I called to say the furniture was damage mr Tom said wil contact me by writthing I haven't from them this was 4 weeks ago,i wil never buy anything again from them,the quality is not I expected and very expensive.
considering I haven't gotten my order delivered after 10-days with ZERO proactive Customer Service explaining the UNACCEPTABLE delay - NOR ANY compensation for the inconvenience, I WILL NEVER be buying ANYTHING from you again and will actively campaign against your store telling as many people I know to NOT EITHER !!!
I ordered a bench which turned out to be not in stock. They order things through 3rd party manufacturers and don't have accurate info on their site about what's in stock and what isn't.
After a 2 week delay and me writing a bad review they chased it up but I cancelled my order because there was a 5-6 week delay.
Until they can improve their stock information you really should go elsewhere.
We ordered an Ottoman douple bed from First Furniture and were a little apprehensive because some of the reports were not good. All I can say is they must have been written by competitors because we found the service to be excellent. At this stage I should say the goods arrived with the packaging damaged and as per their email that we recieved prior to delivery I signed for them as such.
On opening the packaging it was evident that one of the parts was badly bent and I immediately notified First Furniture who took the case up with the supplier who supplied a replacement part 4 days later. At all stages of the process I was kept informed by telephone of what was going on and when I could expect delivery.
Sometimes things go wrong and an organisation should be judged by how it responds to the problem not that there was a problem. All I can say is the service I recieved from First Furniture was exemplory and I am pleased to offer the compnny my endoresment.
Buying a chair from a photo is worrying, but the website had very large, clear photos from different angles. The chair was delivered very quickly after informative emails which arrived promptly. It's comfortable, solid, good value for money. Only one quibble: Allen keys are provided but we also needed a spanner exactly the right size for the bolts. Without it, you'd be in difficulties. You need time and patience too.
I am very pleased with my furniture ordered for my living room. It looks so stylish yet at an affordable price. The website is easy to use when ordering and the delivery from start to finish very informative.
I ordered my garden seat and asked for it to be delivered on a particular day. I was rather sceptical about this, but, lo and behold, my seat arrived on the very day!!
One slight problem, one of the rivet's holding the armrest was broken but, being a handy fellow, I was able to put this right. Perhaps anyone else would have found this a big problem??
Ordered a recliner massage chair which was really good value for money. Ordering was easy and received regular emails regarding the status of my order. Only negative was that I asked for a Thursday or Friday delivery but it was delivered on the Wednesday while I was at work, thankfully a neighbour was in to accept delivery for me. Appart from that I would recommend First Furniture for value, quality and quick delivery.
looks great ,seats very comfortably.duals-up as a very comfortable fold-down bed.with this kind of quality at these prices ,i reccomend First Furniture and their fantastic deals to all .despatch was fast and efficient ; delivery the same and the only cuts were on the prices.COOL.the variety of choice is wide ranging , as are the styles,just wish i could show you HOW GOOD ! what am i on about ? a realy nice, modern, bed settee.
Ordered a headboard and paid by credit card. After a week or so I telephoned the
Company when, after enquiry by staff to the supplier, I was told that the item would not be available until July. It would have been better if this information had been available when I ordered. I cancelled the order and requested a refund. On the good side, the payment was refunded to my credit card almost immediately.
This was by far the easiest and most enjoyable furniture shopping ever.... Tom was pleasant and helpful and knew the product I inquired about. Prompt service and delivery too.
We are now enjoying these beautiful comfy chairs.

I ordered four garden chairs from furniture first as to everything bought online its a gamble but not this time very pleased with my purchase and the quality of the goods and the delivery service will shop with your company again.
This website is misleading and dishonest. On the front page of the website it states in Bold and Underlined text "Free Nationwide Delivery". That is a clear and unambiguous statement. I ordered a child's bed at £61. Two days later I received a phone call advising me that there would be a £35 charge for delivery to Inverness. I sent an e-mail complaining about this deception and received a further phone call from a member of staff/management who tried to justify the company's position by saying I should have opened a text box behind the "Free Delivery" statement to reveal details of delivery charges. I did this later and discovered the truth hidden behind the lie - i.e. delivery in Scotland is free in the Central Belt and nowhere else. I cancelled my order with First Furniture, went back on to the Internet and found another company that did, in fact, deliver free to Inverness - not some backwater but officially the fastest growing city in Europe
Delivery efficient however box was bashed up and taped back together. Some parts of order missing from the box. This problem was resolved very quickly and efficiently by customer service rep,
I ordered a Bentley bed from First Furniture and asked for delivery on a specific day ( they offered next day delivery but I thought that I would give them a few days so there would be no problems, ordered on Sunday, to be delivered on Thursday).
On Wednesday a box was delivered ( 1 of 3 apparently), so I rang FF and inquired about the rest ( and left a message on the their web site, which they did not read!). The rest was promised for Thursday. Thursday no delivery! When I rang FF again the story unfolded, the supplier Bentley organised delivery through a courier firm XDP express and this was the problem. The courier XDP express were useless, I thought they looked unprofessional when the white van which delivered the first box had their logo XDP marked in the grime on the side of the van!
The second box arrived at 7.15 Friday night, the outer cardboard damaged and wet.
Again rang FF an asked about box 3, they were helpful, but had to always talk to Bentley and courier to get the answers. The promise was made that box 3 would be delivered on Saturday. I stressed to FF the important of this as the bed was for my daughters new house in Surrey and I was taking it there on Sunday, along with other items for here new house ( I live in Gloucestershire).
We stayed in all day on Saturday, but no bed was delivered!
I rang FF on Sunday morning and complained bitterly, I asked then if box 3 could be delivered to my daughters house on Monday, FF said they would get on to the supplier on Monday but it was likely that they could only get the box redirected by Tuesday, this I agreed to. ( Accepting that I would have to spend an extra night in a hotel, the bed being delivered was for my wife and I to sleep in in my daughters new house!)
On Monday I rang FF from Surrey to confirm the box was being redirected and would arrive on the Tuesday at my daughters house, this they confirmed.
What happened next!
Box 3 was delivered to my house in Gloucestershire on Monday, no box was delivered to my daughters house in Surrey on Tuesday!!!!!
In other words promises broken all they way through this sorry saga.
After complaining to FF they eventually got Bentley to give me some money of the bed price ( about 30% of what it cost me in additional costs ).
I asked for a explanation of why this happened, I am yet to receive it.
Would I recommend FF to a friend, although they were helpful in this matter, NO, not without being assured regarding supplier and couriers being used.
I do not want to repeat this experience again
We were very impressed with the service. I was telephoned to arrange a day for delivery and the goods arrived as promised. I realised they would be on a pallet and we would need to put the legs on the table so I arranged for some help with this. It was fortunate I did so as my husband (75) and self (70) couldn't have managed it on our own. It was not as simple as it should have been to put the legs on the table as the slots were not lined up correctly. However this last is an issue for the manufacturer rather than for First Furniture.
I ordered 2 chairs supplied by Drive Medical and supplied by First Furniture,
1 Chair arrived very quickly I contacted first furniture and they arranged for the second chair to be sent overnight, when it arrived it was damaged I again contacted First Furniture and within 24 hours I had a new chair and the old one picked up.
I think the way First Furniture dealt with the problems was first class, none of the problems were their fault. I would recommend this company to anyone
I bought a bed from First Furniture. When I asked for product information at the beginning I was told I'd be getting a call or sent an email. Didn't get anything till third call! I was also told that mid month when the product comes in I'd get a call to arrange delivery.....waited till 20th of month and thought I'd give a ring. Was told the product was already dispatched and will be with me in 2 days time!!!! I wasn't sure if someone would be home then as no advanced notice, and seemed like I wouldn't have got a call if I didn't ring! Luckily the delivery came before I set off for work that day.
Overall, the process could be looked at and improved, but got the product in time regardless and happy with the choice!!!
They were great at point of order, had email to say bed i liked out of stock, they advised me on a similar bed, very helpful there. Order placed for replacement bed, didnt arrive for 15 days from point of original order!!!!!! Couriers had lost it in transit?, but no call to me to advise of this, I chased and advised would be with me that day, no bed!!! Chased again advised bed would be with me that day - finally bed arrived. Initial service great, lack of communication though, probably not first furniture fault here? maybe couriers?
We bought a Serene Grace bed from first furniture. The bed arrived on the requested delivery date and we are very pleased with it. The only critiscim we have is that after submitting the order and requested delivery date, we had no confirmation from first furniture on the delivery date so we called first furniture to check on this and got a confirmation of delivery date as requested.
We purchased a table from First Furniture. Their price was extremely competitive and it was delivered in advance of our expectations on the day we suggested would be best. The table arrived extremely well packed and at the time agreed with the driver.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them based on my experience and will check them out first for any future needs..
I bought 2 items of garden furniture and I am very pleased with both products. However, customer service within this company leaves a lot to be desired. I was not kept it touch regarding despatch of these items and when I tried to ring the company I could not get through, I was greeted with a message "please hold" and then nothing, I didn't know whether I was on hold or had been cut off! This happened three or four times. I sent an email but did not receive a reply. Because I had ordered on line I was beginning to wonder if this company actually existed. I did eventually get through to someone I could actually speak to and was dealt with in a friendly, efficient manner. I got the impression my order had been overlooked, but was not told exactly why the despatch of my items was delayed. My items were with me first thing the following morning.
I was amazed at the size of the box the mattress came in but following the directions we soon saw the full size emerge and it lived up to expectations with regards to depth and softness. The frame fits in very well with the furniture already in the room and was easy to assemble as there was a bossman and 2 lady helpers who quickly knocked it into shape !
Website said next day delivery of the product, when I received no delivery details I contact First Furniture only be to told it was actually a 7 day delivery. I was told I would receive a call regarding delivery times and dates. Nothing was received by day 5 so I called again, to be told it was down for delivery on the 7th day. On the eve of the 7th day we received a call from First Furniture to say that the item was out of stock with no idea when it would come back in.
Given that the item ordered was a bed for my son's room this was far from acceptable given that I had made two previous calls and not been told the item was out of stock. As we needed a bed asap we agreed on a replacement item but have to say the quality of the wood that the bed is made from does not reflect the price we paid.
Unlikely to use First Furniture again
Easy to assemble and appears to be a very good chair. Only downside, it would have been useful to have had some operating instructions. The seat back is now in it's highest postion and without playing around with it for ages I can't currently see how to lower this!
I would have reviewed higher if we did not have to contact Furniture Direct to find out when the bed and mattress was going to be delivered. We ordered the bed on line and requested delivery. The next morning we received a phone call to say that the mattress could not be delivered on the requested day and it would be 7 days. After 7 days we had not heard anything so we called and they rang back (very efficiently) with delivery times for the next day. Both the bed and mattress was delivered the next day.
