A good product although rather on the expensive side. Very easy to fit by any competent DIYer. Changing wiring connections from Storage Radiators to Electrorad heaters is easy for any electrically competent person. The controls are initially not easy to understand, neither is the programming. I found it hard to follow at first but once learned is quite simple. Not obvious though and not very intuitive. I know a few people in my village who have these radiators and I am frequently going around to their houses to programme or adjust their radiators as they can't cope with the instructions. I can't rate the efficiency of these units properly yet as we have had an unusually cold winter so can't compare effectively with previous years. However the constant temperature control is very effective. These heaters have transformed our bedrooms into very comfortable spaces.
Excellent products. A pity we had to order online to get a reasonable delivery charge.
When I tried to order by phone I was told that the delivery charge was fixed but worth it because the product would be delivered by approved transporter and it would be palette. Online delivery was also on a pallet and half the price.
Rating is for online purchase.
I like the Electrorad radiators (I have 2) that I have installed in my older cottage, where I am unable to install central heating. I think they are more economical than the free standing oil filed radiators that I also have, that was the idea and why I bought them. I have mine wall mounted and connected to the mains electric. I would have liked to have bought more, but bought the first 2 about 5 years apart as they are quite pricey. So will save up for the next. They look smart and the control panel is a good feature meaning I can put them on timer or simply on all the time or just to go on when the temperature drops below a certain amount. So overall pleased with them, but they are very expensive.
I am a chartered engineer so I tend to study this sort of purchase carefully. I bought two 2kw radiators giving plenty of heating capacity in really cold weather but normally running one for the not so cold times. I had arranged for two power points to be suitable for mid wall positions on opposite walls of the conservatory so the installation was very simple and I did it myself as could anyone with reasonable DIY competence.
However the dwarf walls in the conservatory caused the radiators to be low down and access to the digital time and temperature controls awkward for an elderly person.
I telephoned the company and a very helpful lady advised me how to change the software to enable a simple manual on and off control. This works a treat! Excellent service
Would never used them again
A great product that has delivered on the promises on the web site. 3rd time repeat customer soon to be 4 th. I have chosen this product over underfloor heating. Friendly informative staff and a easy to use web site
All in all a lovely company to deal with, friendly knowledgeable staff, order was taken quickly and easily.
Pity they are so let down by their choice of transport company, my 1st order went completely adrift it is only when the delivery driver turned up with a pallet of salt granules that we realised something was wrong, luckily Electrorad sorted the matter out quickly.
My 2nd order managed to be delivered to a completely different house, admittedly it was in the same street again Electrorad came to the rescue.
Overall very satisfied as I said pity about their choice of transport company.
We ordered two of the low line conservatory radiators. Made a couple of phone calls first and Electrorad were very helpful with a couple of questions we had. Radiators safely arrived (albeit in two deliveries as one was missed off) and they were very easy to install. Obvioulsy a bit pricey to run, but all electrical heating items are expensive. These work extremely efficiently even on the coldest of days and we have been very pleased with the result. Would highly recommend!
i bought this upon reccomendation of a friend who lives next door. i have seen the same product in his house, he has 2 and his place was so warm that i have decided to try one and replacing one of my two storage heaters. i had a great winter here at my house the first with a nice warm feeling since i bought the house 4 years ago! by next winter i will save to buy another one and replace the other storage heater. the bill for electric is just a bit higher( because i still have the contract for night savings) than was before but before the house was cold and anyway only a bit more i spent and was always on the heater the last 3 months! so i say very good!
The heat output of the radiator, eventually, is ok, and that's the end of the good news.
The controls are pathetic, truly pathetic, as are the instructions.
And I did complain to the supplier who told me of numerous similar complaints; he/she then sent me a revised but equally poor set of instructions from which I failed to set-up the timer successfully!
So I ended up controlling the radiator with a mechanical time clock, yes it is that bad; and I'm an engineer used to writing technical/operating instructions!
Would I recommend this item? No!
Would I purchase this item again? No!
Would I be happy to return the item for partial refund? Oh yes, please!
Will I be using it again this coming winter? Doubt it, I really do doubt it!
