Ebay

Helt Fantastisk!

Ebay

Ebay isn't so Bad, ''BUT when a Bad Buyer comes along you're screwed'' and the Fees

A lot of people love Ebay and i don't Blame them, it's got everything on Ebay, The trouble is we have Dishonest people who abuse the ''Buyer-protection'' paypal is to blame too they are Terrible at protecting the Sellers.they will limit you're account forever and can't be disputed if a dishonest Buyer complains about a very expensive item for example $1000 laptop you're in limbo and they state it's different if not empty Box..... PLEASE REMOVE YOU'RE FUNDS STRAIGHT AWAY BEFORE PAYPAL DOES!!.

Ebay kept Holding my funds at first what a nightmare never again

If you're a small seller and selling expensive items DON'T, start off with $5 items if not smaller, because it's risky to many dodgy people. and don't expect ebay support to help they are terrible same goes to paypal they need to weed out the dodgy people and look at what ebay use to be,

Ebay isn't Ebay anymore it's like a retail store, my opinion 89% of the Goods brought from ebay is New not second hand now all stock photos, i remember when people put loft and attic items on auction you don't hardly see that anymore it's a different place, and what makes me angry they shove a women in the front of the ebay home page with her arms crossed saying ''you're in safe hands when you shop on ebay'' and that's when the dishonest Buyers abuse the system ebay protects the buyers not the sellers,

Ebay can cost you money (and you get nothing in return)

I have been a buyer and a seller on Ebay for many years. I always felt safe using the site as there is Ebay Buyer Protection and I felt Ebay would sort out any problem that might arise. In November 2012, however, I ordered a drill through Ebay. When the item arrived, it was not the one advertised and I contacted the seller. He agreed that it was sent in error and asked me to return it. It cost me £25 to return and from then on I heard nothing from the seller. I contacted Ebay and went through the procedures required. Ebay subsequently refunded my original purchase price but refused to do anything about the cost of returning the item. The Customer services Dept did not really listen to the case and seemed to think I had returned the item for a reason such as "it was the wrong colour" instead of a fraud by the seller. Accordingly, I now have no drill and am out of pocket by £25 as Ebay say is not their policy to cover such items as return costs. Where is the Buyer protection in that. NOT GOOD ENOUGH EBAY!!

Ebay

Bad for buyers and disaster for sellers ( AMAZON IS MUCH BETTER FOR BUYING & SELLING)

for buyers it is very difficult to get your money back and let you get scammed (faulty, damaged, replica, fake items) . for sellers there is no protraction or support at all + very very very high fees ( 20% ebay & paypal ) and always in the buyer favour even if they are scammers + when you cancel any transaction always get back the final fees 0.01 less, for eg if you sold an item and the final fees was £2.00 when the transaction is canceled you get back £1.99 and this happened so many time imagine if it is happened with other hundreds or thousands other seller imagine how much money Ebay makes PROBABLY A LOT.

Ebay

Perfect for buying - pricey for selling.

I have been using ebay for some time and up to now was happy with the service provided.

But sellers fee are ridiculously high and I will most likely not use ebay for selling anymore.

Ebay

Good for convenience but charge ridiculous fees for selling

A good site and some good deals but if you are selling they charge silly fees and then charge you more fees for receiving money on PayPal. Silly.

Ebay

The way to a cheaper living :)

Helt igennem fantastisk og nemt at bruge, har virkelig sparet mange penge.

Great Bargains!

I love a great bargain, especially when it comes with an outstanding service! Great Place to shop!

Ebay

Love eBay

Usually whenever I think of something small I want to buy eBay is one of the first websites I will visit to do a search. It has such a huge range of things from different sellers you can spend all day looking for bargains. Cannot fault them at all providing you choose carefully who you are buying from.

Only minor set back for eBay in my opinion would be as a seller. I feel the percentage they take when you sell something is quite a significant amount.

Ebay

God oplevelse

I received my item

Its been a month, and the seller has all kind of excuses, she won't tell me when I received my item, so I lost hope, but they have my money :(

Ebay

Nemt og altid gode oplevelser ud af det

Jeg har efterhånden brugt ebay en del gange, og hver gang været begejstret. Levering hurtigt fra alle sælgere, så deres system fungerer perfekt

Ebay

Always getting better! Great for buying or selling

Ebay is a fantastic website for buying things I can't get anywhere else, no matter what I'm looking for there's usually an auction for it, or at the very least a past historic auction so I know that it might go on Ebay in the future again. Although everything on Ebay isn't old, there's quite a lot of brand new stuff on there as well, I mostly look on Ebay for things which shops are no longer selling eg. discontinued items.

I've sold a little on Ebay in the past and found it a little complicated at first however full marks to Ebay for giving sellers plenty of options to promote what they want to sell. Plus there are tools available to work with Ebay to help automate this if you needed to. I found the fees reasonable and actually think that it makes sense to charge more for further exposure.

Ebay

Trying to be like Amazon without the good customer service.

eBay are trying to be like Amazon and sometimes they are cheaper, which is great until you have a problem. If something is wrong with your amazon order send it back and get a refund or replacement with your return postage paid in full. Same problem on eBay and you will be refunded - only if you have used Paypal - but you can kiss your return postage goodbye. This means a vendor can describe anything as new or mint condition and if it's not you will lose money and eBay don't care.
Given the choice between buying on Amazon or eBay it's Amazon every time.

Serious loophole with eBay's returns policy

Was always on the opinion that eBay protected buyers and that it was very difficult to get ripped off by a seller on eBay. That's not the case.

I ordered a high value electronic item from a UK company on eBay and paid via a CC on Paypal. The item appeared reconditioned, was sold as new, and had a couple of major faults. Spoke to the company asking for a full refund. The company asked me to return the item using their pre-paid postage. Which I did (I know I should have sent the item using my own tracking. Live and learn). A couple of weeks later and no communication from the company I opened an eBay dispute. eBay forced the company to respond. The company said that they would issue a full refund once I return the item and that I should dispatch it using my own postage tracking. 30 days later and eBay sided with the company stating that I didn't have permission to return the item and had no proof that the company had received it. Once eBay rejects a dispute, eBay and Paypal will no longer listen to appeals.

I posted on eBay's forum highlighting the loophole. They deleted it on the grounds that it encouraged others to break their TOS. eBay's disputes team: 'Seller is not breaking TOS.' eBay's community team: 'The loophole clearly breaks TOS'. As a last throw of the dice I sent a long email to eBay asking them to apologise for the way we were treated and asking them to look into the loophole. They claim to respond within 48 hours. That was 3 weeks ago.

Ebay

£20 in every £100 in fees

Ebay is fine when the sun shines, but when it rains they will take your umbrella off you. The fees are way to high for a company that uses just a computer, no warehouse, no, or little advertising, compared to its turn over not many staff. I read recently that ebay dealt with more than £100, 000,000 in a twenty four hour period. Thats £20,000,000 in fees, in one day. Just to clarify the point I include ebay and Paypal as one, the same company but different, yea! Try and complain and you will find little or no customer service just a parrot that repeats prepared text.
Time for some one else to take their crown and treat the people that make ebay what it is with some dignity and courtecy.

Very disillusioned!!!

I have been using e bay for some time and up to now was happy with the service provided. I can't believe that a buyer is charged for return postage when an item is obviously misdescribed. This is e bay policy!!!v It has recently cost me over £43 to return a package to China. All I can say is be very careful before you order especially from outside the UK. I also had to spend a considerable amount of money to get a similar match as my grandaughter had chosen this item and I did not want to disappoint her. Don't believe it when they say you are protected by ebay and paypa ,l I would like to kno what protection. The customer service is also very poor it just seems to be automated as they definitely don't read what you are asking.

Ebay

Good until it goes wrong

Feedback is usually a good indicator, but if something goes wrong there is a narrow window to open a dispute with PayPal (also owned by Ebay!). If you disagree there is no comeback - both PayPal and Ebay register their interests abroad so it is not possible to persue them in the courts without what will most of the time be expenses outweighing the loss. They make a very big fuss about purchases being protected by PayPal and then make the claims process as complicated as possible to dissuade and confuse.

Ebay rubbish

Like many others I have been on ebay for a number of years, first of all just buying then selling I find that they do not look after the sellers at all we are unable to leaven negative feedback, the fee's really do take the pee not only do ebay charge us but paypal too.

Don´t you just LOVE ebay!

I do! Ofc you have to be carefull what you bid on but that´s just opening your eyes.. Love ebay:)

Ebay

eBay is great, if you're careful.

I absolutely love browsing items and shopping on eBay, and I have done a little selling on this website, too. It can be a wonderful experience, as long as you are cautious. There are many rules associated with buying and selling on eBay, so make sure you are familiar with them. When I buy items, I make sure I am purchasing from a user who has a high feedback score and a decent number of transactions. Selling is trickier, though. Items are only protected by eBay if they include tracking, and missing items (e.g. if the Post Office loses them) are not covered. You will be out the money because the buyer will be issued a refund. So, just be careful and you're sure to have a good buying/selling experience.

Ebay

PUTS MANY ONLINE RETAILERS TO SHAME

Have used Ebay on a regular basis. Ive can say ive always used highly reccomended sellers and i have never experinced any problem that wasnt resolved immediatley. Refunds were made, Items dispatched in good time and condition and any returns and exchanges all done according to the book. Fully satisfied and will continue to use.

no care of sellers at all worst services provided by paypal and ebay

had been Account hold for past three years. excellent seller and buyer record. Early morning open my account recieved funny message need to contact paypal. contacted to paypal first of all paypal customer service treat the customer like a tissue paper. Spoken to them what happened. They responded suspecious activity happened with my account. Asked from them what type of activity they said we can't tell you. secondly my account is linked to six other account what a funnry reason. I had only one account on ebay. " Everybody who is involved in business Should also consider alternative options of ebay and paypal because one day they might open the account and their account is ceased like me for no reason. I can't understand how a professional degree hold can be a scammer ????????????? How three year old customer suddenly change and became threat????? although he haven't got any negative feedback from buyer during his three year span. ??????????????

Ebay

Good for buyers, bad for sellers

I used to use eBay a lot but as the site has become more and more geared towards buyers my usage has tailed off.

Having been messed around by a number of non-paying or mind-changing buyers and then left unable to leave a negative review, I am about ready to give up.

Ebay

Brilliant but Expensive Seller Fees

Brilliant for the buyer, can't fault it for that!

Not so good when it comes to selling, you get screwed by the constant fees they charge you for everything and then screwed again by the PayPal fees at the end!

Ebay

Too many Jokers on here now

Not as good as it used to be,from personal experience the site is going downhill fast and little is done to protect buyers.I find a lot of time wasters you buy something and never receive it as the seller never put a reserve on their item and are not happy to let it go at the price you won it at, but they tell you they have posted it and then happily refund your money which they have had for a week or so hence no item and a wasted experience which is so regular. Also had issues with receiving items not as described and damaged.
These are personal experiences, make your own mind up.

Ebay

Speedy delivery

Have used Ebay.co.uk for some time, and it's always speedy deliveries and low prices that shop in Denmark can't match.

Ebay

Ebay's policy's stink

I have been buying from ebay for sometime now and that has been great i recently decided to start selling and wish i never bothered, items keep getting lost in the post or the buyer has received item but parts of the order are missing when i know for sure everything was present and correct when items were sent out. Ebay policy's are all for the buyer so this give's the buyers a free reign to scam sellers basically saying if you want to buy something and not pay for it all you have to do is say items have not been delivered, put a claim in, get your money back and carry on with life enjoying your free item. For me as a seller their is nothing i can do about it other than take any losses that come my way.

For this reason i think Ebay's policy's stink, fee's are expensive and they are completely out of touch with the sellers and i am sure over time more and more sellers will move to other sites like Ebid which to me is a much better site, fee's are low and you dont get the "i have not received my item mob"

Ebay

You can find anything on eBay!

I have been a member of eBay since "98 and can always find something I want there, little, big, something. I have never had any major problems with eBay, just minor problems. It is a great place to window shop.

Closes the door after the horse has bolted

I am leaving this feedback on my friends account as I know e-bay/paypal will read this.

My account was recently limited by paypal for no apparant reason, and after questioning their offensive e-mail my account was reinstated without any explanation.

During the period of limitation a number of buyers came out of the woodwork stating item not received - what a surprise. All but one was resolved as these went by courier, however the remaining one was sent by good old royal mail.

I replied to the buyer within 20 minutes of her raising the dispute and waited and waited for a response as to whether or not she had finally received the item, with no luck. After a live chat, I was informed that the buyer had 8 days to respond to the e-mail which she failed to do. I rang e-bay's cusomer support team who advised me to escalate the issue to the resolution team to have the case closed as 12 days had now passed with no contact despite me chasing.

Guess what, they closed the case in HER favour and refunded her in full. On appeal and after explaining the situation they advised me that they were going to send her a e-mail asking whether or not she had received the item or not. A bit late, who in the right mind is going to admit that they got the item once e-bay had done a full refund, as it could imply the buyer received items/money freuduently. Furthermore, e-bay will not refund the commission as it was outside the 8 days???

Once again, e-bay has sided with the buyer, even though the buyer did not follow their T&C's. What more can a seller do??????????????????

Ebay

love this site

love this site but some people rip you off with p & p when it's only round the corner,

Ebay

So far so good

I have been for some years buying through Ebay and I must say that -for me, of course- is second to none.

They back up in case of trouble is impressive. Only 3 times I had minor problems and always I've got my money back or a replacement in prefect conditions.

They classification of "Top seller" is like a Holy Book. Normally the sellers did start the refund or replacement as soon as I did complain and their after sales service is impressive.

Ebay

Goes in buyers favour!

Always seem to go in buyers favour even if the buyer did not collect item from the post office! How was that MY fault exactly? He paid, I sent, he decided he did not want to collect so item got returned to me and I had to refund IN FULL inc. the postage I had already paid! UNFAIR SYSTEM!!!!!

Ebay

Perfect

I feel safe when I shop on eBay.

I love ebay, especially when I win an action and save lots of money

Ebay

++++++++++ Love a good buy:))) +++++++++++

I love a good buy. And done lots of them on ebay. Advice u to always check ebay for a rare item or any kind of item, before givin' up. They have almost anything for any kind of marked.
Lookin' forward to future buys:)))
And payin' with Paypal gives u security if u'r items should get lost...

Ebay

Retro Mania

My review is not regarding Ebay - but the shop Retromania - DON'T ever buy from them.
I bought a jacket from them with out using Ebay. due to that fact, I has not been able to review them on ebay, however the contact was made through Ebay. The Barbour Jacket i bought, should have been in good condition, but it was not even close to being usefull - the worst shit ever. I tried to write to the shop, but no respond. Hopefully this review will help others before the waste their money on things from that shop.
