Speak as you find

Have followed these reviews and wondered what might happen to me.Spoke to gentleman once regarding my order, and he phoned me informing of delay due to goods not being in stock.I have been patient, and sure enough received despatch confirmation email followed by recorded delivery of goods the following day,being yesterday.I cannot complain. Quality of goods is excellent. Maybe some may consider a little over a month is a long time to wait, but my order has been fulfilled as promised when stock became available.This is a genuine review and it appears to me that this company is doing it's best as far as I can see.

Waste of Space

1 star is given for the totally unacceptable experience, which includes elements that with good cause can be considered as fraud.

I Ordered my item on the 08/07/09 chased 2 weeks later - which I was told they are out of stock and would be another two weeks- chased again end of August. Was told Supplier is now out of stock - going to be another two weeks. Since then I have been working away and returned 5/11/09 so thought I would try the order tracking, it is a joke according to their order tracking message. My Item has been been processed and is awaiting packing in there warehouse started to monitor this from the 5/11/09 and I have checked every week and it has always said the same so either they have very slow packers ! or more likely my product does not exist I paid by credit card so will claim my money back through them. In the meantime I have been contacted by Dorset County Council trading standards and sent a form to fill in for them to investigate their trading practice.

Phone owner direct

I used this company a few years ago and had no problems so I used them again a few months ago. Goods didn't arrive after a few weeks and after emailing (waste of time) and phoning their regular number (always engaged), I managed to track down the owner on his direct number 01202 621169. Finally got a refund but what appalling customer service. I just wish I had found this review site before ordering.

Rip off merchants

If they had a minus rating I would give it. Talk about take the money & run!!!! I found out the weekend that my Father had purchased from the same Company and had the same problem. This Company should be shut down. Customer service dreadful, well, there isn't one really. Emails do not get answered, the phone line is always engaged, due to complaints I should imagine. Please do not buy from this Company.

Really bad service

Similar experience of a very poor company. I ordered 3 items on 10th Feb 2010. The 2 cheaper ones arrived within 2 days. I am still waiting for the third. As seems the norm for this company the phone was permanently engaged and there were no replies to e-mails. I will now e-mail Poole Trading Standards.

do not use them!!!

I ordered my item on the 09/06/2009 and paid a first class delivery. I received my goods three months later without hearing anything from the company. The company no longer replies to my e-mail, I could not contact them over the phone.

Terrible overall customer service, but I got my refund

Following my email to BBC Watchdog and Poole Trading Standards (forwarded to Consumer Direct (www.consumerdirect.gov.uk), about a week later on 3rd March, I received a call from Mike Wheale. He was very nice and very apologetic about the order and said that there had been a mix up with part of my order, all understandable but not informing the customer of these issues is still terrible customer service. I asked for a refund and this was received in my account about 3 days later for which I am very grateful. He was very helpful and said if I wanted to order anything again to call him first and he would make sure it all went smoothly. I've upped my rating from 1 to 3 mainly because I got my refund, but it took a long time and this kind of experience for a consumer shouldn't be the norm as it has been for most people on this site.

Initial review 24th February
Same experience as everyone else. Placed an order on 28th January 2010. Spent £46 including delivery, website said items were in stock. Money debited from my current account on 29th January, haven't heard a peep from them since. Emailed to chase the order on 10th February and followed that up with numerous calls, once spending a whole hour constantly calling (I have a 7 month old and a 4 year old so not time that I have) and received an engaged tone every time, except of course after 1pm when it goes to ansaphone and you cannot leave a message. I wish I had checked this website before I placed the order. But today, I emailed Poole Trading Standards (environment@poole.gov.uk) where they are based and BBC Watchdog (watchdog@bbc.co.uk) so will see what happens next.

Appalling

I ordered two items from De Cuisine last month - they took the full amount - £25 - but only sent one item. I have now emailed them three times and never received an answer. I've also tried ringing but it's always engaged and one can't leave a message. My next step will be to track them down via Companies House and send them a letter. I'm glad I found this website and I'm happy to contribute to anything that will stop other people wasting their money and time on this shambles of a company.

Order placed 18th Jan 2010 money taken 20th confirmation email received with link - order being packed! Yeah same as many others here, can't get through on phone - always engaged. I hope my bank will get my money back & these people get banged up!

FRAUD Another Similar Story Money Lost No Goods !!!!

I placed an order on the 5th of Feb 09 my money was taken the next day, according to the website its being packed !!! Some Packing !!!!!! The telephone number engaged and no reply to my email !!!! My next stop is trading standards ! What a nightmare how can they be allowed to carry on !

Fraudulent site

I ordered 3 cake tins to make a wedding cake. Payment was taken immediately, but did not even receive a confirmation e-mail of the order. No sign of them appearing and am giving up hope. Hope noone ever uses this terrible company and that all these bad reviews mean less people are cheated out of their hard-earned cash.

No Stars

We recently placed an order with this company and we share the same story as everybody else. Placed an order nearly a month ago and have never received it. Despite constant phone calls and emails, we have never had any reponse from them. A dispute has been opened with the bank to reclaim the money and with trading standards - considering the reviews on here I cannot beleive they are still being allowed to trade!!!

Rip-Off

I placed an order for 3 items - only received 2 of them - but they debited my bank account with the full amount, the third item (being the most expensive) is needed for making my own wedding cake. I have phoned but the line is constantly engaged except after 1pm when there is an answerphone, but you can not leave a message. I have also emailed twice but with no response. I just wish that I had checked out this website before ordering from them. I just wish that I lived nearer I would certainly like to meet these people face to face.

Frustrating, disgraceful behaviour from a company that appears so high up the Google ladder

I placed an order some weeks ago. I have absolutely no idea whether they intend to fulfil it. They do not answer the phone or respond to emails but continue to bombard me with their emails and seductive offers. They should not be allowed to operate like this.

unacceptable and unprofessional

I ordered 3 items from this awful website company on 6th January for a birthday gift for my Mother in Law for 11th January. Not only did the items not arrive on time, I could not get through to the company to chase. Several ignored emails later, my MIL received 2 out of the 3 items, 2 weeks later - How embarrassing! Since, I have again, sent several emails requesting information on when the last (most expensive) item will be delivered; to no avail. They are unprofessional, discourteous and work shire fopes... when/if I get the last item I ordered delivered, I will notify on here... wish me luck.

Rip offs - steer well clear

I wouldnt even give them this star.
I bought a mould from them, sure enough it arrived in a couple of days, but it was damaged, i rang them but the phone was engaged the whole time, lucky for me i returned the item with recorded delivery this was before Christmas i am still waiting for them to pick up the phone and to reply to my emails about my refund. So glad i paid with my credit card. i should have read these reviews before i spent my money with them. I will never buy from them again, they can not be trusted. Virgin is going to sort out getting the money from them.

Took a little longer than I expected, but my item arrived...

I received the item I ordered - which cost 70GBP - within eight days of my order. On the basis of experiences elsewhere, I expected it to arrive a bit sooner than that, but it did arrive - and de Cuisine was offering the product at 10GBP less than the next best available price, so overall I am pleased.

The tracking function provided could be improved, although once the item has been dispatched, you are provided with a reference number for the Parcelforce website so you can see where you item is in the post.

don't panic - not so bad

We ordered a trolley mid december (£300) and didnt really start worrying till after Christmas. However when we tried to ring it was always engaged so we looked up the company and found this website. We were then very worried because it is a lot of money, so I contacted the dorset trading standards and left the details. However as soon as i had talked to them I actually managed to talk to Mike at the company, so he does answer sometimes!
He promised to get in touch in the week with a delivery date. He seemed surprised that we had been told that we could track our order because apparently you cant - so this obviously needs sorting.
He did contact us and we now have the trolley which is good quality and just what we wanted. I know that the council contacted him, so I dont know if we would have got it so quickly without getting them involved. They did tell me that they are working closely with the company, that it does have problems but that he is not a con-man. So i hope that he manages to sort out the problems.

One start rating is too good for these fraudsters

What a pity that there is no facility to give nil star rating. How De Cuisine is still getting away with accepting orders, taking payment from our credit cards and then no sending out the goods. I have taken issue with Barclaycard about this compnay have have got now where. It is now twelve months since I tried to take issue with De Cuisine and like others on this site got absolutlely no where. They have taken my money and I believe had no intention of sending me my goods. Beware anybody who has any dealings with DC. They are fraudsters being supported by Barclaycard in my opinion. I sent to Barclaycard this web site address so that they could read for themselves what is going on. They just we're not interested, instead they wanted written evidence from DC that my goods had not been despatched. In your dreams Barclaycard!!!

Go else where!

I too have yet to receive goods that were paid by credit card in September when ordered. They have not replied to any of my emails, and now I find when I log on to orders, my order is no longer listed. I do wish I could give them a 0 rating, they are just a bunch of crooks

this company charged my credit card over 40 euro on 11th December for an item which I never received and they now say is unavailable. I contacted them eventually by telephone 10 days ago and they said they would organize a refund which they never did. I have contacted my bank today. How can this company get away with this. Eliz2

i'm keeping my fingers crossed

after ordering three items and recieving nothing i have just stumbled on this site...i can't believe they are getting away with this. after ringing the number on their website every minute for the last hour, someone actually answered..hooray! the man i spoke to seemed to know what was going on with my order and i was told the items will be posted to me today and will definately be here by the end of the week. i am not convinced so will have to wait and see. also, be warned..if you do manage to get through, i have a feeling the snow may be used as an excuse...

Don't buy anything from these people

I ordered a few items 6 months ago and payment was charged immediately from my credit card. After that I have not heard anything from these people.

Not all bad news...

I am surprised by this, but I have reason to give some positive feedback on this company. I ordered a corkscrew in October, and the money left my account the following day, but 6 weeks later I had received nothing. Emails and phonecalls achieved nothing, so after consulting the Trading Standards people (following advice from another contributor on this too-lately found website) I wrote to the company.
This did not prompt the demanded refund, but did expedite the arrival of the corkscrew - after I had replaced it elsewhere. I returned it and demanded my money back, with a further refund of the postage costs. I got it! I was amazed to received a cheque with an apology with little delay, so please hang on in there - someone at this company is trying to put right the mayhem.

1 star Huh! but really zero zero no stars for this company

They should be Awful company - ordered crockery items way back in May and they took my money but no goods arrived, even after recorded delivery letters with complaints and then legal threats. I have contacted Consumer Direct, although helpful, could not do anything but were gathering information about this company. I cannot believe they are still trading.

Fraud is the only word I can come up with

I place my order for two items on 4th Dec , 8 days later I received the cheaper of the two items, numerous emails later and not a single reply either to the emails or phone calls I'm still waiting.
I tried to explain it was part of a christmas gift and could they please let me know if I would be actually getting this item on time...... no response... money has been taken from my account, this is fraud, if they dont have stock they should'nt keep taking the orders and certainly shouldnt take money out of customers accounts......I,m bloody angry

Don'nt waste your time and money with rubbish outfit

I have not received either the goods or my money back. I placed an order for an Asparagus saucepan with them on the 9th Nov 09. They took the money straight away. I was then fobbed off with the excuse that they were temporaly out of stock.(more likely their supplier had suspended their account) I intend to start proceedings against them through the Small Claims Court procedure
I was able to obtain the goods from an alternative source and my purchase was received within two days

Mike who runs this company promised me he would reimburse my pensioner mother with the £28.98 he took offf her for an order she made for her som who is very ill. To date still no money order or communication from this fraudulent company - STEER CLEAR

These people are thieves!

I ordered £190 worth of goods in February 2009 for my baking business Easter baking. I recieved approx £20 worth of goods and have never received the remainder despite trying to contact them numerous times over the last 10 months. Even the VAT amount was wrong on my invoice which they promised to correct but did not. I had to buy Easter egg moulds and bundt pans from other sources. The few times I did get through on the phone ( I reckon they answer the phone about one in a hundred attempts) the guy was so convincing that I found myself feeling sorry for him and empathising with his difficulties! I believe he must be a sociopath as he was so convincing. Then I read these reviews! Whew, it's unbelievable that this level of fraud is allowed to happen in the UK.

Some people suggested that maybe it was only small orders that are not fulfilled - this is not so and they defraud the trade just like everyone else. I would like my money back but at this stage I'm much more interested in getting them shut down. It seems that the police, Trading Standards etc just help individuals get refunds but allow more and more people to fall into their web (no pun intended). I hate to think how many orders they are not fulfilling over the holidays. I wonder if the Serious Fraud Squad would be interested... I was going to try to contact some of the big suppliers but realized they probably have no suppliers as they don't send anything out!

And now they are selling cutesy gardening stuff to attract another segment of society. I'm on a mission!

FINALLY....SHUT THEM DOWN AND THROW THIS LOWLIFE INTO JAIL!!!

Thanks for looking into this. Payment for £16.95 was taken on 10 November no item has been received nor any communication at all.

I accept you tried to explain this by way of his supplier being late but this is not acceptable at all (from the owner, not you of course!). The fact is he clearly has no concern at all for customers as if his supplies were late he would and should have contacted us, apologised, and refunded given this delay not just kept our money and hoped we would just go away!



Funny how also he still has the time to make and send out updated emails with offers on a regular at least weekly basis- this is beyond insulting when he knows he has our money and we have sent emails to him he has not responded once to yet still actually has the audacity to send us these emails with offers- as if we would ever order from him again?. Its totally criminal and shambolic behaviour that I really hope will be investigated and this man given punishment for clearly attempting to rip so many people off!

Decuisine? Deviant!

this company is a disgrace, it is literally stealing people's money! I ordered a cocktail kit from them in august for a present, still haven't received it according to website tracking it is still being packed! wow, what sort of cocktail maker is this that it takes over 4 months to pack?! my guess is it doesn't bloody exist and neither do any of their other products. It's a disgrace that their website hasn't been shut down, if it were a real shop on the highstreet the police would have got involved. What they are doing is a criminal act, can't even imagine the amount of money they have conned people out off, makes my blood boil! my advice to anyone buying online is to go to shopsafe.co.uk first and type in the name of the company as this will show you all the legit websites. If they are dodgy they don't come up on this site and suprise suprise no sign of de cuisine! i resent having to even rate 1 star but it is the minimum you have to rate.

Fraud

I wish I had seen this website before I ordered from de Cuisine!! But unfortunatly I did not. I ordered something which was ment to be a birthday present, it did not arrive on time. I sent an e-mail telling them I was not happy, and wanted to cancel my ordere and get a refund. I then go an automated e-mail offering to cancel my order by clicking a link, which I did. This was in the end of October. Still waiting for my money back!
The phonenumber on their website is basically fake, it is not possible to get through on it.
What to do now? It is obvious that they are a fraud, and had no intention of ever sending me the product I paid for, or refunding me the money.
Will be taking this to Consumer Direct and other consumer watchdogs.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY - THEY'RE A COMPLETE AND UTTER CON

Decuisine is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I bought and paid for an egg poacher online in May and still have not received anything and it is now December. The money has been taken from my account and I have had no response from the email I have sent to them. I've tried calling them but there's a different excuse on the answerphone as to why there's no one there to take your call every day (which incidentally also doesn't give you the option of actually leaving a message). There are hundreds of other reviews on the web like mine so i hope for your sake that unlike me you get to see some of them before you place an order and get conned. Someone should shut them down and fast!!!

absolutely zero service - avoid this company like the plague

Ordered something which was to be part of a gift for someone on 27th June. Still not arrived despite countless e-mails . Not one response from the company and phone line constantly engaged enless on answering machine. Wish I had found trustpilot beforehand. After reading someone elses review I too have contacted Trading Standards about this company

Trading Standards

Ordered a product from this website early September, I was assured a two day delivery. The moment the money was taken from my account, I was notified by automated email that I would have to wait for one month. This meant that I completely missed the birthday the product was intended for. After one month I was sent another automated email, asking me to wait one more month or alternatively have a refund. After requesting a refund by email and by phone, I took the issue up with Trading Standards.

Info; For anyone who paid by Visa, you have 120 days to claim back the full amount directly through your bank, under Visa Fraud protection.

Trading Standards; Lovely people who dealt efficiently and quickly with my complaint, and launched the investigation. The following link will offer more information as to how to proceed.

Finally, the following is an email that I sent to DeCuisine, in the hope that it will motivate others to lodge a formal complaint.

Sir,

Please be advised that I have launched an investigation in to you with Trading Standards. I have now been waiting since the 8th of September to receive a product (*********) ordered from your site. After you failed to deliver, I asked for a refund. More than three times in fact, through your automated email system. The many calls I put through were also routinely ignored. On not receiving the refund or the product, I have put into procedure a full investigation; something you would have avoided if you had had the decency to respond to any one of my e-mails/ calls. My bank is also prepared to claim back the money on my behalf, so also be advised that the refund will be returned to me through this channel.

I will also be urging the many other dissatisfied customers that I have located on various web forums, who are in a similar position to me, to also lodge formal complaints with Trading Standards. Perhaps in the future, you may reconsider offering a service you have no intention of fulfilling.

I am amazed this company is still trading! Since my calls and emails have never been answered, I had assumed they had gone under. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I paid for an apple slicer in September and we are now in December and I have received nothing. £3o of mine stolen.....

Needs improving

Took me 4 weeks to get my goods. Found this website after 3 weeks and was understandably worried. However, after speaking to them on the number supplied by this website, (don't even bother with the number on their website) they were very helpful and called me back as promised. I think the guy must just be bombed out with work, although this is no excuse for the ''service'' experienced by previous reviewers. I will not be ordering again.

Their website should be closed down !!

Having, like many, been conned, ( thankfully a relatively small amount £17.95 ), for the life of me, I can't understand WHY / HOW they are still allowed to operate, and still allowed to display a website, that is clearly duping others, into trying to purchase from this company ??
In this day and age, with all the consumer protection that is available to the discerning public, how can this company be fraudulently trading for so long ??

Reading some of the reviews, ( oh, how I wish I'd found this site first, like many of you have stated !! ), this has been going on for over a year.

FOR PITIES SAKE......SOMEONE SHUT THE WEBSITE DOWN !!

Very bad!!!

I am one of the many who have been duped by this company. I ordered on 12th Nov and am still waiting for my goods, I don't hold out any hope!. No reply to e-mails, phone constantly engaged or else an answerphone message telling the caller not to leave a message!
I will tell anyone and everyone to avoid this site, I wouldn't want anyone else to fall for this scam!!

Honest review

I previously reveiwed this site back in November.....at this time like many, my money had been taken, but no goods (7x chef rings) or response to my emails, letter or numerous phonecalls.
I did finally receive my order, my calling the number on this website....i spoke to Mike Whealer on several occassions, he advised that is wasn't his fault but due to the fact that ''cooking shows are promoting the chefs rings, causing a rush of orders'' personally i do not think a company should complain when they are busy, but thats just me! Anyway after promises it would be with me by the Friday (4th December) and a few calls chasing it was finally with me by the following Tuesday (8th December)...i ordered them on 4th November!! Now Mike also informed me MOST of the reviews on this website were FAKE, when i quizzed him on the feedback, which i find VERY HARD TO BELIEVE considering my personally experience matches everyone elses.....And i can assure you my experience is 100% genuine............i have the e-mails etc to prove this.

I did tell Mike that maybe if he just improved communication things would be better I.E. actually telling people when items are out of stock, and actually responding to e-mails.

So yes i did get the goods i ordered but they took nearly 5 weeks to arrive and i had to chase ALOT to actually get them, to be honest if i hadn't have been so persistant i doubt i would have the chef rings.

My advice - If you have already ordered goods - DO NOT give up keep calling and e-mailing (ring the number on this website) till you get your goods or a refund.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I ordered from this company in December 2008 and to date have not received any goods or a refund despite numerous attempts to contact them. The phone is either engaged or goes straight to answerphone. Noy happy at all, wish I had found this website sooner. Zero stars for customer service.

A Sham

I it seems like everyone else appear to have been conned. Ordered my goods on 1/11/09. Money was taken from my account 3/11/09. No goods had been received, the status still showed as being packed. I request cancellation of this order on 8/11/09. I have had no response to any of my emails and I have tried phoning to no avail, always engaged. Like everyone else it appears I wish I had checked out the reviews of this company prior to placing my order and I wouldn't have touched them with a barge pole. Will be contacting Trading Standards asap. They should not be allowed to get away with this sort of treatment.

Today

I have experienced the same treatment as many others on here I was promised 48 HR delivery on october 25TH and never recieved my goods and phoned many times had a 15 minute conversation with the father describing his illnesses to me which made me feel guilty cancelling the order so I agreed to wait One extra week etc.
Guess what no goods so I have sent an agressive Email basically threatening them with action if I dont get my money forthwith which i followed up next morning with a phone call when I finally got through I was told that they had cancelled the order and his wife had written out the cheque to refund me that morning but he would phone me if she hadn't, so we will wait and see if I actually recieve it!!
I will keep you all informed I wish I had seen this site before I purchased from them

Maybe help is at hand

Appalling company. Am still waiting for goods ordered in July. Have contacted Consumer Direct (see other posts for details) who have passed my details onto Trading Standards. Today I received a questionnaire from Trading Standards which looks like they are now investigating this company. Let's hope that with all the complaints they have against deCuisine they can get them shut down and locked up for fraud!

Fraudsters - Do not buy from them

I ordered 30 days ago, only recieved part of the order and still waiting for the missing items. I have sent 5 e-mails chasing delivery with no reply. When I spoke to the owner (by using ring back as the line is always engaged) he was very nice and promissed to call me back with a new delivery date - never heard from him again. I have asked for a refund twice by e-mail no money has been refunded. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, IF YOU ARE OWED MONEY REPORT TO TRADING STANDARDS. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY

Fed up - no cancellation - no refund

Placed order 26th October 2009, site advised gds to be delivered in 2 working days. Chased on 29th, not despatched as out of stock and didn't know when item would be available.
Requested order be cancelled and account credited, which was agreed by a very nice gentleman (or so I thought)
Ordered exactly the same item from Amazon 29th October, (on the basis that my account would have been credited by de Cuisine as promised) goods delivered the next day.
Email received from de Cuisine 17th November 2009 advising goods despatched.
This means that my account has not been credited and that 2 amounts have gone from my account needlessly.
I have emailed 4 times yesterday and today, 17th/18th November, no reply.
I have the telephone number on constant call back, always engaged.
How does this organisation keep getting away with this appalling service?
How many more people are going to experience this attitude before the company is closed?
Surely ther has to be someone somewhere who can stop this?
I am only sorry that I didn't find this info before I found de Cuisine.

No Delivery - No Refund

Same as just about everybody else. Ordered replacement saute pan lid at beginning of October. They took the money immediately but failed to supply the item. Telephone line permanently busy but by continually redialling eventually got an answer and was advised that item would be delivered week commencing 28/10. Failed to arrive, unable to get through on phone in spite of redialling and no response to online requests to contact me. Cancelled order online at beginning of November and expected automatic refund. Didn't happen of course. Still couldn't get through on phone and no response to email or written letter. On advice from Consumer Direct will now send refund request by recorded delivery using all the right words. Don't expect an immediate response but will not give up on this without a fight. I do not like being ripped off!

How do you contact them?

I am interested to know how Miss D McLean (Brilliant Service 13 Nov 09) contacted them to sort out her problem. I have been trying to contact them (via phone/ email / letters) in order to get my money back for 6 months without success. Maybe Miss D Mclean would be kind enough to contact them on my behalf as no one else seems to know how. Or could it be that review is a sham?

Order placed 29th Oct 09 now 15th Nov 09 .....no goods no reply to Email no way can you get through on the telephone, money taken from account day following placing the order. Wish we had seen this site before ordering. Reported them to police who are checking them out as we speak and shall be contacting Dorset Trading Standards tomorrow morning. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!!

Do not order from this company

I have had ther same experience as everyone else with this company. I ordered products on the 24th August and asked for a refund on the 8th Septmeber. I got through to them on the phone and Mike assured me it would be processed the next day...I am still waiting! I phoned Consumer Direct this morning and lodged a complaint. I have been told to send a recodered delivery letter to decuisine informing them they have 10 final days or legal proceeding will start. I would recommend everyone contacts Consumer Direct because the more complaints they get the more likely they are to shut this company down.

Brilliant Service

I didn't read these reviews prior to shopping with De Cuisine, and to be honest with you I'm pleased that I didn't, as I wouldn't have shopped with them otherwise.
I am impressed with this company. There was a little mistake with the delivery of my order (a snail garden ornament came to my house, instead of a snail watering can, but the issue was sorted out within a matter of days.) I have used on line shopping for years and understand that mistakes regarding deliveries happen, but De Cuisine sorted it out as quickly as any other internet shop (if not faster.) I really don't know why there are so many bad reviews, but my experience of this company is a good one. In my opinion, if all the reviews were accurate, then Trading Standards would have shut it down by now. As De Cuisine is still open, I will continue shopping with them thank you very much.

stay away from these crooks

I have had pretty much the same experience with this company as everyone, they take your money and don't send you anything.. I spent £89.00 with them and my credit card company are in the process of trying to get it back for me. I have also emailed watchdog to see if they can do anything about them. Complete crooks, I hope people look at these comments before buying from DE CUISINE but unfortunately we only realise after, like me I started to get suspicious when my goods didn't arrive, it was only then I started to do some research and find this site.

DON'T ORDER FROM THEM !

I ordered a replace valve for a coffee machine (approx £10) back in the summer (2009). My money was taken the next day, but I'm still waiting for the goods! Their telephone is permanently engaged, and I have emailed on numerous occassions but I have not received a response. I keep returning their "junk emails" too asking for a refund and to be taken off their marketing list..... and I'm still receiving them. Argh!

Persist with these fraudsters

Do not give up.

After 5 months of hassle I have eventually received a refund.

Do not accept Dorset Trading Standards fobbing you off on Consumer Direct, they are in contact with the owner and I suspect have other contact details for him that we mere mortals do not.

Ordered 15 October. No goods, no reply to email and phone permanently engaged. Paid £4.95 for 48 hr delivery - that's a laugh. Spoke to trading Standards guy listed on site - very helpful. I suggested to him that if de cuisine can't sort their business out then trading standards should aproach their credit card processor and get them to remove the facility.

Similar story; we ordered, they charged credit card & no delivery. Sent number of emails and registered letters & no reply. No chance to phone as phone off hook or ansaphne. We have contacted credit card bank, trading standard and consumer direct writing a number of letters, emails and spent hours on the phone to try and get our money back. If we had let them keep our money it may have been cheaper when you take the time spent into consideration. With a threat of legal action & help from Dorset Trading standard we received a refund. If you a victim then tell your credit card bank as they may get your money back/ and Dorset trading standards (Tim Evans on 01305 224 012) . If you haven’t ordered then be wise and don’t.

Appalling - these people are crooks. But happy ending

Ordered goods on 14 September. Heard nothing for weeks. Checked websiste which said goods were in warehouse being processed. Tried to telephone, no answer. Also no answer to e-mails.
Found this site, and as a result of advice contacted consumer direct and my credit card company, and e-mailed de-cuisine asking for money back and threatening legal action.
Received automated e-mails from them (same every day) but no response to my replies (asking for my money back).
However today (more than six weeks after placing the order) finally received my goods.
Suggest it is worth persisting and pressure from credit card company and trading standards may work in the long run.
But don't order anything else from them!

The website should be suspended!

This retailer is quite simply a farse! I'd be surprised if the warehouse even existed. My advice is stay away and don't waste your time calling.

They don't send orders, they quite simply take your money and run. They'll fob you off until you are sick to the back teeth. Mike is a waste of space.

Don't touch with a barge pole!!!

I can only agree with all the other reviews here. I've had the same experience, goods did not arrive, e-mails have not been answered and the phone line is constantly engaged. I have reported De Cuisine to www.consumerdirect.gov.uk and urge all the other reviewers here to do the same. My complaint will now be passed to the relevent trading standards office and it is only by lots of people complaining that action will be taken against De Cuisine.

A SCAM

As others have said, I wish that I had seen this site before ordering. This is the first really bad experience of on-line ordering for me.
As others, I placed an order and paid for it, but the have not goods arrived - and I needed them for a deadline.
As I paid by credit card I shall go through the process of informing the credit card company of the dispute, but it will take a long time to get my money back.
In addition have made a complaint to Consumer Direct (I was referred there by Trading Standards) on 08454 040506 and recommend others to do the same. They suggested to me a form of words for a letter to be sent by recorded delivery. The complaints are logged, so the more people who complain to them, the more likely it is that action will be taken.

APPAULING - HOW CAN THEY CARRY ON TRADING??

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Money taken from my account the day the order was placed, 3 emails chasing and 2 weeks later the order arrived but is damaged. A further 3 emails sent trying to return the product and not one response.

Caught by a website thief

I ordered a set of mini-bread tins on 07/10/2009. Looks as if I will lose my money;fortunately only £16.35. But the real annoyance is that the company is getting away with it. Must be raking in a tidy sum in total. It seems the cheek of such companies is only matched by the apathy of the authorities in not forcing them out of business; particularly as it is in the UK.
The frightening thing is, the website and order acknowledgement is presented so professionally, therefore unwary "customers" will continue to fall prey to the thieves.
It's a pity that genuine companies such as Jean-Patrique or Lakeland, whose website formats closely resemble deCuisisne, don't/can't take some action, if only to protect their own businesses from losing trust.
My recorded delivery letter to deCuisine at Spion House, advised by Trading standards, was signed for on 15/10/2009. Illegible scribble, of course.
I had a look at the birds eye view on Live Search. No sign of a warehouse on Rushall Lane, but some very grand houses. Have been in touch with my bank's fraud dept; and sending them details. It isn't the money any more; it is the principle.
I will be in Hampshire end of next week; not too far for a knock on the door to ask for my money back. Seriously considering it. Wonder if local bobby would accompany me?

not even worth a rating

I ordered an oyster knife on this website on the 24th sept, didnt even recieve a confirmation until a week later and now on the 12th october still havent recieved anything, despite sending an emaiol to ask for refund because I dont need the product anymore.
very reluctant to even give one star for this seller as it is a downright scam and it should be taken off the web. hope people will read this before buying and go somewhere else

Terrible! Missing goods and no customer service.

Wish had seen this site a month ago! Same story for me as many of the reviews. Ordered 2 items, received one and now totally impossible to get response via email regarding missing item and no phone message facility. Completely appalling customer service. Have made one last ditch attempt to contact them and having read these reviews will be seeking refund via credit card company shortly I expect! In my experience would advise against using this company if you want the goods you paid for without.

Dont bother to order from this this site as you will not get what you pay for, i dont know how the trading standards have not caught this theif.I have not recieved all of my order wich i placed four months ago i have phoned and emailed and have never had a reply i got part of my order but never recieved the rest.I phoned the trading standards for the pool district but no one ever got back to me so whatever you do DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM DECUISNE you might as well throw your money in the rubbish bin ps one day i will be paying decuisne a visit.

Minus Fives Stars

De Quisine are MINUS five-star scammers - akin to the worst of 1980s time-share salesmen, and for all I know, they may well be ex-time-share salesmen, as this particular species of low-life all seem to have undergone a successful conscience removal procedure. Now that so many of them have been chased off the Spanish costas, a few will undoubtedly have slipped conveniently back into the UK and a couple of them now appear to be running pseudo businesses with a legit looking web presence. Two such bums now appear to be running De Quisine in Dorsetshire, England. If they suck you in, you'll quickly and innocently part with your money and possibly even receive a portion of your online order (if you are lucky) leaving them with a much greater profit, smirkingly confident that neither you nor the UK law will be able to touch them. If you are fortunate enough to make contact with the brothers grim by telephone, you'll be plausibly informed, as we were, that the outstanding items are currently out of stock. This is a complete lie, sorry, fabrication, because they will never send you the balance of your paid order. If however (like we did) you then go to somewhere like Amazon.co.uk you'll almost certainly receive said items the next day, proving that De Qusine's excuses about stock non-availability are, yes, a complete and inveterate lie. Avoid De Quisine like the plague. If Bristish law was good for anything they'd now be languishing in HMP Horfield, but filing reports with Trading Standards and Consumer Direct and Dorset Constabulary et al is about as useful as asking Gordon Brown to hold a referendum on the EU! I could be more direct about it all but this will have to do for now, in the vain hope that it may reduce the number of good people who are about to be ripped off by the brothers grim.

Thieves!

How I wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered from deCuisine. Same story as everyone else, except that the amount they have apparently stolen from me is close to 100 pounds. I have tried emailing them, calling them, to no avail. I will call consumer direct and trading standards as suggested in the other posts and hope that I can get my money back. I am based in Spain and so dealing with UK based contacts just adds to my issues, I will certainly be more careful about who I order things from online in the future!

Absolutely Terribel

I have had the same experience as most other people. I am waiting for 2 orders with quite a few items in them. I have had one thing from the 1st order and nothing else since. I placed my 2nd order (I wish I had seen this website first!) two weeks ago and order tracking is saying that it is waiting to be packed by the warehouse. I have had one email reply, stating that the goods would be with me soon, but nothing has turned up. I am going to report them trading standards as they have over £80 of my money.

Irresponsible & dishonest

Agree with others who have had a bad experience of this company. No reply to emails and phone always "engaged". Have requested refund of my money via my credit card company who will attempt to retrieve it from de Cuisine,
who should really be investigated by the police.

Update on earlier review 22.9.09

I finally received two of the three items that I had originally ordered on 31.8.09,these arrived on 9.10.09 with the promise of the third item a week later. Sorry to say that this outstanding item is still awaited. Its ironic that the item that was more needed is the item that is still outstanding. I cannot use the received items without the third as they go togeher. Dont suppose i will see this item before Christmas if ever.......postal strikes dont help either.

rating - Zero out of five

I have had exactly the same experience as all the people listed below. I requested to cancel my order as they actually called me to say it would not get to me in time for my function, they ignored this, sent part of my order, ignored all my emails and their phone is constantly engaged and I have paid for more items than I have received. It is completely shocking. Like so many people here, I too wish I had discovered this site before placing an order.

Items never turned up and all of my emails were ignored. Luckily I used my credit card so hopefully I'll be able to get my money back through the bank but I just wish that I'd come across Trustpilot before ordering.

Why does OFT exist?

Placed my order on 3rd March 2009. After many calls and emails received part order on 16th May. Six months later the balance of the order is still outstanding. (Sept 2009). I've emailed Dorset OFT and had no response. When I phoned them I was told to phone an "advice line".

I have had a similar experience to those listed in the reviews. This company is shocking. They take your money immediately, then do not supply the goods, their phone line is permanently engaged, and they do not respond to emails which you are encouraged to send to a central email address. I also which I had seen this website before using them, and I would recommend that you do not use this Company under any circumstances.

An update

Hi,
i recently wrote about my experiences with decuisine, same as everyone else, i got ripped off. I'm currently claiming my money back through the courts, www.moneyclaim.gov.uk, cost me £25. I will let you all know if this works. Am trying my hardest to get watchdog involved, if more of us continuely bombard watchdog, we might get a result!!
One thing that did make me smile was, on checking on decuisines site this morning, it states that 'DELIVERIES WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE ROYAL MAIL STRIKE !!' LOL!

Why are they still allowed to trade?

I to have been ripped off by these fraudsters - why are Trading Standards letting them get away with this?

After a visit from trading standards they issued a refund - the same day i was about to issue small claims proceedings. I have informed the BBC's Watchdog programme via their website, hopefully if enough people do that the public will be warned.

Mike from de cuisine has told me that in the next few days there will be several 'positive' reviews on here about his company. Guess we all know who'll be writing them.

WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH (IF THEY ACTUALLY EXIST)

Tried to contact numerous times via e-mail and phone. No response. Have checked out their details via postcode and it seems they have two locations, neither of which I can get in touch with. I am feeling I have been scammed and if I have not heard anything in the next couple of days I will be contacting Trading Standards. Steer well clear of this company if you want a good service.

Resolved with help from Trading Standards

I have had exactly the same problems as many others with this firm but have eventually got my money back by sending copies of all my correspondence with the company to Mr Tim Evans of Dorset Trading Standards. His full address has been given by a previous correspondent on this site. I sent all the paperwork that I had prepared for a County Court case and asked Mr Evans if there was anything he could do before I went ahead with Court action.

He was extremely helpful and sorted the matter out for me with the result that at long last I have received my refund of £32.45

Like other people I have found this experience both frustrating and upsetting and just hope that the company can either get sorted out or cease trading and deal with its current customers' problems.

KEEP PERSERVERING FOLKS!!!!!

i ordered a wok from de cuisine and long story short as most of you did had money deducted. but after a month no goods. i contacted tim evans at dorchester trading standards on (01305) or (01202) 224012. BRILLIANT!!! tim contacted de cuisine on my behalf. 10 mins after de cuisine phoned me apologised for delay and promised to refund my money in full by cheque the next day. next morning a cheque arrived in the post for full amount. cheque so far has not bounced!!!! MANY THANKS TO TIM EVANS AT TRADING STANDARDS give him a call and GOOD LUCK!!!

Cowboys

I ordered 3 items from DeCuisine and the money left my account that day. I needed the items quickly for a function as I had a high profile company doing a PR stunt for my wedding and they needed to practice the baking.
I waited over a week and requested they contact me as I needed the items quickly. After a few days of no response I contacted them again to cancel the order as the deadline had passed. Another few days of no contact and I requested again they confirm my cancellation and offer a full refund.
I tried calling but the number provided was always engaged and only open 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday.
Another few days later and I got an email to say my order had been dispatched. This annoyed me as they had ignored my requests but thought if the items came quickly enough I may be able to persuade the afore mentioned company to go ahead with the promotion on a shorter timescale.
The items arrived with no packing slip and 1 item was missing. I checked the website which said returns would require filling in an online form. The link then took me to the email address which previously they had ignored.
I requested they call me or at least contact me but nothing I sent another email (8 all inclusive) and no contact. The only email I have had is promoting another product. I have no way to return my goods and have paid for 3 items and received 2, they have ignored all requests to contact me. I did some digging and found others with the same experience on this site and other sites. I am know seeking legal advice.

Absolute Theives

I cannot believe that they can get away with it.....all these people who have been conned....it is daylight robbery. My experience is obviously standard...I placed an order worth £32 which never arrived, I emailed, I phoned, I finally cancelled and still had no response... and yet my credit card was debeted the day after the order was made
something should be done ......

Thief!

I ordered goods in February, recieved half in June, still waiting for other half! Money taken immediately from account. Despite telephoning ad nausium, several letters, one threatening legal action, I never got a response from anything. He still owes me at least £20. I'm absolutely disgusted that he's still allowed to advertise, and with such a plausible website. DO NOT TOUCH THIS SITE WITH THE LONGEST BARGE POLE YOU COULD IMAGINE, HE'S NOTHING BUT A THIEF. Perhaps a letter to BBC Watchdog would close him down if all else has failed? Doug, could you go knock his door again and get my £20 back? It may not be much to him, but it is to me!!

Useless avoid at all costs

Order placed 18 June, money taken from account, still no delivery 24 August. telephone contact impossible, order tracking a complete sham, written comminucation ignored. This was an order taken from a 76 year old pensioner for agift for her son. The world is full of bandits and this company is certainly one of those.

Con artist

I ordered goods, nothing arrived, emails get no reply and the phone is always engaged. Money taken immediately - same as other folk have experienced. I will be writing to watchdog and trading standards. I am also talking to consumer direct. I have been burned but will do all I can to make what this company is up to known.

Continued RUBBISH service

I am in a similar position to everyone below. I ordered a cake tin last week. Total cost of the order was just under £10. Apparently the tin was in stock, I haven't seen it yet and have serious doubts I will.

I have emailed and telephoned. No reply to the email yet and I keep getting the engaged tone on the phone.

Thanks for all of the trade standards information I will be following this up. I can't believe this company is under the impression it can just steal from people.
