Crooks - is this a money laundering outfit

I bought a TV from this site selected day for delivery and was instantly bombarded with phone calls from Geoff to buy additional accidental damage warranties.
On the day of delivery I waited in patiently only to not receive any goods, I phoned the courier company who told me their driver just couldn't be bothered on that day and that they could arrange sometime the following week, but wasn't sure when and I'd have to wait in all day again. I told them this was unacceptable and phoned Direct TV's. They told me I could cancel and get a full refund BUT that they needed to wait until the TV was returned from their couriers approx 1 week then it could take upto 2 weeks for them to process and that's if the courier company didn't lose it in the meantime. So basically they had £400 of my money for 6 weeks without me obtaining any goods and to cap it all the FULL refund is only the cost of the TV as apparently I'm liable for delivery charges..... IT'S a JOKE. I now have a customer service agent agreeing its a glitch on their system and I'll get these costs back but their ultra not so efficient emessage system tells me I wont exactly 2 mins after I put the phone down to the service agent. I'm now logging this with credit card company as fraud.
Please do not buy from these crooks, save yourself the hassle and buy from somewhere more reputable.

Worst customer service ever and crooks!!!

Phoned up to enquire about stock availability and got through to some guy who sounded as though he just smoked a fat one! Had no care to help me and was just saying whatever it tells me on the website is how it is. I asked him if he could double check when would be the earliest delivery of a TV i wanted, he just said "im not sure but check the website" i then replied "are you not going to check for me" he then replied "dont need to mate, all the information is available for you on the website" so i just hung up on him. Also was told by an advisor i spoke to earlier that if i applied for credit my deposit would not be debited until i was accepted for credit, unfortunately i was not accepted and the £200 was debited from my account, no one seems to know why it did that or where my money is....im sure trading standards will help them find it! It is obvious the majority of these reviews are written by DirectTvs

A place of excellence and class, just do it, you won't regret it.

The product i ordered and bought through direct tv's was fast and incredibly easy. i ordered and bought the product on one day, it was delivered the very next day, so buy from direct tv's 100% recommendation, for what ever electrical product you wish, in my case it was a television, but i've purchased a fridge freezer too previously so. yep. buy from them.

Just ONE issue when buying a TV

I received an email advertising a TV at £349 however when I went on your web site it was £379. Not a problem when I rang up a very helpful gentlemen sorted it out.

The only issue I had when I went through the process was delivery was added on at the end £20. This should be included in the price or at the beginning or the form filling. People can then opt out buying before wasting their time

After browsing the web for a Sony 46W905 TV I stumbled upon Direct TV's whom had the TV I wanted to purchase around £100 cheaper than competitors.

The TV was listed as EX-Display but also said it was refurbished grade A1, I was not keen on buying a used TV but after checking the grading policy it seemed like a good deal as the refurbished grading policy states ;

- Box opened only
- Complete with no signs of use
- Standard 1 year warranty

The grading in conjunction with ex display led me to believe that the TV must have only been opened and shown to a potential customer.

So I pulled the trigger and phoned Direct TV's confirming the 1 year warranty which I was told was a manufacturers warranty.

Once I received my invoice it raised a concern, it stated 90 day warranty so I email the salesman who sold me the item on the phone confirming the warranty period was 1 year? I was told only refurbs come with 9 months .

Wait a minute I thought "the website states 1yr on refurb grade A1" I then asked this question to the salesman and was rather bluntly told " look don't worry you have a year".

I was happy with that however I had also asked if the TV had been used as according to the policy it should be brand new box opened only? I took me a while to get the answer that the TV had been used!

I then informed him the TV was listed as grade A1 and should meet the criteria listed in the grading policy or it was a falsely advertised sale.

After a few more emails with no joy and having to send screen shots of where the grading and policy were located on their website as they could not find it, I asked to be put through to a manager as the salesman had about as much people skills as a breeze block especially after I had just spent nearly £1000 on an item.

The salesman (who will now be known as breeze block) replied informing me he was a senior sales rep and was qualified to answer any questions I had! Clearly not breeze block or I would not have asked for a manager and if you were any good at your job you would be aware of your grading policy and where on your website it was located.

I informed breeze block that I would like to speak to a real (adult) manager not a self appointed one, to which he replied that because I had purchased the item over the phone the incorrect listing info on the website had no influence and I had entered a legal contract with him as a salesman rather than the company, oh how I laughed.

The only way to purchase an item from Direct TV's is through a showroom or the listings on their web page so the fact it was ordered over the phone makes no difference. It's a kin to me ringing Ferrari after seeing a particular car on their website and because I ordered over the phone I receive a fiat punto, it does not work like that.

After informing breeze block of the above he clearly realised he was out of his depth and passed me over to customer services who were slightly more helpful admitting the listing was wrong as well as the grading policy, however the girl on the phone had no idea what to do apart from say "but it's ex display, so the fact it was listed as grade A1 don't matter", again yes it does dear it's still listed as something it's not!

After mentioning trading standards I was told a manager would be in touch.

Credit where credits due, the regional manager called after quickly reviewing the emails etc... He apologised for breeze blocks behaviour stating " no customer should be treated or spoken to in the manner I was".

The manager has asked for 24hrs to review the website and correspondence sent between myself and breeze block, to which I have obliged, hopefully a mutual agreement can be made before I report the company to trading standards.

I will update once I have the regional managers response, but I'm sure all will be resolved as he was the only person I have spoken to from the company who seems to have an ounce of professionalism.

fantastic prices and helpful staff

Bought from store to get 5 year warranty and was able to take home that day. Fantastic price, best we'd seen! Only negative was that the man serving us was a bit pushy, trying to push a HDMI cable and accidental damage insurance onto us even though we're already covered by home insurance and don't have a dvd player or anything else we would like to connect to the TV at present. Think they must be on commission! Finally check price online before going into store, online said TV was cheaper in store but price in store did not mirror this, we showed them what it said online and they reduced it no problem (also be aware that they charge 1.5% when using credit card!)

Highly recommended!

To be honest I was a bit unsure ordering from a company I did not know too much about when purchasing my new TV however, the service I received was outstanding. Great website, easy order process and tracking, good personal customer service call and check-back once I had received the item. Will definitely use again and highly recommend.

EASY & NO HASSLE

First time I've ordered a TV on the internet from Direct TV's. It was easy and a no hassle experience. I arranged to collect from their Huddersfield Store. It was ready on time for collection very quickly and the Sale Girl was very helpful checking the TV with me before I left the store to make sure everything was OK. Will have no hesitation in ordering from Direct TV's if and when required in the future. Highly Recommended!!!

Clear info on products, great delivery service and easy installation.

Our experience with purchasing our TV was so straight forward and easy. We browsed TVs in the size we wanted and knew we'd found exactly what we were after from the detailed description provided. Amazing!!

Ordered TV on the Sunday for next Saturday delivery. Received several emails throughout the week confirming the progress of my order. On the Friday before a text message received in the morning confirming delivery and in the evening another text confirming time slot. On the morning of delivery I received a phone call letting me know they were 10 minutes away.

TV was around £200 cheaper than other online shops too. Excellent service. I will definitely buy from you again.
