fantastic service from start to finish

I am so impressed with the service. I placed an online order very late on the wednesday night, thursday morning before 10am i had a call asking whether i would like my delivery the next day! Fantastic - as the next day was actually Good Friday which meant we had a long weekend to erect all our fencing and new gate. Delivery chap was very friendly. all in all, great value (we searched for weeks for the best price) great products, and great service.

Good value shed, delivered in good time, delivery guys left it where I wanted and it was easy to put together. Very pleased

Not good. Avoid

Elbec took my money in a flash, sent the order to Shire to fulfill. A damaged shed turned up and was collected after I cancelled the order (replacement parts would have taken too long to arrive). Two weeks after collection, and several prods later, I had to go to my credit card for a refund. Avoid Elbec

Thank you for your review. Payment is taken on order as with most retail businesses. We are a retailer for Shire as well as a number of other companies and we use our manufacturers to distribute direct to our customers.

Unfortunately in your case the building arrived damaged and we apologise for this.

The damage was reported on 23 April and you cancelled on 24 April, as you decided the parts would take longer than you would like to get to you.

The building was collected from you on 30 April. Our policy to refund is governed by the distance trading regulations which say you must refund within 30 days at the latest.

We usually refund a customer within 7 days and as outlined in our terms and conditions a customer will be refunded once we have confirmation from our carrier that they have collected a building and it is back with us.

You were actually refunded by elbec on 13 May.

This is outside our usual timescale from collection for which we apologise, although well within that set by the distance trading regulations of 30 days.

We take your comments seriously; someone at elbec is now in trouble for disappointing a customer. Once again we apologise that your experience with elbec was not of that expected by elbec.

Excellent service start to finish!

From first contacting elbec to place my order it got off to a reassuring start, the lady was efficient and very helpful.

I got everything I asked for delivered when expected with minimum fuss.

The gents that erected my lovely new shed did a first rate job.

I am extremely pleased with my 10 x 7, two windowed addition to the garden. It looks great.

I Love Sheds - but Mind Your Head

If you are looking for a cheap 2 door storage shed then I can recommend the Elbec 6 x 4 shed. All the parts fitted together quite painlessly (but you need a Husband who knows what he is doing!!) All the components eg, floor (which we had to 'Beef up'), roof and wall thickness, hasp, bolts etc. were smaller than a larger shed - but then you get what you pay for. (One tip if you are over 5'6" tall MIND YOU HEAD (Hubby got a couple of hefty wacks!!)

quality ok for the price i paid

Not the best constructed shed but at least i only paid galf price for it. if it had been full price it wouldnt be good value. The transport arrangements were poor and lots of hassle when they didnt follow their own process.

Shed delivered and installed on time and efficiently

The 4 x 6 shed we ordered was delivered on time and installed on the spot we specified within 45 minutes. We are very pleased with it.

Top Service, Fast Delivery, Great Shed.

Excellent shed at a great price. Found the same shed online at a number of retailers for significantly more money. Delivery was available a lot quicker than quoted, only downside was for my area the supplier could only deliver on a tuesday although this is probably down to the Shed manufacturer rather than elbec. Delivered promptly, even brought it into my garden at the rear of the property. Shed quality was on the most part excellent, slight let down was the quality of roofing felt, really poor grade and a lot of it was torn. However I have not reported this to elbec as I had some spare in the house already, so to be fair I didnt give them opportunity to correct this.

Overall really happy with the service, price, quality of product and speed of delivery. I would happily recommend Elbec and in the future look to them first when requiring a new shed etc.

If the wind dont blow you will keep your ROOFING FELT

REALLY PLEASED WITH THE GENERAL PRODUCT ,DEAD EASY TO PUT TOGETHER NO PROBS EVEN DOING IT ON MY OWN . I PHONED THE FIRM REFERRING TO THE SIZE OF THE ROOFING NAILS THEY SENT [ 7mm ] AS THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET STATED 14 mm . ACTING ON THE ADVICE GIVEN I PROCEEDED TO CONTINUE .BIG TROUBLE THE WIND GOT UP THE NEXT DAY AND THE WHOLE TOP SECTION BLOW OFF TAKING ALL THE 7mm nails WITH IT ! SO I ENDED UP GOING TO WICKS AND BROUGHT SHED ROOFING FELT AND A PACKET OF 14mm ROOFING NAILS !!!!!! PROBLEM SOLVED ALSO WITH A COATING OF ROOFING FELT ADHESIVE ?????????

Ordered a 6x6 Baron Grandale metal shed from eBay. Was expecting to wait in all day for delivery, as usual, but the driver delivered the evening before! Lucky we were in I suppose but fantastic service. Great item at a great price... and it was great fun putting it together, although my advice is make sure you have at least one friend around who can hold or pass you things because you will run out of hands!! I'd use this company again without hesitation.

Top Value Shed - Fit for purpose

I was after a budget shed to store garden toys and tools in, this came up as the best value for money. Good design, quick and easy to build - no frills, no mess.

Arbour is just what we wanted. Prompt delivery. Looks great in our garden.

The smartest pergola in the street.

We bought the corner pergola, with a wide front, narrow back and fan-style roof bars. It came when they said it would, and was all present and correct except that the instruction leaflet was saturated, even though in a plastic bag. We managed to peel it open but the printing had run into very faint green and black splodges. Luckily we could see how it went together from the picture we had printed from the on-line catalogue. We wanted to adjust the angle slightly anyway as our garden's corner is not a right-angle - it was easy to cut down on the dimensions across the front and make an 80-degree pergola. The pergola is even stronger and chunkier than we realised from the on-line catalogue picture - we were a little worried that it might be over-the-top when we saw (and felt) the size of the bars. But erected it looks fine and strong and very smart - the envy of all our neighbours. We are very pleased with it.

The green house arrived the day elbec told me it would Driver very helpful rang about an hour before he arrived ,we have a long path to walk up he was happy to do it Instructions are written by some who knows what they are doing more close up pictures are needed very helpful on the phone

Exceptional Quality at an Exceptional Price

We are extremely pleased with the Garden Arbour and the finished assembled product is really lovely. Our order was dealt with efficiently, delivered on time and no parts missing. Although we did not assemble it ourselves, apparently the instructions were very clear and took less time than originally envisaged. Would definitely recommend this company.

Good quality, Best price

We searched the internet for the best overall deal and found elbec to offer the best price delivered. The fencing and gate we purchased were of good quality and as they are pressure treated we hope they will last for a good few years. Only time will tell but we would purchase from this company again.

Better than expected, excellent VFM

I found just what I wanted on the elbec website and it was at a great price. I've always fancied an arbour for the garden to grow roses and clematis on and have as a relaxing space just for me. It's a really substantial structure, not flimsy at all, with good, solid supports and panels so it will really last. I gave the arbour two coats of coloured preservative and now I'm waiting for a dry weekend to get it put together, then I'll give it a final coat of preservative, get my cushions and open a bottle of wine!

Good structure but terrible instructions

The packs arrived on time and well packed. All of the pieces were clearly labelled and the boxes were smaller than expected. We had to buy a kit to secure the base to our slabs and some ends for the gutters to channel the water into a butt. The main bug bear was that the instructions were very difficult to sort out and we had constructed most of the frame when we realised it hadn't told us to put the first piece on the front not the back! It took us 2 days to puzzle it out.

Shed very good quality

Shed lovely,a bit on the short side despite website stating that it has high eves height, Shed was delivered on the date nice and early so I didn't have to wait in too long, unfortunately it was the wrong one and had to wait 2 1/2 weeks to get the correct one by which time the weather had turned and had to wait a further month for a snow free weekend to assemble it. Customer service over the telephone could not be faulted, Very pleasant and apologetic

Excellent service and product

The product is excellent but needs additional measures to strengthen the build for the UK whether . Also needs more than two people in the initial stages to hold the panels in position. I have cladded my 10x16" in 12mm exterior plywood on the inside and this as improved the rigidity of the whole garage

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!!!

Do not buy this 8' X 12' polycarbonate greenhouse.
It is badly concieved,badly designed and badly manufactured.
When I it measured the nominal 4mm polycarbonate it is actually larger than the slot in the extremely badly formed aluminium extrusion such that it is a hard drive fit and not a gentle push fit.
And now that it's a bit breezy,despite being sheltered on three sides,we're spending an hour every morning re-fitting poly panels.
To try and get some use out of this wretched piece of junk we've had to resort to flash banding the panels to keep them in place.
Come Autumn,we'll have to put it down to experience and junk it I'm afraid and buy a conventional greenhouse and guess who we'll NOT be buying from!!!!

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that the greenhouse has not turned out to your satisfaction. We have found that polycarbonate glazing in greenhouses is prone to blowing out in high winds as they flex. Once this happens it tends to lose its shape causing the issue to be exacerbated.

We have therefore decided to withdraw those polycarbonate greenhouses where we have had this issue.
Polycarbonate greenhouses are really only suitable where they are sited in a sheltered spot. The 4mm polycarbonate greenhouses have made buying a greenhouse much more affordable but as you have found out there can be problems.

The main advantage of polycarbonate is that it does help retain heat more efficiently than glass, helps disperse light better and is bird friendly.

Most greenhouse experts will tell you when compared to toughened glass, toughened glass is a much better option than polycarbonate everytime, although they are more expensive than the 4mm polycarbonate greenhouses.

Glass is far more resilient in high winds.

LEAKY SHED!

I have bought a shed from Elbec buildings (WWW.ELMEC.CO.UK) and paid £285. It arrived on time and it looked fine. The shed was called "Duramax Little hut Plastic Shed - 5' x 3' (1.73 x 0.97m) - Front Width (Door Side) x Depth(Code:LITTLEHUT)". It was erected on a concrate raft in my garden by my handyman who is a professional doing much bigger jobs in my area for the past 20 years. To my dismay however I have noticed that the shed was leaky. After the rain I have found a large paddle of water inside the shed. . I have contacted Elmec and I am still waiting for their reply. But I am not entirely happy because this is supposed to be a waterprrof and durable shed.

Delivery of products is a nightmare!!

They cannot or will not give you a delivery time, I did not expect a precise time just an AM or PM would be fine , waited and waited and waited it got to about 4pm so decided to ring to find out if my summerhouse was actually coming! yes was the response they work into the evening making deliveries the summerhouse turned up at 6.30 in the evening it was dark and I was unable to inspect the summerhouse . However the two men that delivered were very good and placed the summerhouse in the garden and explained that they had had a very long day and still had other items to deliver. I fail to see in this day and age with all types of communication available to use why they cannot contact us there paying customers and give us a rough delivery time, all in all a annoying experience, also when the summerhouse was to be erected we found that the rear panel was split and damaged which by this time was to late to complain. Would I use them again? No I wouldn't . Would I recommend them? No

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you are disappointed with the delivery. Although we did deliver on the day you were promised, we understand why you were a little annoyed due to your delivery being at the end of the day.

Most of our delivery teams have tracking devices fitted now, so if a customer is concerned where their delivery is, just call or email us and we can track the driver and narrow down the time. This information is not yet automated but will be in time.

Although we prefer not to, deliveries can be left without the customer being present if requested.

If there are damaged or missing parts on delivery, don't worry we will replace these, even if the delivery team have left. We do not expect a customer to have to check a building on delivery.

Satisfied apart from a couple of issues

The delivery and instructions to erect the shed were good. However a couple of minor points stopped it being 5 star for the price.
1. The door clasp was made of metal so thin the first wind it broke and I had to go out and buy a more substancial clasp
2. The tacks to attach the roof felt where far to small, it was difficult to one drive them in without hitting thumb and fingers and two not long enough to hold the felt securely.
Again in the first strong wind the top felt ripped off. Again had to go out and buy longer tacks and more felt to replace damaged material.

Overall satisfied but feel slightly let down by a couple of parts being hardly fit for purpose.
