god awful service from dabs
god help anyone who uses this company.
il begin with the web site stating my solid state drive would be in stock in 1-3 days , 8 days later i got bored of waiting and removed this order since it was a compleate load of rubish that it will be arriving within 3 days
so......my order gets shipped, and some arrives ,not everything is there though , infact a graphics card i payed 200£ for which has been taken from my account , isnt in the delivery ,even though its in the delivery note, i email them and im re-embursed , i take a look at there site and see the graphics card......whilst iv been waiting for the ssd to come in has gone off offer , so even though i payed for the item while it was on offer it was taken from my delivery, and then it was me who had to chase them for re-embursment
so then my chasis arrives , the pacaging is perfect, the styrofone is perfect and holds its so well it takes 2 grown men to get the chassis out of the box , soooo.... how has the internal parts of the chasis been shattered , its because its a b-grade product , iv been charged for a full product . and im still waiting for this issue to be resolved even after 8 emails, and over a month.
now after 3 days shy of a whole month waiting for my monitor it has arrived, soaking wet and damaged
out of intrest i sent them an email letting them know i wanted to send my soaking wet monitor back on friday morning (2nd sept), and still no response , they will want to courier it back which will take 3 days to arange and a day to take place, at best.
my job takes me away from my hometown and although im not strugling for money i would have been looking at taking a new contract last week, yet im still stuck here with no answers, not even replys to my emails
i spent an hour on the phone they never even picked up , what a joke , no reply to my emails
all i want is to be able to return the faulty goods iv been delivered , and i should at least get back half the cash for the chasis
thankyou for reading this post , any help or advice would be greatly appreicated, since at the moment im realy restraining myself from emailing them telling them im going to take them to court
Order, sat processing for over a week, finally get a response to emails after signing it to forum and posting my issues all over there. told that all 5 orders had to be cancelled due to their issues with stock etc. Cancelled orders and then charged my card for them all. totally contrevening their own T&C's, where payment only taken upon despatch of goods
Recently wore out my third Logitech Marble Trackman. First place I ordered responded that they actually no longer stocked the item as it is going out of production. dabs.com stated that they had 10 in stock, and shipped the two I ordered (have to plan for the future now) so I had it within a couple of days. I can see they now have their stock down to 7, so it looks like their webpage reflects reality to a reasonable degree. Price was not rock bottom, but still competitive.
Bought off Dabs for many years may be different in the future. Returned 3 items for refund 3 weeks ago 1 item refunded now they are playing a wait game for the other 2 items which are in quarantine. Sad they used to be great would they like not getting paid for what they send out...
I ordered a 1TB hard drive from Dabs for a friend, when it arrived it was no longer required, so I sent it back to them using their 7 day no quibble returns policy. It was returned on the 24th March, and on the 3rd of June I am still awaiting my refund. Firstly they said they were processing the refund, nothing happened, a few weeks later I got a bit arsy and told them I was unhappy, they said they would escalate it to their higher authority. More weeks passed and I demanded a refund, they then said they hadn’t received it, so I managed to find my proof of delivery and sent it to them, more days have passed and still nothing so I sent another email, and again they say they have passed it on to the higher authority (God perhaps?). On the phone to them now but it takes about 50 minutes each time to get answered, will never ever use them again, even if they are the last tech company on earth!
Not sure if you can give no stars! I returned a netbook which developed a fault within 6 weeks of purchase (and took them 3 weeks to deliver in the first place, despite showing as in stock) and was informed on the 21st April that a refund would be credited to my account within 3-5 working days. I'm still waiting and have received nothing but garbled, conflicting and poorly written messages from their so-called "customer services" department. I have no means to replace the item until I receive my money back and my blood is boling at their uselessness. I have run up a £10 mobile phone bill trying to call them as they are only open 9-5 when I am at work and, despite spending nearly 2 hours on hold overall, have failed to speak to anyone in person. I am not the only one in this situation and, like others, have resorted to their forum to try and get some answers. I suggest you check out some of the threads in the community section of their website before you send them any money. Dabs.com are incompetent, deceptive and I would strongly recommend that you take your custom elsewhere.
Very poor customer service, on the site it said the goods would be in stock in 1-3 days so i thought hey they are £10 cheaper, sounds good. A month later i am still waiting, they have taken money out of my account and there is no sign of my goods, apparently they are still in not stock but wont cancel my order! I am disgusted and will never shop with them again and i urge anyone reading this not to either. If i could give 0 stars i would think that too generous!
I placed an order for 4 items and 3 were delivered.
It has been 6 months and i am still waiting fro my refund.
Case has been logged with trading standards.
Very poor phone customer service, Each Call lasting minimum 25 Minutes.
They Intentionally make customer wait so long on the phone so that customer gives up and end the call.
As for Email communication, No one bothers to read the Order/Issue history.
They have no clue what is going, Each person has responded completely different to my raised complain.
I was told by one customer service representative that refund will be issued but so far nothing.
Phone Number for customer services is 0870, which cost more than 10 pence per minute. So each phone call to dabs.com will cost you atleast £2.50+ . If you dont belive me then try ringing the phone number 0870 429 3825
Customer service is run by bunch of hilly billies. Very unprofessional service.
I've used Dabs a lot over the years. I've always had a good experience. They're usually the cheapest and provide a good service.
OUt of over a dozen orders, I've had a couple faulty items from them (though that can happen with any seller). One was a faulty motherboard. They sorted the problem out quickly and even refunded the cost of the CPU that I sent back too. The CPU was fine, but because it had been installed on the faulty motherboard, and its paste had been wiped off, they had no problem replacing it.
I don't like the fact you can't speak to them though... only chats only. So only 4 stars because of this.
If you hunt around on the internet you will see that Dabs get very good reviews for price and speed of deilvery.
Look further and you will see that their rating drops dramatically if you are unlucky enough to have to return a faulty item. I should have learned my lesson when I had to return a faulty motherboard some years ago but thinking things might have changed 8 or 9 years down the line, I ordered a Graphics card from them.
2 months later, the graphics card packed in so I arranged a return on 17th Feb. I have proof that the card was received by Dabs on the 18th but when things didn't seem to be progressing further I contacted them and was told they 'couldn't find it'. Since then, I have emailed daily but to no avail. I have received the odd reply thanking me for my patience but nothing is being resolved.
Their web site would have you believe they will provide customer service with a phone number, a live chat facility and and an email contact address but...
The phone number is an 0870 one that no-one answers for ages and is making money for them all the time they are leaving you listening to their recorded message, the live chat facility doesn't work and you are lucky if anybody responds to your emails.
To summarise, the title says it all - their customer support is appalling.

Once the best out there, but have sadly lagged behind. I now avoid at all costs. It seems a once proud company has given up on the basics like customer service, customer satisfaction and reliabeility. Shame as they once were good.

Dabs is fine if nothiong goes wrong - good prices and reasonable delivery costs.
But wo betide anyone who has a problem.
1. there is no phone.
2. there is no chat facility
you can only communicate via email.
my email question to them (and follow ups) remain unresponded to after 10 days.
First due to their systems issues , the order which had a problem (noisy DVD drive), had to be transfered to a new system. 24 hours wait. then the new system shows the wrong prices. So before I returned the item I had a few questions - originally within the 7 day window.
The resultant issues could so easily be resolved over the phone but will probably take days of ping-pong emails to resolve.
Good companies should be judged on how they resolve issues. If you can't speak to them, invariably ine is at a disadvantage from the start.
I remain very frustrated by the lack of communication.
Not the cheapest out there for PC components, but have never had a problem with them : stuff arrives on time and is correct. Total orders made with them so far: 3-4 in last 3 months. Never had to complain, so can't rate their customer service
never had a problem when ordering items from these guys. My goods have always turned up on time and I've never had any stock issues with them. I always use this company when buying new components for my PC and will continue to do so.
Although I do not order form them as much as I did, having stopped customising my pcs, I have always found this company to be transparent and enjoyed the variety of ways to browse their website.
On one occasion I returned a DvD drive to them and it was incredibly smooth with the money returned as soon as the drive got back to them. They have a good order tracking system and genuine reviews.
I've used DABS for many years now. I have found them to be an excellent company to deal with. Products have arrived on time and in perfect condition. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised to see items arrive early on occasion too! Prices are highly competitive.
My LaCie drive became faulty within a little over a year of owning it and eventually became completely inaccessible, despite hours of trouble shooting to try and regain access.
Worse still is dabs 'after sales' which is near zero. Dabs requested I send it back with the intention of returning it to LaCie for repair.
Instead they themselves determined the drive was irrecoverable, promised to issue a refund which to date I've never received and then send my drive and personal data to be destroyed, all without my consent.
As far as they are concerned with a refund which I am still waiting for they now own the drive and the data on there, ICO disagree and state I have legal right to a copy of my personal data.
Dabs continue to flout consumer law and even resorted to misleading LaCie as to the true course of events surrounding my saga with them.
Fair warning to all who buy from Dabs, my advice is don't!
Ordered a new Samsung TV for my husband. TV arrived within 2 days but was unfortunately damaged (slightly). Spoke to live chat and they said I could either have the TV collected, inspected and then replaced or as I live locally take it in for inspection. TV was bulky but duly repacked it and took it up to them in the back of the car. Manager came out and inspected the TV and a new one was despatched the same afternoon. The new one arrived the following day. Cannot fault their customer service at all who went out of their way to sort out a replacement and to get me a new one in the fastest possible time. Have bought from Dabs before and will do so again. You want "no hassle" buying then go to this firm.
I've used this site for many years and it's always the first port of call when purchasing laptops, systems or peripherals for personal or business use.
I'm always amazed at how fast items are delivered and am always happy with the price/quality of products.
I've returned a couple of things (for Non-Dabs related reasons) and do not remember being unhappy about the service or process.
I've recommended this site to family and friends and everyone has had a positive experience.
One of the best online retailers I've used.
Brought items from this site may times , fast delivery even at Christmas time. I have heard some people have problems returning faulty items.
I did E mail a question before I placed an order and only got a " cut and paste" repley which didn't help at all but that was 2 years ago they may have improved.
I have used DABS on a number of occasions and have found them to offer a decent choice of products at a fair price. My last purchase was an external hard drive and the product information on the website was clear and concise so I was able to make my choice quite easily. It was delivered on time and I have never had any problems with anything purchased from them. Worth a look!
Ordered a laptop and although the order was accepted the credit card was rejected leaving the whole thing in confusion for hours. Eventually sorted out problems with credit company cancelled original order (which was now out of stock) reordered alternative - paid for between 7 and 12 next day delivery arrived at 1pm. Website poor - wouldnt use them again.
Used dabs quite a few times over the years, and figured i should start rating companies i've only had good experiances with!
generally buy clearance or used stock from dabs to save money, well if the option is there, and everytime has been excellent, so far i've had one motherboard fail on me under warranty and had no issues returning the item, obviously its not there fault it failed, but it was quick and easy to replace it, so no complains, always one of my first choices when buying new hardare
I have used dabs.com a few times and have no complaints. I have never had to return anything so I cannot comment on RMA procedures and cusomer service (which I think is when you really see how good a company is). Four stars given because I don't know the 'quality' of the customer service.
