I bought a Samsung GT-I9082 phone from Expansys Japan. After using it for two weeks I noted that I can receive text messages but cannot send out any. Calling their Japan office I got the answerphone and left messages but was never called back. I sent mails but they were not answered either. Finally I got through and the girl told me that she would ask their technical people for a solution. She never called back. Then I got a mail from Expansys Hongkong to return the mobile to Hongkong. When I called Japan again and got finally through, I was told that I would have to send it back to Hongkong at my expense and that she could not help me. Summary: If you buy from Expansys Japan, you have no technical support, no warranty and you are probably lucky, if they refund you the invoice amount, but import tax, shipping to you and back to them all goes out of your own pocket.
Well after looking for a shop to buy a SIM free Galaxy Note 2 I gave Expansys a try. At first it seemed ok but I had problems from day 1.
Communication is horrible. I took me more than 10 emails to get an answer. They say their opening hours are from 10 but the phone line often stays closed until 10:30 and then it's impossible to get someone. Today it took me 23 attempts before I eventually spoke with a human being.
But well I know for a fact that companies with super cheap prices always have a crappy service, that's nothing new.
the worst part is that I know believe that this company works with grey market and have no support whatsoever from the makers of the items they sell. They have their own 3 months guarantee so they're sure they'll never have to pay for anything and since makers don't support them they can't provide normal maker's 1 year warranty.
This sucks because well, my Galaxy Note 2 just got the infamous SDS (Sudden Death syndrome) cause by a chip that breaks usually 4 to 6 months after you purchase the device (just check the web, it's full of testimonies about this very problem). Too bad for me, crooks at Expansys basically told me fuck off and read their policy again. the woman I had on the phone (and who refused to give me her name) kept telling me to check the company's policy on the website over and over again like an old recording tape.
Eventhough this is a maker's issue known and that Samsung should take care of I received ZERO support from Expansys. The lady promised she would give me phone numbers and emails to contact Samsung but of course the email never came.
So it is very simple. DON'T ever buy anything from those guys. They don't offer proper warranty because they can't, which means the source of their products is highly suspicious. You can't trust them, you'll have a crappy if no communication at all, no maker's warranty and as soon as you have a problem they will just say "sorry we can't do anything".
I will NEVER buy anything ever again from those guys and I strongly advice anyone reading this to share it and put this company in their own blacklist.
