Terrible customer service (all they do is send standard replies which do not answer your question. & you can only ask a question if it is in their questions list!) & very expensive comission. For example, they take 10% on thinks like mobile phones! ( £30 on a £300 phone) Yet they only take £25 on a £10,000 car!

DSR's

If there is one thing that is really getting my goat, it is these stupid DSR's. You have no control over these, and if your "purchaser" has had a bad day, you can lose valuable scores. Not only that, but you then get Ebay sending you emails with advice on how to get better! And of course, you cannot contact them (Ebay) about it, as you just get a rather curt response

Buy Smart!

Everyone likes to bash on Ebay saying that the items are all knock-offs or junks. The trick is: Use Your Brain! Don't order from someone who clearly has negative feedbacks, or sold 1 - 2 items yet brag that they sold millions of products. Do your research! If they sell you a chip for your car that adds 100HP... don't buy it! If you are smart about your shopping, Ebay is one of the BEST places to find things you can't locally. Or even alternative options that are cheaper but still functional. I have had only minor problems with shopping from ebay but everytime I either got a refund or a replacement so I am happy with the service. Ebay DOES protect you! All you have to do when you're in trouble is ASK for help. Ebay will protect their shoppers from scams! Don't try to tough it out and argue with the seller if they are not cooperating. Buy smart and this is one of the best place!

Great business, but calm down with the e-mail

I use ebay weekly and I can't fault it much.

The way they bring people together is incredible - in my respects it is a model online business.

However, they don't get everything right. E-mail is a little to frequent - I don't want to opt out, but then I don't want to receive quite as much (Calm down ebay!) and you'll get the 5th Star

Probably even better than good, but I have not yet had too much experience with EBay. When one of my items failed to appear, they were very good at negotiating with the buyer.

I keep looking at their competitors with a view to trying them out and end up thinking "why bother?" I've been using eBay and Paypal for several years now and found them an extremely safe and rewarding way to buy but also to sell unwanted items, and things that used to go to the dump or get traded in to highstreet stores for next to nothing now often sell for some handy pocket money. I find ebay a safe and reliable place to find and buy many things I need. It is easy to use, the feedback system is a great way to share experiences with others.

A place to sell your junk

Prefer to use other internet companies that dont mislead a valued customer on purchases NB make sure if you get a promo voucher that it is used to its full face value as this can only be used once for one transaction This is not made at all clear and many bidders fall foul unlike other vouchers valid on better internet sites

I find a lot of bad review are about complaining the fact they didn't receive the right products etc. Well I have bought products from eBay for over 3 years and I have only ever encountered one slight mishap, which was shortly resolved. It comes down to the user to look out for the fakes or 'the too good to be true deals', the actual website is great and a great place to buy items, hence the 5 star rating.

Terrible customer support, full of bugs

Account got suspended because for some reason I don't look like a business model that ebay want me to look at ? wtf prejudice much???

When I listed all the items, and they were pulled back by ebay, it costed money to list some of the items, well the money I was still charged for listing items, even though my items got pulled out .. THIEFS...

Another case is being suspended indefinitely, because my ID which I sent them for proof had the old address instead of the new address which was registered with the ebay.. They said I pose the risk and my ID doesn't match.

No common sense whatsoever for whoever makes their policies, should have taken a OBVIOUS COMMON SENSE BUllet in the FOREHEAD.

I boycott ebay , and over 1000 people that I know do as well, thanks to my horrible stories with ebay.
