat next to another box in transit which smelt of smoke. I am very sorry to hear this.

3) You ordered a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti (AMP!) this is not a budget graphics and not low end. The PC was ordered without Windows so you were responsible for installing all software, drivers and updates. If you had contacted our technical support team we could have helped you resolve the problem I suspect would have been not installing or installing a very old GPU driver. You have never contacted tech support about this. If you upgraded the PSU then this was your choice because you upgraded the graphics card to a much higher model rather than contacting our tech support team to help you resolve this issue.

4) Every support ticket sent to us is assigned a unique tracking number and the date/time/ip is stored and viewable online in the customer area. You contacted us 3 times about your order and 2 were replied to and one closed with no response at your request. None of the tickets were to advise the free gift was not included with the PC. It's technically impossible for us to not reply to a ticket due to the way our ticket system works. If you had contacted us and created a ticket you would have been given a ticket number and we would have replied and dispatched the free gift. Our records are showing it was dispatched. We will contact you via email today to arrange shipment of this.

5) You selected a case which has USB 3 internal headers and requires this type of connection on the motherboard. The motherboard you selected does not have this and would have cost you an additional £64 in selecting a motherboard which has this rare USB 3 internal header. (order was placed January 2013 before and USB 3 on front cases was new then).

6) The PC would not have needed to come back as the only problem you had was with the graphics card. If you had called our support team it could have been resolved at no cost to you and you would not have needed to upgrade the PSU or graphics card. You decided not to contact us and pay for upgrades.

We have spoken to the customer on 22/07/13 who advised he never had a ticket number from our support system which is automatically given when you contact us. This was the reason we did not contact the customer about his surge strip. Offered to send the surge strip but the customer refused.

Offered to collect the graphics card (GTX 650 not low end) and test it and the customer refused.

Advised the customer that when he ordered the case the new type of USB3 internal header was VERY rare on motherboards and not supported.

Offered to resolve all 3 issues but the customer will not allow us.

Great Price, Even greater customer service

I purchased a PC, Monitor and some other bits and bobs for £990.90 which considering the fact that I got an Intel I5 Processor and top quality parts is a fantastic price. I chose one of the next day delivery PC's but due to an issue with my address this was due to be delayed by a couple of days, excluding the weekend! However I notified them using the Live chat service and within an hour was contacted and given an alternative option to get the parcel on time. I ordered the Item on a Wednesday and after the huge help I got from the guys at computer planet I now have an amazing gaming rig in time for the weekend!

Slow, but the Best Price by Miles

I placed an order on the 4th of March 2013 for a system worth about £1,200. I was very apprehensive about the order due to the numerous nightmare cases about this company on the internet. However, I decided to go with them due to their very good prices - probably £600 cheaper than any competitors. They also have a good, but not industry-leading custom build engine.

Although the company gives no guarantees on delivery, it was schedualed to arrive on about the 19th of March. So I was pleased to get an email the day before informing me the system was in quality control and would likely be dispatched within 24 hours. However, I didn't hear anything back until the 22nd of March when the system was again entered for quality control and should be dispatched... However, I didn't hear anything back until the 26th of March when the system was again entered for quality control and should be dispatched within 24 hours. This time is was dispatched and arrived on the 28th of March.

The packaging was very good. I've now been using the system for 3 months and had no problems. Has played Crysis 3 fine - no crashes etc; Photoshop works quickly and I can import MySQL databases many times fast than on my old computer.

I would have given them five stars if the ordering process was better. I would have liked to know what went wrong for it to end up going to quality control 3 times, but I guess there were some faults and it is good that these were fixed.

When you are ordering from this company you are getting high-end spec for the lowest prices. And for this, there is a large comprimise in turnaround and customer support.

Also, I spoke to a sales guy on live chat. I'm not a hardware expert, but I knew more than this guy. He gave me flat-wrong info. So do you own research before buying.

Fast Delivery - Excellent Service

I ordered a PC from C.Planet, after reading reviews online I was worried it would arrive very late and I would have to send it back.
To my surprise it came much quicker than expected, I ordered it on 'Estimated 9 working days' and it came in 7 working days, also it worked perfectly, all I had to do was install some drivers, I thought I would eventually find something wrong with it because of some bad reviews I had seen. I found that the SSD I ordered with it was not listed on 'My Computer' so I contacted computer planet by eMail, and they got back to me in five minutes, all i had to do was download a program t establish a link between me and the C.Planet employee, and we could communicate, he gave me an extremely helpful guide, it turned out the SSD was there a wire had just come loose, so he helped me fix it, in under 30 minutes it now works perfectly, I did believe I would have to send it back if I wanted to install my SSD, but I didn't.
In conclusion Excellent delivery, customer service, and Desktop

Great PC for a brilliant price, with many free and useful extras!

I ordered a custom gaming PC, designed every aspect from a great range, every item compared with the others to ensure compatibility. They gave helpful and quick responses to my queries (which are easy to submit in a comments box type manner). When they suggested to change my cooling fan, they gave me a better fan without the extra charge. They give you a number of free promotional games, and all the software you need to get started. The price of monitors and extra components (although i didn't purchase any from them) are easily the best priced on the web (exceeding even that of eBay and amazon). The computer took notably longer to arrive than they assumed it would (UPS were very reliable though, delivering exactly when they said they would). They give you 3 days to report any damage, and suggest you keep your packaging in case you need to return it for repairs. (Warranty option available of course). I ordered during a promotion of free P&P, and so saved even more money. They ensure you get all needed paperwork, guides and manuals, and put the PC through a "rigorous" testing phase. Brilliant service, and I can't imagine a better place to buy a PC.

Excellent Service!

I recently ordered a custom-built PC from Computerplanet and I'm very happy with my purchase. I had a few specific things that I needed in a PC and Computerplanet was able to answer all my questions and deliver exactly what would work best for me. The price point was very competitive and I was happy at how fast they shipped it to me. My new computer runs smoothly, has lots of power and all the memory I could need. Overall, the whole experience of buying a custom-built PC from Computerplanet was easy and hassle-free. This is definitely the best place in the UK to purchase a custom PC. Highly recommend!!

Happy Gaming!

Like many parents of a child who loves computer gaming, I had no idea what would be required when my son asked for a new computer for Christmas. He wasn’t much help as he’s more interested in playing the games than knowing how the computer itself works. All he knew was that it had to be faster than his current one so it wouldn’t be so ‘laggy’. One of his friends from school had bought a PC through Computer Planet and recommended them so I gave them a ring. After a very informative conversation during which they asked exactly what games he played so they could tailor it to his needs, we had a set-up in mind and a price. I did some further research online to compare prices before ringing them back but no other sites were able to match Computer Planet’s value for money. The PC arrived in plenty of time for Christmas and was well-packaged. My son is over the moon with his new computer and I’m delighted with the overall customer service and price. I would definitely use them again!

Very HAPPY 1ST time customer

I was very pleased with the service that computerplanet gave me. I am not a computer savvy person so I didn't specialize anything but the selection of pre-designed computers allowed me to purchase a computer that fit my gaming needs. This was my first time using Computerplanet and I would recommend them to family and friends.

Brilliant service

I ordered a PC from computer planet and was by no means disappointed. It is a great piece of kit and since it was a custom PC I was shocked at how fast I received it. It was actually really good value for money, I just wanted a future proof desktop PC that would allow me to do day to activities but I also needed to be able to run games for my family to play on. That's why I went for a quad core with 8GB of RAM, this was a great choice and will be for a long time. I really love this computer and the choice of shells is amazing, really impressed with the Black ATX tower case. For the money it feels very sturdy and long lasting.
