I'm a new user and have found the service much easier to navigate and utilise. Support have been there for me 100% of the way so far and I really feel I have a better provision for the future now.
So far, so good.
I've tried setting up a personal website through another company where I received no help what so ever. The only method of contacting he previous company was through online support which is useless.
After I transferred to ekmpowershop I couldn't believe the difference in treatment and support I was receiving. The web editor is easy and great fun to use. The webpage ends up looking unbelievably professional and the support you receive is phenomenal. Great team and great guidance! Love my ekm powershop!!

After looking at many different ecommerce site providers and reading numerous reviews (both good and bad) I was feeling completely confused about who would be the best provider for my ecommerce requirements. I found EKM and liked the look of the templates they had on offer and also the end results for some of their exisitng clients.
I still wasn't sure though so decided to email a couple of people who had put reviews on trustpilot to see how they were finding things with EKM months/years down the line and all came back positive.
I took their free trial and played about for a couple of weeks to see whether I could get on with the templates and it was great. I found them easy to use with great end results. I also found that the members of the team that I spoke to were very helpful and willing to answer any and all questions I had. I took the plunge and have now launched my site. I managed to put it all together myself with only a small amount of help required from their support team.
All in all I am thrilled with the outcome and look forward to many years trading with EKM. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of opening a webshop!

Their interface is full of bugs! Their servers are slow. The customer support is dreadful. Altering anything on your site is hard. I left them for Blue Park....how easy to use and no problems. EKM might be cheap...what it delivers is also very cheap and shoddy .
They will charge £25 to write a few lines of code for you. Blue Park do it for free..not that you will need code written. It is SO much easier to use.
Take a look at the EKM and Blue Park forums and you will see what I mean.
The price you pay for the service and diversity of add ons is really good. My account manager Gemma Caparelli has made every effort to make sure my business is up and running. If I was confused all need extra help they got back to me quickly to help resolve any issues. I would recommend this company as good way to start your online business.

I decided to use ekm to grow my off-marketplace business. Initially I thought it to be a reasonable system, easy to start using etc. However its when I really needed it to do certain e-commerce standard things that it fell down. At the time, the API was not opened up, so I could not control it with my inventory management software, thus meaning I had to manually adjust (definitely unacceptable).
They charge for the web stats (£5 a month ) from memory - and what a let down. To say its basic was an understatement.
Not that this affected me as I am vat registered, but price was advertised as £19.99 a month, but was + vat (annoying for companies who are under the vat threshold).
When I closed the account, I had pre-paid until the end of the month, but they just shut it down altogether, with no access to customer orders (this was not explained). When I asked for access, they said I would have to pay again. Their mood/attitude towards me once I cancelled was of utter contempt.
I asked for a code to transfer my URL, and I got this ok, but a few months after I noticed they had again charged me for hosting the URL. I had to call them and request this to be refunded.
I don't trust they are able to competently provided a positive customer experience (especially if you ask them to close it down). The system is ok for people playing at ecommerce, and if all their inventory is just located there....but at that price there are MUCH better systems out there - such as Big Commerce; epages.

We signed up with EKM a year ago and within a few months we were at the top of Google natural listings for our keyword, Hawaiian Fancy Dress. It was easy to set up, with plenty of templates to choose from which are easy to tailor to your liking. It's easy to add a number of payment options and simple in every way to get started. So easy that we have set up another site with them this year.
We can only praise the service we have had from Martin in sales and as for customer service, we've not needed to use them.
This is a great system for the money and is very good value at only £19.99 a month. We spend nearly double that amount hosting our original stand alone website.

I am disguised with ekmpowershops customer service, I joined a month ago and tried to link my domain with my newly designed shop. There was a problem with the transfer of the domain and it has been dealt with terribly. As a result I have been without emails or a website which potentially has cost me thousands. I have called time and time again and been palmed off with false promises to fix the issue within the hour. I have not been updated once on the progress of the issue and they will not put any timescale to fix the problem in writing however they are happy to lie to me over the phone about how long it will take. I asked to speak to a manager who refused with the excuse of being busy even though support staff regular put me on hold to speak to their manager themselves. I have to wait 15 minutes on average just to get through to support however if you wish to talk to sales you can reach then in less than a minute. The development team refuse to speak to customers and don't seem to have a clue what they are doing. I understand problems arise with websites however the way ekmpowershop have dealt with me is disguising.
just starting the company out not gone live yet but plan too by the end of the week. creating a site called secret temptations for adult goods and lingerie, now I know next to nothing about html so needed a simple to use guide to creating the website and this site is perfect for that and the customer service is second to none too great help and information. definitely recommend using this site
I spent absolutely ages on the internet trying to decide which company to go with for my ecommerce needs. Having spent thousands on having a customised website built for my last online business when I lived in New Zealand, I needed a very cost effective solution this time around. I also felt that things had moved on considerably in the last few years and there were now some really good templates available, so there wasn't the need to spend so much money!
The hardest thing was trying to decide which company to go with. There seemed to be a number of options and I narrowed it down to ekmpowershop and one other to try out for a trial.
It had a really good chat with one of the sales people first and he pointed me straight in the direction of the most suitable template for my shop. I started having a 'play' with it and found it much easier and more intuitive to use than the other company whose template I was also trialling. I quickly gave up on the other one and got focused on building my website with ekmpowershop.
Gemma was brilliantly helpful with the regular tutorials that were booked in with my over the phone (and she always rang bang on time for our booked appointments). I have a marketing background but not a technical one, and was really relieved to see how easy everything was. Any small queries I had were quickly dealt with by Gemma or one of the technical team who would always get back to me that day with an answer.
Having had a logo designed for my new business, it was dead easy to just load in the pantone colour codes to the website and it was applied at the click of the button. I found it so easy to upload the images, content etc and a simple bit of research that I did made it easy to figure out what key words I should be adding.
I was also delighted at how easy it was to add the payment gateway processing stuff - that looked like it could have been a nightmare of complexity, but everything is preloaded into the website so after you have cut and pasted in the code stuff from Paypal, it just seems to configure it all on your website without any further input from a non techie like me.
I will be 'launching' my site later this week and feel really proud of how it looks. Best of all I can't believe that is cost me nothing apart from £110 on some stock photography I bought for my banners and the ongoing hosting fee. I have a couple of friends who have shelled out thousands on their new websites and they don't look nearly as good as mine - how smug do I feel :-) !!
So - hopefully everything will continue to go smoothly, but I have to say that so far, I am a really happy customer!

Sorry to put a downer on all the positive reviews ekmpowershop are getting but i actually gave up with my shop after signing up with them as I just couldn't get what i wanted out of the software. For the money it was a good investment and i had an idea of how i wanted my website to look. It is falsely advertised that there is no coding experience required, so in 2010 i stupidly signed up with them.
After picking a template I wanted to make some small changes but was unable to because I don't know HTML. I never realised I would need to know coding because its advertised as "easy to use" and "no coding knowledge required". A friend of mine new a bit about HTML and was willing to help me, but unfortunately let me down, so i just done my best and it didnt last long. The frustration with trying to learn HTML code got the best of me and i gave up, why advertise falsely? All i wanted was to be able to design a shop without having to pay extra and even when i phoned them for advice all they wanted was money for them to help me. So I've decided to give the shop another go and have signed up with another company called speeda who are brilliant.
My advice is if want to start a shop and don't have experience or the time to learn coding language then don't get suckered into signing up with ekmpowershop. Goto their free demo and try changing the shop template to your taste, its impossible if you don't know HTML. So basically its not for beginners and a huge waste of time for me, which is why I give it 2 stars.

I decided to give EKM a go after looking at all the other online shop soft wear, the reason I chose it was because of its simplicity, I have been using it a week and I have been nothing but impressed at how it all works, what you get for your money and most importantly the level of customer service you get. The team are so helpful and so patient, excellent explanations are given at every point and I don't feel like I am on my own ever. I have no experience of building an online shop and using EMK has helped me learn new skills as well as being fun and creative and I know I have always got some one at the end of the line to help as well as constant emails being sent to me giving me guidance. I really feel this week that I have finally found a company and its staff who are a pleasure to work with, put me as the customer first as well as be there to support when needed. I arrange appointments for tutorials and I was telephoned on time and never ever rushed though, Kieran Ryan has given me the support I needed in a professional and brilliant manner. There are so many companies to choose from but EMK and their staff really do deserve to succeed as they are just so that good and I am a very happy customer. Well done everyone at EKM you really do deserve the credit.
If you pay these guys by card and then try to change your payment details their "systems" can't do this simple task apparently. Ridiculous! For 2 months now I have tried to do this as they keep debiting a card I do not want debited. They admit this is a major systems issue with them and said they'd sort it and remove my card details. This was over a month ago. Today what do I find? ANOTHER DEBIT TO THE CARD I TOLD THEM TO REMOVE AND CLEARLY TOLD THEM THEY DON'T HAVE MY AUTHORITY TO DEBIT!!!! I will be contacting my card issuer to report FRAUD. Pathetic and let's you down BADLY!!!!! I don't understand a business that claims to be at the cutting edge of ecommerce can't even do a simple task of changing its customers card payment details! What does it matter as long as you still get payments though, eh?!

This company have been so helpful and quick to respond. They talk you through everything and are so re-assuring. I would recommend them to anyone starting an e-commerce website. The support team really know their stuff and I can't thank them enough. It has made my new venture exciting rather than daunting.
After paying quite a lot of money for a designed site that is very complex to update it was wonderful to find this company. The templates are really great and have a lot more features than other companies offer for a free design. It is very user friendly and they have a help desk and even offer free tutorials to help you get started. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you need to design a store.
What can I say?....As an experienced website designer and marketer I have no problem building sites but a client needed an eCommerce site with shopping cart etc so I was stuck.
I spent days looking around and eventually found these guys and wow....support was super and the young lady Gemma was so understanding and supportive I felt I need to say so.
Even though I know my way around website construction there were a lot of gaps in my knowledge when it came to the eCommerce side but she was so patient and helpful.

Since joining EKM Powershop as a new and very inexperienced person to all things ecommerce I have to say that I have been looked after at every stage and Im confident that I will continue to be. No question has been unanswered and all answers and explanations have been provided with clear detail and thought so that even a novice like myself can understand and take action accordingly. Ive built up a fantastic relationship with my account handler Gemma what a lovely girl she should be highly commended for her positive and helpful attitude, I never feel like Im talking to a stranger on the phone she feels like a friend now. Im yet to ask her something she has been unable to answer or help with they really are the experts.
I was looking to the internet to generate a second income for my family in the difficult economic times that we are now facing and I couldnt have gone to a better place. I find the platform user friendly and easy to navigate. My shop has really developed in the course of the last 8weeks and I cant wait to launch. Ive been planning properly for my launch and with the help of Phil in the SEO team who has started supporting me to take the next steps Im again confident that my positive experience will continue.
I know that people are quick to give negative reviews but I always feel its important to give praise and credit where its due and my experience has been one that I will be raving about and telling my friends for years to come. As I still have many more steps along my ecommerce journey I will continue to give feedback whether its positive or negative but to be fair for the low start up costs Ive had to pay I just cant imagine that my expectations wont be met. I've been using ekmpowershop since 2006 and never had a problem with customer support getting back to me. Only once has an issue been unresolved but it is still ongoing.
The software is easy to use & has all the features for my needs but I understand some other users have left as they believe the software is not for them due to lack of features.
I did have a custom website designed by ekm for my store but it looked more like a custom template - but when I asked for alterations to be done they did what I asked. I still feel it was an expensive template redesign rather than a custom website (as described on their design site) but I am happy with the final result.
Overall I'm happy with ekmpowershop.
Update: I have now left EKM for pastures new. They have added some new features but I couldn't add them on my EKM site because it was a custom design. I needed to know html and where to correctly place the EKM tags on my site and I felt that EKM support didn't really want to help me.
Another reason for leaving was the system kept throwing up soft 404 urls that seemed to have been randomly created? When I spoke to support about this they said they were looking into it but some weeks later still no response.
So with this and the fact that I couldn't use their new features on my custom site unless I knew how to use the html ekm tags correctly, I felt I had to leave.
I have been a customer with EKM since 2009. I find the system easy to use, you can make your website look very professional which all makes for good sales, which is what everybody wants!. A great plus point is the price, very competitive and no hassle billing. I find the EKM forum very useful, people are helpful and the EKM staff make a big effort to respond to threads/needs of help even out of office hours. So, in the event of an issue you don't need to worry.The staff are friendly and helpful. My only one little critic would be the live chat which has recently been taken away. I found this to be useful on the small occasions I needed help. Overall, I can highly recommend EKM powershop and have done so to many people
I have never ever built a website, or e-commerce site. I needed a site for my growing small business where I have control, and flexibility. I stumbled upon EKM totally by accident, and what a find it was.
I have been very fortunate to speak with staff who have always been friendly, helpful and professional. I even trashed my site twice during the building stage, which was quickly restored and no loss of downtime. I discovered the "Free Trial" quite late in the game, and it is brilliant, you can mess around with the templates and tweak what you need, before you apply it to your own site. Yes, I even managed to learn a miniscule amount of HTML coding, and was able to resolve what I needed. No HTML knowledge is required to get you going, as they have some brilliant templates to choose from.
You don't realise how much work goes into building your own site or "powershop", but even I with my limited skills have achieved this - and at such a low cost per month.

Can't speak too highly of EKM Powershop. I needed to set up two websites for two businesses we own. Setting them up was simplicity itself. Everything is very clear and very user friendly. I have had phone calls to check everything was OK and to provide a tutorial. I also have the option to attend a webinar, which I will do, just to see if I am missing anything really. I needed some help with adding photos to the Home Page of one template. Gemma Caparelli could not have been more helpful. She gave advice and added the photos for me. She provided absolutely 5 star customer service. I'm really happy to be with EKM.
Having spent 2 weeks trying to set up an e-commerce site with a competitor and getting nowhere fast a friend told me about ekmpowershop and all I can say is I LOVE IT!!!
It is so simple to use and within a week I had my first sale. Their SEO Healthcheck was great and this has been a real boost for sales and taught me how to look after my website on an ongoing basis.

I have been with EKM for a few months, developing my site, its about to launch this month, their customer service is amazing! I sent an email, an automated response told me an approximate waiting time until an advisor could answer my questions. Within one hour EKM had removed their branding from my shop which i asked them to do (so surprised they were openly willing to do that, and for FREE! Most companies are keen to keep the advertising but the EKM reputation is too good) I recommended to a friend and he signed up instantly and is loving it too! Strongly Advise! There really are no limits!!
I've been with EKMpowershop now for about three months and was a little worried when the live chat facility was removed in favour of emailing or telephone, however, I have always received a reponse to any email queries I've had within the hour (thank you Jaxey Lewis for the most recent resolution) so no complaints from me!
EKMpowershop have excellent customer service-i signed up to have an on-line store with them and within 24 hours id had a welcome email offering help, a personal phone call, and an invite to a webinar!
-every time i have a question-no matter how small ( i feel like some of my questions must seem ridiculous) i have a swift reply within hours, in simple terms i can understand with an invite to ask more questions if needed.
After setting up my shop i had another phone call checking that i was doing ok and understood everything.
The layout of the website and tools for managing your shop are simple and easy to use-with lots of help at hand.
you can even have aplay around in a shop FOR FREE to decide which template you like BEFORE buying-this is valueble as i spend a coupld of hours finalising what kind of design i would like before i even had to sign up!
The templates available is very high quality and variable so there is something for everyone and you can change all elements to suit your site.
The webinars can be booked at a time to suit you as well as the phone calls-they really fit in around you! and the webinars are often enough that if you decided to go it alone in the beginning you can still join a webinar a little later if you started to struggle.
I cannot speak highly enough of them and i would recommend them to both new and old on-line shop owners.
you wont be disappointed with EKM a real credit to on-line shop services!

I used ekm powershop for about 6 months and have to say in my entire time with ekm I was insulted by the staff. Frequently lied to over problems with my website. They would tell me the problem was only on my computer yet i would have customers ringing me up.
You cannot access their forum until you join. The reason for this is because you will see a lot of dusgruntled customers on there. Not all as most have been banned from the forum because EKM dont want to deal with them. Beware of what you read. I would check out some online retail forums or online business forums and find the general view on ekm before you ever sign up.
On the whole I would not even send my worst enemy to ekm at all. Don't even get me started on the fact that nothing actually works as it should on there.

I initally chose EKM powershop to host my online shop as the price seemed attractive at first. Unfortunately I should have realised that with a low price comes a cost. The customer service that the company provided was of a very poor standard. I had commissioned them to do a custom design for my shop which didnt go very smoothly. The company give you 35 days from start to finish for the project, the first week was completely wasted due to emails that they had apparently sent me not arriving. I had asked if the first week would not count towards the number of days that the project had to run, and was told that they in fact would do even though I had received nothing from them in the first week. So the first week was a complete loss and waste of time. Then after that I received late emails, slow replies to emails, emails being sent at the end of the working day so there was no time to reply.
As part of the design I was to have had 4 banner images created, s far I have only received 1 image which came as part of the design when put in place, I sent off an email asking for a further two banner images and what was to be done with them and never heard anything further back.
I have still not heard anything back regarding these and am very doubtful they will ever arrive.
The only quick part about this whole process was how fast they were able to take my payment.
In my personal opinion, and after the poor service I received , I cannot recommend this company.
I have moved my shop over to another provider, and happy to say the service received has been excellent.
With an EKM powershop anybody can run an online shop.
For only £20 per month you get a product that would otherwise take months to build and probably cost you tens of thousands of pounds to develop.
With great backup and constant development your site is always state of the art.
Please keep up the good work!
If you need an online shop that you want to set up yourself that has a professional look at affordable prices this has to be your choice. On top of this are so many features within the shop it is great. The support from EKM is second fantastic. I am really pleased with my shop and the feedback my customers give me tells me i made the right choice.
I would certainly recommend them.

I have been with EKM since 2006 and very happy with the service and experience I have had with them.
I started with the website using one of the templates in 2006 and couldnt believe how easy it was. The support was and still is fantastic and was very easy to upload and modify to your required setings.Over the years, lots of new features and templates have been added and there are lots to choose from to enhance and customise your site.
As an online retailer setting up the payment and checkout was very simple and easy with many ways to set up and accept payments on the site. You can also modify your site at any time without any extra charge, just simply log in and away you go.
For anyone starting up a website EKM is perfect as it is so user friendly and cheap to run. The customer support is brilliant and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
I had an eCommerce site with Actinic Express for several years. I was advised by them that they would be stopping that product and was persuaded to change to a new Actinic Online web site at £18 a month. I have almost 1000 products and spent almost a week getting the web site up and running when I was told that the price would in fact be £56 a year! I then decided to get an eCommerce site with my domain provider UK2. Once more I spent almost a week setting up the new site only to discover that it was impossible to set up air mail deliveries by weight unless I did every country in the world on an individual basis. I abandoned that site.
Finally, thank goodness I found EKMpowershop. The staff were incredibly helpful in helping to set the website up AND transfer all my products from my exisiting site. The whole thing was completed and went live within 24 hours. Congratulations EKM and thank you, I hope to be with you for many years to come.

I found EKM after my previous e-commerce provider proved themselves unable to fix simple issues with their website, or even answer the phone in a polite and effective manner.
EKM have gone above and beyond the call of duty in assisting me when transferring my website to them, they have patiently answered every question that I have had.
Mark in particular has been outstanding, and it would be tempting to assume that it was just him, however every single person on the other end of the phone has been courteous, messages have been passed on and phone calls returned.
I was not treated like a novice with no experience, which can be insulting, having said that, I would hardly describe myself as a technical wizard either, and the answers to simple questions were given efficiently and without frustration.
One of the major bonuses I have found with EKM is that there is someone there more than just Monday to Friday 9-5. The live help is very effective and promptly answered, and I haven't yet asked a question where the answer was 'You can't do that' or 'I don't know how to do that...'
I guess time will tell how good EKM are long term, but at present I cannot rate them highly enough.

I have been trying to get an all singing all dancing ecommerce website built by professional developers for a year now and still it does not have the functionality that I have with the EKM Powershop from 1 weeks work!
I think for a basic template website it is brilliant and looks very professional just be prepared to compromise a little on design/layout although I gather they can change things for a small fee. If you are selling a small amount of products you can't go far wrong.

I have been with EKM for a little over a month, and I am really pleased with the service and all the support I have been given. I am a complete novice when it comes to website buliding, and I was looking for something that was cheap to run but also provided me with templates that could be tweeked and changed to suit. EKM powershop provided this.
I was given a welcome call at a booked slot, which was really good as Gemma went through all the basics and answered all of my endless questions. She also helped, made suggestions with some great design ideas.
I then started to build the website, and if I am honest, I had no idea the amount of work involved in creating a website, and I would have litle questions, I sent emails and got a quick response. Gemma had booked me in for other appointments, to talk through the stages, which meant I could progress really quite quickly with the development of the site.
(the reason why it wasn't super quick is because I have a full time job, three children and I work nights and days and anywhere in between!!)
I have also had a number of conversations with Andrew and he has some great ideas too, easy to contact as well.
I am really pleased with the service that I recieve from EKM especially on the support side, I never expected that ! Just someone to answer all those "daft" questions that I have.
However, if you are looking for someone to design, programme, create your website then EKM is not for you, because you have to do the work yourself, but what you end up with is a website that looks great, is bespoke and easily changeable, with a great support network to help you along the way.

I have just read some of the previous negative reviews on here and feel that we need to cut through some of the nonsense on this one......
Our company has several Powershops with EKM, and they offer excellent value for money. The service and quality of shopping cart software has always been good and we have never experienced problems with customers completing orders (which I feel is an extremely important factor), or any other technical issues which have impacted sales.
I honestly think some people are deluded!! We pay £20 per month for these websites, and they make us a small fortune!! If you want perfection, get a tailor made website for £10K, and even then, I doubt you'll get all that you expect.
With my rant out of the way, I feel EKM offer excellent value for money and I would recommend them to anyone.
If you are considering having an e-commerce site produced, and you have a good product at a competitive price, you can't fail to make money using EKM.
Mark in sales, is a good contact and useful to speak to if you want a site building..... he's ex-technical department, so really knows his stuff.

I’ve been with ekm for a while now, and have to admit that mixed reviews got me thinking if I made the right decision. Seemed to be more bad than good so I took a punt on them.
12 months on and I’ve been astonished that first of all a novice like me can actually put together an ecommerce site that actually looks the part!! I demoed a few other systems which were as cheap as powers shop and the result was awful, you get what you pay for was my gut feeling.
The odd time I’ve needed help I got through to a real person and they were very helpful, straight forward and straight talking (no jargon!!!).
As things pick up we will see how we go with ekm, seems people do outgrow them from what I can fathom, but so far so good for me!

EKM started out easy to use for a complete novice like myself. But over the past 2 years the site has gotten slower and slower with my shop disappearing completely off the servers a number of times - all I can say is thank God I had everything (product wise) backed up on my HDD. This meant that for three entire week-ends my shop was non-existant and cost me a fortune in sales.Fair do to EKM Jason came in on an off day and re-installed. He is the only chap in EKM that is helpful and as everyone says the rest should go back to school.
Pictures seem to vanish willy-nilly from my website not to mention the fact that EKM's systems cannot handle numeric and alpha-numeric product codes at the same time. If you do load them then their system deletes the aplha numeric codes - a bug they cant fix.
Ihave become so disillusioned with EKM that I am almost ready to move my shop elswhere as I have more control over every aspect of my shop from my google shopping categories (EKM only provide the basic categories) to delivery systems that work.
EKM sorry to say but if Anthony was even interested in saving his company I think you have a long long way to go before your company is as good as your self posturing tricks people into believing.
