We find the web site is easy to use and most of the time the answers to our add are genuine and honest. The fast resolution of reports of scammers is impressive and makes the web site trustworthy. The site is easy to follow and results are mostly as expected. The staff are excellent at handling enquiries and solving (MY) problems.
To often as customers we're quick to complain when things go wrong or we've received bad customer service. So I've felt compelled to provide some positive feedback I received lately from the Easyroommate customer service team. I had difficulties with the site in terms of being allowed to progress beyond selecting my desired areas, as the confirm key was not showing up on the screen for whatever reason. The same problem occurred when I used two other computers. I emailed in initially explaining the problem as it was becoming extremely frustrating and irritating as I couldn't look at my rental options and as it stands I am in a fairly urgent hurry to move from my current address. I was provided with some technical fixes that might work such as disabling cookies etc which didn't solve the problem. In response to this I was told that they would choose my options manually on my behalf if I was to send them via email. This solved the problem and I was very happy with the polite and helpful tone of the email correspondence I received and the swiftness of the action taken. The correspondence was from Frank, so I'm not sure if this is the person who dealt with my query or just a figure head but whichever the case I would like to say thanks. I work in a call centre so I appreciate the value of a good feedback when a job is done well so thanks again for taking ownership and helping me out. Kind regards Dave
I purchased the premium membership so that I could contact members in looking for a room for rent. I found a couple of rooms for rent from basic members. Every time I click on the option to email or send a quick interest to the members, "Error on page" displays at the bottom of my computer screen. If I cannot communicate with members as was advertised for the premium package, why did I purchase the premium membership? Also, the "Add to your favorites" option does not function as well. The only thing I can do is use the "View profile" function. The premium membership did not buy me much. I requested to Victoria to resolve this issue or refund my payment. This issue has not been resolved.
Easyroommate continued to call me during the day even though I instructed them via email that I could not receive their daytime calls, but rather requested that they call me in the evening. I did not receive a call this evening. Easyroommate had recommended that I change my outdated browser and also suggested that I use "Add to your favorites" in order to contact members by using this option. I had previously documented that this particular option does not function as well; I cannot use this option. My computer uses Internet Explorer 8 and I will not update my browser. The Internet Explorer 8 browser limitation with Easyroommate should have been documented on the website. I have requested a payment refund because I cannot use this website and Easyroommate has yet to honor my request, but rather they have restarted my 30 days premium membership. This does me no good; I cannot use any of the functionality other than view a profile; and I need to find a room to rent now. I was confident in finding a room to rent when I registered with this company, but now I have regrets.
I had advertised in the local paper for almost a month without success when I received an email advertising Easyroommate. Because it was free I decided to give it a try. But, when I found out that you had to pay in order to reach emails and phone numbers of people who were searching for a room to rent I became dubious of sending out my credit card#. Am I ever glad that I did, because I found a great fit in a roommate after a few days on the computer. The amount that it cost compared to newspaper ads is amazing. I will use Easyroommate any time I need to find another roommate.
I have been a premium member with easyroommate for a number of years and experienced some difficulty with contacting other members which led me to consider using another advertising site. Ellie offered a satisfactory solution and i am happy to remain with easyroommate as a premium member for at least a further 6 months in the hope that the difficulties experienced don't prove to be a continuing problem.
This is the best site I have found to help with finding a new place to live, always keeping me updated with whats on offer. Keep up the good work, and when I need a new place to live I will be back. Thanks for all your help Regards Chris
The site tactics for attracting paid customers smells fishy. They send you emails from mostly "Basic Members" that are match to your ad and they say that they can't read your messages as both parties are Basic members. Apparently the basic members receiving notification about having a message are encourage to become a Premium member but none of the members that I sent them messages got back to me. Then I took a month membership that was expensive compared to running an ad in the Domain web site that is more popular and well known in Real Estate business. Becoming a Premium member didn't help me as I didn't get much feedback to my communications. I receive emails about the matches that don't have a single line of description and they seem to be a system generated members that don't exist. The search results are outdated with the same ads running for the last two months. The "EASYROOMMATE.COM" didn't work for me and they didn't cancel my membership when I asked for a refund. Where is customer satisfaction?
If you search for only a female roommate, the search doesn't work, your search results are filled with men in their database. When you check the female box, you still get every guy in their Database. if you're looking for only a student to room with, your results contain every one that works anywhere. You must be prepared to ignore or skip past most of the search results. I don't know who their programmer is, but it is SO frustrating to use this. .Also, when you search for roommates by the date they began their ad, the only thing that shows is today's date. So if you contact someone you may get a message that they that they found a room weeks ago. I know their intentions are good, but their programming is poor. Perhaps they have a reason why their results contain people you aren't looking for, but this isn't helpful. Their rates are reasonable for the service, but the search is frustrating.
Easyroommate is one of the top services for room search, that's helps you chose, gather info and has a service that is "on the spot" for reminding you of your options with timed alerts. Serious site for serious people :)
I have recommended this service to several friends. I know that most folks are responsibly and looking to be kind to your home. Afterall it benefits no one to want to come in and not be responsible especially if you'd like to be used as a reference for other roommate opportunities
I was please that I am able to communicate with other premium members but thought it was a bit unnecessary to block messages from basic members. I would have been glad to pay for premium if it was more fair across the board as far as pricing. I only need the service for a few weeks but need to pay for months if I want to get the 30 cents a day price? Seems unfair, should be able to pay 30 cents per day and quit at anytime.
I have used this site to find someone for a room in sharehouse. My nephew is also using it to find a room. Like that you can get range of people to contact in a safe way. I give out more and more details once initial contact made. We have got hiuse mate from here. One tip however is no met then at a shopping centre etc for a chat and a coffee before they move in, no matter hiow goid they sound over the phone
