Terrible Eshop

I ordered some blank dvds totalling £25. I never recieved the items and couldnt contact anyone at the company by email or phone.
As I paid via paypal I have now recovered my lost money so not all bad.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I dont see how they are still trading

Rubbish!

I placed an order on 12th Jan 2010, I received an email stating that my item would be dispatched within 2 days on 13th Jan 2010 and that I would be informed if there was a delay, I have still not received the item ordered and no further emails have been received despite the money leaving my account on the 14th Jan 2010.
I subsequently emailed several times 'admin@datakits.co.uk', 'returns@datakits.co.uk', 'sales@datakits.co.uk' and 'complaints@datakits.co.uk' and left messages on their answerphone all with no reply. I sent an email yesterday advising they contact me within 7 days or legal action would be considered, I received a call from Rachael at Datakits stating their emails had gone down and the item would be chased and I would receive a call at 9am this morning, she wouldn't give me another contact number, no call has been received!

How are these still trading?

Long story short, Item was ordered early Dec 2009 and didn't come after promises it was on way in the end started a Pay Pal claim to get my money refunded only then did they pull their finger out and my product arrived in early Feb. Even though I had repeatedly asked them to cancel order and refund my money.

Wish I had read the reviews but even then didn't think anyone could be that bad but they are awful. Notice they do not put a phone number to contact them direct . . . Wonder why?!?!

Avoid at all costs, cowboy firm.

TOTAL RIP OFF

Wish I had read reviews!!!!! I am now in the process of trying to recover £87.98 paid to datakits on the 5 th Jan 2010 for a DVD Recorder, I have spent the past 2 weeks attempting to contact this company via there email messaging service all to no avail!!!! I paid for this item through my paypal account so I am hoping to recoup my payment, I have also filed a complaint with the Consumer direct website, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST I WISH I HAD !!!!!!!!

OH MY GOD, i can rant forever, and ever and ever about these lot, purchased 6600 mobile screen on 17/12/09 email sayin wil b wid u by 20/12 , nothing, rang, nothing, emailed since... nothing! left messages on the phone! and no reply! HERE COMES THE BIG ONE! i disputed via paypal and oh got a reply, saying sorry mishap will be sent today by mike on the 05/01 - and still NOTHING! since then paypal looked into the dispute, i provided them with links to this website and others about peoples complaints, showed them all my emaails, gave them their number and said nobody answers, what did datakits do?? the b@stards gave them a FAKE yes a fake royal mail delivery trackin number for somebody who lives the other side of the uk from me, signed by somebody else on the 29/12/09 and what did paypal do??? OH THEY SAID ITS GOOD ENOUGH, WERE CLOSING THE DISPUTE IN DATAKITS FAVOUR THEY PROVIDED A TRACKING NUMBER, i went mad i rang paypal i questioned their incompetent demanour and what did i get in return from their complaints department?? "the case has been settled, if you can get something in writing from royal mail saying it wasnt sent to your address, we will reopen the dispute" so i rang royal mail.... and what did they say??? "we dont store addresses from tracking numbers, sorry we can just send you a letter stating what office it was delivered from" so they did, i sent the letter to paypal.... and they replied "seeing as the delivery was made within 30 miles from your address from a royal mail sorting office, we ruled that it was authorized by yourself and rule in favour of the seller" OH MY GOD WHAT A FLAMING JOKE!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!?!?! IM OFF TO PORTSMOUTH IT MIGHT COST ME HUNDREDS IN TRAVELLING FOR something i paid £30 for, but this is personal now, i will not rest until i have been compensated and i will torture each and every one of them!

PAYMENT TAKEN BUT NO GOODS RECEIVED

I ordered an alarm clock and paid using the online service, they've taken the money out my account but datakits has not even sent through confirmation that I bought it. Have emailed numourous times without response.

Just wondering how they're even still up and running with this many bad reviews...wish I'd found this site beforehand :(

I wish I'd checked the forums before buying an external hard drive from datakits. With no delivery after 3 weeks I chased the order. They claimed it must have got lost in the post, but it's fairly obvious they never had it in stock in the first place. They said they'd post another one and I feared the worst, but a week later a package arrived. I say package, it was a plastic courier bag. Inside the bag a box was wrapped in a sheet of loose bubble wrap, and inside the box the drive was also loose and rattling around like a snake. I plugged it in and instantly realized it had been used before and was obviously a 'return' or 'second'. All the system files were missing and the format had been changed. If Amazon are the best reason to shop on the internet then datakits must be the worst.

Useless!

I bought a Krussell mobile phone case from this company on the 23rd October 2009. The order was processed and money taken immediately.
To date I have received nothing.
I have emailed each of the available accounts on their website several times and left messages on their answer machine, (Clever that they don't have anybody manning the phone line!)
So, no product, email reply or call back.
Do not deal with these unless you are happy to pay out but receive nothing.

Thieves

I purchased a pair of headphones from Datakits, they sent me the wrong ones which I sent back, since then they haven't responded to my emails or refunded my cash. This is theft & Paypal were uselss and sided with Datakits.

Worst company ever

I have paid £50 for a number of items from Datakits on the 26th October. I still have not received them. Also, I have contacted them on 6 occasions by e-mail and left 3 telephone messages and they have not replied to me once.
I am seeking legal advice to see if i can get my money back. Don't buy anything from this company.

Non-existent customer service

Sent me a broken ipod charger. Do not answer emails, do not answer phone messages, no joy with complaint to paypal either (apparently they only protect against non-delivery with non-ebay items - they don't protect against rubbish being sent out). Would warn everyone to avoid buying anything from datakits - may as well burn your money! Would also warn against using paypal to pay for goods outside ebay - you get more protection from your credit card company.

Not so bad

I would not have bought from Datakits if I had seen all the bad reviews beforehand, but my experience was not bad. I bought a mobile case and received a case the next day (very good). However, the case was not the case advertised being a cheaper alternative (not good). I emailed the sales department and received a prompt reply (to my relief). After a couple of more emails, both of which received prompt replies I decided to accept the product sent me and Datakits' offer of a partial refund, which was in line with the price I could have got it elsewhere. There was a bit of a delay in receiving the refund but after a reminder from me I received the refund via paypal. The plus point is that I have an acceptable mobile case at an acceptable price. The negative point is that Datakits were descrbing a product they didn't have. But at least they did resolve the problem promptly.

fake headphones

was promised delivery in 5 days ,took 6 after making enquiry. I bought sennheiser cx500 earphones the sound is terrible, did some reserch on the web, they are fakes, much worse the standard ipod plugs which are supposed to be cheapies. please beware lot of fakes out there. reading reviews on here I have no chance of refund.

I bought an item from this crappy internet store and received it after 19 days from purchase date and only because I started PayPal claim. I closed a case in PayPal and just after that I realised, that my item is faulty, totally dead. Datakits sent me RMA number and I've sent faulty item with all papers and everything back to Datakits. Now waiting more than two weeks and just got an answer from Datakits, that they still didn't received my item. But I know they DID, cuz i'm from UK.

Please, do NOT waste your time and money for this company, I really hope they'll be closed soon.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE VERY VERY BAD

I ordered an iPod Fm transmitter on 13th July 2009. After no sight nor sound for a week I emailed them and got the typical automated response. I emailed again, same response. I read the reviews and decided I was going to lose out one way or another so I bombarded them with an email every three hours or so in large text and started then on the complaints@datakits.co.uk. They have not replied but my item has now been dispatched...despite telling them I want a refund. Lets see what turns up first...my item or those flying pigs I ordered off Amazon where I should have gone in the first place.

Do not touch

Ordered a Ipod alarm clock, thought it was a good deal. The payment was taken immediatly followed by an email confirming the order and saying it had been dispatched.
I never saw any sign of this ipod clock, emailed them only to be sent back an automated message. Was trying to get in contact with them for over 3 months, no contact was recieved back.
In the end rang the debit dispute team who credited me back my money and claimed there money back of the company.
How are they allowed to trade?!

Hi, i have had a similar problem with Datakits. I ordered and paid for a Jabra BT250V bluetooth headset on 6th June 2009 and sent email after email with no reply. I got a reply saying we will send you a new item out after tracing the tracking number from the first item which they di not disclose to me. I am sendin email after email with no reply. They must have blocked my email address now as i'm not even recieving the automated email. It's now the 10th July and still no item recieved or email to explain why. I also entered a code for free shipping which which was taken off the price on the site but was charged to my credit card. I'm am wondering if to contact the police and report it as theft now as i am getting no replies to my emails.

A fraud

Should be able to give zero stars. Took money immediately (more than they should), sent e-mail saying it had been despatched (some chance!), nothing arrived. No response to any form of communication. Why are they allowed to carry on without being prosecuted?

I have a very upset daughter who ordered an MP3 player from this company. We used my debit card to pay. The item turned up really fast, but was very poor quality and faulty. A return and refund was agreed by email (yes, they did respond). We returned the item and received an email saying 'refunded'. When I checked my bank account there was no refund and in fact, the original payment they had taken was £6 more than stated on the invoice.

My complaints emails were initially replied to but I have now been ignored for over a week.

Not expecting to see my £52 any time soon.

I too wish I had read the reviews first as I would never have touched this company...

Where is my order after a month?

I had the same "paypal payment pending" experience as another user. A month has gone by now and my e-mails to Datakits are met only with automated responses.
I (like the other reviewer) was told that my item was posted, but of course it never was.
Grrrr.

Ordered 2 hard drives only received 1 - tel line is answer machine and the email is an automated response... i 'm taking legal action against the company-note how they dont even list a proper address just a po box number

We recently purchased an FM Transmitter from Datakits.

When it arrived we found it to be of very poor sound quality and was totally unuseable.

We called Datakits on 0870 4111114 to ask how to return the product and get a refund. We left our details including order number and contatct phone number, together with details of the prolem on their answerphone. That was three weeks ago, todate we have not had any response.

We then looked up reviews on the web and found our experience was one that many people shared. We noow realise we will never get a reply. This is apparently standard practice for this company.How I wish I had seen this web site and all the reviews before wasting £27.

Worst online experience ever

Ordered a Klipsch I groove. Item was dispatched quickly however it was in a torn box and the item had clearly been used and was substandard.
Returned the item and cannot raise any response by email, letter or phone. Still waiting 3 weeks later for a replacement or refund.
To add insult to injury I have been overcharged by £7 against the invoiced price
Have now passed to trading standards and Barclaycard to resolve

Feel like i've been scammed

I ordered some replacements covers for my mobile phone. Ordered the items on the 23rd April still not received 2 weeks later. I have sent them numerous emails, there is an auto response message but they don't reply in person. The annoying thing the money has been taken from my bank account but on their website it says Paypal payment pending.
I've opened a Paypal dispute so hopefully I can get my money back.

This site is a total scam.

Worst online shopping experience I have ever had

After placing my order, the status on their site stayed at "paypal payment pending" for several days. After NUMEROUS emails to them providing transaction details and assurances in automated return emails that I'd receive a reply within 24 hours, I received no reply whatsoever. I had no alternative but to raise a dispute with PayPal. Miraculously, less than 2 hours later, they managed to send an apologetic response and stated my order was being despatched. My order had then somehow allegedly been "despatched by recorded delivery" that day. As they claim they hadn't actually realised that they'd had the payment for over a week (payment was made immediately when the order was placed) until around 9pm, I leave the reader to draw their own conclusions about whether or not the order really could have been despatched at that time of night. Anyway, 5 days later, it still hasn't arrived albeit there has been a holiday weekend. However I am not holding my breath. I do know that in my experience, I WOULD normally have received an item posted by that method on that day (or even the next) by now. I am not sure if they are simply incompetent or it is something more sinister. Either way I will never use these again. The only positive I can take from this experience is that I will ALWAYS look for reviews like this before placing orders with unknown sellers in future.

total ripoff

i ordered cable from datakits and was told it would be dispatched within 2 days. nothing received After 2 weeks. contacted them and still no reply either to email or phone. eventually got an email saying they would check with carrier ( royal mail or parcel force). Nothing further heard. They seemed quick enough to take my money. I have now instigated a claim through Paypal although it seems they dont want to reply to them either. I would never order from them again

Like Legions Of Others, I Too Have Been Burnt

31 days ago order placed, following day money transfered, day after goods allegedly dispatched.
No response to 'phone call, e-mails. A registered letter only elected gibberish. No further replies to any of my e-mails.
Today after cancelling order, Consumer Direct and Trading Standards informed.

Don't use Datakits

Have not received my order from the 11th March. According to their website it was awaiting shipping on the 16th. Still nothing. Not even a reply to my emails, other than an automated response. Have filed a dispute with PayPal.

Never deal with this website! This website charge money without sending the goods. And there is NO customer service at all.

I ordered a laptop backpack a month ago from DATAKITS. The next day they charged my credit card and sent an email to me saying the bag was dispatched. 2 weeks later the bag still did no show up. During the following 10 days I attempted 6 times trying to contact them by emails/phone, I tried every email address I could find on their website. NOBODY RESPONDED TO ANY EMAIL/VOICE MESSAGE.NOBODY PICKED UP ANY PHONE CALL. In the end I decided to dispute money back and sent a final email to them, stating that I will report to trade standards and police. Guess what, somebody REPLIED that email and 10 days later, the bag finally turned up.

FRAUDULENT

It has been exactly 48 days since I ordered the stuff. Although money has been taken from my credit card the good never arrived I sent several email's but no reply. in conclusion I have say that Datakits is a con company engaged in DAY LIGHT ROBBERY

Datakits.co.uk never sent my phone spare parts payed with PayPal. They answered none of my multiple mails. I raised a complaint at PayPal. What else can I do ? Moreover, I'm French and it's difficult for me to know who I can ask for help.

I placed an order with this company and I so wish I'd researched them first. I ordered an MP3 player for my son for Christmas on 1st December and it's never arrived. I've emailed, I've phoned, all numerous times and I get auto-responders and answer machines.

They are clearly rip off merchants but the really upsetting thing for me is that because I developed heart failure earlier this year and cannot now work, I had to spend only £50 each on my kids and this was the only gift I had for my son. I've now had to borrow money to get him another one from a reputable company.
