DigitalDirect.co.uk is ripping off people, STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
I have bought a 50" plasma TV around one and half years ago with THREE years extended warranty and now that I have problem with the TV they replied to my email as follows:
“You need to contact LG customer service on 08448 475454 since the company who you bought the TV from and hence the extended warranty no longer exists having gone into receivership last June. Elitemark the company I work for bought the name Digital Direct and its web site from the receiver but does not have any responsibility for the extended warranties. Since the company you purchased the TV from does not exist you will have to order and pay for your own repair/replacement, either via LG or another company.”
CONCLUSION: 1- If they are giving good customer service it because to get more sales and then go bankrupt. 2- The new company might go into receivership too.
I ordered a new TV from this company, asked the salesman (Michael) some very technical questions which he answered very competantly and honestly. The TV arrived exactly when he said it would. I even found the delivery driver very helpful and polite. Would definately reccomend this company (no matter what people moan on about the owners)
On May 4th 2010 order was placed with Digital Direct for a 46” Panasonic Plasma TV. It was listed as being “in stock”. Delivery to be within 7 working days but may extend to 10 working days in busy periods from order date.
On May 5th Payment of £1099.00 was taken from our account
14th May no TV or email advising of delayed delivery. Phoned VBA Logistics (information given as contact re deliveries). I was informed to contact Digital Direct as they had no delivery details for this order. Advised by DD that they were waiting for the stand.
21st May Rang again – still waiting for stand.
27th May – Rang again – still waiting for stand – advised we would be away and would check on our return re progress.
7th June Rang again – no answer – tried all day and rang operator who advised this company had digital phones and that there was no problems with the line. The “Chat Live” was down on the website as well.
8th June Rang again – tried all day again still no answer on any number and the “Chat Live” was still down. In the end – sent an email. Actually got a response to say that “they were experiencing technical problems with their system – no phones for 2-3 days.
9th June Rang again – spoke to Michael who couldn’t fill order for another 3to 4 weeks so I asked for a full refund and gave my card details. He said it would be in my bank within 2-3 days.
12th June – no refund so spoke to Michael again who confirmed he had made the refund and to give it another day or two.
14th June – Full refund appeared on my bank statement.
24th June – Received letter from Begbies Traynor advising that VBA Ltd trading as Digital Direct, Future House, Express Trading Estate, Stonehill Road, Farnworth, Bolton BL4 9TP 01204 797695, had gone into Administration.
The letter also states that “VBA Ltd has been purchased by Elitemark Limited”. The Directors of VBA Ltd who are 50% shareholders also own 50% of Elitemark Limited!!
Worst retailer I have ever come across. Ordered a TV because it was cheaper than anywhere else. BIG MISTAKE. Has been 6 weeks and it still hasn't arrived. I have called every week and got the same response "We will send you an email in the next few days confirming your delivery date". Even worse, they dare to charge £50 for "delivery" and told me that if I wanted to cancel and get a refund, the delivery charge would not be refunded! Please everyone, save yourself the hassle and get your TV from somewhere reputable, the tenner or so which you might save is simply not worth it.
