A COMPLETELY STRESS FREE EXPERIENCE
My contact was extremely friendly and helpful and explained everything very clearly. The transaction took place quickly and with absolutely no problems and the money was in my Bank within a few days, with no commission charged. Brilliant. Will use them again definitely.

Best financial transfer specialist I've used.
I researched international transfer organisations many years ago, and decided to go with CD. I never had cause to regret it.
I have used other big names, one in particular "lost" an £11,000 transfer and caused a horrendous mess, later admitting they had accidentally sent it to one of their own UK holding accounts where it was 'invisible'.
CD still offer the best rates according to my own comparative research recently.

Extremely Good Service
I wanted to transfer funds abroad as a gift and surfed the internet for a company that would provide a good price for my funds. Currency direct were quick to respond, gave a very competitive much better than high street rate, and were very quick to respond. The process is simple and the staff are very professional. Would use them again.

Best way to send money from one country to another.
I have experienced the services of Currencies Direct, and quite honestly I had reservations at first, and did not think it would be as efficient as that. Not only was the service impeccable, but quick, painless, and allowed us to benefit from the best rates. We will use Currencies direct every time we need to send money and will recommend it to all our friends and clients. I strongly believe that when a service is done well, people should know about it and this is why I am happy to answer this survey.

An excellent company to deal with !

Simplistic

No Hassle whatsoever!
I have recently used Currencies Direct to transfer money from Spain back to England after the sale of my house in Spain. It was done very quickly and without hassle and I would certainly recommend Currencies Direct to anyone.

SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I have your attention Excellent.
Never any problems. Last year a member of staff actually alerted us that a considerable sum of money was sent from my wifes UK bank and appeared unexpectedly at Currencies Direct, On checking with the bank we were told it had been sent in error and they did,nt have a clue who sent it or why! I dread what would have happened if it had been sent to certain other companies ie utilities etc. The bank did admit liabilty and compensated her for the upset caused. I think the word "ombudsman" had some effect on that decision. Currencies Direct who we use regularly "do what they say on the tin"

DOES JUST WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN !!!!!!
Quick, easy and no fuss currency exchange. I can watch the rate and when it is favourable I can transfer currency to my French account almost immediately. No forms or faxes needed, just quick on-line transfers.

Rather slow, but meaningfull.
Not to bad, but they was off with their timing about the transfer from one bank to another.
They said the transfer was complete, but it took another two days to find my money in the account.(another wasted journey to the bank)Rather

Successful transaction
I was initially confused by the UK Rep telling me that there will be lots of security issues for sending money to Africa and will have to produce loads of docs. However, during my later call, a representative from their offshore location (India) proved to be very knowledgeable and helpful. He not only clarified everything, but also found out from their dealing branch if they would use any Intermediaries. I had the details of my own Intermediary Account, but no one was sure what their charges would be. He then confirmed that no Intermediaries would be used and so left my Intermediary details blank. In the end, it reached the destination within 2 working days and without any Intermediary Charges. Very satisfied.

Good rate, efficient service, no hidden charges, I used the on-line service.
I joined on a recommendation from a friend. As soon as I registered I received a telephone call from a dealer who was very helpful and explained the whole service. I also received emails and a letter explaining everything. I have just experimented with a small amount (£400 into Euros) transferred to a bank account in Spain. I used the on-line service and paid by debit card. I got the current market exchange rate and there were no hidden charges. It took about 3 days from requesting on-line to the money appearing in my Spanish bank account, this is the standard delay for any international transfer, nothing to do with Currencies Direct. I will now use them for all my Euro business. I would recommend Currencies Direct to anyone wanting to buy currencies on a regular basis.

Average service from a company showing poor regard for customers in a competitive marketplace.
I buy my currency using I-pay fx, so have some control of when to buy. The rates you give with respect to the interbank fates could be slightly better, but then I have to think why should you be kind to a customer when you have the power to be greedy! The I-pay fx website is tricky and cumbersome to use and does not allow me to delete redundant recipients. I have zero confidence in the financial business world in UK-----banks and financial companies and institutions have zero respect for the average man on the street. Currencies Direct falls in to that niche and it is unfortunate that I have no other option but to use it or a similar company. I am insulted that you ask for my opinion ------ as if you will take any notice or change your habits.

A personal service from the Customer Account personnel that ensures that you know exactly your options when converting currency and good advice as to what is best for you.

Easy and faultless transaction
I was worried about transferring a large sum on line to persons unknown to me so I did a fair amount of review searching before using this service and knowing that they have an agent who lives not far away from me was comforting too. The whole process was easy, friendly and fast. The exchange rate was much better than that offered by my bank so it gained me a good sum of money too.

Hard to use
I know we all have to move to using the internet for everything, but when each login requires different user names and passwords and then also needs to be changed regularly - how can we possibly remember it all. This also asks the most stupid questions that I'm sure I never gave the answers to!! Very hard to get into - not too bad once you are in there. I would prefer to email or ring - but not at the prices they want.

Watch out for intermediary banks!
I recently used currencies direct and found that overall the process was very good but one problem encountered was the use of an intermediary bank. I was transferring money from the UK to Thailand and the funds were sent via Bangkok Bank (which is not my bank) and they deducted about GBP25 in fees during the process.
In fairness to Currencies Direct, when I made a complaint about this they immediately refunded the fees, but in future I would want to know if an intermediary bank was being used to avoid this complication.

We have to use intermediary banks to ensure that it reaches your beneficiary account as soon as possible. Unfortunately, some of the intermediary banks we go through charge additional fees called agent bank charges. The reason you get charged is because not all banks have agreements in place and this means as your payment moves through the system, there is a slight chance the intermediary bank will charge for transferring the funds. These charges are deducted from your payment and this is what happened in your case.
Currencies Direct do not charge you for making your payment, however unfortunately we cannot control intermediary banks or prevent them from levying charges. We understand this can be frustrating and we can only apologise for not making this clearer to you. We have taken your comments on board as we look to continuously improve our processes. As good as it gets
I have been using Currency Direct for 8 years without a hitch or a concern. They provided a fast efficient currency exchange service, with constant updates of where the process is, throughout the purchase of our villa in Spain and saved us a considerable amount over Spanish bank charges when we sold and returned to the UK. I would not hesitate to recommend them for a worry free exchange experience. A special mention for the personnel in the Mojacar office.

EASY TO USE, VERY EFFICIENT .
I used CD to exchange funds from sale of property in France that were sitting in my French bank account, back to sterling into my UK account . was easy to register on line, had a personal adviser, explained everything to me through each stage and transaction... All felt very safe and secure.
CD held my funds until my adviser contacted me by telephone when the rate was better and advised to exchange funds that day ........was so easy.Saved me on banking costs had I gone through the ordinary bank in France, and I got a much better exchange rate .

first class service
Have been with currencies direct for 2 years and found them to be totally professional in all of there dealings with me. the advise given is first class the help they give is the same. You receive your email within an hour of any transaction and to do it all over the phone is a total bonus as I live 50 mins drive from mojacar.

An excellent service
I have been a customer of CD since 2006. Having spent many years in the City I was not prepared just to respond to a newspaper advertisement (not that I had seen one for CD at that time). I went into the office in Moorgate was impressed with what I saw and opened an account.
CD have access to my UK bank and make monthly transfers on my behalf; if I need additional funds I telephone and the money is there in three days.

By far the most efficient means of moving money around...
Being an expat Brit in France, I spent some time buying cash from the best sources in the UK and carrying it around. With banks charging heavy commissions and not offering the best of rates, we often would use the Post Office or the Co-op Travel but the snag always was having to be in the UK to do it, not to mention the obvious risks.
After trawling around for a more secure method on the internet, I found Currencies Direct and thus far have not seen any other option to beat it - my UK bank releases the funds at no cost, my French bank does likewise, and CD does the rest, as well as paying the best conversion rate by some distance. All that and I can do it from my armchair at midnight in France and see my Euros just a few days later.
