Once again I have returned to Essential Travel for my annual travel insurance to the US.Once again I have obtained a very competitive quote that offers me exactly what I Require.If you are looking for Travel Insurance you wont find better prices or an easier to use Website
I got a years quote that was nearly three times the previous one and office hours are the same as mine so cannot easily talk to someone to ask why. Therefore took out short insurance to cover a short trip. Unlikely to need travel insurance till September so not worth taking a years yet but no reason why the yearly insurance has gone from £75 to £190.
You've all heard the story of insurance companies taking your money easily enough and then finding all sorts of wrinkles as to why they shouldn't pay up when you make a claim, well the one time I made a claim and needed to fly home urgently 'Essential Travel' made all the arrangement for me and my family very quickly and were utterly brilliant and I would recommend them to anyone on price and service.
I have dealt with Essential travel over the years. I have never yet made a claim but I have recommended the company to friends.
Shopped around on line for travel insurance,but found Essential travel both easy and value for money, no messing around,found the cover that did the trick and that was that, Easy. Though its the first time ive used Essential if it came to a claim then thats the real test, so difficult for me to rate as 5 star value.

Based on good reviews, I ended up paying £80 for 3 months of coverage.
Towards the end of my policy I wrote asking for a 4 day extension to the policy as my homebound flight had changed... I expected that I would be charged a pro rata rate for the extra days.
Alas no, I was quoted £31 for the extra for days. As it turns out they were unable to simply extend my policy, they needed to issue me a new one for the extra days for which there was a minimum policy cost.
Via customer services I asked for an explanation to this ridiculous policy or for someone to contact me to discuss. Unfortunately the person i spoke to was either unable or unwilling and I've been left with the generic customer complains number instead.
Found this firm after a couple of searches on the internet. Looking at the cover compared to others, it was excellent value for money. Have now put it in my Favourites for future holidays and journeys.
I would suggest you give this form to a complete stranger, ie somebody who has not filled -in the details before. Don't forget, I'm a regular customer.
In case of my query, nobody picked up the telephone at all: After filling-in health details, I came to the final section which outlines the minor ailments which are covered free. As I have NO SUCH ailments I wanted simply to proceed to payment. This did not happen, hence my query (in the form of an as yet unanswered email) I therefore decided to tick the top box (Do I only have one ailment to declare?) This then allowed me to pay. Out of interest, I clicked to check my previous cover with you, but found that I have no history with you! Next time..........???
I used this service to arrange travel insurance from my 9 year old grandaughter as I already had mine through my bank account. The whole process took only minutes and the system was very easy to use.

I was confused as to what the superior insurance covered so i decided to ring up and find out. The lady on the phone was friendly and very helpful, she answerd all my questions. I would go with essential travel again. I am just yet to find out if they are as good as i first percieve.
Usually good value for money, but was surprised they were so lapse in sending out the policy and email.
Used live chat - bit of a delay but advisor very helpful when she appeared. Website ok. Would like a document listing all elements of cover e.g. plus the sports I'm covered for. That led to a little confusion that I had the right thing, but the advisor helped.
The multitrip annual cover is excellent value for money. I think the best option is the fact that it gives you up to 45 days travel (for young uns!) on every trip; most other firms are 31 days and extra days means extra premium. Using the site was easy and straight forward. Hoping I don't actually need to claim on it during a European treasure hunt trip and possible trip to Kenya in August.
To speak to someone on the phone you have to wait, on average, half an hour. Unless you're a new customer. If you have a problem and are in another country this is VERY expensive and frustrating.
It turns out their coverage of belongings is basically non-existent. If you managed to let your things get stolen without laying down your life for them, then you were not paying due care and attention.
When you phone asking to start a claim, they tell you you aren't able to before they even know the facts. I was told I couldn't make a claim without a police report for five minutes straight without being listened to. The person wouldn't let me continue with the converasation. They didn't ask if I had a police report. I did.
I only hope they aren't this bad when people need to use their medical coverage... Who knows.
i bought this insurance for my Grand daughter and had no problems the people on the phone were very efficent even when I had to change the policy name, because I had mis-spelt my grand daugters surname
Booked additional insurance for specific illness. No problems and was extremely pleased with the price and how user friendly my experience was. mush easier online rather than phoning around numerous companies for quotes recommend others should use this online service.

I emailed on Sunday to change a detail that was incorrect on my policy, probably through my own error. Received an email back same day saying that this had been changed and new docs in the post. No fuss, excellent service.
