The thing I like about Dolphin is that they take the trouble to get back to you even if it doesn't end up with them selling you something. I’ve left email with loads of their competitors asking for information about gear, or whether they’ll honour their statement that they’ll “price match” an item, only to wait for days with no response.
Recently I asked about an Ashdown cab which Simon Capper did his best to sort out for me but I ended up not buying because I changed my mind. I did however buy a Yamaha Mox 8 and a range of pedals from Dolphin with excellent help from Stewart Bradley who went out of his way to get me the best deal.
My experience in both examples was that the guys really wanted to help me out, not something you experience every day. Well done Dolphin.
What a breath of fresh air it is to be given a 1 hour delivery window the day after making an online order, along with clear and specific email and text updates throughout. I've tried many other online services - both musical and not - and none come close to this level of customer service. Highly recommended.
Ibanez GVB36 bass took more than 10 days to arrive...Before I completed the order online I phoned in and I was told 5 days...After almost a week I wrote an email,got a reply in which they apologised(Mr. Simon Capper)and from that moment on they 'd kept me well informed about my order's status.Item was delivered in a very organised manner in a one hour time frame.I recommend Dolphin music and would buy again despite the wait as I still managed to save more than £100 on the best bass I ever had.Thank you!
Placed order Tuesday evening around midnight, and have the item within 36hrs. There was a sligh problem with my billing address, but David Wood managed to sort it without any fuss at all. Just a couple of simple emails, and not the jargon you get from other companies when there are issues. Couldnt of been easier, cheers!!!
It has ruined my joy of ordering my very first guitar. My suggestion is stay clear from them, it is NOT WORTH IT. Dolphin music is not a serious, organised company in any way. I was mislead by some of the reviews on TrustPilot, but it's not anyone's fault. If I were myself 2 weeks ago, I would've gone straight to gear4music.com.
When I ordered my guitar from Dolphin Music, it happened to be a Thursday (14 Mar). I waited, hopeful, because the website clearly specified "Free Next Day Delivery". Nothing happens. Instead, on Monday, I get an e-mail, from Mr. Simon Capper, telling me that I need to prove them that I am myself using a passport of bank statement. I did like I was told, and on Tuesday I received the confirmation e-mail, and all my documents were alright. Two hours later, I get another e-mail, telling me that my guitar isn't in stock. It was saying that dolphinmusic are going to receive the guitar on the 1st of april. I thought, I looked on DV247 for the same guitar, just like a reviewer said, but I couldn't find it. In the end, I agreed to wait. However, the next day, Wednesda, I found out a website called gear4music.com, I went there, I found my guitar, I e-mailed them and checked the guitar is in stock, and decided that I want to go for people who I trust. I asked the dear Simon in question for a refund, as I have found a more capable company. He told me that everything is alright, he cancelled my order and promised a full refund in 2 to 4 hours. Well, he probably thought it was going to happen, but it didn't. Instead, another mail. Yes, from dolphin music. They told me it was going to take up to 3 days for the money to reach my account. It is now the end of the working shift on Thursday, the 21st of March. I wrote numerous complains during the day, as well as yesterday. No one would listen. It felt like talking to a wall.
DO NOT, EVER, BUY A GUITAR FROM DOLPHIN MUSIC. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE, USE IT. IT HAS SUCKED ALL THE JOY OUT OF A MOMENT THAT WAS MEANT TO BE EMOTIONAL AND UNFORGETTABLE. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T.
I placed an order but had few issues regarding billing address. Same day, Mr. David Wood contacted me and helped me resolve the issue. I was given a clear explanation and several options how to proceed.

The guitar I ordered was not in stock, when they contacted the manufacturer it turned out to be discontinued, they offered me a different better guitar at a discount and it came two days later.
They were friendly and easy to talk to on the phone, and gave good advice on the selection of guitars.
It came nearly perfectly tuned and ready to play out the box and has been doing well this last week of earnest strumming.
I advise ringing up and checking stock before you order if it advises you to on the page, I was in no rush so that was not a problem for me.
Certainly will consider using them again in future, I was recommended to them by my dad who has been a customer for some time.
They sell item that they do not have in stock. There is absolutely no information about that. They take your money upfront for something they not going to deliver any time soon. After 29 days of waiting and being deceived about new delivery terms they stopped responding to my emails. I have no money and no equipment I ordered.
Keep clear from them, buy from Germany.

I ordered a Gibson Les Paul guitar for my Husband's 40th. Simon at Dolphin, helped me with my choices and was very patient when I couldn't decide! Once decision was made the guitar was delivered next day as promised. Would recommend.

I ordered Cubase 7 update from 6.5. It arrives as promised the next day, within the time slot given by the delivery company. I was able to arrange my day to take the delivery.
Parcel arrived, with excellent packaging and in perfect condition.

I ordered a pair of KRK monitors from Dolphin with the knowledge from family members who have used them before that they are more than reliable, however this was the first order I have placed myself. Creating an account and following through with the transaction was quick and easy. The one complication that did arise (a mixup over dispatch/billing address) was dealt with brilliantly by David via email and the monitors arrived less than 24 hours after I placed my order! Brilliant product & great service, I will definitely shop with Dolphin again :)
The guitar amplifier I wished to purchase was available for £242 at a few shops but I chose Dolphin Music because they offered payment by PayPal, which is easier and requires no personal details to be typed-in at the order stage. I ordered the amp via Dolphin's website, on a Saturday afternoon. On Monday the amp was despatched via courier DPD and received the next day. Full marks to Dolphin for their high level of servic, and bonus marks to DPD for e-mailing to me the delivery day and a one hour delivery time slot, which they met. It may not always be the case but in this transaction I could find no fault. Free delivery on items over £49 is always welcome.
Can't say enough good things about this company, had a minor glitch and Steve in returns was an absolute diamond, sorted everything and even delivered a cable to my house on way home from work, outstanding customer service, Steve you are a credit to the company and to yourself, the measure of a company is not always when they get things right but how they perform when things go wrong and this company has got it spot on, customer satisfaction is the top priority, Thankyou Steve, cheers!
I have used Dolphin Music in the past several times due to them usually having the lowest prices and every time without exception the ordering process over the phone has been great. This time I spoke to Matt and he was very helpful and managed to arrange alternative products to anything that wasn't in stock and had great knowledge of all the products so I could ensure I was getting exactly what I required. The delivery was next day and I got an email in the morning giving me an hour window for the estimated delivery time which was spot on. As usual this was a straight forward and pleasant encounter and I will continue to use Dolphin Music in the future, highly recommended.
During the xmas/new year period, I was searching for a particular guitar from various online retailers - after a few enquiries to various websites, the one that got back to me the quickest was Dolphin.
I had opted to pay for the guitar using the finance option. I had hit a road block for various reasons. The team at Dolphin - in particular Simon - helped a lot throughout the road block, and I eventually got my order placed.
The other websites eventually got back to me - with an ETA on this particular guitar as mid-February. The guitar arrived direct from the supplier three days later.
The customer service and communication is second to none. Thank you again Simon! I wouldn't hesitate to use again or recommend to a friend.
I ordered 3 items, hoping that they would arrive before Christmas. They didnt' arrive and I e-mailed Simon and asked why I had heard nothing. I found that two of the items were out of stock so arranged that the single item in stock (which is the one I needed anyway) would be sent. The Delivery was smooth and I recieved e-mails to confirm when it would actually arrive so that I could be in. Simon also sent another Free item as an apology for the wait,. He has also been very helpful in answering questions that I have had since, relating to the product, so has more than made up for the initial wait. I am very pleased and would definitely order from Dolphin again.
I recently ordered a new Roland Integra-7 sound module trough Dolphin Music and I am very pleased not just with a better deal they gave me but the free next day delivery service as well.
Stewart was very helpful, I've got all the answers I needed every time to all my mail and through phone. It was important to me that the delivery arrive in the morning rather than afternoon and YES it's arrived in time.
All in all, I'm a 100% satisfied customer because the service and my Integra-7 sound module is really perfect! I'm planning (saving) for more goodies to come back soon.

I placed an order with DV247 for a Yamaha fg700ms but I was told that the item was out of stock and I would have to wait 2 weeks for delivery so I decided to cancel. I ordered from dolphinmusic because the item was in stock and I thought it would arrive within 3-4 days.
Here are the list of problems I have had with Dolphinmusic.
1. When I placed my order the amount showed up in euros but It was taken out my account in £. This is not a huge problem but something that needs fixing.
2. I attempted to pay using my paypal acc but the payment was refused twice by paypal? I decided to pay with my debit card and the payment said successful which was fine until I noticed a email receipt from paypal saying I sent a payment?? I paid with my debit card so how did paypal manage to take out the funds from my acc when I never made the payment? I should point out I only got charged once.
3. I emailed dolphin music to ask If my order had been shipped and then 2 days later I get this.
In our bid to reduce fraud on the internet, we have issued new measures of security.

4. I scan 4 pieces of Id and send them to dolphin music and I get a reply back saying all is ok we will ship your order out today :)
5. According to dolphin music the package was shipped to me on the 24th but after sending several emails to them asking for a tracking No I am yet to receive a reply back. I have checked on the website and my order says direct ship but then when I check the status it says pending so why did they tell me it had shipped?
I would have saved 15 euro and maybe be playing my guitar by now If I kept my order with DV247.
Dolphinmusic has been the worst company I have dealt with in a long time and it looks like I will be waiting another week until I receive my order.
I contacted paypal to file a dispute against dolphinmusic on the 02/01/2013 and I received a reply from them with a tracking number the same day.
It is now the 03/01/2012 and my guitar finally arrived at 4pm this afternoon. If dolphinmusic have been ignoring your emails just file a dispute with paypal and they usually reply the same day.
This will be the last time I use this company it has been a horrible experience from start to finish.

After being let down by another online music shop the day before my sons birthday I contacted Dolphin Music and asked for some help in getting me a 6 string Banjo in time. Simon at Dolphin not only located a Banjo but arranged for delivery before 9.00am the next day. It arrived at 8.00am before my son had actually got up!
He is now, as I type, "Plucking Away" It sounds fantastic, Mumford and Sons I think.
Anyhow, Well Done Dolphin Music, as I said, "you saved the day!"

Having been let down very badly by another online retailer, I was frantically looking for a pink Ukelele for my daughters birthday, Steve at Dolphin was brilliant, quickly helping me to find the right model and ensuring swift delivery. I ordered on Friday and have just taken delivery on Monday morning.
Dolphin use DPD couriers who are easily the best and most reliable in the marketplace, so all in all a pain free and pleasant shopping experience and one small girls birthday saved!

I've used Dolphin Music a number of times and now and am never disappointed by any aspect of the transaction. The team, particularly Stewart Bradley, are informative and give a personal touch that few other companies offer. The next day delivery and postage charge is particularly impressive to me as I live in the Highlands of Scotland. With other companies, this usually means a surcharge on the delivery and a few extra days extra wait on even next day delivery arrangements. This is not so with Dolphin Music. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to everyone in the market for all aspects of music hardware, software, etc.
hi, i decided to buy my son an electro acoustic guitar for Christmas, didn't even know what one was when i started to look but googled music stores on Merseyside and decided to ring Dolphin, good move! I spoke to Simon Capper and at the end of the call i had ordered a lovely guitar and pack for a very reasonable price. I still don't know anything about guitars but I do know that I would recommend Dolphin and Simon to anyone else in my position. I had a call yesterday to tell me that the guitar would be delivered today and a text this morning to tell me the 1 hour time slot that it would arrive in, fantastic, can't recommend this store and staff enough! thankyou!

I recently ordered a Vox AC30 valve amplifier from Dolphin who not only gave me a better deal than the shops in London but also shipped in free the next day when it arrived in perfect condition.

I bought UAD QUAD 2 and Auralex Acoustic solution products from Dolphin Music. I could not have had a better experience!
I was told the Auralex products that i bought was to be shipped from United States and i should receive it in 2 weeks time.
I did recieved the UA product but due to shipment delay at the customs here in UK and the Auralex wasn't received on the due date.
I decided talked to a great customer service agent who talked me through the whole process. I was given a free Solid Mic Stand and a free shipping too!
My customer experience was great dealing with guys at Dolphin Music! When I unboxed It I could not have been more happy! I am for sure going to buy from here always! I've shopped with Dolphin before when they had a bricks & mortar store in Huddersfield and they were great. I needed some new gear but their Huddersfield store had closed down so I visited their on-line store instead.
I was after an Ibanez GRG170DX (Lefthanded) "Black Knight" guitar, a practice amp and some accessories. Up to placing my order this was a pretty standard on-line shopping experience. The site was easy to use and the range of stock was impressive. Prices were comparable with other on-line outlets. I wanted to pay using their 9 months interest free credit plan and this was a breeze as the credit application and approval was all done as part of the checkout process; no delays waiting for forms to arrive in the post! Once the credit was approved and I'd paid the deposit on credit card my order was accepted.
A representative (Stephen Atherton) emailed me shortly after I'd placed my order to let me know that the guitar strap I wanted was no longer available. Stephen asked me to choose some alternative items and said not to worry about any price differences (within reason) as they would not charge me any extra. I selected a guitar strap that was worth significantly more than the one I'd originally ordered, my order was amended with no delay and I could see the changes on-line.
Another email followed to say that the amp I'd ordered was no longer being made but that they were contacting stores to see if they had any stock. I said I was interested in a slightly more expensive amp and once again they offered to supply this one instead at no additional cost!
Once the order had been finalised I could keep up with progress on-line at every stage. I received a text to let me know that the order had been transferred to their courier for next day delivery and another the next day to say that they would be delivering between 11 and 12. The courier arrived as scheduled and all items were present and correct.
I also received a few emails along the way from Stephen to keep me posted on the status of my order and to make sure I was happy once my order had arrived.
All in all I was very pleased with the overall experience and would definitely recommend them.
Oh, and the gear was first rate too!
Recently contacted Dolphin Music to request a price match on an item seen cheaper at other retailer.
This they did very quickly and efficiently.
In addition, thier postage rates were a lot cheaper compared with competitors.
The sales person was really friendly, helpful and had a good understanding of the product. He was also fast and efficient.
I really cant fault the service I was given. Price good. Service good. 5 stars. Thank you for a positive shopping experience.
i enquired about buying synths and was directed to stuart who helped me, giving advice on the different models, after i placed the order i decided i wanted to add to it and he took care of it, and arranged the refinancing.basically just great!just waiting for them to be delivered, hopefully very soon!
Couldn't be much happier with the set up I have just bought from Dolphin, got a set of KRK Rokit 6's and a pair of KRK KNS 8400 headphones yesterday, and I am absolutely made up. The agent I dealt with David Wood listened to what I needed in my set up and suggested, what seems to be, the absolute perfect set up for my needs, and I am ecstatic with the price I got. Order a ukulele of the website, waited for 3 days, had an email to advise me on a delay of stock and whether i wanted to wait or they could upgrade me to an alternative free of charge. Obviously chose the upgrade and they sent the new one out the next day. Can not fault the service ive received. Will certainly be shopping with them again and will be recommending to my friends!
I ordered my Yamaha F310 on Wednesday evening at approximately 4pm and was informed that it wasn't in stock but that I would be notified as soon as my order could be completed. I requested that I pick it up in person from the warehouse as no-one would be in to take receipt of it. The following Thursday morning I received a text message informing me that my order would be delivered to my home address the following day. I called Dolphin to query this and spoke to Stephen Atherton, who was more than happy to oblige. He inquired as to the whereabouts of my order and called me back as promised to explain that there had been a mix up at the suppliers, (not Dolphins fault) and that he would keep me posted as to the whereabouts of my order. The next day, (Friday) I received another text message informing me of the 1 hour window in which I could expect my order, I called Stephen Atherton once more and he investigated this further including updating the dispatch information to include the next door neighbours address as an alternative delivery location should the item be mistakenly delivered to my address and not the warehouse. Stephen also promised to keep me posted, true to his word he called once more to inform me that my order had been left next door and offered to deliver my free softcase in person in his way home from work that evening! I've never experienced such obliging staff, it is a credit to Dolphin Music that even when mistakes occur their staff are on-hand to correct the issue and go that extra mile. This is what customer service should be.
Its a friday morning, its my daughters birthday so im up early before work watching presents being ripped into. I figured id have a mooch on dolphin and check out this bass ive heard good things about. I notice its price is more than reasonable and whilst still 38% asleep impulse buy the hell into it. Now, im at work its dawning on me what ive just done.... Im excited about my purchase its a mighty fine bass at an unbeatable price but its bought unseen and has a natural grain finish. Im starting to worry, what if its a bad example of maple with some unsightly knot on the front... I cant concentrate at work.. Oh no! So i ring dolphin up and i getthrough to Stephen or as he is now known 'the man' or just 'the'. I explain my worry and he understands. So what he does is go beyond the call of duty, into the depths of yhe shipping crate and grabs me a pic of my bass's grainyness for me to check over! Turns out it was a fantastic example. This service created all the cons of online buying to dissapear and to be left swimming in a pool full of pros. Stephen heres to you sir... Now i better get back to work!
Ordered Monday, said awaiting stock on Wednesday which I found odd as two out of three items said in stock, but on Thursday one arrived n Friday other two did, which was great as guitar was an order and only took 4 days too arrive, I purchased the boss gt10 guitar pedal, when it arrived the power supply didn't work, emailed them, withing half an hour was called and John from dolphin said he would send a power supply straight away and it arrived very next day and works fine, despite odd problem, all delivered in under a week and excellent prompt customer service, will use again as and when needed
