The online deals are always way much cheaper that the pay at the gate price. Due to my work commitments we are using this service on a regular basis. The only thing that I would have a grump about, is the automatic number plate recognition camera at the barrier on entry, it doesn't always recognise my plate!!!!. This has happened to me a few times now, which means I have to go to the office on my return to get the ticket validated. Fix this out, and I'm happy...
Good regular service, pleasant helpful drivers, but now they have moved the stop the other side of the multi storey car park, it is probably not worth paying the 'on site' premium, you might as well us an off-site provider
Very easy to book, although check all prices as you are sometimes offered discounts after selecting book now against long stay to get better price on Short stay compared to original prices given.
Prefer short stay - good to be able to walk out of airport and straight to car and exit, without having to get bus to long stay. Pre pay does save standing in queues at ticket machines in cold and rain.
Parking was close to the airport and handy when you are coming back off a late evening flight as I was and dont want to have to catch a bus out to find the car first.
Signage to find the entrance could be a little better - I ended up in the drop off zone and had to pay to exit this to be able to circulate round and find the correct entry point
This is the second time this year I have used the long term parking and in both occasion, my car registration of SO 55 ZTL has been read as SD 55 ZTL. I am getting used to having to buzz in to quote by reference number and get the gate lifted. Hence, you need to address this glitch in the camera recognition of the licence place. I am reconciled that when I use it again next year, I will face the same problem.
Good regular service as always but expect to have to end up walking half the way as the bus now deposits you at the back of the multi storey car park - any person with a walking disability is going to have issues trying to get into the airport arrivals. Considering the price we spend for parking a car this service is becoming unacceptable. This needs to drop people back outside the airport building again to be really useful
We chose on site airport parking after a bad experience of parking off site on a previous occasion (not Edinburgh). The booking was done easily on line, the fee was competitive and reasonable. The only thing I would fault was the lack of signs telling us where we had to go to wait for the bus transporting us to the actual airport. I went one way and my husband went the other each of us thinking we were going in the right direction it was very dark and neither of us knew where we were supposed to be heading!!!! We ended up chasing a bus that appeared which thankfully stopped. We got on and said "good morning" and added "we were glad to have seen him"... no response :( he just stared right through us . Overall now that we know what to do we will definately use the service again, but it could be greatly improved by clear airport signs especially for first time Edinburgh Airport users :)
The pick up point for the bus has now been placed further from the treminal, other buses seem to continue past the main entrance and exit so why has the car park bus moved. On returning to the car park i stood up to get off and the bus didn't stop. On asking the driver why he didn't stop he said i didn't ring the bell....
The price seems to get less and less competative each time i park.
The booking system is easy to use and there are plenty of offers on line.
The auto readers read your number on arrival and as a frequent user over the last year i always get a spot near the terminal. The one time that i was double charged for parking the error was recognised within a day or 2 any the issue sorted out to my satisfaction.
The only issue i have is with the tick box that says remember my details, this never works.
The parking was excellent right near the terminal and at a very acceptable price which makes parking cheaper than having relatives make double journeys to take me and pick me up it wAs very simple just jump in the car and drive to the exit barrier and you're on your way easy and convenient
Stayed in the Terminal Outdoor parking, paid at time of booking. Everything went completely smooth. Ticket machine scanned my car's reg plate on entering and then again on leaving, linked it to my reservation and I didn't have to do ANYTHING else - no validating my ticket, nothing. Will be definitely using this again.
The bus service is now third rate. You have to walk all the way through a car park filled with exhaust fumes to get to the bus stance. You almost walk half the way to the long term car park making the bus journey almost a waste of time. No consultation about the move of stance and no price reduction given the third rate service it now provides.
I still find the new luggage check in system frustrating. It is not obvious how to attach the label to my luggage - sounds ridiculaous but the label needs better labels so it is easier to use. The fact that I no longer see a member of airline staff is also an irritant - I usually fly with Flybe and I have one of their lounge cards. That means I need to ask a Flybe staff member for the weekly code but I no longer see a member of Flyve staff. Flybe's response is that I should go to departures and talk to the ticket desk (this means going to departures and queuing up), As the lounge is often unstaffed the new system makes it more difficult for regular travellers like me.
So I think this aspect needs more work.
Parking and FastTrack were great.
Excellent price for a really handy spot very close to terminal. Frustrated every time though by signage, keep right! Sign posting is awful and it doesn't say short stay car park anywhere, def needs improving.......but once you know....really good.
At least the exit from the car park has been fixed - a couple of times the barrier has requested additional full price payment even though we had paid for the discounted amount. However, the bus from the car park now drops passengers off on the far side of the multi-storey car park meaning you have another 2-3 minutes walk rather than just walking into the terminal as before. Some of that walk is uncovered but most is you actually walking through the ground floor of the car park itself! Also, the signage in the car park is very confusing. There have clearly been changes made to the layout but old signs and road markings still exist. However, it a good price if booked in advance.
Convenient and close to terminal but black cab parking caused queues on exit
If, like on some Alfa Romeo models, your number plate is not center or right the number plate recognition will never work. Don't bother changing lanes or retrying, just press the call button for assistance. Generally very helpful service. Otherwise not much more than would expect, very close to terminal, easy to find and to exit.
Parking directions were very clear on approach to the airport terminal.
Parking was easy, staff were polite and informative with a minimum of fuss.
On return car was waiting and again everything was smooth and fuss free.
I would recommend this service without reservation and will use them again.
this was definitely the best airport parking I've ever booked, we managed to upgrade to terminal parking for only an additional £6, so was really cheap, easy to book, great assistance on site and great on your return, just walk to the car, no need to wait on buses etc
I like the booking system but wish:
1. There was the facility to remember my details, and
2 The system provided a ticket which is easier for the Fast Track staff to read on a smartphone.
Booking my airport parking was so easy and it was not expensive, my flight was delayed 2 hours and I was able to go online and extend my time without being charged extra. Parking area is close to the terminal building which is great as I arrived on my own and didn't have to walk far to collect my car. 😊
Closest you can get to the airport without actually taking the car on the runway! Easily the easiest airport parking experience I've had. Booked in advance so cheaper than a taxi. Car no plate was mis-read on entry but sorted out with a quick visit to the people on site and then instantly at the checkout
I used the service for the first time in mid November 2013 and found it easy to book, competitively priced and my car was safely parked.
I left the car at the booth, it was parked by the attendant and then it was ready and waiting for me on my return.
I would use again in future without hesitation.
good hassle free experience
I prepaid my booking at Edinburgh Airport some weeks before, the signposting on entry could have been better, however, on exiting, the display displayed that I was due £87. 00. I had to find a staff member to find instructions on how to leave the car park.
this carpark is not well signposted at all. There is no sign at the last roundabout by the Hilton so I entered the airport and ended up in the drop off area where I had to pay £1 to get out straight away to try again to find the carpark. As there was no sign I lost time finding it going towards the Hotel and by chance found it . You need to put a signup at the roundabout before where it is at the moment. Drivers need to know to turn right and not go into the airport.. By the way I would like to be reimbursed for my £1 I had to spend unnecessarily. Thanks you
ps. in all European airports you can park for 30 minutes free of charge. Edinburgh doesn't do anything to welcome tourist or to facilitate travellers.
