After buying online, we sat beck to look forward to receiving our son's fabulous birthday gift....we'd paid a little more than we hoped, but he'll love it!
The next day, despite the payment having been accepted I received an email to tell me that the goods were out of stock (the web site still says there are 235 in stock) but would be here in time for Christmas....this would be too late, his birthday is the 1st December! I started email ping pong to try to sort this out. The one thing that impressed me is that I have dealt with the same person each time I emailed, not passed from pillar to post like some companies have a tendency to do.
'Mike' told me that all they had in was demo stock. I asked if we could purchase this at a reduced rate, as is the norm when you buy demo stock from most retailers in my experience, Mike said that this was not possible, which disappointed me no end, saying that they could send out the next spec up (only another £100+ quid!!). I love my son but.......! The alternative was the demo stock at full cost (probably used & abused but I will reserve judgement) with upgraded freebies & a drum stool thrown in.
He had convinced me..AND..it would be here for Tues..(ace)..only thing is, its now Wed and I'm still waiting!!...........
Following my review I have received an email from Dawsons telling me it has been dispatched. They gave me a tracking code for DPD which I used. DPD are saying they do not yet have the parcel but they received instruction to collect one at 10.30am today. I have now had a phone call from the manager who appears to be going out of his way to resolve this situation. Hopefully I will be able to give a good review after all.
Order guitar for my boyfriend when really I have no idea what I'm looking for. The site has great reviews an enabled me to pick the ideal electric guitar and amp.... Was kept up to date with delivery an this was brought into my house ... Excellent would definitely go to Dawson's site again for more presents for my other half thank you
I bought a beginners electric drum kit for my daughter. We first went to the Stockport store to try one out and the sales assistant was very helpful, without being condescending given my obvious lack of musical knowledge. We went home and ordered the kit online. Delivery was very fast. No problems at all. Have already directed other people to look at the store for other purchases.
I've been looking for a Wilko Johnson Telecaster and luckily Dawsons had a few delivered to their warehouse and at a very good price. I phoned them to confirm and spoke with Joe who was very helpful and sorted out my order over the phone. The Telecaster was delivered the next day, I couldn't believe how quick the whole process was. I would highly recommend Dawsons, Their website is easy to navigate and the prices are very competative.
We bought a gibson guitar for my son for christmas and so it had to stay as a surprise. When I called Dawsons for help they were great, I dont know much about musical instruments as it is my son who knows all about them. They gave me the advice I needed and advised me on which guitar to go for and which ones to avoid. We then ordered online and I received a call to explain what I had bought and how long the delivery will be. The parcel came quick and was well packaged. I was that impressed I am going back to purchase a drum kit now for my other son. The only problem now is hiding them all until christmas. Thank you Dawsons
Bought a Dr Tone power supply, was then told it was not in stock but would be expected in on the 07th November. I said I would be happy to wait until the 07th. It's now the 21st, I've had no communication from Dawsons and no power supply. Customer service haven't replied to my email chasing them. Very disappointing online experience considering staff in the stores are usually very helpful
started well with the good finance package but all gone downhill since then.
piano arrived weeks early. stool still not arrived weeks late. included headphones arrived late but isunusable. they appear to be made for a giant with a large affro and far too big for me let alone my daughter
shame but if you don't need the finance can certainly get cheaper and more efficiently elsewhere.
Ordered the Epiphone Thunderbird IV bass guitar for my son's 21st birthday next week. It arrived within a few days and was well packed to avoid any damage. I'm sure he will be thrilled with it. Would definitely use this company again.
Delighted with product and with Sales. Delivery was 3 days after promised date And wrongly labelled causing a further day for dial delivery. Good response to labelling problem, but those lost days caused serious problems.
All was well, they promised me next day delivery, which was a birthday gift to a dear friend.. only to be waiting 3 days before "I" had to contact them and ask where my delivery was.. only to be lied to regarding deliver. An attempted delivery was made apparently! A complete lie, I was home all day, and further more, I have a 720p security camera outside of the only entrance to my property, which is recording 24/7.
If your driver couldn't make the delivery, I'd have preferred to have been warned and not blatantly lied to!!
I have also not received my refund yet!!
The price was as cheap as anyone and they provided a very good deal with the drum throne and drumsticks.
It was all delivered in a couple of days with everything in A1 condition.
I will definitely be buying from Dawsons again and would have no hesitation in recommending them to family and friends
I was looking around for a cheap trumpet to re-learn what was a hobby when I was younger (wasn't sure if I'd stick it out). Went to a certain auction site and while they were OK, you're never quite sure what you're gonna get.
Decided to look at what Dawsons were offering and saw this offering. I bought the mirage MTR 150 trumpet and a Dennis wick straight mute. when it came - and it came pretty darn quick - I was absolutely made up. It took me back to my school days. I played it straight away and it all came flooding back. The mute (i didn't have one of these in school days and is a must when living in a terraced house) does a fine job. The case is ace too.
If I keep my interest in this, I will buy a more expensive instrument but for now this is perfect for my needs.
We have bought several guitars from the Dawsons shop but this is the first time we've bought anything online from them.

I ordered a Fender Jaguar bass online from Dawsons music and received it within 24 hours - superb service. Added to this, the guitar was well-packed and secure. The staff that I dealt with were very helpful and polite and gave useful advice about the guitar. The guitar itself was amazingly playable straight from the box. I've had it a week now and can't put it down - my wifes not happy... I would definitely purchase further gear from this company - good job and well done.
I rang initially about an acoustic electric for my 6yr old son. After some discussion re what i'd read about small fingers and steel strings, i settled on an acoustic instead. The young man (young maaaaaaan) i was speaking to was very helpful indeed, happy to talk through the decision etc.

I ordered goods but stock was delayed for a few weeks so I was asked if I wanted to order an alternative, which I did. Delivery was quick and was well packaged.
I placed my online order on a busy Thursday afternoon, one phone call later to clarify the delivery address and the order was sorted. They then sent me a quick text to let me know when it would be delivered, and the goods arrived at the time that they said.
So no dramas.
