Booked a holiday with Thomas Cook which included a Flybe flight, chose holiday and flight based on a afternoon flight, 2 weeks after booking they changed the flight time by 6 hours which would have meant losing 2 nights sleep in a period of 7 days or an overnight stay at the airport which was not possible due to my partners shift work. Had to cancel the holiday and too late to book anything else, it was for my 50th birthday. Never had any of the other airlines move flights more than an hour or so. Flight was booked months in advance. Thomas Cook were very understanding and gave me a refund. Will not book Flybe again as part of any holiday.
We have to use them for work to fly to Scotland and they will join two flights together to save money.
Flybe lost my baggage and trying to get them to settle the claim was unbelievably frustrating. They made no effort to trace the baggage, did their best to wriggle out of their responsibilities to replace it and then stopped replying to correspondence completely. They eventually sent a cheque to settle the claim after I threatened to take them to the small claims court. The flights from Newcastle to Gatwick themselves were fine; their baggage claim department are an absolute discredit to the company. I will be avoiding this company in the future; you can judge a company on how they react when things go wrong and Flybe failed impressively.
Ever heard of FLYBE Airlines,?well they keep pretty much in the background, except when they rush forward demanding money! These are the people who give masterclasses in deviousness (skilful use of underhand tactics to achieve goals) to the rest of the airline industry! Ryanair, pussycats , they learnt all they know from Flybe, but failed the final exam, because Ryanair tell you they are going to screw you! My partner, who is 75,was going to visit her dying sister in Nottingham, tear jerker, but true. She flew from Benbecula to East Midland via Glasgow, changed planes there and got hit with a £40 excess baggage EACH WAY from and to Glasgow, got it so far? Now you get on a plane in Benbecula marked FLYBE, you land in Glasgow, and get on another plane marked FLYBE, and kaching, £40 one way, although you are MID JOURNEY????? suitcase full of pressys, £40. and then came the real masterstroke to end masterstrokes, it is so classy a stroke, the very epitome of deviousness I,m surprised they havnt patented it, they then try to charge her -£2.50, for using the cash machine to pay for the excess luggage charge they have just levied Is the luggage charge legal, sort of, 3 pages of booking info, halfway down page 1 in the faintest of faint type, 2 words, baggage rules. hit that and a half page of how they are going to screw you comes up, another master class stroke, not only fine print, but faint print as well as a touch of clairvoyance!! On the 11th August an email arrives telling me to print out a boarding pass for my partner, now I think, I am in Benbecula, and she is in Nottingham, flying back the next day, I cannot get it to her. At 0900 the next day, I phone Flybe 12 and a half minutes at 10p a minute, spoke and told her the position I was in, I was then told that there was no electronic check in at East Midlands!!a LIE. I said why did you email the boarding pass then, I should have known better, 12 ands a half minutes @10p a minute better, a finishing masterstroke, to a very expensive flight and a very unhappy experience. You have a monopoly on the islands, and you abuse it to the utmost extent!!!!!
I flew Paris to Glasgow on June 17 and I have still not received my bag back from FlyBe. Every attempt at contact has been greeted with stonewalling, blame shifting and rudeness. They could not make it anymore clear they have no intention of helping me. It almost seems like an office joke they are playing at the moment. I contact them daily. I did not think this lack of respect for a customer was actually possible.
I've flown a reasonable amount of times in my life but never have I boarded a plane where the staff was sat at the back chatting, giggling and eating crisps the whole flight except for emergency talk, checks and refreshments cart. This would be heard all across the plane and despite it being a new years day flight and there being many empty seats, I would not have expected it to be so to speak 'casual' working environment. I was travelling from Birmingham to Edinburgh and next time I would most likely go with a different company with more professional staff.
My New Year’s resolution is NEVER TO FLY WITH FLYBE AGAIN! I wrote to the CEO explaining how Flybe losing my luggage for 36 hours on the outward leg of a weekend trip to Cheltenham Literature Festival on Oct 5 had completely screwed up my plans and prevented me from attending the festival (on the first weekend I’d had off after working non-stop 7/7 in India and Kenya for a few months). Didn’t hear a dickie bird. On the return leg Flybe damaged my baggage. I had to go to the official dealer myself, who of course then sent me elsewhere for the repairs. Three return trips across Paris, all requiring an afternoon off, all at MY expense. Flybe will only cover the cost of the actual repair! UNBELIEVABLE. They are so miserly, they won’t even cover the cost of public transport to effect the repair that their shoddy service made necessary. So, to recap, FLYBE completely ruined the weekend, making the actual trip pointless and then they break my baggage and I’m the one who has extra time, trouble and costs putting THEIR mistake right. You’d think they’d make some form of commercial gesture and at least refund the transport costs associated with the repair, wouldn’t you? Whoever they’ve got running PR should be sacked. Why would I ever want to travel with Flybe again? Oh! That’s right. I don’t! Since October I’ve travelled to the UK four times, each time with EUROSTAR. I heartily recommend anybody considering traveling between France and UK with Flybe to think again.
I fly to other countries on a regular basis and you're the cheap flight company I love the best, no charge for debit card payment. Plenty of leg room and you don't feel like your sat on the person next to you lap. I will always choose flybe over other cheap no frills airlines unless you have no seats left,
Very disappointed - there are several Flybe web sites and prices vary. The tickets I wanted were priced at £12 cheaper each person each leg of journey but not available at purchase. No one is prepared to deal with our complaint in an efficient manner.Flybe say there is only one price at checkout but how can you tell. Have to use them as we are on an Island and they are the only carrier if we have to fly to mainland.
I have always found flybe to be fab and use them to get from Gatwick to Bergerac. The hosties from Manchester are delightful, the plane is always clean and leg rooms not too bad. Nearly as good as BA and far better than 'no frills' airlines such as Ryanair!
Also, I love the fact their planes have propellers ... as I am able to make believe there's a slim chance we could glide down to earth in event of engine failure! :O)
We somehow managed to lose our puppy during the transfer from the Manchester flight to the Kirkwall flight at Aberdeen. This was due to Servisair being completely useless and Flybe staff came to our rescue found the dog immediately and one of the desk staff drove me to the warehouse in her own time to fetch my puppy. Absolutely wonderful staff at Aberdeen. Would recommend them to anyone.
First of all a stewardess asked me to put my small case into a frame to make sure it was the correct size - which it was. Then on the plane the lockers are so small I had to put my case on the floor under the seat in front. These propellor planes are not great, plus if there is any turbulence they are all over the place.
The flight from Birmingham to Edinburgh was fine - friendly airport & cabin staff, comfortable aircraft. The REAL problem is with Flybe's own and their contractor staff at Edinburgh. Firstly their cabin baggage allowance is 10% smaller than everyone else's, BUT they don't make that clear (use VERY small print). Then they let you fly north with the bag, but on the way back they want to charge you because they want to put it in the hold. Inconsistent, an exit from Scotland tax, or just Edinburgh staff incentivised to wring the max from travellers (where the bag DID fit the frame the gate staff then weighed it to see if they could tax the pasenger that way! All their Edinburgh staff were unhelpful to the point of being confrontational - not what one expects in a business where service is paramount. and the captain on the Edinburgh Birmingham flight gabled his intro message as if he was trying to break a speed record for a bet. This on top of being told, when I had to cancel one leg of a return flight, that it wasn't worth reclaiming the tax (actually it was!), and I couldn't keep the seat for more leg room, if I didn't release it back to Flybe for them to sell again the return leg would be cancelled. There are buidget airlines, and then rip og=f Flybe. You can guess who will be using next time I fly.
The first time I used FlyBe for a return flight between London Gatwick and Nantes. And based on my overall experience, I'd say they're pretty great!
Easy online check-in Both flights departed on time and arrived early Comfy seats and good legroom Good selection of (not expensive / rip-off) onboard snacks, drinks and gifts Friendly staff Not the cheapest but very reasonable and provided value for money to me
Erm, that's about it really. Based on my first experience with the (2 flights) I'd definitely use them again and recommend them.
Rude staff at Edinburgh airport. It took many weeks to get a reply to my letter of complaint and then it was just standard rubbish. My bag was two inches larger than their container, the plane was half empty but in spite of this I had to pay an extra £60 to put my bag in the hold in spite of flying from Manston airport without a problem. I will never ever Fly with this terrible airline again
I live in Exeter so Flybe are very convenient as they operate from Exeter Airport. Although there are many 'budget' airlines around offering slightly cheaper flights, Flybe still have very competetive prices, hve a very easy booking procedure and maintain excellent customer service from booking to landing at your destination. I can't rate this company highly enough!
