we bought a kitchen and some appliances for a great price and diy kitchens offered some good advice and flexibility to my order. the guys who delivered were 1st rate and we have been really impressed with the quality of the units. the fitter we used said that it was one of the best and easiest he had ever worked with.
if we were ever to buy another kitchen i would have no doubts about buying from diy kitchens again.
The quality of the kitchen was better than any kitchen we had seen on the high street, and we got what we ordered, only a few soft closers on doors, need sortiing, but other than that great. Admired by all who have seen it
Right from the start your web site made it easy to find then order the items we needed. We liked the fact that we were reminded of additional items that probably would be required.
The quality of your products are first class and the delivery was as arranged. (Well done!)
We were delighted with the help we received from your friendly, competant staff on the occassions when we contacted the company.
We would use your company again and would recommend you willingly to friends.
I ordered two units and several replacement doors, was really pleased with the result, my kitchen is so much lighter. Ordered additional items these arrived just when they said they would. My kitchen is now complete and looks great. Would recommend the company to you.
i visited diy kitchens before i bought and found them to be very helpfull, quality was great.the kitchen turned up when they said,at what time they said,as per my order, complete and nothing outstanding.would recommend them to a friend which we have and he is also very satisfied.was quoted by local company same kitchen but 4 x the price.
Delighted with kitchen in all aspects except for the fact that the end pieces supplied were too short. The replacements were too long and the fitters had to adjust them. Replacing the end pieces and the fact that your employee refused to take the wrong sized ones back added to the expense and spoiled what was an otherwise very good experience. The person who took the original order and helped when the sink ordered was unavailable and generally offered help and advice was exemplary and made it a pleasure to deal with your comp
Delivered on time, units were perfect.Couple of minor issues which were dealt with efficientely and quickly.I will be using this company again for utility room. That says it all.
Quality units, however, the depth of the units could have been more generous when comparing them against the units which they were replacing. This is particularly noted in the pan drawers where there is considerable space between the wall and the back of the working part of the unit.
Good delivery of units and replacing and exchanging of items.
Perhaps a little more guidance on "framing" ideas would have been welcome.
the units arrived already assembled making installation alot easier, our builders who installed the kitchen and have installed many kitchens, were amazed at the quality of the products. Diy-Kitchens were receommended to us so apart from visiting Magnet for some design ideas we didn't search around too much so they may not be the cheapest on price, friends of ours got a great deal on a B&Q kitchen but the quality was no way as good as the Diy-Kitchen. Also the range of fitments was excellent and the different sizes available for cabinets and the range of styles was good. Everything arrived when it should have done so no hitches or headaches. You hera so many bad stories that you prepare yourself for problems, but there were none, couldn't be better.
As a joiner who makes and installs handmade kitchens (for a company who are outside my price range), I am able to say with confidence, DIY Kitchens are a pleasure to deal with. The quality of the units is the best i have seen, With doors and accesories to match.
Delivery was prompt, although i did have three small draw front clips missing, however, one email later and the clips arrived two days later in post.
If in any doubt, do what i did, with very little research on web, find a company with a showroom, who sells the same product, check out the quality for yourself and then order from DIY kitchens for just over half price!!!
Spent a considerable time and effort putting pen to paper to highlight my unpleasant experience after spending £10K on cabinets and applainces. This was not a complaint but more a way of suggested improvemewnt to help DIY and its future customers. Waited weeks for a respose which eventually came {after my urging} as a telephone call from Matthew. The conversation was very unsatisfactory, in a nutshell 'we are cheap, take it or leave it'. left me with a very bad immpression there was no apology for the issue and certainly no appreciation of the trouble I had gone to providing feedback.
Really good, well made products over a variety of price ranges and qualities.
I went round the factory and was impressed with the state of the art CAD/CAM systems used to manufacture the product, which ensure accuracy and quality.
They were helpful and communicated well. I was allowed to change the order when I realised I had made a mistake in sizes and numbers of handles.
They delivered exactly as they said they would and everything went really smoothly.
I would have not the slightest hesitation in recommending this company.
very good service excellent use of technology yet remains friendly
I would highly recommend there kitchens to everyone and anyone.
My husband is a joiner and fitted many a kitchen in his life and he could not praise our new one more highly for quality!!! Exceptional value for money.Everyone that comes into our house always say wow when they see the new kitchen and are most impressed with the quality.Just wish I could post some photo's.
If your after a new kitchen don't hesitate I shopped around a lot before deciding and you do get cheaper but were not speaking a fortune in savings here.Compare the quality in your kitchen to the few odd cheaper quotes and there's just no competition DIY Kitchens is a must for anyone looking!!!
Got the Avanti white kitchen and 2 years on it looks as good as new. Very sturdy cabinets and fixings and very easy to clean.Ordering and delivery was very efficient and swift. Had to order extra items a year later due to some design changes and mistakes made by us,not DIY'S fault, and they were delivered quickly. At the time of ordering the units were a little more expensive than the usual high street offerings but less than £200 but then again lots of sizes are available which other stores don't offer which helped enormously with the design and the quality of the doors and cabinets are far superior. Fitting yourself ,as with any other kitchen requires a certain level of competence and patience but we managed. Have no regrets and end result is brilliant.
Although a bit perplexing to begin with, once you get used to it DIY Kitchens' website is very helpful in prompting you to select the exact components you need to assemble your chosen kitchen. We had a slight problem when the site malfunctioned (or maybe we did) and mixed up our original order and a supplementary one, but this was sorted out satisfactorily.
It was very reassuring to have our order checked by a human to make sure that it all made sense and to be provided with helpful advice on some of the details.
Because of delays with our building we had to put back the delivery date several times; the sales people dealt with this each time without making us feel we were being nuisances. They are obviously used to it.
The quality of the units is very good indeed and much better than we had hoped for. Delivery was made on the appointed day. Nothing was damaged in transit and there were no shortages.
The only minor problem we had was with a supplementary order, where the goods were coming from a third party, who sent the wrong item. However, DIY Kitchens arranged for this to be collected and for the correct item to be supplied in its place.
The value for money is exceptional. Various national and local kitchen companies with showrooms offered us units virtually identical to the ones we bought, but at well over twice the price.
We purchased our kitchen from DIY kitchens after visiting many different kitchen companies. We felt that DIY kitchens offered us value for money- offering top quality kitchens at affordable prices. We visited their showrooms twice and both times found the staff very helpful, answering our many questions with much patience! I telephoned them a few times before placing my order and they were more than happy to help with any queries.
The order arrived at the arranged time, no problems. The order was complete and the delivery person waited patiently whilst i checked that we had everything!
Overall- i am very happy with my kitchen, the service and quality were/are excellent. Many thanks. I have recommended the company to family members who are also delighted with their kithcen, and more family members are planning to order from DIY kitchens. I think that we have a top quality kitchen without the big price tag quoted by other companies.
Our kitchen fitter recommended DIY kitchens and, as we wanted a painted kitchen went ahead. We ordered on-line early in morning and paid, our confirmation email gave us a confirmed delivery date and we booked our fitter and excitedly awaited our new kitchen. A few days later I contacted DIY to ask a question and was told that they hadn't processed our order because they had a question for us. They had rung our phone but not left a message and hadn't bothered to email us. Why???? When we hadn't answered our phone because we were at work they didn't even leave a message and the woman I spoke to tried to make it my fault they hadn't spoken to us. The issue was that, because the units were painted they were going to have to be delivered built by them but this wasn't on their web-site and cost more.
By now we were going to miss our fitting date and our popular fitter was booked for some weeks ahead, we were also going to have to pay more than our confirmation email stated so basically that was wrong on delivery date and cost. I suppose we should have said shove it and gone elsewhere but we were in too deep by then.
I could have lived with the extra cost but they made absolutely no attempt whatsoever to help with speeding up the order at all and we were left for weeks with no kitchen which they knew. In between our order confirmation and the phone call we had removed our old kitchen to save money!
Anyway kitchen is good and they do seem to have now made their web-site clearer about painted kitchens but when it went wrong for us they did absolutely nothing to help and for me this is the issue. They knew the pile of poo they'd left us in and didn't care and to me service is as important as product.
Found this company from a recommendation off a workmate, very good product and helpful staff, right down to there delivery guys
Only a couple of glitches -
1. Some fittings missing from order but no problem in getting them sent.
2. Delivery was arranged for a certain day and driver made contact to arrange time - all good on this front . Wasn't told there would be a separate delivery of the doors with no contact or delivery time agreed. Was suprised to get phone call at work saying delivery was outside my home.
Goos quality product, reasonable prices and excelent aftersales service. I made a few changes to my design after the kitchen being delivered. The staff were very helpful and I swapped various items with no fuss. The end product is just what we wanted.
Many thanks
Stewart Blake
Nothing was to much trouble, we had a problem when one of the doors delivered was a wrong size, this was replaced the following week, then several weeks later we needed an extra door and they were only to pleased to assist
Purchased our Kitchen in January 2010 and this was installed by our own carpenter.
The quality was very good for a budget end kitchen. We did have some doors arrive damaged and had to mess about with photos and emails but the issues were resolved the same day and generally within 48 hours. However we did receive one damaged drawer unit replaced with another damaged one.
I think the customer service is great and we ordered extra bits as the fitting process continued and received them promptly.
It felt good to be ordering a british made carcass kitchen and doors from a BRITISH company.
My kitchen looks stunning in Seton Walnut. The Handles were excellent quality and a very good price.
I would definitely recommend.
I've used this company before and always communicated with Matthew. Had no problems and as a result recommended company to many other people. However on this occasion I had a few small problems with kitchen and in the absence of Matthew I was passed to Rachel in "After sales" . The main problem was that part of the kitchen frame was missing which meant that the light pelmet could not be fitted as it had nothing to fix to!
I mainly spoke to Rachel and various other "after sales" persons. Rachel was the most unhelpful and sounded like she really couldn't be bothered. She even bluntly said to me on an email that there was nothing she could do?/!!! The other "after sales" were the same and gave the impression that they were not interested and not willing to help. I tried to send emails to the person who had been helpful before (Matthew) but these were replied to by Rachel. Eventually I got through to Matthew on the phone and he simply sent the missing trim through the post. Shame as the quality is good but after sales is a nightmare. I purchase alot of kitchens but will be seeking a new supplier in future.
Excellent quality product, delivered when it should be and at an affordable price.
I found the website easy to follow when deciding which kitchen units to order. The order was checked and I received a call to check my requirements which I found useful. I also changed the delivery week a couple of times without any problems. When the units arrived the quality was good and now the kitchen has beenfitted we are very happy with the result.
They made buying a kitchen so easy and fun
Well made and easy to fit top quality
Wanted to replace the old kitchen with the minimum of fuss.
DIY-Kitchens ticked all the boxes.
Wide range of sizes. Units delivered complete. Huge range of finishes & colours. One of the most inportant issues for us was the range of carcass colours that actually matched the unit door colour. Samples of doors & carcasses received within a couple of days. Before ordering, my work took me to the North of England where I called in at the factory, which was very modern and extremely efficient. By then every other suppliers brochures were binned. Web site for ordering was very straight forward. The office called the next day just to check that I had not ordered incorrectly. Kitchen delivered on the stated day. Every single item I ordered was delivered including all the accessories and fittings.
Will recommend again & again - First class company
the kitchen units and door etc were very good quality.
Kitchen was delivered fully assbled into my garage since the kitchen was not quite ready. Ordering was easy and I received a call to go through it before it was finally placed.
Delivery was on time and well handled. Nothing more I can add other than I would recommend them.
Went to their showroom which was tiptop and found the style we wanted from an extremely extensive range. The staff couldn't be more helpful and as they are internet order only no pushy sales. We even got a very informative tour of the factory.
Ordering online was very straightforward, delivery was on time and without any complications. They delivered our kitchen ready assembled, all I had to do was move the units into the kitchen, level off and fix the surfaces.....no need for an expensive fitter.
We went for the cheaper end of their range which also happened to be the ones we liked the most, the quality is far better than B&Q/Homebase etc and the prices bare no resemblance. Check the price for a curved corner unit from Homebase at some £800, at the time of our order a better quality unit from DIY was £360...couldn't argue with that!
Before buying electricals (cookers etc) check the prices on here as they were a lot cheaper and at that time enabled a discount on the whole purchase.
Had to order a couple more cabinets which I collected from the factory with no hassles.
Altogether an extremely satisfactory experience and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and fully deserving of the five stars I have given.
I would be happy to recommend them to a friend.
We had help from a professional kitchen fitter to install about 20 painted Broadoak units about 4 months ago. He commented on how good the quality of the units was and the ease of fitting / adjusting features such as the pull out racks and kick panels. The paint finish is very good and the extra "touch up" paint we ordered for odd cut ends on boards is an excellent match (but arrived as a 2 part 1 litre pack with no instructions). The price was about 30% less than from a local kitchen shop for supply only of exactly the same units. There were some 25-30 extras such as T&G boards, cornices, finishing strips etc., some from a different range and all arrived undamaged and exactly as ordered and as described on the website. The only design feature we did not like was the narrow (about 45 mm) service void behind the base units which is not enough for 40 mm drain pipe clips and couplers.
Despatch at the end of November 2010 coincided with the snow which did cause difficulties with late deliveries - some electricals were on back order and then only one driver was available so we had to assist with unloading, but DIY-Kitchens without prompting refunded the extra cost we had paid. Two units were ordered specially with Alabaster carcases but came in Montana Oak matching the others. The sales team sorted these problems out although several messages went unanswered and some answers were wrong (e.g. "your oven is on the lorry for delivery on Friday" when it had not been received from the supplier). Perhaps we should have expected this when the weather prevented some staff getting in and there was a big volume of orders before the VAT increase. After a couple of weeks we talked to a director who apologised, was very helpful and quickly sorted the remaining problems.
Overall we were quite impressed and would buy from them again.
Almost certainly the cheapest supplier of Second Nature kitchen doors. The carcass's are 18mm and very good quality with Blum hinges and optional soft close doors. The fact they are supplied already built and doors hung is a massive bonus. Supplying the full range of non-standard door and carcass sizes meant we obtained a designer-style kitchen at less than 30% of cost that local kitchen companies quoted.
Delivery was quick, on the stated date and without fuss. All in all, I have no hestitation in recommending and using DIY Kitchens again.
The products and services are first class and although my orders were received on time they did have errors which were dealt with professionally and quickly without fuss. IT is noted that it is usually the suppliers at fault rather than DIY-Kitchens, but the contract is of course with them. My only complaint, and it is not really a complaint more an observation for DIY-Kitchens, is that when I have gone on the website and looked at some items and added them to a basket to review the overall costs before placing an order, I have occassionally picked up what appears to be someone elses basket with lists of items I have not selected. While not a great concern it is possible for someone to accidently order and pay for items they did not intend to. Need a good look at the webdesign.
Finishing on the plus everything received is excellent, questions have been answered promptly and professionally and yes very much recommend to everyone. Well done.
I have been thrilled to bits with the new kitchen, which has been of excellant quality and looks brilliant. The showroom at their site is very well laid out and the staff there were very helpful. However, when there were some issues / teething problems with the products when they arrived the after sales service was completely rubbish. They were not interested at all, and it took many, many phone calls and emails to sort out, and it was never fully resolved to my satisfaction. One of the problems was based on an unmet committment by the firm. If you are happy to take that risk then fine, but just bear it in mind. I have happily recommended the company to my friends with the exception of the after sales service.
The initial order seemed to go very well, with a lot of questions being asked to make sure that everything was covered and a summary of the complete order was sent to me. I made a mistake however in trusting that a couple of small final changes to the order would be as straightforward and did not insist that an amended order summary was sent before delivery. When the order arrived and those changes had not been made as requested, I called to discuss and was told it's your word against ours. Without anything in writing to back up my story, I had little choice but to accept the order or pay extra. We had some pieces missing, which were sent out without any bother, but also one custom made panel that had to be made and despatched three times before one arrived that wasn't damaged in transit. We waited over three months for that panel. I was disappointed in the poor communications both to me and within the company, including one time promising to make the panel but omitting to tell me that the workshop was closing down for two weeks and lots of missed or delayed delivery dates. Happy with the kitchen units themselves - would always get everything confirmed in writing if using them again.
When we ordered our cupboards and doors we ordered them in red although when they arrived they did not match at all. I was worried we would be stuck with a kitchen that could not be used however when I spoke to the DIY kitchens they promised to investigate and called me back when they said they would and agreed the items ordered would not go together. They were helpful and reasonable and advised an alternative colour for the cupboards that would match the doors and arranged for replacements at no extra cost. I would not hesitate in commending the service I received from DIY homefit.
Ordering is straightforward and they check the order carefully for any discrepencies. We decided not to pay extra for a specified delivery date , but they were able to give us some idea of the delivery day in the preceding week. Any missing parts or additional items we required were delivered promptly. The people on the end of the phone are helpful and knowledgeable. We have ordered from DIY Kitchens twice now and would not hesitate to recommend them.
