I ordered a keyboard advertised on Dawson's website only to be told that it was a discontinued line. They offered the latest version but I was able to obtain this for less elsewhere so they apparently did not value my custom that much.

Had advice in store in Liverpool regarding a new elec drum kit. Checked Dawsons online and ended up dealing with [name] at Warrington. Paid over the phone 23rd Nov. Goods arrived Tues 26th Nov whilst at work. Unpacked the TD15K however the STAND was missing. Phoned Warrington who were shocked! I then had a call from Reading where the goods were dispatched from. He was apologetic but came out with the statement "Well you know what it's like first thing on a Monday morning!" Stand then arrived early Thurs and was damaged so awaiting a new leg or new stand. Front legs not protected with white foam so the large hand knob had pressed into the front leg and creased it. As I had bought a bundle pack I then unpacked the double kick pedal. Guess what! In READING double means 2 of the same so they had dispatched the wrong pedal "Obviously another Monday morning error!" Warrington to the rescue yet again and after a trip to Liverpool the pedal was switched for the correct one. So to some up this experience......[name] & [name] at Warrington a brilliant service, [name] and the staff at Liverpool brilliant. READING a complete and utter shambles. Perhaps you should pick orders on a Monday afternoon when you have woken up?
I was assured by Dawsons that the courier they use would contact me the day before delivery to tell me roughly what time they would be delivering. On the day i was expecting it to probably arrive I had heard nothing so phoned Dawsons to check what was happening. They checked and it was due to arrive within the hour! Very fortunately I was in but if it had been a work day there would have been no-one there to sign for it.....
Using a reliable courier who informs you when they will deliver makes you much more likely to buy from you again.

I tried ordering some gear and the order didn't go through. Tried again and the same thing happened. At the third attemp the order went through.
Check my account the next day and Dawson's had managed to take the cash for all 3 transactions. Ok this happens sometimes. But my problem with Dawson's is that I didn't get email notification saying I'd ordered the extra items. They just shipped 1 item and took the money for 3. I didn't get much of an apology or offers of future discount for this mess and I could have ended up being badly overdrawn at my bank.
Can't say I'd use the website again after that debacle.
Even though the guitar I was after wasn't available from their suppliers, thanks to the customer services we could find a solution, they did take care of everything. After we agreed on the new guitar it was delivered next day. Excellent service, great communications, highly recommended. Many thanks guys again.
As a pensioner i purchased this guitar on a 12months no interest plan so as not to stretch my finances. The guitar a Yamaha apx 700 11 cost £493 arrived five days after order so far so good. I opened the box to find two items, one guitar, one alan key, this guitar certainly had not been packed by yamaha. No paper work, no guarantee, no serial number even the batteries had been installed, i have seen how yamaha check and dispatch their goods, if you received it like this from yamaha you would have sent it back, i didn't have this option as i needed a working guitar for this weekend, also the guitar was unplayable, strings were half an inch off the neck, took the guitar to PMT in m/c and had new strings fitted, truss on neck lowered and bridge shaved, cost excluding strings £35. while at PMT i asked how i would expect a yamaha guitar to be dispatched, certainly not what i got, also there were to marks on the back of the guitar probably caused by the alan key floating round the box. So if you can be bothered i would like some kind of paperwork in case i decide to sell the guitar in the future. The guitar now plays well and i am pleased it but at a cost. Unhappy customer.

Bought myself a new American Standard Fender Stratocaster online from Dawson's Music. The whole process was very easy and efficient - they sent regular update e-mails on my order status and when the guitar itself arrived it exceeded my expectations - a fantastic quality instrument. Ordered a Pioneer DDJ SX through Dawsons, found them helpful as I was ordering a unit to delivered at a work address, something other online shops do not offer. Spoke to a few staff to get it sorted and they were all really nice and made me feel comfortable, I was glad I used them. The delivery was quick and everything about the transaction was positive. I ordered an item on the 21st of October, and a week later recieved an email about how it was not due to be in stock until the 7th of November. I requested a delivery upgrade as I needed the item quite urgently, and recieved a fairly curt reply telling me that it would be delivered as normal. It is now the 27th of November and they have only just shipped it. What comes out of a bulls backside?
I was looking for a pedal for my son for Christmas and after trying all the local shops found what I was looking for on line. The item came well packaged and I was kept informed of its journey and arrival at my street. Thank you.
After buying online, we sat beck to look forward to receiving our son's fabulous birthday gift....we'd paid a little more than we hoped, but he'll love it!
The next day, despite the payment having been accepted I received an email to tell me that the goods were out of stock (the web site still says there are 235 in stock) but would be here in time for Christmas....this would be too late, his birthday is the 1st December! I started email ping pong to try to sort this out. The one thing that impressed me is that I have dealt with the same person each time I emailed, not passed from pillar to post like some companies have a tendency to do.
'Mike' told me that all they had in was demo stock. I asked if we could purchase this at a reduced rate, as is the norm when you buy demo stock from most retailers in my experience, Mike said that this was not possible, which disappointed me no end, saying that they could send out the next spec up (only another £100+ quid!!). I love my son but.......! The alternative was the demo stock at full cost (probably used & abused but I will reserve judgement) with upgraded freebies & a drum stool thrown in.
He had convinced me..AND..it would be here for Tues..(ace)..only thing is, its now Wed and I'm still waiting!!...........
Following my review I have received an email from Dawsons telling me it has been dispatched. They gave me a tracking code for DPD which I used. DPD are saying they do not yet have the parcel but they received instruction to collect one at 10.30am today. I have now had a phone call from the manager who appears to be going out of his way to resolve this situation. Hopefully I will be able to give a good review after all.
Order guitar for my boyfriend when really I have no idea what I'm looking for. The site has great reviews an enabled me to pick the ideal electric guitar and amp.... Was kept up to date with delivery an this was brought into my house ... Excellent would definitely go to Dawson's site again for more presents for my other half thank you
I bought a beginners electric drum kit for my daughter. We first went to the Stockport store to try one out and the sales assistant was very helpful, without being condescending given my obvious lack of musical knowledge. We went home and ordered the kit online. Delivery was very fast. No problems at all. Have already directed other people to look at the store for other purchases.
I've been looking for a Wilko Johnson Telecaster and luckily Dawsons had a few delivered to their warehouse and at a very good price. I phoned them to confirm and spoke with Joe who was very helpful and sorted out my order over the phone. The Telecaster was delivered the next day, I couldn't believe how quick the whole process was. I would highly recommend Dawsons, Their website is easy to navigate and the prices are very competative.
We bought a gibson guitar for my son for christmas and so it had to stay as a surprise. When I called Dawsons for help they were great, I dont know much about musical instruments as it is my son who knows all about them. They gave me the advice I needed and advised me on which guitar to go for and which ones to avoid. We then ordered online and I received a call to explain what I had bought and how long the delivery will be. The parcel came quick and was well packaged. Bought a Dr Tone power supply, was then told it was not in stock but would be expected in on the 07th November. I said I would be happy to wait until the 07th. It's now the 21st, I've had no communication from Dawsons and no power supply. Customer service haven't replied to my email chasing them. Very disappointing online experience considering staff in the stores are usually very helpful
started well with the good finance package but all gone downhill since then.
piano arrived weeks early. stool still not arrived weeks late. included headphones arrived late but isunusable. they appear to be made for a giant with a large affro and far too big for me let alone my daughter
shame but if you don't need the finance can certainly get cheaper and more efficiently elsewhere.
Ordered the Epiphone Thunderbird IV bass guitar for my son's 21st birthday next week. It arrived within a few days and was well packed to avoid any damage. I'm sure he will be thrilled with it. Would definitely use this company again.
