perfect for me

Hi,

normally I would give you 5 starts but the one left it is to improve even if from my site it is all OK but nothing in this world it is perfect.

I appreciate a lot that when I have some issues and I contact the web service I always get a feedback, that's a big difference compare to others.
I am in France, we have several website like this one, some of them are free but, you have no search engine like here, posting distance from your position and other option makes this website my favorite.
Of coarse it comes not for free, some people are keeping this website working and they have to gain money which I think it is normal.
I would appreciate if people which are renting can leave feedback on their experience during their stay.
That would make owners to try to have better service for people which are renting, as well during years house owners would have more and more feedback all this feedback should create a score. All this would give an image to the people which want to rent.

Same should apply for people which are renting, they should get a feedback from the house owner how they did behave.

Of coarse each side can avoid back feedback just creating new profile but if somebody wants to rent he will rent the house where are positive feedback.

Other wise you can have a look on all websites from this category and try to outscore them, that's how it works if you want to stay in business.

a clever scam

I subscribed as a basic user to this website, and had access to the adverts, I was also able to send email to the users, but as a basic user I was not allowed to see the replies. The day after I sent a msg to one of the users who matched my needs, I received an email from frank@easyroommate.com which alerted me about a reply from the user. I opened the msg and I could see five lines of a blurred answer, they prompted me to upgrade in order to see the msg, and being in desperate need of a room as I was, I upgraded to 10 days service for £ 19.90 in order to see my answer. Now you can only imagine what happened next... I reloaded on the msg and it was not there anymore the only think I could see was 'please call - 079560312921 for more details' which I did, but guess what... the number was not in service.

We are really sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the service Easyroommate offers. However, I would like to clarify how the website operates as there seems to be a misunderstanding: what you have seen as a "five lines of a blurred answer" is a default image representing a hidden message when both parties are Basic Members. It doesn't represent the actual content of the message (the message could have been 20 lines long, the image hiding it would have been exactly the same). When you became a Premium Member, you unblocked the actual content, which in this case was apparently a very short answer.
Easyroommate is a service matching people looking for a room and people advertising for spare rooms, based on their respective criteria. Once our members are interested in each other's adverts, Easyroommate is not involved in the communications occuring between them. It seems that the Member who replied to your message made a mistake when he wrote his phone number in his personal message to you, I hope you understand this cannot be held against the website itself. However, as a Premium Member, you can contact him again through the site or access his phone number directly if he allowed it to be displayed on his advert.

found my room!!

helpful site, solved my problem. I started searching for a room on gumtree, but got all sorts of dodgy messages and spam and decided to use a proper room website. that worked much better and best of all, there were premium members already and I didn't even need to pay to upgrade. No hassle, and I now have my room in london, can't complain.

Easyroommate just the ideal place to find a flatmate

I had a spare room to rent in Brighton, I wrote an advert and had a few replies within one week. The first good thing is that you can fill a comprehensive form to choose an ideal flatmate. The second good thing is that most profiles have a photo and a description. These two features help you to pre-select those members that are more suitable to you and the others living in the house.
Following a few interviews I have chosen the right flatmate!

Easy to use and quick results!

I used different sites to rent out a spare room in my flatshare, Easyroommate was the most efficient one. Qick sign up process, the form takes no time to fill out and I also managed to arrange viewings for the same day. Overall it only took me 5 viewings to find my new flatmate :)

Strongly recommended!

I have been in the UK for 1 month. I was looking for a room in London zones 1-2 and I found my perfect one very quickly via Easyroommate without even paying for the Premium membership. Many landlords who were already Premium members called me to arrange viewings. At some point I have had a plenty of houses to choose from. After 3 viewings I found the best for me which was large enough and close to the Tube (exactly what I was looking for!!). I would definitely use this website again in the future.

No more 15% for me!

I've a had few HMOs in South London for a while now and I've always used letting agents to fill them on one AST. A mate told me about Easyroommate - since then I've had shed load of emails from people wanting to rent rooms in my property - probably too many at times! Frank does like send an email as a warning! Great Website!

I have found a room in London in 2 days using Easyroommate. It's the best flatsharing website I have ever used! They have a huge choice of rooms especially in Central London. Plus it's so safe and easy to use. You just need to post an ad, which takes literally 1 min. The search tools are really good as well. You can select the criteria you want then the system updates the results straight away so you don't waste your time looking at listings that you are not interested in! My advice would be to take a premium membership especially if you want to find a room asap. It's worth every penny!!

Quick to get set up with little fuss...

I'd used Easy roommate in the past when I first moved to London after uni. Looking at the site now I was surprised how much easier it was to get going on it. I put in where I was looking, what I was looking for and then a few little details about me and I was browsing all the available rooms in the areas I was interested in living.

Great Site

Used it twice since I moved to London. I always found a flat quickly through this website. Ads are verified which makes it much more secure than Gumtree.

Very nice idea for find a room!

Easyroommate helped me a lot in the search of my new room in London, thanks to this website - that I find very complete and useful - I could find a nice room in the city centre and on a budget. I really like how the website shows the search based on my interests, so do not waste your time! I also found very interesting the search engine method... that is very comprehensive. Would definitely recommend it to those who must find or rent a room in a hurry and want a really reliable service.

I rented out my room within 3 days with Easyroommate. It was easy to set up a free account and I found a great roommate really quick. I will definitively use Easyroommate if I am offering my room (or looking for one) again.

Reliable portal, nice and easy graphic design, friendly add and edit ads, perfect contact with customer service, still creating something new and universal. I highly recommend to all who have a room to rent, or are looking for a roommate.

Easy to use and lots of choice

I am an american student who is over in the UK studying, and used this site before I came over because my college didn't have campus space for me :-(
I didn't sign up for a paid account I just used the free version so found that the rooms I could look at were restricted to the ones posted by paid up members, however, within a week I had found a nice (cheap) double room 15 minutes walk from campus.
I found this service nice and reliable, in that every room I contacted got back to me and all were genuine, I have used Craigs List in the US and was swamped with emails from crazies!
I would recommend this site for an easy way to find a room.

Basically a scam

Here's what I wrote to the customer service e-mail:

Hello. I'm very annoyed. I'm guessing you know exactly why. Yes, it's because I just spent a good deal of time posting an ad on your web site as well as reviewing other people's ads only to find out you were trying to scam me out of my money--at least that's what I have to assume you're trying to do.

Let's examine the facts:

1. Your basic membership is basically worthless because I can't contact anybody and they can't contact me. Yes, the sarcastic pun is intended.

2. You do not make it at all obvious that this is the case until after someone has completed their ad.

I hope you can make a strong case in your defense because right now it is going to be my pleasure to write a very harsh review on google or yelp.

I'm sure you're aware that craig's list provides the same service for free, because I found a link to your website on yes that's right craig's list. I recommend a prescription for Ambien because I'm guessing you have trouble sleeping at night; on second thought I'm writing you a prescription for a soul because you probably sleep like a baby.

I don't know why I bothered writing this, because you’re probably a basic member just like everybody else and you’ll never see this email. Therefore you will never get to hear me say…

Fraudulent website - Stay away

The search results are a fake and the website stops functioning as soon as you make a payment. Please do not I repeat do not spend a dime on this website.

Found a room for free no problem

I am coming over to visit my kids in London for August/September and my son told me about this site.
While I found the sign-up process a bit long winded once signed up I actually found a room from a premium(paid) member and have arranged the rental.
I know that the basic free membership meant I could only contact paid member ads, but for me this wasn't an issue, and their help line was very reassuring about my concerns on rental costs.
I used the uk site - uk.easyroommate.com

Truly shocking experience

I'm trying to use this website and I cannot put into words how frustrating the the user experience is. They have taken my money but I cannot see my advert because they will not let me see my search results. I have paid for my add to be highlighted but they are telling me that my advert is not highlighted. And because I cannot see my search results I do not know if my add is genuinely not highlighted, or whether their system has not yet updated. Genius.
