Terrible company

Just like so many people I ordered goods from this company which have never arrived. Despite the offer of a refund nothing has been received and the company do not reply to emails. I have been in touch with Trading Standards who are currently investigating this company. I will also contact Hampshire Police Fraud section as this seems like out and out theft. Had to give one star but real rating is zero.

Money taken but no Item sent

This site is a con and a lot of people are being ripped off. Judge by their reviews on many review sites They do not send the items out but take your money.
Contact is a joke no emails are replied to and left phone call messages are ignored.
I have now got the problem of trying to get my money back

i re-iterate the above comments. report them to their webhost abuse at 1and1 dot co dot uk

google checkout banned them. no bank would touch them so they get someone to process the payments for them currently is paypal and credit/debit cards via a firm you should lobby www dot cardsave dot net to do same (0808 149 5181 or 0800 058 8200). ask card save for their real number they have to give it (reject any 0844s). of course, they may be "bullet proof" card processor i.e. fraud friendly as they generate profit up till a point. actually cardsave.net are well known for slamming business customers telling them termination fees from other merchant processing providers are illegal then when you cancel apparently invoicing for £705. they know all about nicecans.co.uk and fraud but you might like to all phone them on their freefone number but note they wont let you if you with hold your number so be creative. its obvious why. they are almost as big a scam but that's a story for another day.

unless they have given their suppliers details or the 'L' in the GDL logo on gadget-distribution dot co.uk doesn't stand for Limited, you might recognise the following gentlemans website and many of the products. WHOIS address for below .com is part fake.. google maps show country side, a house, land rover and no high street (royalmail.com it you will see high st is not part of their address and the rest is inconsistent).

From 2007, he was scamming using the now infamous site datakits.co.uk (google it for lots and lots of other forums complaints!) and living with Helen (surname before marriage Young, a teacher and now "Portsmouth NUT" caseworker). Massive con operation..lots of threads on google including trust pilot where people used his parents phone number or police to somehow get their money back.. I don't advise. 123-reg.co.uk do nothing but keep registering domains for them.

they're getting careless though as although its still hard to prove a criminal offence, they don't appear to be a limited company any more thus can't go bust with all your money and legitimize it like the sofa reincarnation companies, so can probably now be personally sued in the smaill claims court use moneyclaim.gov.uk will cost £25 and you can do yourself. winning a judgement would be simple enforcing it is not guaranteed. baliffs might need to be sent in to their house. or other people have phoned his parents or threatened police but certainly don't advise this!! instead take the civils steps of credit or debit card dispute and also contact your local police force to make a crime report which will be forwarded on to his local force. Trading Standards at Portsmouth City Council have ordered him to comply with certain regulations before and with threads on him 25 pages long, the Police cannot claim anymore he is just an incompetent business man. I recall a case on BBC Watchdog about a dodgey locksmith who would perform unecessary work, fitting unecessary new cheap locks at luxury lock prices and drove Ferraris. He's now in jail, at last.

Shame not a 'no star' rating

In July ordered 2 phone cases - sent a cheque - cashed promptly - 4 letters later and no sign of any goods and no reply. Just about to shred and draw a line under it as I'm annoyed my hard earned cash has been taken but wish I had read reviews before losing my money - minimal amount but not the point!

ordered 2 sets of sony headphones and ipod headphone adpators with built in mics on 14th &15th december 2010, had comfirmation email saying that my goods had been despatched, still waiting, sent them 2 emails still no reply, having read all these reveiws looks like i,v lost my money, does anybody know who i report these crooks to. Surely kelkoo and google should remove these crooks off the internet so no one else looses any more money, its hard enough too earn money as it is without crooks like these stealing off ya!!!!!

dont use

I ordered an ipod docking station on 12 nov and after 2 weeks had received nothing. E-mailed datakits to be told the item would be sent out within 2 days but a week later still no goods. I paid with a credit card so rang credit card company who sent off an investigation that day and within 2 days had received an e-mail from datakits saying I was being refunded and couldnt believe it when my credit card was refunded on 20 Dec! Will be a lot more careful with future transactions and wish i'd read the reviews before ordering!

Don't use

Like many others I am embarrassed that I didn't read the reviews. My order was small so I was less diligent than normal which is exactly what they rely on i.e. small orders, people don't bother to take it any further and they pocket the cash with no comeback. Avoid like the plague

Terrible

To keep it short, my order total was under £7, I decided i did not want this product, which was a phone charger. I contacted Datakits on 7 occasions receiving no reply. Three weeks later nothing.

After reading around the internet, I could not believe that I was not the only one conned by this company, and that they were still running!.

I contacted SAGEPAY who had processed my payment, with all the details. It took 2 messages to sagepay, and lo and behold I received a refund!

So, all those who paid via SAGEPAY, contact them with the details, and keep contacting them. After all, they are the ones processing the payments for these jokers. All the bad press reflects bad on them.

Paying with paypal could pose problems as they seem to provide paypal with false signed for slips, which paypal seem to accept as delivery, even though the goods have never ever been delivered.

Con artists

Embarrassed that I didnt take note of the experiences on this site- The goods orderd in October simply haven't arrived. No e-mails have been returned (and there's no telephone number to hassle). Given up now on ever seeing my goods and/or money again

The problem I guess is that they assume that as the amounts are small, no-one will kick up a fuss (mine was a mere £9)- but if someone nicked a tenner off me in the street & I knew who they were, I would report them for theft- why should datakits be allowed to do the same (but hide behind a kosher business !)- report has been sent to trading standards (hopefully the more people that do it, the more chance of action).

I'm not a serial moaner (my first online review!) but I hate being conned- and these guys are simply the worse example of online cowboys (anyone got any friends at watchdog!!)

do not be fooled, any good reviews on this page are by the individual himself. He rarely appears to have, the stock claimed and if you threaten and report, all you will get in the end is a second hand or damaged item which could almost have been purchased by him from ebay or similar!
Should you wish to contact him direct and have any impact at all tie the message to a brick ( this is of course a light hearted suggestion how you deal with the fraudulent or criminals in your life is entirely your own responsibility). As he rarely responds to any form of contact listed on the spurious site.

But when i connected the cable to my tv it didn't work, don't buy nothing from these people. Seems now I'll have to pay these people a visit.

Item never arrived

It contacted them several times over the course of a month, but never got a reply. I ended up having to go through my debit card company to get a refund. Useless.

Never got battery ordered a month plus ago

I wish I had seen this website before paying this company £15.98; they answered the first email saying they would chase up the order and said I should have got it but despite emails to them for them to send my order still no battery.

Service? Non existent!

I ordered a Wii Drumkit which should have included a microphone. When opened, no microphone! Emailed through website and return email advised the item would be sent out (this was July!) Have emailed numerous times and never had another response! Still waiting for the microphone and no doubt will never see it!!!!!!!!!

Should have read these reviews before placing the order! Add me to the list of many un-saftisfied customers!

How this company are allowed to operate i'll never know...

Firstly time i have felt strongly enought to write a review on a forum and unfortunately its not a good one....

Sad to say a very similar experience to all of the below, ordered a product 2 months ago - still no delivery despite repeated attempts to contact this joker Mike who runs the place. Got an email about a month after i ordered apologising but still havent received anything a further month later still no product or even an email for that matter.

Beware of other companies who i think are run by the same guy, odds and pods are one i think - you'll recognise the website layout being very similar to datakits with same stock etc...

Money down the drain - surely this place must be shut down?!

Caught out too!!

Ordered a wireless USB adaptor from them, unfortunaterly without reading reviews first (my bad!). It was a very specific one, and these guys were the only ones that had it "in stock". Paid £13 + delivery which seemed reasonable. Item never arrived, despite payment being taken.

Emailed after 10 days. No reply. Emailed two days later and another two days later. Eventually 'Mike' replied saying that it is in stock now and it's in the post. Waited. And waited. No little parcel through the letterbox. Emailed demanding a refund. No reply. Emailed again. No reply. Emailed again. No reply. Emailed again. Eventually received a reply saying it had been sent, though would refund.

Only bit of credit I can give is that I have now received a refund. I know it was only for about £17, but it's the principle!!

Please, don't get caught out by me and seemingly 98% of others reviewing them. Chances are you won't be in the 2% of happy customers, so just go elsewhere!!

Another mug got caught out

Like so many others I have been caught out by these guys. They have sent me the wrong product and have made it impossible to return and get a refund.

They continue to give the impression that they make ever effort to sell low cost items with the hope that we all rather forget about it then take it up with Trading Standards.

Never received items I ordered and despite 4 emails and 3 answerphone messages and their promise to get back within 48 hours, nothing. So glad I found this site so that other people can be warned. I shall be letting the payment companies they use know about Datakits. I am surprised they havent pulled the plug on them long ago having looked at the other reviews of this company.

DO NOT USE DATAKITS

Just like all the other reviews, they took my money the same day, and over 2 weeks later nothing has arrived. They do not answer their phone and my emails are still sitting there showing as unopened. It is a disgrace that this company is still allowed to trade

Fraudulent company - do NOT buy from them!

Ordered an item at £23.98, got confirmation email but never received anything. They did not answer any of my emails. Phone number does not work. After having claimed money back from credit card company they finally got in contact with me. They claimed item had been sent but they did not provide any reference or date that would allow me to track it. Now, they have come back to my credit card company with a Royal Mail tracking number. Only problem is that their tracking number does not match the postoffice it would have been delivered from. They are complete frauds and they should not be allowed to trade.

Should not be allowed to trade

We ordered a Blackberry battery in June 2009 and it was faulty so we returned it. We sent more than 8 emails to the company and they kept promising to look into it. My final email was in September 2009 and I have not received a response. We are £13 out of pocket. The company is absolutely useless and should be closed down.

Sold me FAKE goods and ignored my repeated requests to return them

I ordered the following 2 Nokia Batteries (copied/pasted from the order):
1 x Genuine Nokia Original Battery BL-5J BL5J for 5800 Xpress Music (BAT3-BL-5J) = £14.99
1 x Genuine Nokia BL-5F Battery Original for N95 N93i N96 6210 6290 (BAT1-BL-5F) = £12.99

Needless to say both batteries that I received were FAKE. No phone number to contact and no replies to e-mail in order to return them.

Terrible Eshop

I ordered some blank dvds totalling £25. I never recieved the items and couldnt contact anyone at the company by email or phone.
As I paid via paypal I have now recovered my lost money so not all bad.

Long story short, Item was ordered early Dec 2009 and didn't come after promises it was on way in the end started a Pay Pal claim to get my money refunded only then did they pull their finger out and my product arrived in early Feb. Even though I had repeatedly asked them to cancel order and refund my money.

Wish I had read the reviews but even then didn't think anyone could be that bad but they are awful. Notice they do not put a phone number to contact them direct . . . Wonder why?!?!

TOTAL RIP OFF

Wish I had read reviews!!!!! I am now in the process of trying to recover £87.98 paid to datakits on the 5 th Jan 2010 for a DVD Recorder, I have spent the past 2 weeks attempting to contact this company via there email messaging service all to no avail!!!! I paid for this item through my paypal account so I am hoping to recoup my payment, I have also filed a complaint with the Consumer direct website, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST I WISH I HAD !!!!!!!!

Rubbish!

I placed an order on 12th Jan 2010, I received an email stating that my item would be dispatched within 2 days on 13th Jan 2010 and that I would be informed if there was a delay, I have still not received the item ordered and no further emails have been received despite the money leaving my account on the 14th Jan 2010.
I subsequently emailed several times 'admin@datakits.co.uk', 'returns@datakits.co.uk', 'sales@datakits.co.uk' and 'complaints@datakits.co.uk' and left messages on their answerphone all with no reply. I sent an email yesterday advising they contact me within 7 days or legal action would be considered, I received a call from Rachael at Datakits stating their emails had gone down and the item would be chased and I would receive a call at 9am this morning, she wouldn't give me another contact number, no call has been received!

OH MY GOD, i can rant forever, and ever and ever about these lot, purchased 6600 mobile screen on 17/12/09 email sayin wil b wid u by 20/12 , nothing, rang, nothing, emailed since... nothing! left messages on the phone! and no reply! HERE COMES THE BIG ONE! i disputed via paypal and oh got a reply, saying sorry mishap will be sent today by mike on the 05/01 - and still NOTHING! since then paypal looked into the dispute, i provided them with links to this website and others about peoples complaints, showed them all my emaails, gave them their number and said nobody answers, what did datakits do?? the b@stards gave them a FAKE yes a fake royal mail delivery trackin number for somebody who lives the other side of the uk from me, signed by somebody else on the 29/12/09 and what did paypal do??? OH THEY SAID ITS GOOD ENOUGH, WERE CLOSING THE DISPUTE IN DATAKITS FAVOUR THEY PROVIDED A TRACKING NUMBER, i went mad i rang paypal i questioned their incompetent demanour and what did i get in return from their complaints department?? "the case has been settled, if you can get something in writing from royal mail saying it wasnt sent to your address, we will reopen the dispute" so i rang royal mail.... and what did they say??? "we dont store addresses from tracking numbers, sorry we can just send you a letter stating what office it was delivered from" so they did, i sent the letter to paypal.... and they replied "seeing as the delivery was made within 30 miles from your address from a royal mail sorting office, we ruled that it was authorized by yourself and rule in favour of the seller" OH MY GOD WHAT A FLAMING JOKE!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!?!?! IM OFF TO PORTSMOUTH IT MIGHT COST ME HUNDREDS IN TRAVELLING FOR something i paid £30 for, but this is personal now, i will not rest until i have been compensated and i will torture each and every one of them!

PAYMENT TAKEN BUT NO GOODS RECEIVED

I ordered an alarm clock and paid using the online service, they've taken the money out my account but datakits has not even sent through confirmation that I bought it. Have emailed numourous times without response.

Just wondering how they're even still up and running with this many bad reviews...wish I'd found this site beforehand :(

Did actually get something delivered yet wasnt what i ordered and was only half the price of what i ordered and now like everyone else cant get a reply from telephone messages or emails.

Steer well clear!

I wish I'd checked the forums before buying an external hard drive from datakits. With no delivery after 3 weeks I chased the order. They claimed it must have got lost in the post, but it's fairly obvious they never had it in stock in the first place. They said they'd post another one and I feared the worst, but a week later a package arrived. I say package, it was a plastic courier bag. Inside the bag a box was wrapped in a sheet of loose bubble wrap, and inside the box the drive was also loose and rattling around like a snake. I plugged it in and instantly realized it had been used before and was obviously a 'return' or 'second'. All the system files were missing and the format had been changed. If Amazon are the best reason to shop on the internet then datakits must be the worst.

Useless!

I bought a Krussell mobile phone case from this company on the 23rd October 2009. The order was processed and money taken immediately.
To date I have received nothing.
I have emailed each of the available accounts on their website several times and left messages on their answer machine, (Clever that they don't have anybody manning the phone line!)
So, no product, email reply or call back.
Do not deal with these unless you are happy to pay out but receive nothing.

Thieves

I purchased a pair of headphones from Datakits, they sent me the wrong ones which I sent back, since then they haven't responded to my emails or refunded my cash. This is theft & Paypal were uselss and sided with Datakits.

Worst company ever

I have paid £50 for a number of items from Datakits on the 26th October. I still have not received them. Also, I have contacted them on 6 occasions by e-mail and left 3 telephone messages and they have not replied to me once.
I am seeking legal advice to see if i can get my money back. Don't buy anything from this company.
