I bought memory from them on March 1, it is now March 7, and the tracking number they provided shows nothing. I needed memory for another computer, bought it elsewhere and had a tracking number that works the next day. Both companies use USPS for the delivery. UPS is the forwarder for Crucial, and UPS refers me to Crucial who are doing nothing.
In my case...I had ordered a stick of ram. I ordered at about 11:30 at night so I knew the store was closed. I realized I had ordered the wrong model and without worry I proceeded to cancel the order. The website said as long as it has not been processed or shipped that the order can be cancelled. Reasonable right? After verifying that it has not been processed I complete the cancel order form. Then I recieve an email back in the morning that my order had been shipped early in the morning And I can return it for a refund. so now I MUST wait for it to be delivered and reshipped back to the store before getting a refund on something I canceled before it was processed and before it was shipped. If I had failed to cancel the order before shipping or before processing...I would understand this delay. But I don't believe this would have happened on eBay or Amazon. Order cancellations are not usually not a problem for any business with good sense. I guess I should've called the company and made sure it wasn't to be shipped in the early morning...but going through an email order cancelation process, I thought I did what I was supposed to do.
STAY CLEAR OF THEM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE FLEECED. Bought 2 x 8 gb memory modules Total 16gb. Turns out one of them was faulty. Resulted in my needing to take my new laptop to a computer repair shop to get fixed. Cost me £85. Crucial say they will replace the faulty module. But NOT the cost of repair. Already paid WAY over the odds for the memory. Could have bought them for just under £80 but paid £117 in the mistaken belief I was dealing with a reputable company. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS SHODDY BUNCH. MY ADVICE, FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, IS, DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE. I am currently taking them to the small claims court to get my money back. will keep updating as the case progresses.
Very disappointing experience with http://crucial.com and customer service. They had a sale on memory and showed a sale price for the product I wanted, but when I added the memory to my cart and try to check out, it showed the full price. I didn't want to pay the full price. It was after customer service hours so I emailed them a request to buy the item at the listed sale price. They responded by email 2 days later, when the sale price was no longer in effect and refused to honor the price the day I emailed them. I'm glad I checked the real price before submitting payment. This is misleading tactics.

Order was lost in shipping, so a week wait for that. Second set of memory didn't boot machine, third set was same issue. After 5-6 emails, they figured it was that my laptop needed low density not high density memory. If you have a system that supposedly detects what kind of memory a machine needs, why didn't it figure this out? After months of back and forth, I still don't have any memory that works. Although, they are happy to keep my money and not actually provide me with a product that works.
"Crucial.com certainly accepted my order but then never shipped. Waited two days and checked shipping, said "processing." A week later said the same thing, after two weeks I "chatted" with the company (on-line) "oops, sorry about that, we'll reship this after we charged you for the product (2 weeks prior, our bad)." Forget it.
*CAUTION TO OTHERS ON SITE, PRODUCT AND SHIPMENT ARE SPECULATIVE AT BEST* of course they always accept your order and payment - then, well, not so much decide to ship to you. WEAK...!..."
Not great at marketing (MyMemory beat them at that and some of MyMemory's regular emails have provoked me to purchase goods I probably really didn't need). But when it comes to providing computer memory, Crucial really are the top player.
The scanning tool is top-notch and the best in the industry. The prices doubly so. I purchased 4GB for an old MacBook Pro and it arrived recorded delivery, perfectly packaged together with the add-on anti-static strap. From order receipt to delivery - 2 days. Naturally the 4GB DIMM saw my boot times reduce from 15 seconds, down to 7 (hey if you run Windows I don't think anything you buy will achieve that!)
Bad attitude, and untrusted. I used Crucial to buy my memories for many years... around from 2005 ...at the present, normally never had problem, and arrive on time.. also used TopCashback to get my Cash back, as Crucial used to attract customers.. I spend £ 40 , 30, 60 and always got my cashback on time... however on my last purchase spend more than £ 100 ... and no cashback given... as other comments say.. Crucial no pay you when you spend a lot money... Then my question is why you offer a cashback and then refuse to pay ?.. inclusive ignore the e-mails about the transaction,... that show untrusted company.. who offer some cashback and then say... - we no pay you and no give reason why ... Do you think that is a serious answer of business ? Ok, sure Crucial save money on my cashback as promise £ 8.09 . but from now.. you lose a customer... never again!!! very unprofessional move..and bad attitude.
I spread the review about this to aware to another's.
System scanner works perfectly enabling you to order the correct memory for your computer or laptop with ease and at a competitive price. Shipping is cheap and very fast. Can get a little expensive for the older memory though, but that is to be expected.
Use them all the time, and have recommended them to friends and family
I must have bought an awful lot of memory over the years. And, over time, the company I've come to trust, and now use solely, is Crucial.
I find their website exceptionally easy to use, with the ability to get recommended RAM based on computer model or motherboard manufacturer. Their prices seem pretty comparable, and I don't think I've ever had a problem with memory purchased from them.
I also now own a couple of their SSDs, and they have worked faultlessly too.
Finally, I can't comment on Crucial's customer service as I've never had cause to try it!
These guys have NEVER let me down. Always quick to ship goods, and they always work first time. On one ocassion, I had to call their customer services department after a promotion failed to register within my transaction. Being the professionals that they are, they honoured the promotion and allowed my sale to go through as I had expected it to (discounted from the list price). These are good, trustworthy guys. Buy with 100% confidence.
sito web perfetto system scanner efficiente con precisa elencazione e descrizione degli upgrade possibili chiare ed esaustive istruzioni di montaggio upgrade ottimi prezzi precisione millimetrica dei tempi di consegna
This is seriously good. The memory scanner is a great idea and works 99.9% of the time, and if it doesn't give you the right results Crucial have given us a no-quibble refund. This has only happened once in over 100 scans so we are impossibly impressed. The price of their memory is also pretty good and you'll find it difficult to beat.
I tried to order from crucial.com, my order was getting declined for 2 weeks with no reasons, until it got finally approved. I payed for express delivery, whole 8 euros. They ensured me that it will be sent express overnight. Just after 3 days i contact their livechat, and i hear that it was sent by normal mail and will take 5-10 days. I dont get it. I live in NL, they ship it from england. But earlier i was buying in crucial.com and it was ok.
