I never post reviews but I was reading these just before I left for London 3 weeks ago and I came there all paranoid. So I promised myself I'm going to write one this time.
My experience was as positive as 2 years ago, when I last used their service before this trip.
November 13: my bus at Stansted airport should be there are 5pm. It didn't show up until 5:20pm but I was in no hurry and the driver was really nice. There was only two of us that had 5pm ticket though. There was 8 of us on the bus.
November 18: the only negative thing - at 3am Easyjet sent me an e-mail saying they changed my departure time from 8:20am to 8:40am and that I need to print my ticket again. First of all, I was in foreign country, staying in a hostel. I wouldn't even see that mail if I didn't have some extra time in the morning and wifi. I didn't do anything because I couldn't. Just came to the station an hour early, because I feel safer that way. When 7:50am bus came I asked the driver if he had any space left and he kindly let me in. There was 5 of us on the bus.
So as I said, I didn't have any bad experiences all 6 times I used the service. Even when they changed my departure, I easily got to the airport and back. I've also never dealt with any rude drivers. Most of them brighten up my day. I'll continue to use this service and I'm sorry many others have had such a terrible experience.
I traveled with easybus to Gatwick a few days ago. My bus was scheduled at 9.30am but didn't actually arrive until 10.15am. There were customers that were not allowed on the previous bus as it was overbooked and they were refused entry on the 9.30am. Even though I was given priority as I was booked on the scheduled bus, the drivers attitude was dreadful to the previous passengers. He basically shouted that it's "not his problem" and when asked what to do he replied "I don't care, it's your problem". I was shocked. I'd rather pay more and be guaranteed to arrive at the airport on time. I don't usually bother to write reviews but this was so bad that I felt it was my responsibility to let people know just how awful this service is. I'm definitely not using this service again!!
Not only is this service phenomenally poor but this is actually criminal now. I'm on the bus right now 14.50, 28th November 2013 and I have the photos to prove it. Who would like to see?
Shall I send the photos to the Guardian as a followup article or just call the police?
Sort yourselves out...you're a f*$cking disgrace.
07725561911 -Easybus - feel free to call if you've got the bottle...
We booked the bus for 9h50. we were at the stop at 9h30. We saw the 9h30 bus but waited for our bus. It never comes. the next bus that showed up was at 10h10. but we were 12 people who had tickets for the 9h50 bus, and the driver did not want to take us (priority to people with ticket for but 10h10.).
He did not want to help us, to call the company or give us a number to call.
It was the same every 20 minutes when a new bus came. No help, 12 people almost miss their flight, some of them had to found other solutions, others had to wait. We found a place in the bus at 10h50.... one hour later!
I have used EasyBus twice with success. These were at off peak times, however. The buses came at the exact times listed and were nearly empty. But my third time travelling with EasyBus was an absolute train wreck. The bus before mine never came and the angry passengers became manic. My bus, which was supposed to be 40 minutes later, was delayed as well. I got on the bus only to be screamed at the entire journey by a passenger who had missed the prior bus and was upset I boarded before her, even though my flight left a half hour earlier than hers. On top of that, to my dismay, I realized I was sitting in a seat with DRIED VOMIT all over the back of the seat in from of me. It was absolutely disgusting, but I had noticed too late and there were no other seats available on the crowded and rowdy bus. Terrible experience and I am hesitant to use EasyBus ever again!
I had booked transfer from Stansted to Baker Street at 8.20 pm October 11. When I arrived at the bus stop at 8 pm with my two children there were already a lot of people waiting, some with bookings earlier than ours. No bus came until about 8:40 and it was only a small one with seats for only 12 people (all buses from Easybus are small). We did not make it to get on this bus and neither did most of the other people waiting. The next bus came at 9 pm and the driver said he would only take passengers booked for 9 pm even if some of the other passengers at that time had been waiting for more than 1,5 hours. The passengers got more and more furious and frustrated and when the next bus came about 9:20 everybody was pushing and trying to get on the bus. We managed to get on this bus, but there were still many people waiting who had been waiting way beyond the time they had booked for. In the hotel I looked at the comments on trustpilot which I had not seen before I booked and found that Easybus has a very bad rating here. Unfortunately I had already booked with Easybus for my hometrip from London to Gatwick airport and knew I had to prepare a plan B if the bus from Easybus would not come on time. Luckily the bus came on time, there were not many people waiting and everything went well, but even so, after having read the negative comments and with my experience from the first booking with easybus I will never take the risk to book a transfer with them again. The next time I will take the train or use another bus company and I will advise everybody else to do the same rather than to use Easybus.
I had a ticket for 9.30am. I was at the bus stop early, there were about 20 people waiting already. When the bus arrived 14 of these people boarded and the rest was told "bad luck". I waited for the next bus which showed up but was overbooked too and I was not allowed to board. Had to find a taxi to take me to Gatwick spending another £50 but by this time I was almost 2 hours delayed and missed my flight. This company is a sham, it was hard to see the mums with children crying as they were left in cold and told to wait for another bus and told that maybe if it will be underbooked they can be taken onboard. Avoid this scam company at all costs!
This service is a scam, you are probably better off hitchhiking to the airport.
I had booked a bus for 3pm and arrived at the stop perfectly on time where an angry mob was waiting in the rain. I had to let two busses go off without me because the driver would only let on people who had booked earlier times. Finally, the 4pm driver did the opposite: he bellowed at us saying he would only allow on whoever had tickets for his service. It got quite ugly with people shouting and shoving and swearing to get on the bus and the driver acting as some sort of monosyllabic aggressive transport bouncer. I don't blame him, he has a terrible job. I managed to get on by pushing past some grannies and mums with kids but missed my plane anyway.
I later talked to another driver who agreed with me when I told him his company was the pits. I hope they go bankrupt.
a future National Express costumer
I have travelled by Easybus couple times before and haven't had problems before, as I have always bought the tickets on the spot. But after this incident I will never use Easybus again!
Me & my friend had booked tickets for Sunday night, 14.10, 04.00. We arrived at the bus stop 15 minutes beforehand, and the first bus showed up 04.05, but just drove past us. Another bus showed up 04.20, but only let those with 04.15 ticket on. There were three other people with the same ticket as us, and one of them told the driver that our bus had been overbooked and advised him to take the next bus. This driver took the three other customers on the bus, but yelled to us that there were no more room left in this bus and "It's not his problem". We asked him to call the company but he just hurried away, leaving us in the cold.
At this point we were desperate and didn't want to wait and see what will happen with the next Easybus, because it would be almost an hour later than the one we had booked, and there were already many people waiting with right time tickets.
We decided to take National Express not to miss our flight, and there were enough seats for us. Of course we had to pay £10 extra, which we luckily had left in our pockets. The driver was really warm and friendly AND the bus was on time.
Now afterwards, I remember seen other customers of Easybus stressed and confused and telling the driver that they have the right ticket and won't be let on, at the same time when I got buy the ticket to this particular bus. I'm certain that there's a lot of overbooking and cheating going on with Easybus. I'm pretty sure that we'll never get the money back because contacting the company has been made really difficult. According to my experience National Express worked well and the price was the same, so I recommend this company also to everyone else!
I have travelled with EasyBus a few times before and while I never had any problems myself I had witnessed pretty much everything the previous reviews have described. For example drivers letting people who have missed their bus two hours ago - or not had booked at all pay cash for tickets then refuse people who have actually booked for that service on the bus. Shocking!
I personally saw a driver do this, then say "this is not my problem" and drive off.
But I never really written a review until now - yesterday I went with my friends, who were visiting from Poland to their 4pm bus which NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP!
And we didnt miss it because we were there early and there were other people waiting even longer than we did and they never saw the bus either. My friends had to buy new tickets for the coach service that luckily was running from the same bus stop but that is another £20 gone.
Strongly discourage any one from using EasyBus again.
And they make their refund request system difficult as you have to send your request in through post - I mean, why?? in this day and age - why???
I must express my disgust at travelling with you on Sunday 29th September booked for 16.40 from Gloucester St to Luton. I know you won't respond to this but I'm not expending the effort on sending a pointless letter. The driver of this bus did not let me on the 16.40 and said: "Yeah but it's not really guaranteed and told me to get on the next bus which he said was 10 or 15 minutes later. When I demanded he phone your company he fobbed me off with the number on the ticket. This number does not work with a Dutch mobile phone. So when the next scheduled bus arrived at 17.05 the driver of this bus refused to let me on because the 17.05 passengers were his passengers. I managed to get him to phone your company and heard him complaining that this had been happening too much. So either you are overbooking your busses, or your drivers are taking people they shouldn't. I finally got on the 17.25 bus and ran for my plane which was boarding when we arrived. All I can say is thank goodness I had no baggage to check. I rate you a fat zero!!!
My 83 year old mother has just tried to get on the bus she booked back from Gatwick with a friend at the right time and the bus driver said there was no room and he would have to drop people off first and come back. This was after he lied about being the correct bus in the first place and he never came back.
When I put her on it in Earls Court the driver crammed and extra people who hadn't booked and took cash off them. The whole thing is a shambles and you literally have to fight to get on the bus you booked.
After reading some of the reviews on Easybus I can confirm that I've had an equally terrible experience. Whilst on route to Gatwick 12/9/13 0300, I was refused entry to travel on the bus, indeed passengers with later tickets were allowed to travel. The driver was very rude, unhelpful and unprofessional and did nothing to reassure us that we could board the next bus. We were left with no alternative but to make our own way to Gatwick, which is what I will be doing from now on.
I certainly will not be using this service again and strongly advise that any other customers with similar issues complain to either the OFT, BBC watchdog or similar organisations.
Easybus, Never again !!
Used this service 12th September 2013. Booked and paid for three seats in advanced from Earls court to Gatwick but the bus never showed up. I waited in the cold with my 3 year old daughter and partner for over an hour however one bus showed up and we and many other passengers that had been waiting were refused entry. The driver accepted passengers who's ticket were later than ours and many other peoples. He was outrageously rude which caused tremendous tensions between everyone who'd been waiting. A few people started to argue as to who would get on the bus in fear of missing there flight and losing out on all their money. We didn't get any answers from the driver and was left abandoned with our luggage with only a limit time to get to the airport. We decided not to take the risk of waiting any longer and made our own way to Victoria station and boarded the Gatwick Express. This service was fast and reliable, definitely worth paying the extra cost. THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY BACK!!!!! DISGRACE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE STEALING PEOPLE'S MONEY.
I've used Easybus a number of times to and from Gatwick. I generally find them fairly good, but have had a few issues. There have been a couple of occasions when they bus has left a before schedule - annoying if you're rushing and make it on time but no bus shows, or worse you see it pulling out as you run up with 5 minutes to spare.
I also tend to book a later bus to prepare for delays with luggage/customs etc, and on one occasion had the bus driver tell me I couldn't get on until he'd seated the scheduled passengers (as expected), but then sell new tickets to people who hadn't booked at all, with the result that there were no seats left for those of us who'd booked and paid (at a higher rate) in advance, but for a later bus. This only happened on one occasion but it was incredibly frustrating.
I used the Easybus servis in July and August and I considered to use it for my upcoming trip in October, when suddenly I decided to read the reviews once again. To be honest I am quite shocked, because in my case both trips from London Gatwick to Earl's Court and back were nice.
My friend and I had tickets for 17:15 on the 23 of July, but we got through all the procedures quickly and were free at nearly 16:00. We still decided to wait till the booked time, but then considered it reasonable to try to go earlier. We found the stop, which was near the North Terminal, but it still was only 16:50. The bus driver though took our tickets and told us to come inside. We even travelled to the South Terminal alone in the couch, then a couple of people joined at the South Terminal and in an hour or so we were at Ear'ls Court.
The trip back was on the 8 of August, we had our tickets for 10:10 in the morning, we arrived earlier and saw the bus standing nearby, but it came only about 10 minutes late. Nevertheless, we got on a bus, and it was full. People got heavy and big baggage, but the driver opened the back doors and attached the baggage to the aisle and everything was okay.
Now I'm reading all the reviews and really think of going to book with National Express, although there's a possibillity that till October everything will be better...
We booked our Easybus for 28 aug 1500h, Gloucester place to STN. No bus arrived until 15.20, but that turned out to be the 15.25 bus. Driver filled his bus with 15.25 booked passengers first, leaving most of the 15.00 pax stranded. Same situation occurred 30 minutes later with the 15.55 bus arriving. Pax for 1500h not allowed on bus. Still stranded.
Situation quickly became very grim, lots of shouting, lots of stress.
Eventually bought two tickets for 10 £ each on the National Express coach.
My advice: Avoid Easybus at any time, even if the ride were for free.
An horrible and stressful experience.
NO MORE THIS FU***ING EASYBUS!!
21 august 2013: To go from Gatwick to Earl's court, the same pbm than others said: previous buses didn't pass. So we were too many people at the stop, the bus came with 30 minutes late and everybody tried to enter in the bus, doesn't matter the hour of their booking. There was people waiting since 1h30!
28 august 2013: To Earl's court to Gatwick: same experience. There was a lot of people waiting for the bus. The previous bus didn't come and our bus came 30 minutes late. People had big luggages and the driver decide to not take more people because there wasn't enougth place for luggages. 2 seats lost.
We came too late to the flight, but we tried to go.
We were late for checking and we can't register our luggage. We run in all the airport. Easyjet let us pass controls with 2 razors in our luggage (security?).
Plus jamais ça!
Made a reservation for a trip from London to Gatwick airport on August 6th at 13:05. We arrived at the bus stop near Earl's court in London around 12:30. One bus stopped at 12:45. I asked whether the driver could take us as he was empty and did not take any passengers, but he told us we had to wait for the next one as that was the one we made a reservation for. Since then, no easybus showed up until 13:50. That bus did not want to take us and only took passengers that reserved for 13:50. Since we were with 5 people, it was impossible to get aboard of some of the buses that did show up after that. By that time, more people had not seen their reserved bus and people were pushing and shouting to get into one of the buses that did show up (maybe half of the reservations). Complete madness at the bus stop. When we finally arrived at Gatwick airport, our 16:25 plane had already left and we ended up with paying 300 GBP to rebook our flight. Bus drivers are all Polish and hardly speak English.
In summary, Easybus claims to be a basic low-cost bus service, which is fine, but that does not place them above the law. If you pay for a certain service in advance under mutual agreement and EasyBus does not deliver any service at all but just takes your money, that is illegal under UK law. Of course I wrote complaint letters etc., but as expected no response whatsoever as they know small customers will not go into expensive legal battles. Is anybody aware of legal collectives to sue Easybus? I am mostly interested.
Easybus seems cheap, but their service is so bad that at the end of the day you pay much more for either alternative transportation or missed planes than when using reliable alternatives such as train or normal bus companies. Not to mention all the stress that you get on top of it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Especially when you read all these similar experiences you cannot conclude otherwise than that EasyBus is a fraudulent organization.
I have used easybus before, and they were fine.
However, recently I got an email saying that because of London road closures they were moving the bus-stop to another location. We went to this location, and guess what: No bus came. There were also no signs or anything which suggested this actually was the location they moved to. When we decided to call, turns out this business has NO PHONE NUMBER - what business has no phone number??? It's been over a week now, and I also have not received any replies to my emails etc.
Fortunately for us this time, we were simply going to the hotel the night before our flight. Unfortunately for the other people left stranded, they probably missed their flights.
The thameslink trains to Clapham Junctions/Victoria/London Bridge etc. cost around £10 - much cheaper than the Gatwick Express. I urge you to use these trains rather than depend on easybus - a business which may or may not help you. If you don't want to risk missing your flight, please don't use them.
We almost missed our flight to Gatwick today, no bus showed up at all.
Eventally we hurried to Victoria station and took the train and were just in time.
I had to make a lot of extra costs.
It is impossible to call, the phone number is fake and no reaction on complaints.
How is this possible for so long?! I see bad reviews for years!!!
lots of people were waiting, this is really scandelous and I will never use this " service" again!
We have been using easybus until recently, and had few problems with them. However, in summer 2013, they became very unreliable. In two occasions, buses did not show up for an hour, and that almost caused us to miss our flights. When the bus finally showed up, there were too many people waiting for it and not enough space for everyone.
It was reasonably good service up until 2012, but now avoid at all costs. We'll be looking for alternatives for our airport transfers.
I've never written a review on Trustpilot before, but the horrible service that easyBus are providing needs to be pointed out, so that others don't make the mistake of using their negligent service like I did.
The driver on my bus got lost, and the journey from Gloucester Place to Stansted Airport, which was scheduled to take 1 hour and 15 minutes, ended up taking more than 3 hours. In addition, the driver nearly crashed the bus into other vehicles twice, which made the whole ordeal even worse. Due to the delay, I missed my flight and had to book a new flight for the following day and spend the night at the airport.
Please - avoid easyBus at all costs. The prices are low, but you'll regret saving that money! Choose the National Express or Stansted Express instead.
had my ticked booked at 00:20 from Stanstead Airoport, bus did not turn up, next bus 00:40 driver took all passengers with ticket for 00:40 no room for myself, the next bus was leaving at 1:00. The driver of that bus advised us to take terravission bus as there were too many of us waiting and the bus had only 13 seats. had to pay twice for my ticket, missed all others night buses connections, got home 2 hrs later than expected. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
I have never written a review before but just felt i had to. Similar experience to everyone else here ,the bus did not show up on time and i almost missed my flight. The driver also shouted abuse at me for taking too long to take my ticket out of my pocket(I mean, wtf??).
Will never use again
Same experience as every other customer. Booked a ticket for the 6:45 pm bus today and waited for 20 minutes with no sign of a bus until I gave up and jumped on a National Express bus.
On the National Express bus now, for which the driver was lovely, on the way to Stansted. Still not sure if I will make my flight, but urge everyone NEVER to use EasyBus!
Same problems as previous reviews:
- van simply didn't turn up, 3 loads of people trying to get on one bus that arrived 2 hours after booking
- driver throwing luggage around. Damaged my girlfriend's camera
- incredibly rude drivers both ways
- drivers charging money to get on bus in spite of T&A's of booking. Drivers clearly pocketing money themselves. On outward journey, driver charged woman £10 (plus her original ticket) to get on. On return journey, other driver charged couple behind us £20 to get on.
- on return journey, driver pushed gentlemen to the ground
- no complaints procedure. COMPLAIN TO TRADING STANDARDS.
Will NEVER use this service again and urge others not to do so.
The bus was around 10 minutes late.
The driver was extremely rude. I was travelling with a friend, and we only had an electronic confirmation, which the driver claimed is unacceptable, and he couldn't let us in.
He said we could buy a ticket though. Of course if we didn't we would have been late for our flight, we had no other option. The guy sells us two tickets with a datestamp for a couple days beforehand, so it's crystal clear the driver is a giant douchebag and is simply pocketing the extra money.
The bus itself is extremely hot (no airconditioning), and very cramped. Spare yourself the anguish and take gatwick express.
So yeah, fuck you easybus.
Very rude driver!!!there was 2more seats but he put the luagagges there!after the next bus arrived with full of passenger and the stop was full of people too!he didnt even say any words!that was an empty round!staff need to be nicer and more helpfull!shame.........
We were waiting 3,5 hours for a bus during a cold night. But then we were shocked how the driver treated a woman who was waiting with us. She had a ticket for the bus at midnight (which has never shown up, it was 3am at that time), so the driver refused her, because she should have used the bus three hours ago. But there was no bus for over three hours!
The driver was very rude and unprofessional and he said it's not his problem.
Never more easybus!
I like many other booked a ticket online for the bus route for the airport at London Stanstead from Baker stret. I still had 2 hours before my plane was about to leave. I came to the Baker street bus stop at 10:55 and there were about 30 pepople waiting for the bus. I found out they were there for over an hour as their bus at 10 has not arrived and finally when my scheduled bus arrived 5 MINUTES LATE at 11:15, the first in over an hour, these people litterally clawed their way in even though it wasnt their scheduled bus. Now I do not blame them, they were trying to catch their plane. however the bus driver ( WHO BARELY SPOKE ENGLISH!!!!) couldnt explain or handle the situation, simply said there was some kind of delay and after 15 mins of strugling left with a handful of pepople from the bus stop. Another 15mins later one more bus arrived however still not enough for all the pasangers, the driver again had no idea when or IF more busses are coming. THe whole situation resulted in me having to buy a ticket for another extra 10pound at national express so I would catch my plane as I was unable to get service I PAID FOR IN ADVANCE from your company!
Unfortunately this wasn't the first time Easybus failed to provide its service without delay and from now on I will advise everyone to use National Express as a mean of transport to airports as they are much more reliable and ALWAYS on time!
