After several phone calls first one they say I have to wait 7 days, so called after 8 days and they say I have to wait 10 days, so I call on 11th day and then say I have to wait for 14 days. I really needed the item within days. Wonder what they'll tell me next time I call!

We finally decided to replace our stolen TV with the exact model that was taken from us three months ago. After some online searching we found that Dixons offered us the best price and could deliver within an acceptable time frame (four days after purchase). We placed the order.
The next day someone called and wanted to do a 'security check'. I had no idea who the person on the phone was, she was quite abrupt and rather rude, particularly when I asked where she was calling from - I was not just handing over my personal details to anyone. After supplying her with our address, my husband's birthday address and a host of other 'security answers', we received an email saying that the order had been cancelled.
We contacted Dixons immediately and they blamed it on our credit card company. After calling our credit card company - who confirmed that they had in fact authorised the purchase - we had to place a new order with Dixons. Which we did.
The next day, I missed a phone call from an unknown number (who didn't leave a message or a call back number) as I was in a meeting. Shortly after this missed call we received another email saying that our order had been cancelled. Same thing. We called Dixons and they said that because they couldn't do the security check - ONE CALL? - they cancelled our order. We had to place another one.
We are now on the third order for this same television set. Our basket shows that we have three TVs in there and it is impossible to delete the older two. The website is very hard to navigate and not user-friendly at all. We still haven't received the latest 'security check' call - and I'm zealously guarding my phone to avoid missing our ONE CHANCE to prove that we are who we are. Can't afford to miss my one chance again.
Does Dixons not want our business? It seems that way.
UPDATE: Just got off the phone with Dixons. They still haven't approved our order so we've gone ahead and CANCELLED. What a joke this has been. Except I'm not laughing.

Brought a washing machine from Dixons, on the day of delivery the washing machine did not turn up only to be told that the van had broken down. 7 months later washing machine has broken down, trying to get hold of customer service was the worst experience i have ever had over 2 hours just trying to speak to someone. In the end I gave up and rang Hoover who were very helpfull and sorted the problem in minutes. Don't even waste your time with this company, worst service I have ever had right from the start.
For some strange reason the web site allows you to order and pay for items that are in fact out of stock.
I ordered 2 lap tops and the process of gathering information regarding delivery and then waiting for the refunds to be processed was unnacceptable
totally awful company, brought a 50" hd plasma from them at a cost of £998, they promised me delivery between 8am and 11am, after 2pm i got worried so i rung them....9 times in total though out the day for it finally be delivered at 10.30pm!!!! WORST COMPANY EVER! i will never be buying from this bunch again....
bought the TV for Xmas ..delivered on recommended date .safe and secured site and get good bargains compare to other store.very good offers on goods compare to other`s .............we def recommend .1st choice and best choice.no second thought of it ..

after training i hit the phones, and ive never felt so alone and without help in my life.
managers who would rather chat with each other and pass the buck to others less experianced. Systems that couldnt do the job.
It was a joke when customers called to ask why its taking 10 weeks to get there laptop back when we had one of many system errors. If the call centre systems didnt work, then what makes the customer think we can fix things.
complaints of over running times for repairs, returned items in peices and even a plate of sausage and mash in a customers laptop. I had a customer who accidently spilt milk on her laptop. She was covered no problem, but the workshop classed this as a bio hazard?

Choose another supplier - even if it means paying a little more. Ordered a washer and this was confirmed as in stock and available for delivery on the chosen date. It didn't turn up on the day and when we checked with company they said it wasn't in stock and wouldn't be ready for delivery for another week. No one bothered to communicate this to us (by email or phone). We were left up the creek with a massive pile of washing and no washer!!
Dixons were not interested in the complaint not did they respond to 2 separate emails asking for order to be cancelled. Had to ring them (which took an age to get through) to cancel. Bought the same washer from Comet who delivered it exactly when they said they would and 3 days before Dixons said they would be able to restock.
Appalling customer service from Dixons - my advice is avoid them like the plague!!
i almost always find what i need there. their staff is very helpful, never had a bad experience. their prices could be a bit lower but since is tax free i guess i cant be too harsh :)
ordered tv online at dixons on the 28 th january 2011, paid in full. have rang them every week to find out when we could expect delivery. every week told a different date when they were going to get stock. as of 3 march 2011 we still have not received the tv. it would not be so bad if they took a deposit when ordering. then pay the balance when in stock. i know at one point there were 98 people waiting in the queue for the same tv...at 560 pound. thats over 35 grand they are sitting on and gaining interest from.....and their customers are being made to wait weeks........disgusting.
Order fails to turn up, then get a call to state vehicle has broken down. I received the call at 20:35 to advise and re-book. No vehicle broke down. They just tell lies because they don't Knowhow to run a delivery service. Shocking service and a poor response to not being able to fulfil delivery.
I received a damaged Hotpoint dryer. Similarly to other posts I have spent much time and money going round in circles getting mixed up with their useless process. I am now being told that as I didn't report the damage within 48 hours I am responsible for the damage.
I believe this is against UK consumer legistlation but I am now stuck with a brand new, damaged unit and the desparation of what to do next. One thing is for sure NEVER BUY FROM DIXONS or the partner companies...PCWorld, Currys, Pixmania or Comet. Give BestBuy the break it needs, they were great.
I wanted to buy a tv and when i got to checkout it would not take my details, after 5 phone calls (1 of them directed to Currys) no joy they said that my card issuer was blocking the purchase, spoke to my card issuer there were no problems. I also tried to contact them online 3 times finally got a response the day after I finally bought my tv from them, no apology and when I tried to email the person from customer services back her address was firstname.lastname@example.org

Ordered cooker from this lot at a good price. Only trouble is not been able to use it due to broken door. No problem i thought just contact customer services, ha what a joke. 5 phone calls to them, not once have they returned call. Now have no oven to cook on, with a large family its been hard. Contacted trading standards and starting legal proceedings against this company. Customer services should be prosecuted over the misuse of the name. THEY DO NOT CARE ONCE THEY HAVE TAKEN YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Will update review if they ring back but not holding out much luck. Must go got to get another take away!!!!!!!!
Ordered large tv with FOUR day delivery 3 weeks ago. several e mails ignored, no word from them, money taken from my account. Item now on website as being unavailable, i believe they have falsely taken money from me despite not actually having the product.*******DO NOT USE, THEY WILL NOT CONTACT YOU*****

Ordered oven for timed installation. Not delivered. Nobody called to advise. On calling them said lack of drivers due weather - somebody still could have told me.
Rearranged for another day. Took day off work to be there. They even called night before to confirm time. Again nothing turned up. On calling them told still out on van. Nothing arrived.
Called following day to be told not in stock!! So why were they arranging delivery times if not even in stock. Customer service rep didn't seem interested. Gave email address to complain. Which I did only to get email returned 3 days later as unable to send.

I ordered a new fridge freezer online understanding that the old one would be taken away. At no point in the emails or texts I was sent by Dixons did they mention that they would not collect the old one unless it was fully defrosted. When the driver arrived he would not collect the old fridge freezer saying it might leak over the televisions in his van. When I refused delivery of the fridge freezer on the basis that I had no idea what to do with the old one he said actually don't worry we will come back and get it tomorrow as we are in the area. Stupidly I agreed to this and accepted the delivery. Surprise, surprise I still have a fridge freezer sitting outside my house. Customer services say that under no circumstances will they send anybody to collect it. They were actually quite rude and said it was my own fault for not following their non existant instructions to defrost it. Now I have to wait ten days for my local council to pick it up. Apparently if I send the bill to Dixons they will refund this money but we will see. I also have things I would rather do with my life than make constant phone calls and write letters about fridge freezers. I also recall ordering a washing machine from Dixons for a buy to let property and when they arrived they would not install it. I will make a note not to use this company again but I don't know if anyone else will be any better. Perhaps John Lewis will be more helpful.

I was always sceptical of Curry/Dixons reputation. So why did I choose to use them? I ordered an AEG S75348kg Fridge/Freezer to be delivered sometime on Monday 11th Oct.... Late afternoon I phoned Dixons for a delivery time. I was told 17:30 up to 21:00. At 19:30 the delivery driver's mate phoned to say he was 10mins away, soon after he arrived . Both the guys were friendly and helpful . They got the fridge/frezeer into the kitchen after removing the packaging outside and explained to leave it overnight before switching on.. So, I was wrong about Dixons! For their dealings with this item and the delivery guys I can not fault them. Well done to Dixon
Bought a Plasma TV from Dixons online. 1st mistake (sadly have bought 4 other items since too).
TV broke after 8 months
Took it away and promptly lost it? a 50 inch Plasma TV . How do you lose a 50 inch TV? Fobbed off with various stories.
Waited for the 28 days to finish so we could get a replacement.
Missed most of the world cup.. Paying for a sky HD subscription I cant watch and without a TV for over a month now.
Seems because they lost it I must wait until their investigations team determines who (in Dixons) was responsible for losing it. How this is anything to do with me is beyond me completely. In past 3 weeks between myself and my better half we have spent well over half a day in total on the phone to them (still no TV or refund) and spoken to more than a dozen different people, on each occasion having to explain everything yet again. Naturally no direct number to anyone so have to go through automated menu each time. Been promised return calls that never happen. Promised yet again will be sorted in the morning and also that there maybe a problem with giving me a refund because the item is more than 6 months old. So the 28 day promise is basically a lie.
I will be consulting a solicitor to sue for not only my money back, but compensation as well if nothing is finalised tomorrow.
Steer clear of Dixons. Oh and for those of you who dont know Dixons (DSGI also own Currys, Pixmania and PC World. Customer complaints email is to PC World)

I won't be wasting my time with some of the 'less well known' retailers again, as the difference in terms of level of service is night and day.
Have bought, separately, washing machine and freezer online this year. No problems with ordering, payment or delivery. Old washing machine taken away by delivery team (could have had this with freezer but not convenient for me). Delivery early in 4 hour slot with phone call 1/2 hour prior. No faults with goods so far so cannot comment on that aspect of service.
They charged card immediately. Goods delivered as promised no problem.
The hob surface was damaged and that is where the nightmare began. I have spent all day trying to contact them often getting cut off, long waits of 20 minutes at 0844 rates and finally have been told someone from Head Office will contact me before 4pm. On not receiving a call I went through the hell again and contacted Customer Services, this time only to be told it would now be within the next 48 hours!!!! Apparently the person who told me 4pm was misinformed!! I asked if I could speak to someone at Head Office, they replied head office did not take incoming calls.
I asked what I should do if they telephoned whilst I was unable to answer the phone and there was just silence.
Their customer services advisers refused to allow me to speak to a manager!!!
Here I am about £10 down and worn out and no cooking hob. My only chance now is to go the the Credit Card Company and see if they will help.
I have had to pay twice for connection of the hob by qualified electrician and and seriously out of pocket.
Dixons replaced hob today 22/2/10. They really need to review their system for dealing with damaged goods as it is really inadequate and totally customer UNFRIENDLY!!
We ordered a 46 inch panasonic 600mhz full hd plasma online with dixons.. we found them to be very competitive and saved over £500 compared with high street shops and stores...
We ordered the tv on the 29th dec and it arrived as mentioned on the 31st Dec.. just in time for new years eve !!!
they have a service where you log in the night before, and it tells you what time they will deliver !! perfect... exactly as promised..
it seems a lot of people have had a bad experience.. maybe luck of the draw ?? but definitely worth it..
Ordered a new Washer Dryer which did arrive on time but thats about alll the ggod news, the machine did not work properly and Dixon's have no interest in resolving any problems you might have as a result, if its within 7 days you can get your money back because they have no choice because of distance selling regulations but do they care ? do they want to help with your problem ? I just wish I had seen the other reviews about their so called Customer servioces team. I certainly wont use them again.
I paid Dixons £750 for a Samsung LCD TV that turned out to be a dud (panel failed after 4 months).
I rang their Customer Service line and found myself connected to a male who sounded as though he was either eating a snack or chewing gum. He was totally disinterested in my problem and mumbled an indistinct comment about Samsung before adding "Hard luck mate" and ending the call!!!!!!
