I decided to buy the Richmond Mattress as I have a bad back and was assured this was the best choice. After one nights sleep I realised that it dipped in the middle of the mattress (unfortunately in a place where one of the buttons is) I called Dreams after a couple of days to enquire about a comfort exchange, only to be told I had to have the mattress 40 nights first. I decided to have one of their mattress technicians to come and view the mattress to support the fact that it dips in the middle of the bed, because I feared another Richmond may have the same manufacturer faults, and thought that if the report came back as faulty I could get a different mattress. This was a complete waist of time because they then informed me that all mattresses have a 5cm resistance within the first two years of having it, and that if it is within that threshold it is not classed as faulty!! When I explained that I had complained about this mattress after just one night, and that clearly it started off with a dip, it made no difference to my complaint. It is absolutely disgusting that they claim to give customers a good deal with having 40 nights to try out a mattress, when all along they know that customers have no chance of returning a mattress in less any dip is over 5cm! what's more, I then realised that should I get a different mattress as I was not happy with the Richmond, I would have to get one that was either the same price or more, as a cheaper one would still cost me the amount of the Richmond! So, I then decided to get another technician out to come and look at the mattress independently (costing £40) thinking that they would be working for me and be completely unbiased. To my horror, the technician was clearly biased as he could not comment on what his findings were, even though he led on my bed and confirmed the massive dip in the middle. Furthermore, he would not take photos of the dip due to the fact it was where one of the buttons lie! He said he could not take the photo because dreams will just say that the dip is due to the button being there! Watch out for the shop assistants as well as they are all liars! My assistant made out he was giving me a fair deal as I had spent a fortune on a bed and mattress, so knocked £150 off the mattress due to it being a showroom one. However, on my contract he ticked to say it was a new mattress, hence why I now have the inconvenience of taking the complaint to the top, and if no joy there, I shall be going to the furniture Ombudsman! If you have any sense, never ever go to Dreams!
Try Dreams for your bed, good service at the showroom, delivered as required, any alterations to delivery date are sorted out, plus you get a good bed.
In May this year-yes still trying to sort it out as Dreams have failed to get back to me on lots of attempts of communication. Will they now I am on a forum?!! We went to the Dunstable Dreams store to buy a matress. Twice we were asked if we wanted a base (bed) and twice we told them we didn't need one. I am paying the matress off over 3 years with Barclays finance.
When the matress arrived, guess what -so did a base! We sent it back and now 7 months later and im 9 months pregnant I am still trying to sort out the money back on the base! Firstly I rang and left a message-no one rang back. Then I emailed-no response. After a shirty email I got a response and a few emails went back and forth where lots of different staff kept sending me an email saying I signed the order form so I have to pay a 20% cancellation fee. On the order form there is a lot of abbreviations so you cant tell what it is. Telling them what you want is obviously not good enough so I would watch what they add to your order. When I asked them how they think that is acceptable and I have not received any response back. I have told barclays finance and they have sent them a letter as they agree with me and STILL NO RESPONSE!!!! So about to have a baby, 7 months later what else can I do to sort out the correct finance agreement?
I went into the showroom and needed to have at least one item delivered very fast, so the sales man told me exactly what was in stock and was very helpful when it came to making a decision with regards to size and look. There was a problem at the warehouse with deliveries, but I was notified in advance and the sales man sorted everything out sooner than I had expected and even managed to sort an additional delivery for my remaining items, which I was not expecting; so that was an added bonus! Beds and headboards are now in the bedrooms and look great! :D
We knew we needed a new bed but we weren't sure what to go for. We needn't have worried - the staff at Dreams couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We were encouraged to try out a number of beds and at no point were we hurried or hassled. The assistant took great trouble to explain the different types of mattress to us so we knew exactly what we were getting. Result: two very happy customers who are getting a much better night's sleep on a lovely new Tempur mattress. Well done, Dreams!
How fantastic to have a bed deliver exactly where you want it and all put together ready to use! This is the 2nd Kite ottoman bed we have had. The mattress with the addition of memory foam is so comfortable I am happy to share with my daughters when necessary. The storage is an excellent bonus especially with the easy to lift mechanism, which has been improved since our previous one with a longer strap.
I ordered a wardrobe and drawers from the Nuneaton branch, along with a mattress, the drawers turned up with no problems however the wardrobe arrived on a different day to the drawers fully assembled and clearly a ex display model, this was refused as I was expecting a new item, upon calling the store I was told really unbothered "yeah I meant to call you to let you know but I was busy...sorry, I will try and find a new wardrobe and call you back within an hour", several hours later and no call I rang the store to be told as the wardrobe was end of line stock a new one was not available but he could offer me 30% discount I accepted this on the understanding it could be redelivered to a different address and was in good condition and was told customer services would call me the following day to refund and arrange redelivery, no one called from customer services the next day so I had to called them, I finally got to speak to someone after a 26 min hold on the line to be told I was given incorrect information at point of sale she would sort it and call me within an hour but again no call, I tried the Nuneaton store several times but no one was answering the phone, after 2 more calls to customer services and again no call back I finally managed to get through to the store and was told he would call again the next day, to cut a long story short after at least 7 more calls I have finally only today been given a redelivery date and still have no refund showing in my bank, I have asked to speak to a manager to voice my frustration but have been told he is too busy to call me, as an unhappy customer I feel this is unacceptable he should make time for his customers.
I would never use this company again or recommend them to anyone else, the sales service is great but once they have your money the after care service is rubbish.
Very happy with the service I received while purchasing my dream bed. The staff were very helpful and explained everything I needed to know in great detail. I am completely satisfied with the service received and the bed I purchased is a dream. I haven't had such a good night's sleep for a long time. Thank you dreams team ;)
We were very pleased with the bed, price and service we were given. The salesman and staff were very friendly, polite and down to earth. The delivery of the bed was perfect, the delivery men were courteous and gave us all the info we needed. They arrived on time and assembled the bed very quickly. All in all, a brilliant experience and would recommend to anyone. Most importantly though..... the bed is fantastic. Thank you Dreams.
The mattress was certainly worth the £600 I paid for it, the bedstead on the other hand, £250 (ish) is shabby, not made of oak and broke when we put it together. The staff in Norwich were brilliant and really helpful. A little forceful with the sale, but lovely all the same.
We went to Dreams to buy a double bed with a tv, the sales assistant was very helpful and made filling out the finance paperwork quick and easy. Our bed was delivered when arranged and the fitters were polite and put the bed together without hick up. I will certainly use Dreams again.
The bed we wanted was only available on line at the time, so we went into the store and they offered us the same deal, with the payment options we wanted. The bed (Bruges) is better than I expected and well made. We were worried about buying something we hadn't seen first, but we're assured we had two weeks to change our mind after delivery. However, this was not necessary. Wait for the sale deals, as these come along regularly.
Can't fault the staff or treatment. 5 stars for them! Very freindly helpful and a lovely store to visit. But I'm giving 4 because of slight product issue.
After several visits, we eventually purchased a metal bed to replace our old pine one which we have had for 10 years. (Both cost £450). The new bed is lovely and we are happy so far except for the allen bolts that hold the two side frames to the head and foot. They appeared very very poor quality and most of them rounded off slightly inside the bolt when tightening.
There are also three bolts either side of the frame to hold the slats to the frame. These come with sleeves and did not fit correctly. I had to use washers in order to get them to tighten appropriately. Without the washers they were too loose and the slats rattled when getting in the bed. The bed assembled, we have had no issues for two months.
However, we had to move the bed tonight for a new carpet to be fitted tommorrow and couldn't get the bolts out! The metal is 'extremely' soft and obviously either faulty or of very very poor quality. The allen key simply rounded them off like they were plastic. I eventually had to drill them out! This was annoying!
To be honest, I've had the bed two months and wondering if it will last now but so far appears to be ok. The bolts definately let it down though and makes me nervous if any of the weld will start to break over time or any other lower standard components were used in its making. Our old bed lasted 10 years and is still like new. I'm wondering now if this one will be as good? I hope so.
Ironically, this happened today so tomorrow we will visit the store where we purchsed it and see what they say. Hopefully, the bolts will be the only problem and if so, should you feel you have the same issue with a new bed - don't use the bolts, get good quality ones from another store.
From the moment I walked into the store I was helped by a very happy member of staff. He talked through many options with me and spent a long time listening to my requirements. Even the delivery was at a perfect time for me, no waiting around. All round very efficient.
Told our salesperson what we required and were shown a number of options. The service and also goods were first class.
We wanted to purchase a super king size bed to allow for our little one deciding she wanted to join us at 5am every morning. When we went to Aylesbury we were shown the most expensice mattresses and not much else. We really wanted the bed but felt we were being given a hard sell... so we drove to Milton Keynes. The chap that assisted us there was fantastic (young guy, just had a baby himself). He showed us more affordable mattresses, and gave us a great deal with insurance (which we wanted). Very very pleased and would return to him (I wish I could remember his name, can look it up if you want to reward him).
Ok service up to and ordering the bed excellent the bed mattress duvet pillows excellent, shame about poor range of duvet covers else would have bought those as well. I was promised a delivery date but I never got more than 6 weeks delay and then silence no contact to keep me happy after 7 weeks I phoned them which you're not supposed to do unless you have a delivery date I was rung back to be told it was in the warehouse I wonder if I hadn't phoned how long it would have stayed there. Other companies keep in contact about deliveries or delays dreams seem to take your money then you are not that important
we popped into dreams newport s. wales, and purchased a bed , mattress, double wardrobes and 2 x 5 draw tall boys, a good deal was had and we waited for our delivery (up to 3 weeks).
the bed came and we piut that up ourselfs, brilliant bed and mattress.
the wardrobes came about 2 weeks after the bed and 2 guys from up north came in and fitted it all together, and left.
on closer inspection there was 5 different damages to the set.
i rang kingstown (who supply the furniture to dreams), and they noted everything i said , i also e-mailed dreams and popped into their showrooms.
we waited up to 4 weeks for replacement parts, which one of the parts turned out to be wrong.
we are still waiting for that part to arrive and cannot feel like our bedroom is finished until i have fitted the last of the damaged parts.
it has now been nearly 2 months since we had the bed fitted and we have had no e-mail or phone call or letter or any sort of compensation from dreams or kingstown.
so we feel a bit let down , not so much on the ordering of the new parts but the fact nobody has contacted or offered any thing back to us for all the inconvenience.
by the way the bed and mattress are brillient and we would recommend dreams for beds to any one but the wardrobes mabye not..
We were very happy with the customer service in dreams... We went round and laid on lots of different beds and they were never pushy, they left us to come to a decision ourselves but were there if we needed any help. We found other bed shops to have very pushy salesman and we felt uncomfortable lying on the beds to try them out.
Bought for my mum who wanted a thinner mattress, one was available in store to take away, at a reasonable price. Helpful/cheerful member of staff even helped me to my car, where it's compact size was good, and it fitted in the hatch without putting rear seat down. A painless experience, and my mum likes the mattress too!
When I visited the store on a whim the staff were happy to spend time answering my questions, so much so that I went back the next day with my wife and we took up about another hour of their time before buying our new mattress. They made the shopping experience enjoyable, and I hate shopping. The lorry delivering the mattress broke down on the day, but we were kept fully informed and it arrived promptly on the next arranged date. The men were again helpful and took away our old mattress. A good service from start to finish.
Very pleased with service. Order took a little longer than I was initially told and there was a mix up about my request for a Saturday delivery, but this was quickly rectified and bed delivered on a weekend as I requested.
Dreams were very helpful when I found myself in a pickle after trying to order a bed online from what turned out to be a very unreliable company. My old bed was about to be taken away and I was going to be left without anything to sleep on. I went to Dreams, chose a bed, and they arranged delivery quickly and in time for me not to be left without a bed. Fab!
