I recently bought the 'Rotted Scarecrow' costume from Escapade for a Halloween party... And it has to be one of the best decisions I have made for a long time. The costume surpassed my expectations! The costume was very unique and looked much better in person than on the internet which was a great surprise. I received many positive comments on the night about how scary the costume was and managed to scare many people with it! Overall, a top quality product and would recommend to anyone!
I paid for my costume with priority 2 day delivery but it arrived 5 days later, long after the party I needed it for. I sent four emails but received no reply. Refund was granted when I requested it through Paypal but no explanation or apology given so I won't be using Escapade again.
Great website. Easy to order. Ordered 22/10 using 3-4 day delivery. Party on 2/11 so shouldn't be an issue. Received an email like thousands of others on 30/10. It stated "as you are aware we suffered" etc. I was annoyed as I wasn't aware, how could I have been? It also stated that I hadn't put my event date on the order form. I don't remember seeing one but ordering a child's zombie outfit in 22/10 shouldhave given it away.
Anyway I was extremely lucky. I got through to a helpful girl on my 2nd call and she promised a refund. I raise a report via PayPal and got my refund the next say. Communication generally very poor. Nothing in their website. Kept taking thousands of new orders despite a backlog of thousands.
Costume arrived as promised on the day it was supposed to, the costume was the third one we had ordered (not from this supplier I might add), the others were returned due to poor quality and believe me one size does not fit all! However this costume was of good quality and fitted quite well. The only disappointment was the wings couldn't get them to stay on the costume and in the end we went without them. But I would definately order from this supplier again no problem.
Not happy paying expensive postage for a garanteed delivery and didnt receive it, took me 9 attempts to manage to speak to customer services after phone ringing and ringing even after I had been put through to the right department so that was frustrating, the goods were ok but dont think it was worth the money paid.
I ordered an out fit in two different sizes and needed a returns no to send the one that didn't fit back I emailed and phoned on numerous occasions an had no reply leaving me with an unwanted outfit that had to be returned within 14 days not a happy bunny !
Brilliant service. Website is great and easy to find what you want. Reasonable pricing and the time from which you order your product from when it arrives is A star service.

Placed order for a halloween costume and was expecting it Thursday. By Friday we still hadn't received it or an email to confirm it's dispatched (party was on Saturday so cutting it fine!) All morning I constantly phoned but lines were engaged. Sent an email to which I've still had no reply. When I finally got through on the phone, the woman said "I'm sorry, we have f***ed your order up literally". She said the system didn't pick up the order, and it's now out of stock. I have asked for a full refund and just hope they don't mess that up either!

not really what we expected for the amount of money paid.. Snazaroo face paint, When I received this colour it was nothing like the colour in the photo. I was expecting a light grey colour but was a lot darker than the photo shows, ( blue) which was not what I wanted.
orderd costume on 24 oct frome escapade didant get it they sent email saying royal mail depo had problems I coud have refund haven't got it they don't anser phone and don't repy to my email it was for 40 pounds I woud advis u not to bye frome this company .
i sent my order on the 26th of october and said the event was going to be the 2nd of november as its for an 18th birthday party.it didnt arrive within 3 to 4 days it didnt arrive full stop.escapade emailed on the 30th of november saying theres a problem ,i emailed back no reply.my wife phoned up on 31st of october and 1st of november over 20 times ,she could not get through she used ring back as well but no joy.its the 3rd of november now and the day after the party,not a fun night at all ,escapade this is absolutely disgusting to treat a customer this way.i had no option to put one star ,it should be no stars.

I placed my latest order on 25/10/13 and it arrived with Royal Mail on 30/10/13 which was fine. Only problem I have is that the wig which goes with the costume is missing from the order. I have been charged the £18.99 for the wig and it did advise it was In Stock when the order was placed. The invoice received with the goods has been altered with a line scoring through item1,the wig but it does not detail why? I have now been trying to contact Escapade customer services since Thursday but am getting an engaged tone every time. I have also emailed and still no reply. Fortunately I still have 2wks until my event but am starting to give up hope on hearing back from customer services.
I ordered a Halloween costume on 27/10/13, i paid for express delivery (£7.95) that promised it would be with me by 29/10/13. it never arrived, i have tried phoning but constantly get an engaged tone. i have sent emails with no reply. The payment has been taken out of my bank account. I am so annoyed, do not trust this company.
I purchased an Alice Dress for my daughters 4th birthday party. The dress was sent to the party location so I did not see it until the evening before the event. As it was all creased and the apron made badly I put a cool iron (as it was obviously synthetic) to the underside of the dress in the hope of making it look better. I didn't realise that interfacing had been used as an underskirt so it melted immediately upon the touch of the iron as it is usually used to bond two fabrics together. It wasn't until I had done this that I noticed the side seam had a huge gap in it where it hadn't been overlocked together correctly. It was also so tight around my daughters arms that I had to unpick the seam underneath and slightly down the sides to stop it from hurting her. The small sized dress was advertised as suitable for age 4-6. My daughter had just turned 4 and is a slight build and the dress was far too small for her arms to fit in comfortably. I realise that as a cheaply priced dressing up outfit it was not going to be made beautifully, but I would expect it to fit and to have been checked that it was made correctly. If I hadn't of melted the shape of an iron into the underskirt due to inappropriate materials being used I would have sent it back for a refund. The delivery was sent out on time, but the item was a complete let down.
Ordering from escapade happened to be the biggest mistake in online shopping! I had paid extra for a next two day delivery from escaped on the 24th October and still till this day I have not received my refund or delivery! After calling and not being able to get through and sending an email i only hear from them on the 30th to which they say they didn't send my costume as I hadn't put the event date of my party so they asked whether i still needed it. I replied immediately as this was the morning saying that i needed it the next day which is doable with next day delivery yet however i did not even receive an answer back to inform me whether they could achieve this or not. Regardless of whether i didn't put my event date when you pay extra for a 2 day delivery i expect a bladdy costume in 2 days!! This left me having to order on the day of my event from another company online who managed to send it to me the same day. Worst service ever!!! Never buying from them AGAIN!!! Still waiting for a reply from them and my full refund. Ridiculous!
Bought a corpse bride fancy dress + face paint on Fri 25th Oct for a fancy dress do the following Friday 1st November. Items didn't arrive until the day before, Thurs Oct 31st, therefore leaving no time for any replacements if items didn't fit, were missing etc.
Other than that, very nice gear!
Looks like I've been conned out of £100 !! It started going wrong when all the blurb said 'free delivery on orders over £80' but when I tried to fill in the order form it kept coming up with £9.95 postage against the order. It would cost me that in petrol & parking to go to a fancy dress shop so I didn't really mind paying the postage. 10 days later nothing had been delivered. The phone number 02074857384 is constantly engaged. The online tracking just says 'Received at Widd'.
An email was sent & eventually replied to stating 'problems in the mailing system' as the reason but they were on top of it & did I still want my order? I replied yes as the event was still 3 days away. 3 days later no costume, no courtesy email to say it would not arrive in time so I should try to source an alternative costume & the phone number is still constantly engaged.
Me and my husband both ordered outfits separately online for a 70s disco. These weren't needed urgently so we didn't use any of the speedy delivery options. Both outfits arrived within 3 days (which was a huge relief after seeing some of the reviews on here).
The outfits (costing about £30 each) are perfect for the occasion - sparkletastic and OTT! Sizing was accurate and the quality is better than we'd expected.
My only gripe would be that I ordered 2 wigs to see which I liked best and planned to return one. On checking their return policy it states that you cannot return wigs (for hygiene reasons) - I think this should be made much clearer on the purchasing info and so have docked a star for that reason.
Otherwise a pleasure to deal with and I'd use them again with no hesitation.

We wanted a costume for a 10 year old girl, the website that only children's "L" was available: for 10 to 12 years old children. "Perfect", we thought, but received the "S" product for 7 to 9 nine year olds: too small.
We trecked to the store, they had no "L" in stock, we wanted to purchase an alternative product which costs slightly more than the original, but - given we had paid £7.5 postage on the original delivery - we would have had to pay the same. Took a lot of haggling with the store to get them to give us the replacement at the same price we paid for the delivered product (essentially refunding us the postage & packing).
My partner and I had a fancy dress party to go to so we picked out two costumes and paid extra for next day delivery. When the costumes arrived they had sent completely the wrong product. After ages spent trying to get their "customer service" on the phone I was instructed the product ordered was not in stock (thanks for letting us know!) and to go out of my way to send them back the wrong item by next day delivery (otherwise no refund!)
The party coming up very soon I had to quickly pick out a different costume with the promise of next day delivery. However the next day having arrived and you guessed it no costume.
Below par service on every single principle a business should be run! my advice? avoid!
I placed an order on the 25th of October for a Halloween costume. I paid an EXTRA £7.95 for 1-2 day shipping charges. Its now the 1st of November, a week later, and my costume has still not arrived. The party I ordered this for starts in 3 hours and I have no back up costume because I paid EXTRA for the costume to arrive in time so I thought it would do so. This has been frustrating and an unacceptable experience. I certainly will never order from Escapade again.

Our order arrived on time (I paid extra for next day delivery), but the costume was not as seen on the website. A fairly minor discrepancy, but it still ruined the whole effect of the costume, sadly. When I tried to phone Escapade to speak to someone, the telephone line was constantly engaged. In the end I had to remedy the problem with the costume myself. I will not be ordering from this website again ...... I will be visiting a shop on the 'High Street' instead.
Could not order our items online as the payment system was not functioning.
After hours of the telephone being "engaged" it finally rung and nobody answered.
This rang for over 6 minutes and finally cut off.
After numerous attempts we got through the next day, we were then told at 15:20 we had missed the 15:00pm deadline and therefore had to pay £9.95 for next day delivery as we wanted the items before the weekend.
The items did NOT arrive next day and when they finally arrived in a damaged box with an apology from Royal Mail, some items were missing.
We therefore attempted to contact Escapade by telephone (no chance)!!!
We sent 3 emails detailing the issues along with a request for a replacement item that had fallen apart after 30 minutes of wearing it! (Costume cost £135.00) !!!
Over 1 week later we have still not received a reply and the party we were to be attending wearing the items has come and gone.
If you are contemplating using this company, think long and hard as you are NOT able to contact them if there are any problems.
Very poor Service and NO after sales service available.

Got the ideal costume and it was delivered exactly when it was asked for, I could even track my orders progress, just for peace of mind.

I placed an order on 22/10 for a Halloween outfit for my daughter and I got a reply on 29/10 to tell me they had no outfits in stock, even though the online order form showed as one in stock. I then had to rush around at the last minute for a replacement!!! Not good service.
Last week I had ordered two costumes for Halloween, one for myself and one for my daughter. The delivery date given was 29 October.
A package arrived but it only contained one costume. The more expensive costume (mine) wasn't in the package.
Since then I have been calling Escapade and the phone is permanently engaged. I have emailed them but I got an auto response saying they were busy and they would be in touch - but nothing so far.
I have paid for something I have not received. However I am very aware of my consumer rights and will ensure that I get my money back!
From other reviews I have read it seems like I'm not the only one this has happened to! What a disgusting way to treat your customers.
