Returned a Samsung Convertible computer, still under warranty, to local Currys. The fault was with the keyboard docking station, the tablet section worked fine. The shop assistant tested the individual parts of the convertible and confirmed the fault was in the keyboard. Currys repair centre insisted the whole computer was returned for repair, including the power supply. so without a computer for 7 days. When it was returned it came back with a new keyboard. I thought shopping at your local store rather than on line was to get better service when things go wrong. Currys need to review their policy on repairs or the will go the way of Comet.
Having ordered a Currys dishwasher I called to see about the delivery as I hadn't been given a date after a week. Well it only took 22 minutes before the phone was answered!
And having paid the extra £20 for installation and arranged with a colleague to receive delivery as I could be present all day myself the delivery person said they couldn't remove old washer or install new one as the water wasn't turned off. Over the phone I said you can turn the tap off to shut the water off but 'we're not allowed to do that" was the reply.
Payed 1500 for a Samsung TV. Paid for delivery and set up. The guys screwed the base on and tuned it in and then left. No demo - not their area of expertise. Very complicated TV so a bit of a shock really. Couldn't get the Smart Hub to link with my wifi. 2 1/2 hours of phone calls later, Currys decided the TV was faulty. Said I would be rung the next day to exchange. No call - did I really expect to get one? 5 hours and four calls later to 0844 numbers at my own expense, I got a man who told me that it was up to me to make the 50 mile round trip to the store to get an exchange date. Was told that stores didn't phone customers and fix exchange dates as they would have to have their computer screens open in front of them and it was always done this way. He had never heard of a store doing it any other way, he said. I said no wonder Currys customer rating was so low and that I would never buy from them again.
Luckily on the next call - you cant call the store - I got someone with a brain, - a rarity it would seem in Currys, and he sorted the whole problem out. What ever they are paying him, it isn't enough. Sack the rest and clone him!

I have just cancelled my order for a cooker yesterday after being let down twice. Yesterday I had to be at work for 1pm, and arranged the delivery in the morning - they slotted my delivery for the afternoon.
When I contacted Customer Care they said the driver would call me - he didn't so after the third call to Customer Care I decided to call it a day and re-arrange a further delivery date. The girl on the phone was so rude to me, that it made my mind up to cancel the product all together, which I did before I went to work. I have felt better ever since.
I still intend to write a written complaint about the whole scenario - I have never been spoken to like that - ever. In a climate where people are looking for work, you would think that a big company like Curry's would 'get it right'. I will not recommend them to anyone, and I will not be buying anything from them that needs delivering. Their Customer Care and delivery arrangements are absolutely useless. Avoid. !!

They are a total waste of time. Very very poor customer service with almost no technical knowledge. I've been had by them a couple of times...shame on me. But never again.
Ordered a PC, monitor caught fire when I plugged it in. What did they say? My fault, surprise surprise. Went through hell and back for a refund. Avoid like the plague.
I simply had to write a review after the very rude delivery person from Currys reduced me to tears as I was so angry. I haven't encountered anything like that especially since I just spent £650 of hard-earned money on them.
My delivery slot is from 12:40 to 16:40.
I received a call from them at 12:26 and was told that they were in the property waiting for me, I told them I'll be there in 10 mins and was told that they have many deliveries to do and I have to be there in exactly ten minutes. After I hang up I had to ring back immediately after that as I couldn't start the car, he again gave me the spiel that they will wait for ten minutes and will go if i'm not there. While having this conversation I managed to start the car so I told him the car actually started and I'll be there now. He then said 'you have to make up your mind is your car starting or not and are you gonna be here in ten minutes because I have lots of customers to deliver to." I sped to the house and lo and behold, they were not there. At this point I was very angry and was about to phone Currys when they turned up. I understand it was a heavy washing machine but a little bit of care would've gone a long way instead of shoving and bumping it against the walls. They plonked the washing machine next to the sink and handed me the electronic signature device, I signed while pointing out to him it's just 12:40 now still in a nice way and he smirked and said "it's here now isn't it?"
I made a complaint to their customer service which I have to pay for in order to use and was told that it will be logged in the system. I told them I would never use them again and that they must do something about their delivery service if they want to stay in business since there are so many shops selling the same appliance. Had I read about the delivery reviews I wouldn't have bothered buying from them.
I did want to purchase an item online and after repeadedly trying to make payment online, including using different cards as suggested by the site, the transaction was unsuccesful. I then spent 15 minutes on the phone to my bank to verify the issue was not theirs, and after a highly unsatisfactory call with Currys customer services line I have been informed that unless my delivery and billing address are the same, the transaction will be declined.
I live abroad and have a correspondence address but do not want this item to be delivered there. It would also have been useful for this information to have been displayed online to save me time and effort. I was told by the staff member that there is no way around this and I will have to source this item from another retailer. It seems exceptionally short sighted of an online retailer to reject legitimate purchases. To add insult to injury, the site then sent me a mail saying I still had purchases in my basket, did I want to buythem.
I have now made my purchase in under 5 minutes from the Apple store online. I wish I had gone there first.
This has been a frustrating and fruitless experience with Currys, and one I will not be repeating.
My mum ordered a two Tvs and sound system From currys online costing £3700, Delivery was exspected Monday But apparently they didnt put it on the truck Than we arranged to have it delivered thursday and they tried to deliver it tuesday Knowing no one would be at the property!! I Took thursday off specially lost a days wages to wait for the tvs for them, we were told it would come 7am up till 7pm we were not given any closer times so i waited 12 hours at the property NO TVS, at 7pm i called there customer service they assured me the driver was at delivery no 14 and we were no 23 and the tvs would be with us by 9pm, i stayed up till 10pm, surprise surprise No Tvs!!! my mum called them friday and they rearranged for sunday even though they had bare faced lied to us already they assured us it would be with us sunday, sunday came the phone rang at 8.30 am, the tellys we ordered are apparently not in stock!!!! although they tried to deliver with these tvs tuesday, deeply confused and very disgusted at the lies we cancelled the order at 10am sunday, 2pm we receive a phone call the delivery driver is looking for the property with 2 TVS! we cancelled what on earth was going on, i told the delivery driver not to even bother we had cancelled i contacted currys after and they had no log of the phonecall at 8.30am and the cancellation team had not even logged we had cancelled !!!!
Terrible service and a very untruthfull customer service, This is not the only bad exspereince we have had from them either, about 3 months ago are washing machine packed up it took 4 diffrent engineers 3 incorrect parts, failed visits again where i had taken time off work and one engineer did not even take the machine apart in the end there excuse was they had to send a special engineer out!!!!! what the hell is a special engineer !!!!!!

I purchased the new Nexsus 7 from Currys on the 17th November from Gloucester.
Firstly no your rights, if buying from the store you cannot return the item after 21 days and get a refund if it has been opened..!! It must be in original packaging.
The sales man lied, said he included a £10 movie download voucher for free, but he actually charged me for it.
The case I purchased wasn't compatible with the new nexsus 7, the straps on each corner conceal the nexsus on/off button.
I returned to the store and was refunded the £10 for the movie card and changed the tablet cover to the Nexsus plastic/rubber case...however please note these cases for sale in curry's are for the old nexsus tablet and not the new Nexus 7....you will notice the plug in socket for head phones for the new nexsus 7 is now situated at the top right hand corner and not at the bottom on the old model's, so curry's staff told me there not expecting a batch of new cases ...do I want a refund? or should I just stick a pin in the rubber case to allow my head phones to be used...poor customer service.
Ordered a washing machine on line which was delivered on time but one of the feet were damaged. This was not Currys fault but I rang them to see when it could be exchanged. I was told to go in the local store at Ashton u lyne to speed up the process.Spent 2 hours in the store with a helpful lady but was told they would have to pick up the washer and deliver it to the manufacturer before they could send out a new one. They could not tell me when it would be picked up and as it was Friday I would have to wait for Monday before I even got a date. After a few more calls (believe me they keep you waiting) I cancelled and ordered the same machine from AO.com for the same price but with a cashback offer who delivered on the Sunday. As was expected with Currys I was promised the refund would be in my bank on two specific days but this did not happen. After many more calls finally received the refund 2 weeks later. Currys customer service is terrible, give them a miss.
Had a shiny new washing machine delivered yesterday by Curry's delivery & installation monkeys. Was told draining tube too short to connect to outlet and there was nothing they could do...and they left. An hour or so later I was on phone to my dad and the delivery guys show up again telling me they had given me the wrong washing machine and had come to bring the correct one. Managed to connect it up as slightly slimmer model so I was over my initial stress. They leave without even testing to see the machine even works correctly. So I run the machine and lo and behold it doesn't drain! Took a look at the drainage tube connection as it's so twisted and kinked where they forced the connection that there was no chance in hell my clothes would reach the spin cycle...angry at this point. So my dad travels 300 miles south to sort out their mess. Reconnects machine and STILL not draining. The previously mentioned 'professional' installation monkeys had failed to check if the blanking cap had been removed, which is apparently a standard procedure. So my dad removed it and saved the day.
An apology and my £20 installation fee refunded would be nice but I'll bet it'll be like getting blood out of a stone. Delivery and installation monkeys sent me a 4 question survey about the service I received earlier on. Needless to say I told them EXACTLY how shoddy it was!
I am one very angry customer. We were due to receive delivery of our new American Fridge Freezer today. My husband took a days holiday and waited in all day. Tracked the order which said delivery would be between 1.45 and 5.45pm. Waited till 6.15 and called Currys to be told the driver is running late but you will definitely have it delivered tonight. I said we had better as we had got rid of our fridge freezer today.
Waited until around 7.40pm obviously fuming by this time, so checked the online tracking. I was SO angry when it said the status was DELIVERED. Called Currys back who tried calling the driver but they said they didn't have his number. The girl said it looked like he had driven past our house! I said I have been sat here all day and night, there are 2 cars on the drive, the security light has been left on for them and no card has been left. She said i would have to call back tomorrow! I said that is no good, I no longer have a fridge in the house and have 2 young children. She said she felt sorry but couldn't do anything.
Absolutely fuming and we have to wait until 8am to call again!
We visited our local store and ordered a Fridge freezer which we were assured would be in stock on 27 July and delivered the following week. By 31 July we had received no word so my wife phoned customer services. It took many minutes for there to be any reply and eventually she spoke to a man who could find no trace of our order.After some time he decided to transfer us to the branch. They quickly found the order but said it would now be in store on 9/10 August. The call lasted 22 minutes ( most of the time with customer services) . On 9 August we received a call and it was arranged the delivery would take place on Sunday August 11. The following day we received a phone call saying delivery would be between 1 and 5 and someone would ring 30 minutes before delivery Sunday afternoon arrived and along came a white van which turned out to be our delivery. There had been no phone call and the fridge freezer was left in the middle of our storeroom complete with packaging despite our invoice stating that it would be unpacked and all packaging removed.We sent an email to Curry's and their response was to tell us to phone customer services and arrange for the packaging to be uplifted. We emailed back stating we were not prepared to make another long phone call and that they call us. This they did and a day was arranged for the uplift . We duly placed all the packaging on the pavement on the day requested but no uplift. We eventually took the packaging 12 miles to a recycling centre. A few days later we received a phone message saying that they had called as arranged but could find no trace of the packaging. Strange they did not see fit to knock on our door as we were at home all that day!!
The irony is that another Fridge freezer was offered for delivery after this.
Episode 2 We ordered a Tablet online and received an email saying it would be delivered on or before 20 September. On 16 September we received a further email stating " due to unforseen circumstances you may not receive the order within the stated timescale....".; On 21 September we called into the local branch who were unable to help us although they had the tablet in stock. I asked if they would give me one from their stock but that was not possible. They could sell me one but not at the internet price, I cancelled my order that same day but not until 27 September was a refund confirmed.
Episode 3 - I bought an iPad on November 13 and received an email confirming I could pick up the item at the local Branch after an hour. This was in the evening so I called into the branch the next day only to be told they had none in stock. Because of an error the one on display had been recorded as stock. No alternative was offered so we left.
I was so disgruntled by this I sent an email to the CEO outlining these cases on 14 November. I then sent him a reminder on the 19th.
I received a phone call on 20 November from Tom who assured me they were taking action to prevent these issues occurring again and it was unreasonable to expect the CEO of a multi million pound Company to respond! He offered me £25 which he then raised to £30.. Due to all the inconvenience and costs we incurred I declined his derisory offer. All I want is an iPad which surely should not be too difficult for this "multi-million Company" to provide!
The real irony is that a friend did warn us not to use Curry's ,I wish we had taken the advice!!

my daughter reserved an item online yesterday yet when she went to collect it it was not available. staff just stood around shrugging their shoulders and one even smirked at her. was then told to pay for it then go the the nearby pc world shop but they couldn't guarantee that that store had the item is stock plus they wouldn't ring to see if it was in stock, made her drive through xmas traffic. waiting now to see if she has been able to collect the item, but given the mess up to now not very hopeful. never rely on online reservation.

I pre-ordered an Xbox one (day one edition) months in advance, had the stock allocated well in advance, and well before the cut of point for day one delivery. After speaking to Currys to ensure that this would be the case, they assured me I would get tracking details very soon. Cut to release day Fri 22nd Nov, and no tracking details. I phone to check on the status and it's been held up in their warehouse and wont be delivered till Monday. I check on twitter and I'm clearly not the only one that's been let down.
Now every other company on the planet can manage a simple pre-order, I mean they are given enough notice surely! All they had to do was get it on a van for crying out loud. Anway, learn from my mistake, and never use Currys for anything important. I wont be using them for anything in the future.

Ordered an I pad Air 2 days ago...for collection in store yesterday. except it did not arrive. store did not inform me, so I arrived after a drive to get it after 5p.m as they state, told it is not in.... come back in an hour and maybe it will be here, go back at 6.30 p.m and told by another guy that it wont be in as their delivery arrived at 11.00a.m and that is the only delivery per day... not impressed. Was told then that they would call me today when it arrives,,,, by 3.30 I call customer services (as you cant call a store direct), told that it had been delivered along with 200 more Ipad airs 64gb... ok, so off I start to trot... 20 mins later get a call from the store to say that it has not arrived again, but they don't know why!!!!, so go home, get another call from store saying it has been lost or stolen in transit, given a number to call KNOW HOW to sort it out,,. OK, call it, on hold for 10 mins.... give all details and told the following unbelievably!!!
1) I cannot cancel my order as it is in transit (even though it is lost)
2) They cannot send me another one until an investigation is complete.
3) Investigation will take upto 14 days... and only by then can I either get an Ipad or a refund.
4) They took the funds out of my account yesterday also....
I mean I could maybe understand if it had been delivered to my house, but its gone from Currys HQ to a store for collection in person and gone missing between the 2, how is this anything else than an issue between Currys and their courier??? why am I caught in the loop!!!
Not impressed as it is a gift for a birthday on Sunday.... told them this is not acceptable, girl goes off and talks to manager, comes back after leaving me on hold another 5 mins and tells me nothing can be done.. I have to wait, I ask to talk to someone more senior, told NO, nothing will change, go on like this for 30 seconds, finally loose my Rag and swear on the phone (OK I KNOW), Girl tells me that is not acceptable and hangs up on me... Not sure Currys are in the position to state was is acceptable after all that.. so I have no choice, neither will you if this happens so buyer beware, just don't use CURRYS (DSG Group so Dixons, PC world e.t.c)...
God know how this will end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! would have been happy to buy in store, but guess what they don't stock them in store.
I purchased an expensive samsung wading machine and tumble dryer three weeks ago. I paid extra for taking out and removal of old washer and installation of new one. When delivery man looked under sink and decided connection of old washer was too tight for him to undo he said he couldn't do the job and I would have to get a plumber out.He was going to leave the packaging on the new washer until I insisted that he remove it so that the plumber could install it. He reluctantly took it off and left.I rang customer services straight away and told them what had happened she just said I would have to get a plumber out to install new washer she seemed very unconcerned.I managed to get a plumber who came at7pm and charged£72 he actually said that currys were well known for doing this. The next day I called in to see the manager in Currys in Keighley branch to complain he did refund the £20 installation charge and advised me to send email to customer services to ask for refund for plumbers expense. Needless to say I have not even received a reply or apology to my email or letter. They need to train their installation staff how to use a simple wrench and improve their customer service. I won't bother to shop at Currys again.
So my life at currys gets worse.. as previous post showed my 10 week old tv became faulty. Arranged delivery to be repaired after company refused to exchange. Took tv to store after 2 failed deliverys occured i then spoke to lg who said it wasnt fit for purpose and should be exchanged. Which also breaches sales of goods act. So popped to store to speak to the manager and kick off abit more to be told it has to go away for 2 weeks to be repaired. After telling him I didnt want this and it was not acceptable I reluctantly agreed. The manager personally informed me he would contact me in 7 days to inform me of the progress. 7 days later still no phone call so I had to call the store myself to be told. The tv is in repair and has just recieved a part so should be back with me on collection date. Kept ringing all week to make sure my tv is definitely being returned to me on the allocated date. Every time I got reassured my tv was fixed and will be returned to me on the collection date. So collection day arrives and not heard anything so give currys a quick call. Understandably the tv had been fixed my lg so will be returned by lg so would have to contact lg. That was fine until I spoke to lg who told me my tv had not been repaired because they couldnt! So I was being offered a refund or exchange. So from the manufacture I was being told that I was due a refund or exchange from currys. So gave currys a call explained the situation and they said if I came in I could have what lg was offering. Fine I popped into store to be told by a arrogant d**k that I would have to wait for a letter from lg with a code on it to be eligible for exchange. The manager wouldn't even be ebothered to sort it out. So leaving currys I was fuming id been told the wrong information again!! Phone in hand I made another phone call to your customer service. Luckily id spoke to this guy previous and explained how mad I am and he totally understood. He explained that the tv should have been exchanged at first instance that it was faulty as it was under the sales of goods act and was within 6 months. Two he got my problem sorted within 20 minutes to which I have escalated this problem with not only the store manager and the regional manager. Yes the big boss!! So currys are absolute rubbish not only am I claiming my refund for the faulty tv. Im claiming phone calls and wasted petrol. Its disgusting how much ive been messed around and I will never shop here again. Nobody knows the head from their arse. Dont even give them the satisfaction of your money.
currys knowhow delivery service can not be trusted....I received a damage fridge freezer from Curry via their delivery arm knowhow...currys will not replace the damage fridge freezer they deliver to me. as I had not contacted knowhow before some arbitrary 48 hours???…very cleaver Curry’s!!!!...buy beware.....I will not used Curry's again...I can recommend Boots appliances though...very good service, any problems Boot simple resolve problem!!!!...Not like Curry's???....they deliver damaged items and the customer is stuck with it unless you are prepared to go down the small claim route...Love Curry's!!!
I placed an order a few days ago, for a specific tablet and for a video camera. I received a text the next day saying order was cancelled. After calling their expensive customer service, it appeared that it was cancelled because I didn't answer the phone to a verification team. I had no missed calls and no voicemails!! I had to rebook the whole order again.
The items were delivered the next day, I received the camera absolutely fine, not an issue, the tablet however was not in its box, I had been sent an empty tablet box!!! No accessories or tablet, just the instructions!!! Never seen anything like it. The bag and packaging it was in was not damaged in the slightest!! Clearly a little thief at their depot/warehouse. I have spoke to customer service and they treat you has if you are a criminal. I was not aloud my refund because it needed to be investigate. I told them I don't want the hassle anymore and decided to buy my tablet elsewhere. I now have to wait for this investigation to conclude before I see my money back. This issue is with currys and possibly the delivery company. Nothing to do with me, I'm here without my money or my tablet.

I ordered a Fridge / Freezer via KNOWHOW on 03/11/13, advising that I would inform them when I would like delivery. Late last week I requested delivery for today, 11/11/13 which was agreed. Yesterday, I received a text informing me of a morning delivery today, which was followed by a further text this morning advising of a four hour slot. As promised the lorry arrived within the scheduled time. I was quite surprised why it was taking such a time for the two delivery men to unload as they were some time in the back of the vehicle. The reason soon came to light - The item had not been loaded. Phone calls at 0844 rate followed only to be told that the item had not been received by Currys from the supplier. Why then was I given a delivery slot, it seems pretty basic that you cannot deliver an item which you do not have. It now transpires that Currys will not have the item until 19/11 at the earliest. Watch this space. 1/10
I purchased a washing machine for £500 from Currys, Weymouth. Was told the machine would be in stock the following day and I had to contact the store to arrange a delivery date. I contacted the store which was followed by a call back from KNOWHOW (Currys delivery service) offering us their earliest delivery date which would be the following Thursday between 07:00 and 11:00. Happy with this I arranged a day off for Thursday. Guess what no delivery. When we contacted the store and KNOWHOW we were told there was no date on their system. We were accused of misinterpreting the message which they said was informing us the washing machine would arrive in the warehouse on the Thursday. Why then call us and arrange not just a date for delivery but also a time???. Perhaps they meant the washing machines would arrive Thursday between 07:00 and 11:00 in the warehouse!!
After banging my head against a brick wall I tried everything I could to speak with customer service at a higher level. Don't waste your energy, it does not exist. All along we have been fobbed off with lame excuses from weaklings who have no interested in you as a customer and who find the easiest way out of looking after you and putting things right. You are made to feel that you are asking for a gift, money off, financial recompense or some form of freebie from these idiots when all I want is a proper investigation into who made the mistakes followed by a letter of apology to show their sincerity."PIGS MAY FLY" Consequently I cancelled my order and I am afraid Curry's have seen the last of me, Not that they care.

Curry's will be going the way of Comet soon. You have to give up phone number, email address and home address when you buy anything in store, and even insisting on taking photocopies of your driver's licence if you use a voucher. Terrible customer service (they lost my original compliant email!) and didn't deal with my compliant at all.
Ordered a fridge freezer and washing machine in store and paid for it upfront - washing machine arrived fine and on the day we had specified, no issues. However....Fridge Freezer, on the day we ordered it we were told it was not currently in stock but would be within 2 - 4 weeks. This was fine for us as we weren't moving in for 3 weeks and could of course delay by a week if needs be. So 4 weeks rolls round then five, we chased and were told "yes will be in stock next week be with you latest within 7 days." 7 days rolls round (now 6 weeks) no news, went into store to ask what has happened, was told we shouldn't have been told that it would be 7 days as they do not know when it will be in stock. Held out another few days (just in case) then went into store again (this time both of us!) No service for 10 minutes and its nearly closing time on a Friday night, nobody wanted to get caught up with a customer at 19:55. Eventually a guy standing watching the door comes over, when we start telling him the story he says, fairly aggressively, "We would not have said 4 weeks because we don't know" when we told them that we had been told that he started speaking over my boyfriend! Another chap who was very helpful told us there was no estimated delivery time from the manufacturer and we could cancel the order if necessary or order something else. We cancelled the order went onto AO.com and ordered the same fridge freezer for the same price and had it delivered that Sunday FREE! If an item is not in stock why let people order it?! Rant over :)
So we spent £400 on a new fridge freezer and £16 on delivery. Delivery man turns up at door, no smile, no politeness. I tell him the old fridge (which is a tiny single unit fridge - no freezer) is still in the kitchen as my boyfriend had trouble moving it. He let out a big sigh and exclaimed 'no, no, no this isn't even funny.' He walked into the kitchen and then said 'so you got a boyfriend who can't move a fridge yeah?' with a disgusted look on his face. Then proceeded to move the fridge, then looked at me and said 'So your boyfriend couldn't do that, no?' If that wasn't bad enough, he then eventually got the new fridge freezer in, in which he just dumped in the kitchen, made me sign the receipt thing and then left. No explanation of what to do or how to install the fridge. Had to ring up Currys and get a woman to explain, whilst also logging a complaint. I then left my house later that day and discovered the old fridge fly-tipped around the corner!!! Absolutely disgusting, they are paid to take away and recycle the fridge yet they just dumped it there. You wouldn't think they worked for a big company with a reputation to hold onto. Still in complete shock at how much of a disgusting service I received. Awful, awful, awful. Will never be using Currys again.
At the Basildon store yesterday I asked two salesmen if Epson printers still have a chip in the cartridges which prevent them operating before the cartridge is empty and prevents the printer being used for compatible cartridges. They both professed to have no idea what I was talking about and assured me that if there used to be a problem it no longer exists.
I bought the printer. All their printers now have the Intellidge chip which does exactly what I feared. Never again, Currys/PC World.
We ordered a washing machine along with a fitting service. The order was placed on the 15th of October and was delivered on the 22nd. The fitter came and said the machine was damaged.
I was told by one customer care advisor that the item was in stock and would be with us on the 29th but in the end this never materialised, I have since been give two other dates now finally no date.
A new machine has been ordered and as of the 5th of November currys is unable to tell me when it is going to be delivered as it's coming straight from the manufacturer.
Fed up, I have finally cancelled my order.
I have been ordering few thing with shipping or collection and always was a happy bunny. In my eyes they are really good.
One annoing thing is that their in-store prices maybe higher than online. So you are basically penalised if you go to the store and won't check you can reserve and collect same thing cheaper. While I don't like this practice I can somewhat undrestand as you are either paying hi-street price and in-store service or you need to do all the work yourself online and get a better price.
So two months ago I spent roughly about £1500 on fitting out my house....
2 months later my tv packed in... Nice to know a £1000 tv works so well. Called up currys to get the fault fixed. Booked in for Saturday to be taken away for 7 days. Wasn't happy as I had insurance which has now been cancelled and currys had not informed me of this!! So Saturday came and I was told id receive a phone call about an hour before the tv was collected... Popped to the shop for literally 10 mins.. Delivery guy had been and gone... No phone call nothing. Spent 40 minutes calling currys to asked why I had not received any call to then be told it was my fault I wasn't in and the delivery driver would not return! At this point I was fuming. I'd stayed in all day bar 10 bloody minutes... Se rearranged pick up for today (Sunday) pick up between 1-5. Another day wasted staying in! It's now 3pm and still no sign... I feel a phone call is coming on only to be told probably that they can't do anything!!! Currys are the worst company to deal with!! Do not buy anything from them or if you do pray to god it doesn't get a fault.
I ordered a fridge freezer from Curry's, but when it arrived, despite its measurements being the same as my old fridge freezer, the freezer compartments inside were much narrower and not adequate for my needs.
I immediately phoned customers services to arrange a return, only to speak to a young girl who sounded like she either hadn't received sufficient training or was utterly incompetent. I spelt the name 'Smith' to her three times, and even then she asked whether it began with an F! She had to take my phone number 5 times before she got it right. She then kept me on hold for 25 minutes without explaining why, before eventually telling me that the system was down, she couldn't process my return, but would phone me back before 5.15pm when she left work for the day, to let me know whether she had been able to action the request or not.
When I heard nothing from her after 5.15pm, I phoned customer services again and spoke to a young man who apologised and said he'd put a request into the system for another department to contact me the following day and arrange collection.
After hearing nothing the next day, I chased Curry's the day after that, finally speaking to someone who sounded like they knew what they were doing - it turned out the previous representative hadn't sent the request through after all, so if I hadn't chased it up I would still be waiting.
When Currys delivered the fridge freezer, they took away my old one. Using the new one would invalidate my return and I could not afford to buy a replacement in the meantime, so thanks to the incompetence of the customer service reps, I was without a fridge freezer for over a week and had to throw away over £100 of frozen food that went off in the process.
I have to say that on both occasions that I dealt with KnowHow, the delivery company employed by Curry's, the drivers were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. if only Curry's customer service staff were of the same calibre.
Faulty catch broke on top of the range microwave after just over 30 days ownership, they are so keen for you to buy their 'insurance' if you do not then don't expect even the minimum of a reasonable customer service. I am now without a microwave for up to 21 days while they sit on the money I gave them for this clearly faulty item, as they have insisted that it be returned to manufacter rather than replacing as I would have reasonably expected. Avoid buying from this retailer, pay a bit extra and go somewhere where they value their customers.
I ordered and paid by phone a cooker and hob. The girl took email down wrong, AFTER i spelled it out twice. No receipt email. Phoned up told cannot change email on system so will send receipt by post. Meanwhile, booked installation day. No receipt in post. Engineer rang on installation day FROM WRONG ADDRESS. Asked me for receipt. I said it wasn't sent to me. He pretty much hung up. And disappeared. I phoned back many times each time being told different things. NONE of them rang back when they said they would. Eventually, the chap said he'd send receipt again by post then I should phone them again to book another installation time. At this point I said cancel this order. There's a four letter word that describes this company and it begins with -s.
I recently ordered a new dishwasher online from Currys. The website was easy to use, I got a text about the delivery time, it arrived in the time slot we were allocated and is working ok so far...... The Currys website stated they would remove & recycle our old product and packaging for free. However, the delivery men were rude, they refused to take away our old dishwasher because "they didn't have room on the lorry" even though they had just delivered us a product of the same size. They also refused to take away the packaging and left the dishwasher in my dining room, as it wouldn't fit through the kitchen door whilst packaged. My husband had an hour round trip to take it to the dump the following weekend. They shouldn't promise to take away old products & packaging for free if their delivery men can't be bothered to do it. It was inconvenient for us, but for someone more vulnerable it could have been more upsetting and costly to get the old product removed. I emailed a complaint to the Currys customer services team and no-one has even bothered to reply. All I really wanted was an apology for the inconvenience and maybe some kind of incentive to use their company again, but nothing. So, I will not use Currys again or recommend them to anyone and would rather pay a bit more to a company I trust. Very poor customer service.
I am disgusted after today dealing with currys, bought a fridge freezer with my partner nearly a week ago in store and had it delivered today, didnt receive any 'text' giving me a time slot to expect our delivery so I've been sat in all day waiting until 6 at night, after the delivery men had left, I checked it out and the freezer has a huge crack in the base! They said on the phone I have to wait until they will come and pick it up and get a replacement so another week without a freezer is looking likely!
My dishwasher arrived today undamaged during the appropriate time slot. The delivery men were polite and took away my old machine. I think they would have taken the packaging if I had asked them to. So, a perfectly acceptable delivery. The only things I'd mention are that they didn't text me to say they were coming the night before, and they left muddy bootmarks all over my kitchen floor. Didn't take long to clear up, though.
Went into St Andrew Quay Curry, Hull on Saturday, saw 2 Fridge Freezer, I liked, no one around so left, went today Thursday 24/10/2013, the ones I saw on Saturday, no prices, had to go to customer service for someone to come, which took aprox 4 mins, no apology, explained what I just wrote above, so wanted to know the price, just in the process of redoing all prices, ok can you tell me how much please? Well his answer was depends on how much you want to pay, I explained saw one at £279, and the other one £309, well you won't get that now, off he walked, NEVER EVER will I go into that store again, needless to say went on got what I wanted, another company, who went out of their way to help.
Words cannot describe how awful the service is from this company. Turn up with faulty products and refuse to take them back themselves so have to sort it out all myself through the fault of theirs. Told 3 different time slots, none were right and after all the hassle, an absolutely rude and inconsiderate driver gave attitude and the worst customer service skills I've ever come across. How this company is still going I do not know, I would not recommend this store to anyone.
