Trusting the recent improvement in feedback due to the new management, I made my purchase and was very happy. I will buy from them again.
I have been informed that this company is under new ownership and its owners hope to improve their credibility.
I ordered a waterproof high visibility top from cyclexpress. The top was the cheapest I could find on the internet (and I'm quite good at searching). In addition delivery was quick and I received a 10% voucher off my next purchase, a nice touch.
4 stars not 5 as I would be hesitant to give any company 5 stars after only one purchase. Keep up the good work.
I have shopped at cyclexpress for many years. I have ,until very recently, never had any problems, or occasion to contact them except to praise them for my first purchase - cycling waterproofs which I still use. I have bought tyres, jackets, locks, and the service has always been first class.
I have recently had a problem with a jacket (which was not their fault but the manufacturer's) and they sent me a replacement immediately by first class post. I cannot praise the firm highly enough and I would certainly recommend them to any keen cyclist.
My most recent purchase is a Cateye Velo 7 cycle computer. These computers are very reliable and easy to use and Cyclexpress supply them at a rock-bottom price.
Saw the mixed reviews of this business and was a little nervous, but glad I took the plunge!
The parts I was after were available from stock and the best price I could find in the UK. Delivery was quick - 2 days against a promise of 3-5 - and the part was well packed.
If they keep up with service and pricing like this I'll be back.
I will never use this company again. I placed an order for a bike saddle in July and payment was immediatly deducted from my card. After a couple of weeks the item didn't arrive with no notification from the company as to why. I contacted them and was informed it was out of stock and they were waiting for a delivery and it would be another couple of weeks. I decided I would accept this and wait. However several weeks went by and I was not notified of any further delays. When I spoke to the company I was informed that the product was now unavailable. It then took a further 2 months and several phone calls before I was refunded my money, At no point did the company contact me to inform me of the status of my order - I did all the chasing up.
I ordered a pair of women's cycling shoes wm41 on 12th November. I was reluctant to orders after reading reviews but after speaking to them directly I decided to risk it. Shoes arrived within 5 days as promised so I have no complaint there would be happy to use again.
Ordered 3 items, one if which turned up after 3 days. Emailed to chase other items and told they would be another two weeks and would I like a refund. Requested a refund, no response, a week later no fund received so chased, another two days and nothing. Only after threatening Trading Standards did I get told it has been refunded...still waiting!
They clearly don't hold stock and they don't seem to care when you call.
Will stick to Wiggle, never had a problem
had to get my money back from credit card company,as theydidnt give refund as promised .They say that they have goods in stock but dont deliver. I would never use. Be warned !
Cyclexpress advertises products they DO NOT HAVE IN STOCK. Then they ignore you for months while you ring and email requesting a refund. I am reporting them to Trading Standards. Unbelievably bad service - possibly illegal. DO NOT TOUCH!
Ordered a couple of Bell Venture Helmets from them a couple of weeks ago, the confirmation email got the address wrong so my wife phoned them to let them know, they sorted it and said delivery would be in about 3 days.
The following afternoon they emailed us saying a particular colour was not available for another week, I replied to the email and that bounced straight back so I Phoned them and asked for a different colour.
Nearly a week later I phoned them to chase the order and was told they had non of that particular helmet in stock for another week, I cancelled the order.
It would have been nice to have been informed by email rather than having to call them.
When they first let us know about the missing colour, we looked at the website and noticed the price for the helmets had gone up by about £10.
They probably sold the stock off at the higher price rather than send them out to us at the lower price.
After almost 2 x weeks I am still waiting on delivery of a pair of cycle shoes to Mainland UK. Attempts to communicate with CycleExpress have been met with contrite emails telling me to "wait another couple of days" - ridiculous given the goods were shown as "in stock" on their website and using Royal Mail as they do, the goods should have been here last week. Requests for them to look a bit deeper into the issue have been ignored. Compared to pedals I bought from Wiggle on the same day that arrived 2 days later, this is unexplicable, but they do not seem to care.
I need to write this review as I dont understand the bad feedback? As a keen cyclist I have been a customer for a few years now as their are aways great bargins marginly cheaper than elsewhere. I have always had gear delivered on time and at a great price. I also won a quality gift on their Facebook page which they givaway every Friday, so they have my thumbs up!!
I'm based outside of the UK so while shopping on their online store I changed the currency displayed on their site from GBP to Euro. I purchased a number of items, the price of which was displayed in €. But when I checked my bank account online, I noticed I had been charged about 12% more than the price shown on their website at the time of purchase. Initially I thought my bank had offered a crap exchange rate or included additional high charges but after examining the transaction online this proved not to be the case.
I logged back into my account on the Cyclexpress website & looked at my purchase history. The price displayed was indeed lower than what they had actually charged me. I took a screenshot of my shopping basket total on their website & sent them an e-mail with the screenshot attached. In the email I asked them to look into this error & get back to me ASAP.
Later that day I logged back into my account on their website & noticed that my shopping basket total had jumped up by (funnily enough) 11% or so.
It had become apparent that the currency conversion tool on their website was innacurate & displayed an incorrect price total.
The emails I have received from Cyclexpress since then are full of contradictions. On one hand they have admitted that they dont update the exchange rates on the website daily because they dont sell much stuff outside of the UK yet they are also claiming that the overcharging issue is between me & my bank & have refused to refund me by the amount they have overcharged me. They are now refusing to even answer my emails in relation to the issue!
Beware of purchasing stuff from a company who acts in this manner!
