I ordered from this company and payed using my Paypal account which I have had for several years. My Paypal details have remained unchaged since I opened it and my address is 'confirmed' by Paypal. The payment went through without a hitch, including the 'next day' delivery charge which I payed extra for by choice. The following day I received an email from Expansys claiming they would not be sending my goods out until I provided proof of my address in the form of a utility bill copy. I have never been asked to do this before by any company anywhere and so emailed expansys explaining that I was not comfortable providing the copy as I saw no reason for it. My emails were ignored and so I canceled the order. Other than the reply to the cancelation I have received no other communication/explanation from these idiots. I would advise people to be VERY cautious if ordering from this company.
Ordered an Acer Liquid phone. Cheapest I could find it online. Was a bit concerned by some of the negative reviews so was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived very quickly (I like the DHL tracking system they use). Product was brand new and very happy with my purchase.
I placed an order with Expansys for a V-moda crossface LP2 headphones on Friday afternoon around 4pm. I received the acknowledgement email straight away in my email inbox. I tracked the status on their website on monday which said item ready to despatch and I received the item just this morning.
The customer services department are understaffed as I had previously tried calling them twice to check if they had that item in stock but did not get a response. On Friday afternoon I got lucky .. the pleasant customer service rep confirmed that the order was in stock and I placed the order immediately.
I paid 136 GBP incl delivery for this item .. amazon is selling this item for approx 45 GBP more!!
highly recommended!
Terrible service. Willing to accept my payment only to then send me a request for me to scan a utility bill and send this to them. This is basically the customer ensuring the company's own protection from fraud. Do not be misled into thinking this is for your benefit as until goods are received the company is liable and if you pay by credit card you are further insured. this is wholly a ply by the company to cover their own backs.
After i had complied i received an email to say that they had received my scanned documents and the camera i was purchasing would be there as soon as possible. this was now December 20th and this answer as you might expect was no use to me. I asked when i could expect it and i was then told, they are trying to source it. This means they took the money for goods they didn't have. I asked for the cancellation policy and instead of providing this to me sent me a notice that they had now cancelled the order without actually asking me. Shoddy communication, terrible service and arrogance of the highest kind. poor poor company to deal with.
An online retailer relies on good reputations, far more so than a traditional bricks and mortar organisation. It therefore surprises me that expansys support staff resort to lies in order to fob off customers with legitimate concerns.
I ordered the GPEN300 on the 13th of December, at which point I was told that I my order would be fulfilled in 3-5 working days. All well and good.
On the 19th, having recieved neither the goods nor any communication as to any change to this delivery date, i checked my order status, only to be told by the website that it was now '10 days' i.e. after Christmas.
So, I called the number and went through to the customer helpline. I was given a number of misdirections, including 'I will send the web team an e-mail' and 'we cannot guarantee our stock levels at any time'. now I am sorry, but as I explained I have worked in the IT industry for over 18 years and I understand how properly set up logistics and distribution and sales order systems are set up. None of the explanations given provided me with any reason why the delivery date would change, expecially without informing me.
As I am married to a lawyer, and therefore with a reasonable understanding of contract law, when I explained that i had a 'reasonable expectation' that the original delivery dates imply a contract (no matter what disclaimers appear on the order reciept) which should be fulfilled. I was told that the goods would arrive at the Expansys warehouse in the US on the 21st, and required 6 days to ship to the UK. I therefore agreed with the representative that I would recieve an e-mail on the next morning (20th) confirming that Expansys would separate my product in the US and ship it direct to me, so as to arrive in time for Christmas. All well it seemed.
No mail on the 20th, so I rang again and was told that when the product arrived in the US warehouse it would be expedited to me by Fed Ex Express.
When I called today, I was told that:
1. this had not happened would not happen and will not be possible.
2. They have no record of my conversations on their CRM system. Oh, and despite what they say in the call they do not record any telephone calls made to their contact centre.
3. All the managers are in 'important meetings' that will last until 5pm and are not available.
So, Expansys have left me in a position where they have not contacted me to inform me of anything past my original order placing on the 13th December. Their staff have given me a number of excuses and when these have not worked have resorted to lying to me. They have not only failed to provide me with the goods to promised delivery dates, but furthermore because of their lies you have put me in a position where it will be impossible to source an alternative from another retailer. This would have been entirely possible had I been informed on the 13th or even the 14th.
This behaviour from their organisation is not only shoddy, it is redolent of some of the first generation online retailers (some of whom I have helped to set up proper systems) who made bright promises and then failed to live up to those promises. I have no expectation for when this product will arrive and no desire to shop with them again.
After almost 3months of waiting for them to fix my phone, they have finally send it back to me... horrayy! OR MAYBE NOT !!!!!!!
WTF. It is a B-stock phone. I bought a brand new phone, and they have replaced it with B-stock!
Worse, it is DEFECTIVE. There is NO SOUND. The other person on the other line CANNOT HEAR ME, nor I can hear the other person. The only time I can hear sound is when I used an earphone.
Clearly this phone has been returned by someone else, and now they have given it to me !!!!
ive bought mobile phones from this company 3 times and every time has been great got item next day with no problems.
It was mentioned by several reviewers before, but I must repeat the warning about their availability. I ordered a barebones computer and a memory chip to go with it. Their memory was more expensive than that of competitor, but I paid for the convenience of getting them in a same delivery. It said that both are "in stock".
Nah! They shipped computer without the memory, saying that memory will be in "3 days delay" (why if it was in stock?). At that point I regretted buying memory from them. The next day it jumped from "3 days" to "shipped". Oh well, even second-class delivery takes at most 2-3 days in UK. The memory arrived a week and a half later --- it turned out that they shipped it from France!
On the plus side, amending the order five minutes after placing was easy --- the customer service did not give any trouble.

Expansys cancelled my first and last order with them before it was even completed.
I placed a pre-order with them as they promise on their web site that they're the first to have stock. The page for the product which I'd ordered, stated a release date for the product which was subsequently missed, the page was taken down without an explanation even though I asked for one (I asked because I was concerned if they weren't selling the item any more how committed to completing my order in a timely fashion would they be).
After the published release date my brother ordered the same product from a competitor. On the day of delivery of my brother's item, I sent Expansys a request to address my concerns with a deadline of the end of following day, Expansys promptly cancelled my order.
I had previously phoned their customer support line who when question about ambiguities on their web site asked me, 'What do you expect me to do about it?' that is not to mention the length of time before anyone actually answered the phone!
Needless to say, I made an order with the competitor and have already received the item. In dealing with other merchants where I've had a less than exemplary experience they sometimes come back to me asking me how they can improve their service and I'm always happy to offer helpful feedback.
In the case of Expansys I wouldn't know where to start, except to conclude as I started this review I'm not using them again.
ordered a sony ericsson Xperia play which was received next day (only standard delivery ordered).Excellent service..
Expansys is great, no isues to report ...Ive received my purchases in time, every time .
My first order was cancelled though, as I ordered through expansys.fr. The reason was that they didn't ship outside france, but it offered worldwide shipping in the checkout.
I had to create another order and this time my order went through. After that it was processed and shipped quickly and arrived in my doorstep 3 days later.
Buying from Expansys couple times was like a walk in the zoo.. I could see and find everything quickly.. They contacted me when they needed more details and I also spoke on the phone, everything in warm & professional atmosphere.
One of my buys was also a very good offer and had the lowest price in that period.
Very good.. keep the good work!!
You can easily find accesories for your phone, prices are about to be fair, and always got choice of the same accesories
Ordered the LG Optimus 7. Arrived on time. Great price. Easy to use website. Would buy again from Expansys!
iitem was much more cheaper than philips store and any other online store. Deliver with 2 days and well packed.
The item I bought was a much better price than i could find anywhere. It was delivered promptly and well packaged. All communication with Expansys was very professional with prompt replies from them.
All in all a pleasant experience and I will definitely return for my supplies in the future.
Previously ordered items without any problems. This time has been different.
I ordered a phone which arrived without delay. However, the handset soon developed a problem (admittedly not their fault). It took over a week to get any information about arranging a return, and once collected took several days to even acknowledge receipt of the parcel.
I wasn't kept informed of what was happening or given any details of how long it might take to resolve. After weeks of nothing happening I chased them up and was eventually given a tracking number for the replacement, which turned out to have been delivered to somewhere else entirely (this may have been down to the manufacturer's tech centre though - to be honest, I don't know but it shouldn't have needed me to find this out). When queried, it took another couple of weeks to get my handset delivered correctly. Unfortunately this has the same problems as before, so I'm now waiting for the returns information again so I can send it back and get a refund.
Overall very impressed although an out of date discount code was accepted on the website which required a follow up phone call to resolve the order. The goods were then delivered very promptly.
Bought a Galaxy SII in May, received it quickly, abroad.
However the phone had an issue 3 months later, and I struggled to get Expansys' authorization to return the item (they even asked for pictures of the phone's defect). Ended up dealing with Samsung directly using the phone's international guaranty...
I bought an acer liquid metal and it was delivered very quickly and it was cheaper than most other online stores or anywhere else so it does quick delivery as well as competitive pricing
I have had no issues with Expansys, they are informative and I receive the stock in time.
I've got my Acer Liquid mt from Expansys. Shipping was very fast (next day after payment). Delivery took only 1 day. Costumer service is really great. They have local costumer services in different parts of Europe. I messed with payment on my another order, but good cooperation from costumer service helped to resolve this issue fast.
I ordered a phone and expected stock in 2 weeks but my tracking status just kept getting longer delays till I have just found out that it will another 22 days before stock, making it 2 months till delivery, so I have tried to cancel as its getting ridiculous. They should stick to delivery dates that appear on the site and not just keep fobbing people of.
I work in Customer Services so I am realistic about how difficult delivering a service can be but I found this company truly appalling.
I bought a netbook from them when they said they had 12 in stock.
Nothing happened so I chased them. Eventually got a response sayign that they had over fulfilled their orders and they didn't have the item and couldn't get the item from the manufacturer.
So at what point were they going to tell me!? They had already been sitting on my money. So NO they wouldn't offer me an alternative product at the same price. No they didn't respond to my letter of complaint to customer services. Yes they refunded my money but they also wasted my time. Therefore I promised them that I woudl share my experience. BEWARE!!!
I ther
Good service from expansys, would use again if price is right.
I've always had pretty good service from Expansys.. they're definitely my 'go to' source when I want to acquire any emerging technology and they seem to be pretty efficient. Only on two occasions (out of about 15) have I had problems. One was a truly dodgy handset - probably not their fault - and they refunded pretty quickly. The second was a phone that was locked to the O2 network when supplied (not as advertised).. on this, they didn't cover themselves with glory, telling me that the handset had to be returned to them for up top 3 weeks with no replacement. This - of course - was b#@*!ks. I finally managed to get it done myself through O2 in a couple of days but I shouldn't have had to. They seemed on this occasion not to know anything about anything.
orderd a dongle at a great price delivery was quick very pleased with my purchase with expansys
i would buy again from this company
When I bought my memory card it turned out to be counterfeit. The refund went smoothly after having to threaten with legal actions ... I am shocked that this can happen!
Expansys have plenty of stock, and delivered quickly. However, their participation with TopCashBack could use some scrutiny because, after a month, I haven't received my cash back offer :-(
I received the goods within a couple of days exactly as ordered. I was very disappointed to be unable to order by telephone as used to be the case.
Like service of Expansys. They always have a good choice of products.
item never received,no reply to emails or phone calls whatsoever.
had to open a claim with Paypal to get refund, took three weeks before I received it. the company couldn't even be bothered to respond to emails from Paypal.
I can't believe this company is still in business,if this is there idea of customer service,it is laughable.
I can confidently say that I will NEVER deal with Expansys again.I would rather nail my eyelids to a tree with rusty nails.
Buy British.Shop elsewhere.
Remember Agincourt !
(the system won't allow zero stars,so just ignore the one)
looking for an anniversary present (crystal) and the monday madness offer of the Flip HD came up on the Email - crystal clear vision - present problem solved
I bought a 3g Dongle from this shop. They promised 1GB pre loaded data which is a month's worth. But when I started using it and after about 30 mins it came up with a message that I need to top up. When I checked online it showed that I have spent a £1 which I need to payback after the top. When I had raised this with Expansys they never replied. Worst customer service and I'll never shop with them again.
However, dont trust their stock levels. 'In stock', 'Expected in 5 Days' etc, are all rubbish. I have waited 6 weeks for items listed as 'In Stock' and over 2 months for an item listed as 'Expected in 5 Days'.
Also dont bother ringing their customers services number, a complete waste of time.
If you're not in a hurry then their prices are good.
Expansys have a great selection of products and always deliver a good service. I've never had any issues if I've had to return a faulty product either. The only minor gripes I have is that their prices could be lower - they're often beaten by others on price - and that their website can be misleading about stock levels, i.e. you place an order for something that says "100+" in stock, only to then receive a confirmation email with a status saying "Expected 5 days" - that's frustrating if you ordered something expecting it to turn up the next day (and you've paid a more-expensive next day delivery charge.)
