Overpriced with poor service. Cancelled our domain registration in error. Avoid.

They cancelled our domain name registration in error (they were supposed to be cancelling in e-mail package, and admitted it was their fault). Our e-mails and website were down for 24 hours while this was fixed and we lost several hundred pounds worth of sales. All they offered as recompense for the disruption was a 3 month extension of the domain name registration worth £4.43. I wasn't expecting some huge amount of compensation but that was just insulting. A refund of the £17.71 subscription was all I was looking for considering this was 100% their mistake and had taken me several hours to sort out.

They had already increased the price by 8% each year for the last two years, and were much more expensive than other providers, I was only staying with them to avoid disrupting our service, which didn't work since they managed to shut us down for 24 hours!

New Subdomain

My developer asked me to create a subdomain for testing. I found an FAQ that told me how to create the folder and configure DNS, Easy to follow and now working.

Simple email configuration

My New Website

I have been given a new website and asked to upload it via FTP. I had no clue on where to start. I contacted support and they directed me to the control panel where there is an inbuilt client. there is a simple help guide which allowed me to upload my content.

SSL SETUP

Awful, unreliable service for last 6 years

Having been a long-standing Easyspace customer for six years, managing a portfolio of sites through them has never been easy. I've been plagued by down-time, mysterious server changes that knock my site offline, terrible customer service, their no-refund policy, the fact I had to print, scan and fax documents to them to cancel a service which would otherwise autorenew, a useless email support team. They even said that legally, they aren't obliged to give refunds, which is not true.

Would not recommend.

I am sorry to hear how you feel and for any issues you may have experienced. Our technical support team are available to help via phone, email or ticket and we always aim to resolve any issue at first point of contact where possible.

In relation to your comments regarding the cancellation of your services I can see that there has been some confusion with this. You are able to cancel via your control panel, over the phone or via secure ticket. In addition to this you can remove the auto renew feature at any time by selecting the 'services and auto renew' option within your control panel. We do not require you to print, scan and fax any documents to cancel your services. The only time that type of procedure would be required would be to authorise a transfer of domain ownership.

Our customer service team are dedicated to providing the best service we can and I would advise that if you would like to discuss your issues any further then please don't hesitate to contact them.

Autorenewal feature

My domain was automatically renewed at three times the normal charges and despite many requests, the company would not refund. I had no choice but to move on to a different provider. There should be a law against ripping customers off.

Support

I called the out of hours support team at 08.00 this morning, my server was off line and at 08.13 it's back, thanks easyspace

Easyspace stole my money!

This company are absolute thieves, I got a paid invoice for a domain renewal a whole month before it was due, the cost was at least 3 times more expensive than UK cheapest and so I immediately called them to stop the payment.
They said it was too late as the payment had already been made, I complained and said that there was still a full month to go before the renewal but the would not give back my money.

I have now cancelled all my renewals and are moving them all over to UK cheapest.

This bunch of crooks should not be in business!

UPDATE! - After I dared to post this negative review.

Easyspace replied by stating that they will try to find a solution to my problem - Here is my answer:

You have not tried to find a solution to my problem, if so you would have refunded my money when I complained an hour after you sent the paid invoice a month prior to the due renewal date?

So now I have to start a bank charge back and post my comments on as many Easyspace review pages as possible to warn other people from dealing with Easyspace.

I have also found out that you will charge me £15.00 each for transferring my 13 domain names away from you after all these years of being with you - £15 per domain to relocate to another provider due to Easyspace's bad service is just another extortionate way for you to steal our money.

You could start to repair customer relations by at least not charging me to get my domains back, but reading all the other complaints on the web about your company, Hell would freeze over first!

I am sorry to hear how you feel. The renewals would have been processed in this way as they were selected to automatically renew via your online control panel. You can activate or deactivate this feature at any time by deselecting the option in your control panel. Many customers take advantage of this service as it ensures their services are not effected by a failed renewal.

DNS update

I love the DNS control offered by easyspace, simple and easy to use in the control panel, I had to create an a record and managed it with no problems

Avoid at all costs!

I had no end of problems when I first used easyspace.
The website was down many times losing me business and the email system would also go down , yet again losing me business.
One problem I had my husband ended up having to fix as they had completely mucked up the website settings.
This was the final straw and I moved everything to another host including my domain names. I set the AutoRenew to off.
Now a year later they have taken money off as miraculously the auto renew had been reset!
I phoned and they were absolutely disgraceful and unhelpful, said tough nothing you can do.
I asked to speak to higher management and was told there was none! I was given an email address customerescalation@easyspace.com
I emailed straight away and surprise surprise the email system is down!
Do not use there are more professional companies out there who look after customers and treat them with respect than this dodgy so called business.
