Keep away

They take your money, make promises of stock coming in ,6 weeks later no stock and guess what your refund even takes days.
Asked do you need my card details for refund answer no, 2 days later e message please phone we need your card details.
On giving card details refund instant ! No.
Why can't give a electronic transfer instant everyone else does.
They trade on other people's money in my case almost £600 pound for almost 6 weeks.
Won't ever use again

Good communication but item out of stock

I bought an item which was displayed as being in stock. It was only 2 days later when I tried checking the status of my order that I found my order was "Awaiting Stock". It was awaiting stock for a week before finally being posted.
I did get prompt answers from their customer service, but if I knew the item was out of stock I'd have ordered it from elsewhere rather than wait nearly 2 weeks for it.
The only other negative is that they use parcelforce to deliver items. I've had nothing but trouble from them, like today, where my item actually hasn't been delivered, so i'll have to go and pick it up from the depot.

The best prices, selection and customer service

This is my second purchase from Laptops Direct and all I can say, AGAIN is amazing service. I called and spoke to a member of staff as I was confused with which laptop to decide from, the help I received was fantastic. I had a few choices in mind ranging in price and the honesty from the sales staff told me to go for the mid range for what I wanted! The best prices, selection and customer service - I always recommend Laptops Direct to my family and friends. Well done again from a very happy customer AGAIN!

would not touch them again, cant supply what you order

I truly believe that they had no intention of supplying the tv ordered. I ordered mine on Xmas eve, received emails confirming order straight away. Withing a few hours I had received another email, this one stating there was no stock at their suppliers and to hold on as their expert team would be in touch.

After waiting for a call on the Thursday, nothing. I Had to send an "emessage" to them before i got a call back... They tried to offer me an LG 620T for £709, when it was, at the time, in Currys for 650.

Something I did find interesting is that the guy stated that their suppliers were closed Xmas eve... erm, hold on a minute, how come I've got an email stating no stock at their suppliers then, the same day as accepting my order!?

Its now going to take 7 - 10 days to process the refund (thats a long time over the festive seaon)... So I believe they take peoples money knowing that were not able to supply anything, with the hope that people would just accept anything else they were on the phone afterwards. Terrible company, and terrible customer service, would never use again, am even considering a mention on their trading practices to Trading Standards

SHOCKING YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, DONT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS

ITS A SHAME YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM A STAR, SHOULD BE MINUS STARS

i placed a order with them after seeing on their website a good deal, it says it was in stock, paid everything up, comes about 2/3 days later still not noticed i had not received a confirmation email, money had gone out of my account, spoke with customer services about receiving no emails etc, hold my breath waiting for the refund, this company is complete pants, if want my advice, dont always go for the cheapest price, steer well away from directTVs, it will end in tears ps. i would have been waiting in all day today waiting for delivery as stated, if i would not have phoned them, they had said they had phoned me but not received any calls, as of 1340hrs not received a confirmation of cancellation given i phoned them at 0930 hours. i think kirklees trading stadards and CAB are going to be informed regarding this company

Directtvs

I would not

Bought a TV from here 3 weeks ago,
problem started with delivery I asked for 24 hours and they booked it as 48 hours, they did refund but hey!!
TV had a sound fault with in the first day so followed there web site and called LG, they heard the fault and gave me the call reference to speak with direct TV's which I did, they took the TV back and put it on test, after a week of no contact I started to chase this up ** by the way they had not contacted LG despite having all the details they only did this 2 weeks after the return and as luck would have it the call was recorded and they could hear the fault!!!. After 4 days of emails as I was on holiday they then agreed to a refund as they had no TV's in stock. Only 1 person took the time to Help!! Thanks (Brian) Honestly my experience is bad and may be a 1 off who knows... Buyer beware!!!!!! and if you do buy as they say 1 million happy customers can't be wrong or can they!!... I have now paid more for the same TV from your local high street retailer...Thanks Currys

Totaly Amazed

I found directtvs to polite extremely helpful, I already knew which tv i wanted to buy before i searched the internet to compare price and i must say directtvs where 41% cheaper than anywhere else on the price of my Tv which is a 42 inch Panasonic Full HD 3D Plasma TV TX-P42UT50B. I arranged payment for the Tv late Friday afternoon and was given Monday as my expected delivery date. I received emails confirming my purchase and the further emails confirming my delivery details and then to my absolute surprise i had an email Saturday morning from the Yodel the carriers saying that my parcel was out for delivery today. I can not fault directtvs at any stage of the process they kept me informed at every stage even up until i had the goods in my possession I would highly recommend them to friends and family

Directtvs

Are negative stars possible ...?

Direct TV is in constant battles with the networks therefore you never know what channels are going to be there or not be there. We lost ABC for over a MONTH! Then getting it back for less than a week, we have now lost Comedy Central, MTV, NIck, Spike, and 25 other channels. If you enjoy watching your series -- DON'T DO DIRECTTV!! You will miss out on them at point or another. I PROMISE!!! We cannot wait until our contract is up. NEVER AGAIN will we make this mistake!

Directtvs

They Lie and don't deliver what they promice

We went to this company and bought two TV's 50" and a 42" LG Plasma's
the service was shocking it literaly felt like I had to sepperate the TV from the unshaved 'sales man' with a debit card. I luckilly researched the TV's online before I went so I was ready to buy but it was shocking. The TV's were even £5 cheaper down the road at PC World but I opted for the nice local company with the shiny showroom. We Paid, one was in stock one wasn't and it was so so at this point.

******* THE MISTAKE FOLLOWED ********

My partner looked online at their sister/same/differently named company direct appliances and we opted for an Indesit Fridge freezer and a matching Indesit washing machine. All brand new and under £500 Bargain so we jumped in the car and headed back to the store with my crowbar/debit card hopeful they would help us.

We paid up £485 that day on the promise the Fridge Freezer would be there in 2 weeks. A long time but we did at this point accept and agree to the wait due to the price. Well Monday the 2nd arrives and we decide to pick up the fridge the very following Friday..... But wait the fridge has come and gone and been sold to someone else leaving us with a wait of a further 2 weeks!!! This is where the magic really happens! I demand a refund and the customer service was nothing short of a disgrace.

1. Refund me I requested.
2. OK I will ring you back in 10
3. After 30 mins, I rang them and the guy had gone on lunch
4. We eventually track someone else down to deal with the refund
5. All done and refunded sir, that will be 3 days back on the card
6. 3 Days later I ring up still no refund and I am told it now takes 10.
7. I now realise they even have separate 'press 3 to chase a refund' phone system so am not the only one.

I know i rant on but I just had to have my say on this company as is took me back the way they trade and I have been majorly disappointed by them, I don't complain often I just really would like people to think twice about using them. they don't have the items, they just retail for larger brands. they are a horrible middle man and the second you have a problem it's as if they glance at their balance sheet to see if they have your money before commenting.

TIP, PC WORLD IS GENERALLY CHEAPER, TESCOS HAD OUR TV's £15 LESS AND DELIVER FREE

Amazing!

I ordered a Samsung TV through finance which was cheaper here than it was anywhere else. I chose standard delivery (3-4 working days). I sent the finance contracts off and the very next day I received the TV and other accessories. Very pleased with the speedy service of this company! Keep it up!

Clueless

Went out of my way today to visit this lots showroom. Was looking for a 37 or 40" TV for the bedroom. Half the display models in the showroom had no price on them and most of the descriptions were limited to the model number!

Saw a Sony that looked to fit the bill so asked the 'salesman' for a price to be told its not in stock? Told him what I wanted and he tried to sell me a 42" Panasonic which was too big so asked about the Sony again, same reply 'not in stock but the one next to it is and its £489'.

Was prepared to wait until a model is restocked but if they can't be arsed then neither can I. So I'll stick with Comet and Curry's where I can see what I'm buying before I discuss it with a sales assistant.

DirectTv - a company that listens to their customers.

The product was the best price in the market and was delivered within 24 hrs of ordering. We had to contact customer service for advice and they were brilliant. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future.

Simply Faultless

I ordered 2 Panasonic TVs from Direct TVs that were to be delivered to 2 separate locations. The staff were easy to deal with, knowledgeable and handled my order quickly and efficiently. Although I did not pay for next day delivery, both TVs were delivered the following day - given that one was delivered to Northern Ireland, this was simply remarkable. A faultless purchase and I would recommend this company to anyone.

Finally, a word of thanks to Yodel - easy to track exact location of delivery with clear, unambiguous messages.

Great Customer Service, Bad Delivery Company

I ordered my new Toshiba 40TL868B 40in 3D Full-HD 1080p from Directtvs on Friday night for Saturday Delivery. I ran into a few problems with the delivery company which was 'Yodel' as a confusion was occurred which caused me to travel 30 minutes out of town and back for no reason. Apart from that the television came in all the wraps and seals required and works perfectly fine.

Due to the delivery of the item and a few problems occurred through the day the company is great.

Problems ran into;
-TV signed for at 7am by someone
-Thought it was stolen or delivered to someone else house
-Was transferred between DirectTvs and Yodel all day
-Told by Yodel the it was signed by the manager as my local one was shutting down and moving to Goole and was told they was open.
-Got to Goole after putting £10 petrol in and it was shut.
-Half way back at about 5:30 I was rang up being told they were trying to deliver it but no one was in, even though my mother was in.
-Got back into town and visited my local Yodel and signed and took the television.

Therefore I paid £16 for delivery and an extra £10 to track the television down as no one knew exactly where it was.

They could of at least informed me when I rang yodel in the morning that the manager was the one who signed for it so confusion was risen.

Therefore this is the reason when I'm giving them a 4/5 instead of 5/5.

Get a better delivery company like, Citylinks or Parcelforce!

Great customer service, fast hassle free delivery

We found Direct TVs by chance & pleased we did, very quick & easy to place the order, saved £130 & best of all they delivered when they said they would.
We were kept well informed of the order/delivery status & the delivery guys were very helpful & friendly.
TV is great, no problems. Direct TVs set it up for us with their pre-delivery inspection so all we had to do was plug in & go.
Will definitely use again.
Thank you.

My Advice - DO NOT deal with this company

This company gave me the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. The diary of events went as follows:

Monday 12/12/11 Ordered TV from the J28 showroom, paid by debit card
Tuesday 13/12/11 Money taken from my account (1 DAY)
Wednesday 14/1211 Collected TV from J28 Warehose
Thursday 15/12/11 Returned TV to J28 Warehouse - Sound faulty
Tuesday 20/12/11 Agreed refund as no direct replacement available
Friday 06/01/12 Money refunded to my account (22 DAYS from returning the faulty TV!!!!)
During this fiasco I rang the customer services team 8 times, on a 0871 number of course, at a cost of over £5, they never rang me.
Buyer Beware!!!!!

I bought many items from direct tv's

A huge thank you first of all to the great people within the business. My items were very competitively priced, the deliveries and the crews were first class, the text confirmation of delivery dates and times, brilliant and everything on time :)

I will be making more purchases in the very near future.

Thank you... Tom

Buyers beware

I've used direct tv on a number of occasions, always collecting from the showroom, without a problem. Until now! Bought a Panasonic tv as a Christmas gift for my partner, unfortunately I bought the wrong colour (she wanted white) Returned the tv hoping to exchange but was told by sales that they were unable to source one, i therefore asked for a refund. I was told that there would be a 15% charge of the total price amounting to approx.£55 as I'd broken their golden rule of opening the box! I declined this generous offer. Yes folks removing a strip of sellotape when opening a Christmas present can seriously damage your wallet. Direct tv's customer services manager stated that because the box was opened, they can no longer sell the goods on as new (not that she had the courtesy to speak to me directly, one of her rather arrogant minions acted as go between) The fact that at point of purchase the salesman insisted on opening the box to check the contents, which by their logic rendered the tv a second hand item, seems to have escaped them. I would suggest that the anonymous customer service manager has her job title changed omitting the words customer, service and manager. She has managed at a stroke to alienate a customer, who has been running their own business for thirty years, based on quality and customer satisfaction, something I doubt very much direct tv's will achieve. Judging by the other complaints on this forum, it would appear that I've escaped lightly, at least I have something to show for my cash, even though it's not what i wanted. In summary Mr Direct tv you've managed, to lose all future revenue from ourselves, all for the lack of a bit of goodwill. Never again!

Ridiculous customer service

if only i have found this site earlier and read the reviews, i would have saved myself so much time, trouble and money.

Bought a Sony 40 inch 3D tv with the 3D bundle on 4th Nov. Was notified that it will reach on the 7th Nov. What a load a crap that was. The TV arrived a week more than that and by i-can't-believe-it's-still-in-operation dastard company named Yodel@HDNL. The 3D glasses, unfortunately did not arrive with it.

I initially gave Direct Tvs the benefit of doubt.Yodel is after all a crap company waiting for final axe sometime in the future. I had the initial apology and the promise of a follow up.

The 4 weeks between the date of purchase and the arrival of the glasses really made me question the integrity of the customer service.

The emessages took quite a while to return with a reply. Calling a few times a week for the 4 weeks would have cost a fair bit. But most annoying is how inconsistent the follow up was. None of the promised call back happened. And i got different stories whenever i called them . I was told they were waiting for a reply from Yodel, then i was told it was reported as lost, subsequently it was referred to a highest level, then i was it was reported to a level higher than the highest level (amusing isn't it?), then i was told it WAS NOT CONFIRMED YET TO BE LOST - AFTER 4 FREAKING WEEKS.

During my final phone call to direct tvs, i basically refused to hang up unless i got a final reply. The lady on the phone eventually linked me to another person who then asked me if i wanted a refund or a replacement in the most blunt, non-apologetic manner.

What dumbfounded me was that a replacement was never offered during the 4 weeks, it was only offered after i basically protested on the phone, and it was given in a most condescending manner.

Given that a previous customer with a transaction of about 2000 pounds got terrible service, maybe i should hushed about my own purchase, that is just close to 1000 pounds.

I have received better customer service from companies selling corkscrew that cost less than 10 pounds.

Will be getting a sound system soon. Guess where i am NOT going to shop for it?

Samsung UE46D7000- Fortunately didn’t buy

Direct TVs have staff that does not want to do any work, or follow up on phone calls they say they will make and give misleading information. I.e. telling me 2 pairs of glasses come with a TV and not 1 pair like Samsung state. Also throwing in a free pair that they did not have in stock. Which from reading other reviews I would not have got a second pair in the box, or the third free pair.

This comes after having to make 3 visits, totalling 80 miles and on the third visit after having to find out for my self that the TV I want was in stock, not from them phoning me like they said they would, advised me that they close in 30 minutes so would not have time to sort finance out. They of course tried to put the finance through only after me asking if they wished me to purchase TV and stating that I had come all this way for the third time. However the Electricity bill I had did not have a mail shot number on. They were glad however as it was 5 minutes to close and would get home on time.

Safe to say I will not be purchasing from Direct TVs and from reading other reviews about 3D glasses and aftercare is the best thing.

Philips 3D conversion kit

Totally unacceptable service. I ordered the Philips PTA-02 3D conversion kit. They took my order by credit card immediately. 4 days later the goods had still not arrived (on a 3-4 day delivery). I contacted them today to be told that the item is now out of stock and they can't get any more and can only refund. Then they state that it will take 10 days to refund the card. All they seem to have done is use me to fund their business.

DO NOT USE DIRECT TV'S - Shocking

i ordered a TV and paid for next day, they called to say it would be delivered next day. i waited from 7am to 7pm and no TV. i even called them at 16.30 to get an ETA and no one could tel me anything. after numerous calls and emails and getting past from pillar to post, my TV arrived a day late in a broken box which was very dirty.
i called to get my delivery cost back and the refused, no apology for poor service and they dont give a damn. No good will gesture or even a call.
i asked to be put through to a director and was refused, they are obstructive and obviously inundated with complaints so they are a faceless business taking the public for fools.

Never buy from Direct TV's as it will take years off your life with stress.

Shocking service

After it stated on their website that they had stock of a particular Samsung LED TV I phoned to confirm and was told that it was correct and that they had stock.

I placed the order only to receive an email telling me that they had received my order but that they had no stock of that product and that they could not tell me when stock would again be available. I phoned top query this and was again told that they did not know and could not tell me when stock woudld be available. When I pointed out to them that they had taken my money but had not provided me with goods I was told there was nothing they could do and that Samsung would not give them a delivery date. So they were happy to take my money but could not tell me when I would receive my goods. In the end I cancelled the order and went took my business to a more caring and customer oriented company (who were alo cheaper!!)
I would certainly not trust them again and would not recommend them to anyone.

brilliant service

Thanks to parcelforce my TV didn't arrive on the day I requested, DirectTVs were straight onto this to find out why and refunded £10 of the delivery charge for my inconvenience A* for service on that point.

My TV arrived the next day, unfortunatly there was no power cord or remote batteries in the box with the TV, DirectTVs wasted no time in sending these items to me, they arrived 2 days later.
throughout the whole transaction I recieved great communication.

To say the least I'm very happy with the service DirectTVs deliver and the value they place on their customer, not to mention the fantastic value for money on great products.

Directtvs

Excellent Customer Service.

I had a TV which wasn't working, was still under warranty and couldn't find my receipt.

I telephoned Directtvs where I had bought the product and spoke to a super chap. Not only did he help directly with my query (which was to find an invoice) he went on to explain how I should handle my calls to Sony and what I should expect from them as a customer. He was well informed, practical, efficient and kind. Customer service in the UK is generally very poor, so my delight in finding such a helpful man has led me to post this review.

Directtvs

Abysmal customer service and misleading

I had a complete nightmare with this company. Firstly selling me a tv pre delivery inspection that is supposed to check for banding and clouding, on three seperate tvs recieved from there there was both banding and clouding present, im sure the tvs were never actually checked. This service is misleading, they should tell you when you purchase this that tvs wil still have banding and clouding even after the checking process.
They also mislead me, I wont use lie as thats a strong word but mislead me in a number of ways, they said they would swap the tv for another brand, we went to the showroom as they told us another was reserved and waiting but when we got there they said there was no tv reserved and refused to swap the tv. A wasted trip that made me very angry.
They also refused to swap the last tv as they said it was in the manufacturers tolerance levels, even though it was similar to the other two I returned. I also took photos which clearly showed the problem. However I contacted the manufacturer who sent engineers and they could see the problem straight away and swapped the tv. They said it was not normal and should not be like that.
Who performs these checks at direct tvs il never know, but they shouldnt be in a job.
Lastly I wasted so much money on phone calls as the company said they would ring me back but never did so I had to ring them.
If you buy from this company and I would strongly reccommend you think twice, then dont pay for the useless pre delviery inspection and dont expect any decent customer service.
Will never buy from them again, pay a bit more and use a company that respects its customers and does not mislead them. In my opinion the worst company I have ever bought from.

Abysmal Service! Great product (when I finally got it).

I bought a 42" Mirai TV online from directtvs about 1-2 years ago. I chose the option to collect as I live a few junctions away from a local collection showroom.

I got the email to say the item was in stock and ready to collect. I called them just to make sure it was there. I drove there (50 mile round trip). The guys in the showroom had a look for it but there was no TV there. After phoning there office they confirmed no TV had been delivered.

So, they appologised and arranged for it to be delivered a week later to the showroom. A week later I called twice to confirm the item was there on the date they said. Just to make sure I didn't waste my journey and again they said the item is ready to collect. I got a Taxi there and surprise surprise. No TV. They called there office and again, confirmed it hasn't been delivered.

After kicking up a fuss they said they'd deliver it to my home free of charge. So I took that option.

I received the TV as promised and the TV is great to be honest but why the poor service? I wrote a letter to complain and got a reply saying they would look into it and nothing more.

Great product, great price. Lack of comminication between their departments and abysmal service.

adtificially inflated regular selling prices

Looking to buy the new samsung 64 inch plasma, direct tvs have it on "sale" at £2899 plus shipping stating that it is £289 OFF of their normal selling price, which by law they would have to have sold stock at this price in the prior 28 days. This seems a bit hard as this TV is not yet available for sale anywhere in europe, it is part of samsungs 2011 line up and the very very first sets will not ship to the UK before april 2011, not only that, when it does Samsungs recommended retail price for the PS64D8000FUXXU or PS64D8000 as only £2399.99, already one or two retailers are inflating this with a pre order price of £2999 but directTV's goes one step further by actually breaking consumer laws advertising sales and savings that are clearly 100% false.

Consumer power is the only way to stop companies like this ripping off the public time and time again. the only way to stop them is to stop shopping with them.

referencing the comment below, and why they are not ordering any more stock of the samsung 3d glasses - thats because they sold you a discontinued model TV, samsung 3d TV's from 2011 will be using bluetooth glasses not IR ones. they will no longer be producing IR 3D glasses so i would give up trying to get them from DirectTV anymore and get hold of a pair from somewhere else while you still can.

Cowboys - AVOID!!!!!

I placed an order with this company over the telephone on 30/12/2010., to the value of £2085.77. Within the same conversation, but immediately prior to the order being placed I asked the sales individual for their companies best price for specific products which I had received quotes on from other electrical companies ( the price was quoted as one total figure and no individual item prices were quoted). As this companies price, overall, was the most competitive, I decided to confirm and go ahead with the order. Within this conversation, I asked on numerous occasions for clarification of the full order and the sales individual repeatedly provided the order description but with anomalies? Eventually, when the specific number of items had been confirmed correctly, I then continued and asked for clarification of the items and that the glasses were re-chargeable (of which I had been quoted within the package costs from elsewhere), I received a confirming “yes” from the member of staff. Happy with this I proceeded with the transaction, but asked for a confirmation e-mail to be forwarded to my e-mail address before receipt of goods.

Over a week passed and I had received no contact? On the 12th January I phoned the company to establish due dates for delivery and to query the e-mail non-receipt, I was astonished to be advised that the reason for the missing e-mail was due to “talktalk” being mis-spelt? And that the failed delivery had not been detected by any of their staff? Paul Garrett re-assured me that another e-mail would be sent correctly. I also asked for clarification of the order over the telephone, as my confidence in their staff competence was at this point being questioned in my mind. It was within this verbal confirmation, that it became clear that the glasses were not detailed as re-chargeable on the order? I left this query with their customer service team to investigate and to date this is still not resolved? I have contacted their customer service team on 14 different days to date, since 12th January and spoke to numerous individuals. I have sent emails, escalated the matter to managers and managers, managers without any resolution. The initial sales call was listened to, but conveniently, only half the call was recorded and the part of the conversation in which “rechargeable glasses” were confirmed, is missing?

The level of customer service I have received from this company has been diabolical, virtually none of my calls were returned, even when requested from supposed managers such as Nicola Smith and Jane Marshall? Basically, I agreed to purchase certain items for a certain price and to date these have not been received. Under the sale of goods act 1979, this is classed as a breach of contract, as they have failed to deliver and provide specific described goods, which I paid for on 30/12/10.

Also, on receipt of the goods on Saturday 15th January it became clear that there was a package missing from the delivery, as advised by the courier and so noted on their paperwork at the time of delivery. The missing item was the children’s 3-D glasses. I called this company and spoke to Jonathan Fernley at 3.20pm on the same day and asked for this to be looked into. Once again, this matter went unresolved, even though I repeatedly called your customer service team every couple of days, in an effort to resolve the problem. Only on the 1st February did I start to see some sort of investigation take place and the company’s initial findings were that I had in actual fact received and signed for the missing glasses??? Totally shocked by the insinuation I proceeded to submit photographic evidence to prove that the packaging which I received the goods in, could not have physically fit anything else in. Direct tv's accepted this and upon further investigation, they advised me that the glasses were missing and they are unable to source any further glasses for me, nor plan to get any back in stock. Their only offer to resolve this situation was to refund me the price of which I paid? I never agreed to specific item prices, within the sales call I agreed to a total price for the whole order and the price was discounted in relation to the amount of money which I was spending. In order for me to now purchase these glasses from elsewhere, I will not receive any discount as I have already purchased the main expensive item from this company. Once again, this company’s actions have breached the agreed contract under the sales of goods act 1979 and in particular “loss of bargain”.

Also, why the “UK’s largest online TV specialist company” won’t be looking to stock a compatible product to the recently launched 3-D range of Samsung TV’s of the future, is puzzling and hard to believe, especially as Samsung still stock and sell the children’s re-chargeable glasses?

To date I feel as though I have been mis-sold this package, as I have not received what I ordered and the whole ordeal has been a scam. I handed over my money, but didn’t receive what I ordered and I’m now unable to source these items elsewhere at a discounted rate?

I am now awaiting a reply from this company as I have sent 2 written letters complaining, before I pass the details to trading standards and proceed with court action!

AVOID!!

We were told that we'd get two pairs of 3D glasses. only one pair arrived so they said they were out of stock. Called a month later and they said they'd sent them with the TV and that they'd been signed for so they couldn't send another pair out.

Staff were extremely rude and abrubt. Looks like this one is going to have to go to a court case as I've escalated it through what seems like the whole company.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Minus 5 stars (1 star because that is the minimum rating).

If you need to return a product within the 7 day window the Distance Selling Regulations affords you, expect them to hard ball you like they did to me.

They will do *everything* to stall you and then say you have missed the 7 days return window. When you stand you ground and eventually return the product they will hit you with a hefty charge.

All of this is illegal and infringes upon your statutory rights.

Avoid this company - pay a bit more from a reputable company who respects their customers legal statutory rights.

Ignore the glowing reviews on here - they are all fictitious and posted by DirectTVs themselves.

If you have any problems with them infringing on your statutory rights, get a full refund from your credit card company. Failing that, issue a small claims judgement at your local County Court.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY - OUTRAGEOUS SERVICE

The one star rating is purely because there's no option for no star at all! Yes, they have one of the lowest prices on the net, but their customer service is beyond belief. Bought an HDMI TV with none of the HDMI ports working (we have checked repeatedly - all our equipment and HD cables worked with the other TV), so we returned it after Sony technical helpline gave up on finding the fault and since the TV was still brand new. The TV was sent back at the beginning of January. DirectTvs then took 2 weeks and a LOT of chasing to test the TV, then claimed that they 'have tested everything and it works' and so they will be charging me an additional £75 to send the tv back to us, which includes a fee for the testing. I asked what would they do if the TV gets back to me and it's still faulty, and they just refused point blank to take responsibility and deal with it, saying that I would have to deal with Sony directly since it's past their 7 day exchange policy. I asked them to please test it again just to confirm, as it's such a big hassle trying to sort it out again if it gets to that. They said they would test it with another blu-ray player and get back to me. Next thing I knew, I received an email saying that the TV is going to be sent back to me the next day - no consulting me, no checking that someone's going to be in to receive it, nothing. So I contacted them again, and they basically maintained that they have checked again and they're returning the tv to me. Having no option but to take their word for it, I arranged for it to be sent on Tuesday 1st February.

What an experience - I thought arranging for a delivery would be the easy part, but apparently even this is too complex for their customer services team. Like a lot of people, I work full time so I had to make arrangements with my employer to get the day off to wait for the delivery. I waited the whole day, and nothing. I rang them just at 4 pm on Tuesday only to have them tell me there's been a 'mix-up' and the TV is still at their warehouse but it will definitely be sent for the next day. I had to rearrange my schedule to be at home for the next day with my manager, only for them to ring back at 9 PM saying they're really sorry but they can't deliver on Wednesday because the Parcel Force van that was supposed to pick it up got into an accident (yeah, right!). Long story short, I rearranged it for today (Friday) but guess what - they still haven't learnt how to arrange for a delivery yet! I was told yet again this morning that Parcelforce had just picked up the TV today so it won't be getting to me anytime soon. This time, the customer service rep was blaming Parcelforce...something about the barcode not working. When I pointed out that they should have arranged for PF to pick up the TV yesterday or even before, they fell back to 'There's a mix-up and we're really sorry but there's nothing we can do. We're waiting to hear from a manager in PF to tell us when they can deliver to you so as not to mess you about' - a bit too late for that! So now I'm out of £600, I have a faulty TV (with their difficulty in arranging a simple delivery, I very much doubt that they have the capability of testing a tv!) that's gone missing, and I'm running out of annual leave - all thanks to Direct TV and their OUTSTANDINGLY, ABYSMALLY DISMAL customer services team. I will be making a formal complaint and taking this further with the Trading Standards. Think twice before using this website.

Appalling

Sent me Tv that doesnt work, despite 1 year garuntee refused to refund money, taken 2 months to get to a point where they will even send me a replacement!

The sutomer service is awful, they wait untill 5 to answer emails so that somebody else is left dealing with a very unhappy customer email in the morning.

They are gutless, faceless poor excuse for a business and something should be done

I will write on every review site dragging their name through the mud.

Sharron at direct TV's take note, dealing with direct TVs has been one of the most dissapointing and enfuriating moments in my life. I wil be contacting watch dog and consumers direct to see what can be done

Terrrible

After ordering a tv on Thursday with Saturday delivery I phoned up on Saturday to enquire about delivery of my item only to find that there were warehouse stock issues and I would not be receiving my order on Saturday despite paying an extra £25 or so for Saturday delivery. The best they could come up with was wait until Monday for a revised delivery date. They must have known they had stock issues on Friday, how hard would it be to give a courtesy call to advise customers that their order will not be fulfilled instead of making them sit in waiting for an order which will never materialise. They also debit your card at time of purchase, not dispatch, so you will have to wait for your money to be credited back to your account when your order does not arrive on time. Shambolic and incredibly amateur. I would not advise anyine to use this company.
