Poor quality, gone downhill

The last four orders I've had from Dorothy Perkins have been problematic, from a broken zip on a dress, faulty pumps, laddered tights, a dress that stunk of cigarettes, and my most recent one, a dress that was lovely until I washed it, now is covered in frayed elastic bits so is not wearable again! I have now lost my patience and give up with them, most certainly will never order from them again. I'm surprised they are still trading!

speedy delivery but product was a let down

item arrived quicker than the estimated date but I had to send it back as the product was not true to size. Shame as the dress was beautiful

Fast Shipping! BUT Wrong Sizes!!

I fell in love with the dresses Dorothy Perkins had to offer.
First of all, I am from US and I was fully aware I could not return or exchange items from the US based website (us.dorothyperkins.com).
It would be on me if I did not like the items whose I chose myself.

I immediately chose two dresses and MADE SURE I ordered size 16 for both while there was a 25% sale. I also bought two pairs of cute socks.
I started to read reviews AFTER I ordered and they made me feel a bit regretful about my order.. Apparently DP gets the sizing wrong often. However, it didn't matter because I wanted to give DP a chance. I ignored the reviews rating DP low due to slow shipping and no returns to US customers.
So.. The order came in 3 days EARLIER than expected! Woo! And the socks are just oh sooo cute!! BUT WHAT THE HELL!!! The dresses came in the wrong sizes!! Both of them came in different sizes!! One was a size 10 and the other was a size 20..
Such a damn shame because I love the floral print of the dresses. I could make the size 20 work and the size 10 will be a goal dress. Like seriously...
I am grateful I didn't pay full price for the dresses.

My advice to US CUSTOMERS:
Skip this website and save yourself the hassle. If DP had free returns and exchanges then yeah. If only I was from the UK haha.
My review on DP sending the wrong sizes lines up to many others..
The only exception is their accessories like socks that don't have sizes.

Online order for store collection took over a week to arrive

I ordered 3 items online & opted for store collection - normally I get home delivery & it's usually very quick - thought the items would be in store in a couple of days - they say once you have ordered that they deliver to store within 24 hours! It's a week later & I am still waiting!!! E-mailed them twice - took them a couple of days to reply - and they said it can take upto 9 days to arrive as I live in the Highlands & Island. I don't live in the Highlands & Islands, I live in Edinburgh, last time I checked the Highlands are a good 3 hour drive from here. Didn't need a awful geography lesson in my reply just wanted to know when my order would arrive! Very rude customer service!

US customers beware - they don't care about you

I am a Brit/American who recently moved from London to New York and I also had a terrible experience with Dorothy Perkins. I wanted to replace my jeans and ordered exactly as the label read without checking the size chart (I didn't think I needed to). They ordered a 10 and they sent a 14. I thought they made a mistake, but apparently when shipping to the US they automatically convert the sizing. There's nothing I can do except pay $50+ to return ship or keep the merchandise I cannot wear. I was intending to re-order the correct size, but now I don't want to deal with them at all.

What further angered me was that they are not running a proper US operation, but rather some confused mix. They don't have US customer service (but rather the typical rude UK call line), don't exchange and won't subsidize international shipping costs. Their operator was rude ("computer says no") and actually asked me if I was 4 hours behind (what? no one in the US is 4 hours behind the UK) and when they said a supervisor was not available but could call me later, they called me at 5:30am the next morning.

I don't see why anyone in the US would ever shop with Dorothy Perkins. They don't permit exchanges and require you to return to the UK at your own expense. There are so many great competitor options domestically, I would strongly advise not to shop with them.

Got hopes up then cancelled order.

I bought a dress in the wrong size. Sent it back and it showed out of stock. Gutted. Then a few days later it appears in the size i want. Great i think. I ordered it, couldn't believe my luck. Then a receive an email to say they didn't have it in stock after all and cancelled my order. I'm so gutted now.

Awesome!

I order loads from DP online, I get a big packet of stuff all in my size try them on and send back what I don't want. It's like having your own personal shopper, none of this searching the racks to find things for me :-)

Not Impressed

I ordered a dress for a specific date and did not receive my dress on time. It seems everyone has had an issue with the delivery times. It wouldn't be a big problem if you could track your package, but Dorothy Perkins does not offer that (like really, in this day and age?) Needless to say the website states delivery can take 8-10 days; but my order exceeded the 10 day delivery period. I don't think I'll be ordering from Dorothy Perkins again, there are several other sites online that offer better service!

Produce good, delivery awful

I do love Dorothy Perkins as I think they are great for staple pieces.
I gave never had a problem with the quality or fit although I do think their prices could be more competitive.
I recently placed an order for nominated day delivery which turned into a nightmare due to the substandard service of Yodel who make all the DP express deliveries.
I did receive an apology from Dorothy Perkins, an offer of free delivery (err, no thanks, not until you get rid of Yodel) and assurance that they had made a complaint with Yodel also.
Because of being let down when I had actually needed what I ordered on a specific date I am unlikely to order online again.
However, if I'm on the high street and DP have a sale them I might consider popping in.

Delivery Times a Bit Misleading

Placed an order online and paid for specified delivery day to a store near me. I got an email to say that I shouldn't go to the store until I receive an email confirming that my order had arrived there. The email finally came about 1 hour before the store closed on my specified collection day. While I appreciate that, technically, they have fulfilled their obligation, you don't really expect to be left with a one hour window to dash and collect the order. It's just a bit misleading and could probably be clarified a bit better on the website when ordering.

When I went in-store to collect, the sales assistant was quite stroppy demanding to know how "big" my order was. I asked her if she meant what did I order, and she said no, how big was all the stuff. I was just like, I have no idea as you have the package behind the counter...and I have just given you my order confirmation which tells you what is in there. Weird experience but they have such lovely clothes so I will continue to shop there...in-store only!

Order untraceable and lousy customer service

I order on 12th Dec 2013, the next day it shown goods has been despatched. According to the amount I purchase, I will get free standard delivery fees and it only take 8 working days to arrive. Eventually today is the 22nd day and I haven't receive my order. When I email DP, they replied me after 2 days which quoted my order is untraceable. Man...I spent almost usd 200, it is consider quite a huge amount for Malaysia. And I worry that I will never receive my order but the money has paid. How can I get refund...sob. I'm frustrating and angry with the DP services.

Not refunded fully!

Ordered some trousers. The size came up ridiculously small so I sent them back with the free post label.
2 weeks later they still had not acknowledged my return so I emailed the helpline.
Someone came back to me to tell me to wait 28 days before emailing again!
After querying this as they would have clearly received my return low and behold 2 minutes later I received an email for my refund??
Yet stating that I was not getting the full amount. £2.50 would be deducted due to sale prices..... Hang on.... How is that fair???
I order a lot with Dorothy Perkins and will seriously be reconsidering other shops in the future!

Excellent service and delivery

I have used their Internet service for a while now and have never had a bad experience.

Their delivery times are very fast and setting up your online account is straight forward and easy. They make it even easier for you to return items you decide you don't like by simply taking to your nearest high street store.

I would have no reservations about recommending shopping online with them

Only has good experiences

I have ordered from Dorothy Perkins from the United States at least 10 times. They always have great sales and promotions and the clothes are very cute. Granted they are not always the best quality, but you get what you pay for. I realize that ordering clothes from the UK, they are going to take a while to reach me in the US. I always expect to wait1.5-2 weeks for an order to arrive but I have always been sent the correct items.

very poor service,

the customer services is very poor, they failed to refund me on £ 70. the clothes they have recieved, to cut the long story short. the advisor was so un helpful so i asked to speak to someone senior. apposidly she put me through to someone who was meant to be the deputy manager. she was extermely rude, she sounded scared to speak on the fone, no way could she have been the deputy she was raising her voice. i have worked at a callcentre before so i know how to have basic telephone manners she did not empathis with me , it was worse then talking to a dumb animal. my matter was ot sorted in the end, i will take this to trading standards, worse company ever, its a shame becoz the clothes are so nice.

Still Waiting...

I am going to Paris in a few days and I needed some comfortable and stylish trousers to bring and found some on here that were so cute! It's been 2 weeks since I have placed an order and I still haven't received my items. I bought them in enough time for a specific trip and I doubt I will have them in time. I am a huge online shopper and I have never had any troubles, even with sites from out of the U.S., but I am highly disappointed with this site so far and I do not know if I will be returning. I spent good money to have my items on time and now I may have to buy trousers from somewhere else so I have them for my trip!

Don´t bother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried 4 times to order just 2 items and every single time I am told my card is declined!!!!!!! Even my bank can´t understand it, and the ONLY reply (lucky I got one I guess!) is that it must be my fault for putting in the wrong delivery/billing address! Surely I know these as they have been the same for every other online purchase I have made for 7 years!!! Very obvious that I will not be using them again! The automated response that I got to my email complaint, was that due t high demand it may take longer to get a response - AM NOT SURPRISED!!! Seems like a lot of people are complaining!!!

Crappy service, dito shoes

Lousy customer service.
Had a question about a shoe size. They don't sell EU size 40 and I asked what size I should get (39 or 41) and just got answered I had to check the size chart.
Bought size 39 because sometimes I have that size but shoes are waaaaay to small.
if they had told me that there shoe sizes run really small I'd bought the 41.
No more Dorothy Perkins for me!
