Holidaytaxis

Booking non-existent

Sounds similar to previous poster... I booked a transfer from Lanzarote Arrecife. I arrived and was told that there was no record of booking. Told me that if I took a taxi then it would be refunded by central office. Paid 50 euros for a taxi now they say they will only refund cost of my booking ie 8 euros. So annoyed as I would have booked another shuttle bus if they had not been able to do it. Wasted 40 euros because they didn't communicate my booking to the local agent. AVOID.

Not so cheap when they don't turn up !

We were due to return to Tenerife Sur airport on Friday 20 August - advertised pick up at 10.30am.

Having read the small print I contacted the Reconfirmation tel.no. 0034-922-795503 on Wednesday
18 August during office hours only to be told that they could not confirm until the following day (Thurs 19 August). When I said that I could not during office hours (we were due on an all-day trip on the Thursday), they told me to call the emergency number on that day, which I did at 6pm on return from our trip. When I did this, I was informed by an irritated contact then that I should have done this in office hours. I explained that I could not, and she subsequently confirmed pickup time of 1120am instead.
I thought that this was probably purely because we were the only pick up and thus it would not take 1 hour 15 mins to get to the airport so was not overly concerned.

At 1105 we set out from the Sunset Harbour to the (small print) advertised pick up point (Bus Stop at Esmeralda Plaza) 5 minutes away - in good time and waited there by the roadside. The contact no. had also reiterated the pickup at the Esmeralda
By 1130 there was still no sign of any taxi marked 'Holiday Taxis' - and I can swear that none had passed me as I was by the roadside watching out for one in the slow moving traffic. Because of the previous time change (by the way, we had also gone there at 1030 just in case) I was concerned and rang the contact tel no again.
I was told that the taxi had been to the Esmeralda and gone to the Sunset Harbour, that the driver had 'got a stamp' and that no further pickups were to be done from Adeje that day, so that I would have to get another taxi to the airport. You can understand that I was furious.

I returned to the Sunset Harbour where the receptionist told me that indeed a driver had got a stamp - but that it was an unmarked vehicle ! How were we then to be able to meet at the Esmeralda ? (Since no-one approached us ?) If the taxi was unmarked, why was I not told to wait at the Sunset Harbour instead ? And though my mobile number is clearly displayed on the booking and was switched on at the time, no attempt was made to contact me

The taxi cost me an additional 25 Euros - see receipt.
