We purchased a pair of flights through this company. The price was increased with 'service charges' by £100 which was only evident after pressing purchase. Then they attempted to get us email copies of passport and credit card to them within 24hrs, otherwise they would charge £100 for cancelling the booking. Absolute scam.. DO NOT USE!
I came across this company and was automatically drawn due to the vast variety of tickets at lower costs compared to others. I booked 5 flights to Canada and was quoted £3,756.95 in total, however at the confirmation page the quote went up to £3,971.80. Stupidly I thought that this was much cheaper in comparison to other flight costs during the summer period and assumed this much expense was expected. I proceeded with payment and awaited a confirmation email. The email received upon booking stated that I would receive final confirmation soon, this left me worried because I assumed once I had paid, my flights would automatically have been confirmed. The next day I received an email stating the payment transaction had failed to go through and the price of ticket could balloon at any time and I would be expected to pay whatever amount! I called my bank and it was only then I was told that although they said the payment failed to go through, fly.co.uk had taken 5 different payments and therefore it was prohibited by my bank. I was extremely fuming at this stage as they had said no payment had been taken! After all these complications I decided not to go ahead with the booking and cancel it all together. I was then told that I would be required to pay a cancellation fee of £100, even when whilst I was booking I paid for additional costs such as "No fly.co.uk fees in case of cancellation" to cover every passenger. I am yet to receive my refund which for them happens to be ever so convenient as it will cost me even more money in order to call their customer helpline and resolve the issue. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted at how a company feels they can gain money from their dishonesty and false advertising. Although it is significantly more costly, I will in future purchase flight tickets directly from a legitimate airline, in order to avoid these fraudsters. I hope this helps those considering this website- purchase with caution!
i booked this flight for my niece . after trawling thro many sites i came across this one, i must say, it was easy to use and booked without hesitation. (my niece has gone to dominican republic for 5 months, so i will have to ask her if there were any hick-ups after leaving /returning to uk - shes not due back till july) But so far so good. thanks again
This is the second time I used them, the first one last year was for my 16 year old grandson travelling alone. They changed the flight details over and over and ended up offering him a flight to America with so many long layovers it was a 28 hour journey when we rejected that they gave us one on a different day. Sorted it out eventually and yes it was a great price so I sucked it up. Decided to try them again......... big mistake. If something sucks the first time I should have learned. I tried today to book a flight for my son but half way through the checkout process I was basically booted off the last page of checkout and returned to the find a flight page. I thought what the heck and went to Expedia and got the same flight 20 pounds cheaper and booked it. Imagine how surprised I was when half an hour later I got an email telling me that my booking request had been made and confirmation would be available in 24 hours. I contacted my credit card company and found that they had made EIGHT CHARGES FOR $1.65 AND TWO FOR $16.46. I authorised the card company to dispute the charges and not allow the flight charges. Eventually got an email from the company offering to cancel it for 100 pounds. After a whole bunch of emails back and forth and another call to the credit card they wrote and said that the flight was cancelled, but gave me no explanation of why they had tried to charge me an additonal $50. It was their website that had a glitch not anything I did. I book half a dozen flights a year so I know what I am doing. I feel like they tried to scam me. If you have a problem dont try calling the number for customer service. I tried at least 10 times and every time was told that there was no such number. Thanks to great customer support at Capital One I will not be out of pocket but certainly this bunch of fly boys tried hard to do it.
Must admit coming from Malta we usually travel air Malta, but this time decided to give Turkish air a go as we were going to Istanbul. The fly.co.uk site came up with the cheapest price and the booking procedure was really simple. We were kept informed via email after booking and even got an email to remind us that the flight was only 4 days away and gave updated flight details. All in all a very good experience, hassle free and economical. Would recommend.
I booked a ticket from Athens to London using fly.co.uk. They cancelled the booking requesting additional information and evidence of card holder, but at the same time they proceeded in charging the card for this cancellation which was not of my choosing. Watch out this practice, so as not to lose your money or have to provide photocopies of cards and passports which they should not be asking in the first place, or they should be warning you that unless you have them and you are prepared to provide it to them, they can both cancel the flight because they don't accept the card and charge the card at the same time for the cancelation!! Keep away, I never had this problem with any other similar website.
I would never ever use this company again. Avoid this company at all costs. I booked a flight from Manchester to Milan recently; there was a half hour flight change that I was not informed of and was only told about at check in. Luckily I had left in plenty of time but this was not acceptable. There was also a spelling error on my surname on the fly.co.uk itinerary that I had received. I had asked for this to be corrected and they responded by saying that it would not cause me any problems. It delayed me at check in and wreaked havoc for me on my return flight with Ryanair as it stopped me from checking in online. I had to call Ryanair and they corrected the problem. Obviously I had to spend a lot of money using my iPhone Internet and waste time calling ryanair from Italy which was very expensive. I have complained and have so far received one response saying I could have contacted Ryanair myself which I had already done and making light of the flight change situation by saying that the email will have gone to my spam ( I have assured them it didn't) and how it was only a half hour difference. I find this completely unacceptable and would never use them again. I have informed them that I will be taking this matter further. What a shoddy company with very poor customer service.
Apprehensive at first but once engages with staff it was easy. Had minor hitch with payment and that was handled with ease. Made me feel confident in service. Follow up tickets and messages were clear and helpful.
DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY....... THEY ARE SCAMMERS! I booked a ticket to Malaysia online and paid with my credit card, I then received an email from them saying that the ticket was not confirmed and could go up in price and even have the airline and flight date changed until confirmation, I waited and waited but still no confirmation email. I had to book a connecting flight onto Australia nd was worried that it would change prices if I waited too long, so I decided to cancel the transaction as up to then no money had gone from my account.... On the email I was told if I cancelled I could be charged upto £100. I would never have booked with them and given them my credit card details if I had know that it wouldn't have had instant confirmation. To make this short they ended up taking the £100 from another account, which I had given no authority for them to use....I called my bank and was told they had somehow ( I am still waiting for the fraud dept to get back to me) took the money from another account (totally undisclosed to them) and had set up a recurring debit, meaning they could take money from my account at any other time....so I have now had to cancel this account.......if they have set up a recurring account, surely this is to take money at a later date......this is fraud as they have had no authority to do this, maybe one day thousands of unsuspecting customers could suddenly lose money and fly.co.uk could disappear......who knows.....if you have given bank details to this company.....check ALL accounts to make sure no money has been taken. The money they took was from my debit card account, whereas the details I gave to them were for a credit card, which I cancelled....how they hacked into my personal account is baffling and very very suspicious and totally totally illegal, I can only think that it is somehow linked through the banks...?? THEY ARE A GERMAN COMPANY WITH DIFFERENT LAWS.....PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! **Because the transaction was unlawful the HSBC is investigating and have given me the £100 refund! Wanted to give no stars obviously but unable to post without grading at least one star!
I booked flights on fly.co.uk as it seemed quite reasonably priced, I got confirmation and everything seemed fine. The next day I received a call from my credit card company to say that I had tried to purchase flights but it had not gone through, they were not sure why. They suggested I try rebooking the flights again. I emailed fly.co.uk numerous times to see if I could resolve the problem but got no response, sense the flights had not gone through I figured I would rebook the flights. Once again I received confirmation from the company that I had the tickets, but of course that was too good to be true, calling my credit card company again to check I found out that the flights had never been booked. A day had passed, and I still had not heard back from the company. The next morning I finally received an email stating that the first booking I had made had not gone through, but the tickets were now £650 pounds more each person and did I still want to go through with the purchase? I replied that I would not like to go ahead with this, and was told then by the company that they would cancel the flights.
I then received a third email regarding the second booking that I had to make as the first one had not gone through. Fly.co.uk stated that they were not sure why the flights had not been booked, even though I had emailed them to say the funds were available on my credit card company. Fly.co.uk asked me to send in a copy of my passport and credit card information if I wanted to continue and try to rebook the flights, at this point I wanted nothing more to do with them. I replied and told them that would not like to progress with the booking as it had not gone through in the first place. I then got a final email from them to say that they have charged me a £100 for cancelling the flights. This is some great scam, they don’t book your flights, they don’t email you back to respond to your queries, but they have no problem charging you a £100 cancellation fee for flights they never booked in the first place. I have never been so disappointed with a company and the business conduct. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO WASTE AND MONEY TO GIVE AWAY.
Booking the tickets all seemed fine (although £16 credit card fee is extortionate and much higher than the competition)...then the email confirmation came through. An error in the booking. I spotted it instantly and contacted customer services. To their credit, they respond promptly. To their huge detriment, they refuse to honour the most basic terms and conditions of the airline.
The airline offers a 24 hour grace period to correct errors for free (https://www.britishairways.com/travel/book-with-confidence/public/en_gb). Not so fly.co.uk, who want to charge more than the cost of the flight to fix the error and steadfastly refuse to change the flight, refund the taxes or help in any way whatsoever. Unless they change their tune I shall take legal action, as after two weeks of emails back and forth they aren't budging even though they are in the wrong. Their telephone number is a premium rate affair, so don't count on being able to speak to anyone.
Do yourself a huge favour and book directly with the airline or a more reputable travel agent. Otherwise you end up being treated like a Ryanair customer even if you're paying full service fares, right down to the sneaky fees, hidden charges and steadfast refusal to refund your money even when it's your contractual and legal right. Avoid.
I also didnt realise this was not a UK company and not covered by ABTA, but so far so good, im due to fly in a few days, it is very scary as bad weather and maybe cancelled flight, so hope all is going to be ok and get on another flight if nessesaly. But they are very good prices, easy to book, updates sent to me, so all ok at the mo. If no problem when the day comes then would think about using again, its the ABTA bit thats scary. It also says leave as review as i have then click on the address given and your £10 voucher for adding a review becomes £70 if you send copy of the review to the address given, but thats a bit of a NO NO as it just brings you back to this review????
