In short, I had to return item to DigitalRev. The customer service advisor (Sam) I spoke to via email was very helpful and sympathetic.
When the item arrived back in Hong Kong, they refunded me the total cost and then sent it to Canon for inspection and repair. Canon's inspection said it wasn't faulty, but Sam still offered to speak to management to see if they could cover some of the postage cost. Whilst the situation didn't go as planned leaving me a little frustrated (Canon saying there was nothing wrong with the camera) this was not DigitalRev's fault and they were very sympathetic.
If the item had arrived without the issue, which was not DigitalRev's fault, then the service was second to none - 2 days from Hong Kong to the UK is amazing and their prices are very competitive!
