I was so trepidatious about buying glasses online. What if they weren't right? Are they really the same frames? I can tell you I am so happy I did. I can't tell from a picture what a frame looks like, so I went to a local store, tried on a few dozen pairs and found what I wanted. I then bought those from cool frames.
I need prescription lenses and that had me nervous too. I got my prescription from a doc and sent it to cool frames along with my choice of frames. I picked the best Cryzal lenses, scratch resistant and anti glare. They were half the price of my regular optometrist I've used for years. (And that includes the "discounts" the doc gave me for being a regular customer.
I had a few issues along the way. Things that weren't CoolFrames fault. The prescription needed tweaking (doctor error), I chose a tint I didn't end up liking. CF took them back twice and redid them. At no extra cost. Talk about service above and beyond! Truly, you can trust them. Every once in a while things go wrong. The mark of a good company is how they handle the issue if it does.
I suggest if you get prescription lenses, you have your optometrist measure your pupil distance (or just ask what the PD was on your last pair of lenses). There is no place for it, but ask your doc to measure your old glasses for some kind of curve. They used a little gadget, measure some kind of curve on the lenses, and that affects whether your new script makes you feel like the floor is ten feet below you. I'd never heard of that measurement before, but I'll never suffer through the "you just have to get used to it" funhouse feeling again. My numbers were 3.5 and 3.75 if that helps your doc know what I'm talking about. Even if you don't buy lenses from CoolFrames, have that done.
Glasses are so crazy expensive and now I can afford to buy prescription sunglasses as well. Between my husband and I, we saved over $500 on two pairs of glasses with great lenses. (I only ever get the best lenses possible).
They weren't overnight as far as speed goes, but they were as fast as the doc's office. At the very least, buy the designer frames from them and save money there and have your local place do the script if you are nervous. But really, two of had great results with this company and mine had some issues.
I wouldn't bother to write a review because it is tedious and who am I to tell someone that a product is good. But, this company went so far above and beyond I just had to take the time. Plus, if I can save anyone out there some money, I'll be happy.
It has been 8 weeks and I still don't have my glasses! The first pair I received came in the normal time frame. The sent the wrong color. (I wanted color #3) Apparently the website defaults to color #1 when you go back into it and put in your scrip after saving it to your cart. So that may by my fault for not double checking. Paid the shipping and send back. Couple weeks later I received the next pair. Still the wrong color!!!!! They sent color #2! Now I have been waiting a week for a return label to send these back to get the right ones. It will probably be 10 weeks before I get the right ones.
I wanted a pair of silhouette rimless frames and could not find the frames anywhere in the United States, I saw Coolframes online and called them, a wonderful man named Louis ordered my frames from Austria and customized the lenses for the perfect pair of prescription sunglasess at half the price I would have paid at my optometrist. I will order all my glasses from here from now on, they are the best.
There's a star missing only because I ordered prescription glasses from three other places in the same week, and these were the last I received. Otherwise, I had no trouble whatsoever with this experience. I got a gorgeous Etnia Barcelona frame with prescription lenses shipped to Chicago in about two weeks.
I'll definitely order from them again when I want a designer frame for discounted prices. I'll just make sure to choose a faster shipping option next time.
I purchased my Tiffany&Co eye glasses from Coolframes.com this past month and I am super happy with my purchase. The customer service is great and they match prices which I LOVE. THE GOOD: Great prices, almost $100-$50 cheaper than other sites
THE BAD: They sent different frames from what the site shown. They didn't get the prescription correct in both lens.
THE UGLY: They admit the frame sent is different than the picture shown BUT it would still be considered CUSTOMER PREFERENCE to swap frames so I would have to pay for shipping to and from the company. It was their policy. I sent them the frames back. They said, it will still take 7-10 business days once they received my return even if they made the mistake, it was their policy.
I was told NOT to buy glasses online because they won't get it exactly correct because of my type of prescription, now I believe my optometrist.
I got to Cool Frames looking for good prices and indeed I got the best price after rebates.
Usually best prices come with lousy impersonal services and assistance, but that was not the case. All information I needed during process where addressed in a kind and satisfactory way.
I will definitely come come back and recommend.
Great online glasses retailer! Submitted a price match for Tiffany sunglasses, the owner Louis got back to me right away and gave me the same price as the cheaper competitor's ($100 discount from coolframes.com price). As soon as I paid, they sent me a tracking and it was delivered in less than 3 days. Sooo happy! The sunglasses came with all original packaging, hard & soft case, box, and certificate of authenticity.
Coolframes price matched the best price I could find. However I ended up paying less overall because of great lens pricing and free shipping. They were so helpful..answering all my questions and making sure I got everything I needed. I will buy from Cool Frames again. Hands down, superior on every level. Really? I find it hard to believe that in less than 12 hours, those glasses went out of stock. Now as an owner of multiple companies, I would have told the customer that there is a low amount of items in stock so please hurry, or better yet, I can hold a pair for you. Knowing that this is a potential customer who has been reading not so great things about our company but is trying us out anyway. [Name], you dropped the ball. You could have easily made a new customer if you were just up front about the glasses. Good Lord, so many people in business and yet they have no idea how to run a company.
I purchased my new Rayban Frames and single vision lenses, having the Crizal Advance Coating and the Transitions coatings. I had a problem with my lenses initially, and i thought that trying to save a bit of money by purchasing online - just got me. Not so....I received excellent service and Louis from Coolframes took responsibility for a problem I had with my lenses and resolved the issue. This issue was addressed the best it could have been dealing through the mail. I got a great pair of glasses, - the prescription was right-on, at a price i could not get close to through any local office. It was also the best price i found online and the website was one of the easiest to navigate. Great communication and customer service from Coolframes. I highly recommend them and would purchase again.
I am a big big internet shopper and quite discriminatory. Their Sales Rep Louis was very helpful and replied quickly to each of my emails. My new Randy Jackson 3000 is Awesome. I was amazed at the terrific service and product I received from coolframes.com. I shopped around online and found the frames I wanted at a very low price. I then saw a lower price, though I couldn't figure out whether the order would end up cheaper or more expensive with my high-index lenses. Louis at coolframes.com matched the other price and still gave me a coupon discount at the end. In addition, he was polite, conscientious, and informative throughout our email exchange, and he even followed up afterward to find out how I was doing with my glasses a few days after I received them. I received exactly the glasses I wanted - authentic Guccis, with 1.74 high-index lenses for less than $350 - in less than a week from the date of my order. I was a little squeamish about ordering my glasses online, but now I don't know if I'll ever buy glasses in an optical shop again!

Not only did I love the frames that I got, but the customer service was outstanding. The lenses were a bit large (my fault) and they were happy to talk to me and resolve the problem. So refreshing to get a human on the line who was willing to work with me and make suggestions. Coolframes.com will become my new optician for all of my eyeglass needs in the future!
Also- I received my glasses in less than 2 weeks- which is faster than most storefront opticians can do.
Kudos to their sales and service teams! Even in the midst of their latest blizzard in NYC they were able to switch their website to a backup server, and I was able to call and order my new glasses. I ordered a frame and prescription lenses. The total time from order to receipt of the product is 20 days. The UPS tracking number sent was problematic as no info was available online from UPS. However the customer support person (Kelly) was very helpful and yes my glasses arrived on the day as she informed me. I had another support person whose service was nothing to write about. So, without Kelly, this would not have been a positive experience. (She deserves some serious recognition.) Overall, the glasses are very nice (genuine, I can't comment on the previous review that the frame is fake), the lenses are good quality (I paid for the expensive AR and hi-index polycarbonate, and there is definitely AR coating), and the total cost is very competitive. I am satisfied though they took a week longer than other merchants. And Coolframes should promote Kelly to support manager as she knows the paradigm: the customers come first (because without us, the business would not exist).
Polite and efficient service and they organised for me to pay with PayPal. My fabulous JFRey Naomi glasses were sent to Australia super fast and UPS kept me informed of progress all the way. I ordered from the Cool Frames subsidiary, www.sunsrus.com and was thrilled that they were able to locate a discontinued frame for me -- in one day! I had already lost six months going through a competitor, www.go-optic.com, which told me for months that the same frame was on back order. Then, Go Optic finally told me that the item was discontinued. By contrast, Suns R Us had the frame right away somehow! I received it immediately. I definitely recommend and trust www.sunsrus.com and the people whom I dealt with behind the website.
I recently purchased a pair of Dior eye glasses including the Essilor lenses, coolframes even price matched from another web site. I ordered frames and lenses but did it through a very helpful customer service agent named Louis. Unfortunately, one or the other of us miscommunicated and I received lenses without AR coating and not polished. I'm currently located in Australia and while the thought of having to go through the process wasn't pleasant, Louis confirmed they'd re-do the order and charge me the difference.
I sent them back and they noticed some blemishes on the frames. Not only did they replace the lenses (about $300) they replaced the frames and sent them back exactly as they'd promised.
The fact that they stuck with the sale and stood by their product is a testament to the quality of the company.
I'd certainly do business with them again.
I ordered a pair of Oakley Ratchet 4.0 scrips. everywhere else online was well over $600.00 with what I wanted on them, I got them for $528.00. i ordered a pair of prescription takumi glasses with the clip, i called 3 times to confirm that these come with a free clip , they assured me every time that they come with the clip. customer service was nice. when i received them they did indeed come with a free clip on , the rx was perfect and i saved about 120 bux . the transaction was good and customer service staff was nice

I'm currently living in Libya and broke my last set of frames. I couldn't get the frames I wanted in Europe, so I tried Coolframes. They had exactly the pair of Tag Heuer Reflex 3303 frames I wanted. In addition, they were able to offer a yellow tinted lens, which most other dealers didn't offer.
After a couple of emails from Coolframes asking about my prescription, I had to wait for 3 weeks before the specs were shipped, but I already knew that the yellow tints took a while to do.
I recieved my order - via a third party shipper - some 4 weeks later, which is about what I was expecting. The order is exactly what I expected, some super cool Tag sports frames with the best yellow tint I've seen.
I'm going to be ordering a second pair of the same frames in a different colour and different tint, I'm so pleased with the first pair!
CoolFrames is by far the best online sunglass retailer. I am addicted to shopping online and I have never had this level of satisfaction with any other store. They answered all my emails patiently and promptly, my glasses came way sooner than I expected, and they were exactly what I wanted. I am going to order my second pair today.
Have ordered two pairs of frames (one with lenses and one without) from coolframes.com now and have been very happy with both. My first set was a nice pair of Ray-Bans with Varilux lenses - they matched the lowest price I could find and they beat lenscrafters on the lenses by like $400 bucks! Second pair was just frames but they matched the lowest price I could find and had it shipped to me ASAP. Every time I called with questions they were very helpful.
Louis is knowledgeable and can help with any of your lens/frame questions. Buying glasses via the web can be nerveracking, but after several unpleasant experiences, I am very happy with coolframes.com.

Prior to my ordering, I communicated questions via email with Coolframes. They responded to every email promptly where others did not. I was really pleased with the selections they offer, great pricing, free shipping and free lenses to boot. And if that wasn't enough, I received the product within 3 days, much quicker then they said. I ordered from coolframes about 3 years ago and it went well, I Got a new RX so decided to give them another chance. i got some funky raybans (rb5121) it took about a week (once shipped it came in 1 day) everything went well i can see. i had to get used to my new rx and i went to my opthomologist to triple check the rx and it went perfect. i called the customer service to check on the status and they told me they would ship on friday and they did

I ordered a pair of Hugo boss frames with prescription sunglasses and was worried after having read previous ratings. But the deal was so good that I decided to take the risk. To minimize the risk of delivery delays, I called the service line prior to my order to ensure that my frames were in stock. After having received confirmation I ordered my frames and sent my eye doctor's prescription via email (indicating my order number) to coolframes (email is on their website). The frames plus eyeglasses were shipped to me within a week and the quality of frame and eyeglasses is absolutely OK!!!
