Ordered Friday; delivered Monday as per delivery notification. Parcel undamaged. Absolutely no complaints. A+ service.
I'm surprised by all the negative feedback on here and concur with the opinion of many that most people who have a positive experience tend not to leave feedback.
From my experience I tracked my parcel all along it's journey at the other end of the country; I received a one hour delivery slot; knew my driver's name, the order of delivery; what parcel he was up to, and WHERE HE WAS on a map! And yes, he delivered in the time slot.
Such a refreshing change. I do hope that DPD can improve the service so that 100% of customers are happy, but for me it is 100% smiles all around. BRILLIANT!
I was due a parcel being delivered on Friday 29th November however as I did not get a one hour time slot I decided to call the customer service line to find out what was happening as my tracking info hadn't changed to out for delivery I was assured by the customer service agent that the parcel would be delivered that day and a one hour time slot message would be forwarded later on in the day. I had called up as I wasn't getting any answers from the Twitter feed as it seemed very busy. However come 4pm I received nothing no updates no message, nothing at all. So I called the customer help line again only this time to be told the parcel only reached the delivery depot late in the day during the afternoon and wouldn't be out for delivery till Monday! I can understand things getting delayed but was annoyed at the information given earlier in the day where I was told it would be delivered as expected on the day, that just lead for a whole morning and afternoon waiting around for nothing. Now Monday same story today no one hour time slot so I called the customer service line again to be told it would be out for delivery later today and again would receive a one hour time slot later. That was almost four hours ago heard nothing more from DPD and the tracking online remains where it was on Friday morning. Seems no one has an idea what's going on and just leaving me in limbo. Looks like I'm resigned to calling again and I'm more confident I will be still moaning about the poor handling of the situation than I am of receiving any sort of accurate concrete information or the actual package itself!! It cost a lot aswell this is why it's really annoyed me spent so much on it only to have no one care about it!!

Received email and text to let me know my parcel was on the way. Was able to track my parcel on my phone and was given a 1 hour window for delivery. This is the 2nd parcel received through DPD in 3 days and both deliveries went smoothly. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
They send you a poorly worded text on Sunday. Once you've made your selection of the somewhat trick question there's no changing it.
You can try emailing and they promise a response in 90 minutes from the hours of 09am 9pm. But they don't say which days anywhere on the website. Response comes there none.
try using their tracking systems by mobile and by tracking no. and neither work. All I wanted to do was correct the mistaken SMS keystroke I made on Sunday morning. What I can see happening with depressing clarity is that their lorries go out on monday so monday becomes a lost day. This is what happens when you don't read your own website or try your own systems.
Technology is great, as long as it doesn't get knocked about on its journey to you, when it usually doesn't work. Never had any problems with DPD now or in the past. The technology available now means you can also track your delivery right to knowing exactly where the driver is at any point (glad I don't work for them). This makes it easier to organise when you are in to receive your parcel. Perfect, can't get better.
I ordered my goods late Sunday evening with a 48hr delivery window. On Monday morning i received an e-mail telling me to expect delivery on Tuesday and that I could change the delivery date if need be. On the day of delivery, i received another e-mail telling me when to expect my goods. I couldnt believe DPD gave a ONE HOUR time frame. Fantastic, no waiting around all day wondering when to expect my goods. I thoroughly recommend the company. Thanks again.
DPD have delivered about 7 parcels and everyone within the hour stated. The drivers are great and backed up by excellent back room staff. I m disappointed to read some of the negative comments but for my part DPD get the job done
I bought a small item from Amazon, wonderful bargain and I even agreed to a free trial of their upgraded delivery system.
All looked fantastic, I tracked the parcel down the country and even got to see the drivers name, - Lloyd. When Lloyd was two deliveries away I went to my gate to wait for him, just as I arrived he drove past without even stopping or slowing down, I actually started to run after him!!! - at 58 years of age.
I gave up and checked the internet tracking, - it already said he couldn't find my house.
I called Amazon in a fury, and to their credit they immediately rang DPD, guess what they couldn't contact the driver who was too far away anyway. I was offered Monday delivery, - this is unacceptable since I am busy at work.
Again, Amazon were great - a big apology and a £5 voucher, but what I really want is an explanation, I have lost half of my Saturday waiting for the parcel.
Incidentally I have now cancelled the order, Amazon have refunded me.
What we need is a way to tell suppliers that we will not place an order if DPD are going to be involved.
Incidentally, I did have a problem a year ago with DPD, similar issue but that time they logged that none was in the house, - yet they didn't leave a card in the letterbox, and my wife was definitely in all day. I ended up driving 30 miles to their depot to pick up the parcel, they were very rude at the depot and I felt violated.

Paid extra for a delivery on Saturday 23rd from Gear4music.
They couldnt find my house (allegedly)
They attempted delivery on Monday - I was at work
Refused to deliver to my school address so I liased with "make it right" team and was promised delivery today before 12.30.
When I checked the tracker early this morning it said it was at Smethwick depot so I thought I had better check to see if it was on the way.
A long chat later and a wait whilst the call centre called the depot I was informed that my package MIGHT be on the van. Still has not arrived.
Your totally abject service means I will NEVER use gear4music again and will never recommend them if asked by any of the 1200 students at my school.
DPD is a disgrace.
Took the day off for delivery of my PS4 (ordered in June 2013) for release day (Fri 29 Nov).
After chasing at 3pm where my parcel is I find out that it was sent to the wrong dept - Enfield instead of Nottingham (where I live) !!! Was then told it would be Monday for delivery (obviously when I won't be around to take this).
Contacted 'Make it Right' @4pm 29/11 who state they will respond within 90 minutes, asking if they can deliver Saturday etc. 16 Hrs later I get a response 'sorry it was an operational error but you should get it Monday'.
I cannot accept this, Make it Right didn't answer my question and I am absolutely furious with DPD (and Greenman Gaming who wiped their hands of my problem saying it was out of their hands - they took my money quick enough).
Make it Right should mean just that! DPD screwed up and has NOT even attempted to 'Make it Right'.
I will be taking this further with DPD until I am satisfied.
I ordered two parcels one from amazon and one from shopto, both guaranteed delivery today. The amazon parcel - never arrived instead it was signed for about that time by a mark in Bicester - I hope mark is enjoying his free ps4, as it wasn't where it should have been with 'jack' about 30 miles away! Fantastic news..!
I thought to myself that surely it can't be all bad as the second one arriving later which was for my brother will arrive, only to find that Lo and behold the driver 'hasn't found the house' and it has been returned to the depot in Newbury..
Not only did dpd have my mobile number on both orders, I didn't receive a telephone call at all throughout the day which would have been helpful say, when the driver established he couldn't find the house or maybe when the first driver checked to see if they were indeed at the right property, before handing over over £400 worth of goods!
Needless to say I called the numbers on site to receive an automated machine that couldn't help me with no option actually talk to a real person - and also sent an email for I have a receipt stating an answer within 90 mins between 9am and 9pm... Well that time has passed rather a long time ago.
Hopefully something will arrive tomorrow but it's doubtful.. Since there has been, no communication and so I shan't be using them again, a shame really as I had heard good reviews but based on first hand experience, it's not quite what I expected.
I placed an order on Thursday for next day delivery- received all of the necessary confirmation email, as well as a text allocating me a delivery time slot. I tracked the order all day on the DPD website, I even had the option of tracking the vehicle. Apparently the driver was 15 mins away from me and the next thing I know my goods have been taken back to depot. I tried calling numerous times and received no help from the customer service department. I have now rechecked DPDs website and it states that my parcel will be delivered on Monday. That's pretty rubbish when I needed by order today, hence the next day delivery. Absolutely fuming- what kind of service is this? I have taken the day off of work specifically for this delivery.
I arranged for my parcel to be delivered on Thursday. Instead delivery is attempted by DPD on Wednesday. Called contact centre and was advised it would be delivered as arranged on Thursday. Wasn't delivered on Thursday and wasn't even loaded for delivery on Thursday! Phoned contact centre this morning (Friday) and was assured parcel would be delivered today. At lunchtime received text confirming delivery between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Waited until 5pm - nothing. Checked online and tracking info said it would be delivered in 45 minutes. Last update at 5:25pm said delivery driver delayed. It's now 8:35pm and no further update and no parcel either. Come on DPD I'm not waiting in for a third day. Get it delivered!
My delivery was meant to be arriving today between 10.03am and 11.03am, I waited around for my parcel my husband, and father in law were in the drive cutting trees down, (so could have signed for it if needed be) I then got a text message saying my parcel would be delayed as they had tried to deliver but no one was in!!! As you can imagine I was furious! The driver hasn't even been near our house, I know this as I live on a farm in the middle of no where with a single track road going passed us, which is what he would have travelled to get to us. I ring the customer services after receiving the text to find the driver had put the card at someone's house in the next village! I ask when they are going to redeliver it as I had to go to work and got told to ring back in an hour or so as they can't contact the driver at that time.
Over an hour passes, I call them again and ask if they can deliver to my work address and get told no because its a different postcode, the address they delivered the card to is a different postcode!! I then tell them its ok to leave the parcel in the porch as i cannot guarantee that anyone will be home and they say no as I need to leave the card they delivered when they called and missed me, however I do not have this card as they dropped it to someone else's house!! They then realise this and after a while agree it cannot be done and tell me that the driver will drop it in on his way back to the depot between 5 and 5.30pm, I then call customer services at 5.58pm and get put on hold lit then gets to 6.02pm and they tell me they have closed!! it's now 7.10pm and I'm still waiting for my parcel!!
In future I will try and avoid my parcels coming through this company.
Up until a couple of weeks ago I would have said that DPD (Birmingham Depot) were one of the better courier companies - tracking was good & stuff arrived within the promised slot.
But (you just knew that a 'but' was coming) they have now botched up three deliveries and a returns collection in a row - all to an address that they used to find with ease. No tracking, no delivery/collection, endless excuses and no compensation either to me or the companies concerned. They just don't seem to give a ....
The most recent (as per the reference given above) is an Amazon Prime delivery - Amazon despatched on 27/11 - and there the trail ends - a black hole of DPD evasion and incompetence.
What is really grinding my gears is that this is a 'Black Friday Week' deal at around £25 off the usual price. I know that I'll only get a refund from Amazon as they won't replace the missing item at the 'deal price'. So DPD not only have me sitting around at home for two days, when I could be out partying (or whatever), but have cost me the price of several decent bottles of wine that I could be partying with.
Bah and indeed Humbug
I took the day off to await my incoming PS4 that I've been waiting months for. Waiting for a delivery the whole day for it to come at 16:00 to 17:00, I saw the DPD van drop around my area at around 16:17 and I was excited because this might mean my package is here. As I watched wideeyed thinking that my package has arrive, the delivery man took my package and then went to my neighbour's house and then drove off. I thought he might return with my package as they might have multiple deliveries but I received an email 5 minutes later stating that I was not at home despite me looking at the van and the delivery man outside my window during the whole delivery. I called the help center in a panic and the person who answered was friendly and apologetic, however as I asked him to talk to the driver and he reported the driver said I was lying and I wasn't at home and how he delivered to the address multiple times before and has never been wrong. I am shocked and appalled at the treatment of me as a customer.
I do not even have a card leftover at my address and am forced to look for my neighbour in order to obtain the card. My options is to wait for a monday delivery or go to the nearest depot but it's one hour away and without having a car makes it horribly inconvenient for me to get to their location. Now I have to wait for a few more days for my PS4 to arrive and I'm scared about the fact that the delivery person will miss my address again. Horrible and lazy delivery man who I doubt will be able to redeliver my package again. If possible I don't recommend that anyone use DPD for any important deliveries.
My story is similar to one of the other reviews I've just read. Pre-ordered PS4 from shopto.net, took the day off work waiting for the parcel only to get a text message saying that there was no one in to sign for the parcel. There was someone in the living room all day right by the window to the front door, no one even attempted to deliver it, no card was left. Had to hunt down a number that actually gets through to a person and not an automated service and that turned out to be no more help (and I do feel sorry for what their customer service staff have to deal with because of lazy drivers). Am going to have to take time off Monday for the re-delivery. Am tempted to hook a webcam up monitoring my front door and send them proof of their lies. Very disappointed, wish amazon and shopto would ditch this useless company.
Company delivered my item withing 1 minute.. yes 1 minute of the text confirmation I had in the morning. Pretty good going.
Driver might have been sitting outside a waited to the delivery time though.. being a bit cynical there..
Will order more things and test this service via amazon again.
Short story: avoid this company. The delivery drivers are liars and a joke.
Long story: As a long time gamer id been lucky enough to order a ps4 and was guaranteed it for today's release date by shopto. I took today off work so that I could take delivery of my new toy. This morning I received a message stating that my item would arrive between 1139-1239.
Like an excited schoolboy I anxiously watched the tracking app and with the regular updates I watched the van get closer and closer until my delivery spot was next on the list. At 1148 to my surprise the tracking then stated that there was no one home to take delivery and a card was left. This was a complete lie. Not only was I home, I'd been sat staring out the window for the last 20 minutes waiting for the van to arrive. My flat was also built in he 70's. For anyone in a similar position will be fully aware that this means the buzzer shakes the block when pressed.
Thinking I was going mad I checked the front door. No card was left. I then checked the communal flat area. Again no card. I rang customer services on 08435 159 415. I spoke to a very apologetic representative who tried to assist me. I told him to ring the driver direct and to return to my address as I was in and he had lied about the failed delivery. He placed me on hold and attempted to do so. He returned and stated the driver said he tried delivery and no one answered. He could not explain as to why no card was left. He then stated that the driver was too busy and would not be returning with the package.
I was left with two options. Wait until Monday for the parcel to be re-delivered. I knew this would never happen as the company had already shown their true colours. My only option left is to drive 45-60 minutes tomorrow morning to the depot to pick up the item myself.
Overall this is a joke of a company. The driver should have been made to return especially with the evidence that no card was left so quite clearly he hadn't been to my address. Now I have the task of doing their job for them and picking up he parcel myself which is costing me time and fuel. This also doesn't take into consideration the days annual leave I have wasted today and the fact that I never received my item when expected.
Hi, I have been at home waiting for my package to arrive between 12.13-13.13 as you advised me to. I just went to the DPD website and it says: ''Your parcel has been delivered and signed for by CUSTOMER AUTHORISATION''. I have been at home ALL DAY because I payed extra for it to be delivered today. Please make sure that this is solved so I can get my package today!
I checked my delivery online on DPD UK tracking website and it shows it was delivered at 26th Nov, 13 11:02am sign by my name. But i didn't get any delivery yet. I contact with sender & but they also showing DPD record & denying to give any prove & the liability.
These guys are awesome! People are far more likely to review a company if they have a bad experience, so i feel the need to point out my great one! Woke up to a text giving me a specific hour slot that my parcel would arrive. The web page kept me informed all the way through. It showed me which delivery slot i was (no. 36) and which one the driver (Garry) was. There's even a map showing where he is! How awesome!!!
DPD are great, and i would totally use them again. Unfortunately there's always going to be a very small percentage that they don't get right, and they are the ones who usually take to social media and review sites, but i'm pretty sure that i speak on behalf of a lot of other very happy customers.
Great work DPD!
For a long time now I have had a high opinion of DPD, they are the only Couriers who deliver on the button, exactly when they say they will. Monday afternoon I received an email saying an order had been despatched then I saw the reference and the carriers were DPD. I looked on their website and found a department called 'Makeitright' whose task was to deal with any problems arising regarding deliveries. I e-mailed them and said that I had to be at the Hospital from 10-1pm the next day and most likely would have to be back there the following day as well, could they please arrange an afternoon delivery for me. They promised a firm answer within 90 minutes! They didn't quite make that time because all their searching revealed that the parcel had been notified but not received by them so, unfortunately, it would not be delivered the next day. They had obviously taken my request to heart because when they received the parcel late on Monday evening they put it out for early delivery and it arrived in my hands at 9am before I went to the Hospital. That was a very exceptional happening and I now rate DPD higher than Royal Mail used to be fifty years ago but whom, today, I would not award one star. Thank you DPD.
I was very pleased with the service and I thought the text message saying the delivery time and options to rearrange before hand was really helpful. The service was very prompt and my parcel arrived exactly when the message said it would. Overall I think the revive was excellent.
I have had numerous deliveries now from D.P.D. and every one has been when they have stated. You are given a time slot and that is when your parcel arrives! You can organise your day around the delivery time you are given. BRILLIANT!!! So simple! Why then can Royal Mail not do the same instead of having you hanging around all day, waiting and waiting in case you miss them and then have to trail off to a depot far away or stay in another day. GOOD SHOW D.P.D., show the rest of them the way and set the standard.
I was notified that a parcel would arrive between 09:44 & 10:44 and at 10:05 there was a knock at the door.Simply fantastic !! Why can't other package companies also give the same level of services.
I'm always being told to expect a parcel but with NO INDICATION as to a window of delivery. And as a result I have to wait in all day. A real turnoff but now DPD have delivery cracked
So DPD WELL DONE. Your service is so good you'll soon corner the market
DPD kept me informed of the progress of the package and the tracking facility allowed me to keep up to date with where it was, Obi delivered 15 minutes into the one hour time slot given so I was not kept waiting. An excellent service and although it was the supplier Richer Sounds who chose the service I would recommend them.
I was due a delivery from SCAN on the 26/11/2013 between 12:37 and 13:37.
I took the day off work in order to be in for this delivery, however, the parcel never arrived and I received an email saying.
"We were unable to deliver your parcel as there was no one present to sign for the delivery; we left calling card number ***** "
This is a complete lie, I was in all day and no calling card has been found anywhere near the address, more importantly I kept an eye out for a delivery van and did not see one the entire day.
I contacted SCAN and was informed that the driver had been told to return to the address and contact me when in the area. However, again I have heard nothing and still awaiting my parcel.
I have now lost a day holiday as will have to take another tomorrow to receive this parcel which means 1 day less at Christmas. This is completely unacceptable as I cannot gain a day back.
If you value your holidays find another delivery company that actually deliver on the date promised.
The reason for the 2 stars and not 1 star is because the online tracker is actually very useful until they tell you your not in while looking at the PC screen in your front room at the delivery address.
I ordered through this company a few months ago as there service was the premium one, so I assumed it would be decent. No. It wasn't. Instead the service was shocking, the parcel kept getting delivered at completely unreasonable times. I sent them a message when the asked for it telling them where I wanted the parcel left (In a safe place) Instead of taking note they left me a message the next day saying that the parcel was in the factory and had to be picked up by me. The factory was MILES away. Absolutely unacceptable. NOW i'm waiting for another package, and unfortunately the seller didn't state it was DPD or I would have never ordered with them. They are a few days late already and not a single note to let me know what is happening. How can this company still be going?? Seriously. It is awful!
I was quite amazed that a heavy object in Newcastle could be delivered the next day as promised at the point of sale, (online order) to Worcester and that I was kept informed of estimated delivery time on the day and given options to amend the delivery instructions while it was in transit. The parcel was delivered within the estimated range. This is precious as the recipient was able to manage their schedule for the day without wasting time. And Time is Money.
The parcel arrived quickly and I received messages to let me know the exact time the parcel would arrive, allowing me to plan my day. The parcel arrived exactly when quoted and the member of staff (Gary) was friendly and efficient. I'm very happy with the service provided and would be happy to use DPD again. Thanks!
After Pre-ordering an Xbox One back in July, the big launch day came and DPD roared into life. I had a tracking number on Thursday night, great. Come 11am, the parcel was still in the local Dunstable depot, so I phoned them and found that the parcel had been loaded into a van and out for delivery. I waited for my 1 hour slot patiently, and then it arrived.
7am - 8pm
Even then, I was understanding, they had a lot on, maybe they cant guarantee any better than that.
Throughout the day, I phoned DPD every hour, each time being asked to phone again in an hour for an update. As the day went on, it because increasingly obvious that nobody knew where the parcel was. The driver who was due to delivered it changed name each and every time.
And then! A DPD delivery guy turned up at 2pm, joy! Problem is, he had a parcel from a week or so ago to deliver and when I asked him where the big parcel was he said he didn't have it.
Back to the depot on the phone, and the ever changing story changed again. Yes he did have it, they would contact him and get him to turn around. "Hang on, we cant contact the driver." "It will be ok."
Long story short. It wasn't ok. The parcel never arrived and even better, nobody knew where it was. This was Friday afternoon, it is now Tuesday morning. Not only does nobody know where it is, but they haven't even started an investigation yet, so shopto refuse to even consider a refund.
Absolutely disgusting service. The staff I spoke to were all friendly and as helpful as they could be, but the tracking system is a shambles.
I also had a parcel due for yesterday from somebody else. That didn't arrive either. When I phoned them, "the driver broke down", which then expanded later to "he drove into a ditch". "Don't worry though, a new driver has picked it up and you will have it today. Did I? Of course I didn't.
I have a PS4 due on Friday through DPD. I have begged them to please not steal it, but with the "parcel missing" and the "driver broke down" excuses used up, I wonder what Friday's one will be?
I now dread the thought of anything being delivered by DPD, I think I will physically scream down the phone at anyone who suggests that they will use them to lose my parcels in future.
What a brilliant service this company provides. I was text last Friday to say my order is being delivered on Monday and then it have me options if I wanted to leave it with a neighbour. It was extremely easy to have it left with a neighbour. This morning I got a text to say that my driver would be here between 2.14 and 3.14 and even gave me the drivers name. Then I went to track it at 2pm on the website and it shows you the driver driving around on a map so you can see exactly where they are in comparison to your house. Then I saw they were at mine and it immediately updated the tracking with it had been left with a neighbour and my neighbours name. Then I got a text to say where it had been left and when I got home there was a card to say where it was.
What a fantastic service this company provide. I have never come a cross such a brilliant parcel service. You are constantly kept up to date, the tracking process is so easy online and you can track the exact whereabouts of the driver. I can't recommend these enough. I'm well impressed which takes a lot. Thank you, I will now use you to send my own parcels. Thanks A+++++++
I bought an item from amazon.. no problem with them, perfect as usual,But this time i had a problem with delivery company: DPD.
I buy online from two years, i had experience with a several delivery company and i can say that DPD is absolutely the worst.
When amazon say that the item will be dispatched in a specific date, it happened every time, this time was the first time that the item come late, why? Because the driver never come to my home.
They told me that nobody was at home and that a calling card was left. Absolutely false, because the first day i was at home and nobody left a calling card. The next day happened the same thing and i had to contact amazon and dpd. The customer service of Amazon was very good, the woman contacted DPD for me and rearrange a delivery for the same day, so.. i waited and i received another email (the third one) that says again the same thing: I was not at home and a calling card was left.
Obviously it was false again.. i still don't know how this calling card is made, because i never see one (but they think that their driver gave me 3).
Then i tried to call again.. the man on the phone told me that the driver can't find my home, the funny thing is that i living in a normal street, with a normal door that you can easily see just walking along the street, is impossible that a driver that do this everyday can't find my home.
At the end, the driver came at my home for the first time and after one days and 4 - 5 hours late, i received my item.
I would suggest amazon to not use DPD again, and i wish that when i'll order something from amazon, they don't send DPD, i would void the order next time.
