For me biggest problem with this store is / has been that site has incorrect availability status for many products. After the initial preorder date, the site status only shows items as available, even if they still might be in preorder (delayed release date). For example, there is a product I preordered last June, which they are still waiting to get (original availability date was suppose to be at the end of last October) and the site has showed the item available (not in preorder) since the the item was originally suppose to be released. They should update the new expected release date for preorder items, if items are delayed from the original date, so possible buyers would know the items are not available yet and are not waiting to get them in some cases for months for nothing.
I ordered a bunch of figures from forbiddenplanet.co.uk at the end of December. They responded that some of the figures weren't in stock and they could not get any new ones from the supplier. Good and informative and a week later the first batch of my order was dispatched. The only problem is that now two months after my order I still haven't received the last batch and haven't gotten any explanation of the delay.
I ordered 2 items as a Christmas pressent. I had the initial order confirmation but nothing else. so when I phoned to check on the items I was told that one of the items was out of stock so I asked to cancel the order. I was told that I couldn't do this even though the in-stock item still had not been shipped.
Legally I am entitled to a full refund (including delivery charges):
I then recieve and email telling me they have cancelled the out of stock item and when I try to phone them there is no answer.
I keep coming back to Forbidden Planet International, just because they tend to offer such good deals and variety on graphic novels, but every time I order with them (always preorders), my item is delayed, which is understandable, nearly all these things are published in the States and as everyone is aware release dates can be pushed back, but I am not informed. I know it is not a hug website and I imagine it runs on a relative skeleton crew, but surely if a website of this calibre can be created, then why cannot there be some sort of (even automated) notification system to tell you there has been a delay and an expected release date. They update so many parts of their website (at least weekly!), that it couldn't be much harder to let their (once) loyal customers what the deal is. I don't mind waiting longer, really I don't, but I need to be told that I am waiting and if possible, why I am waiting longer! Once I have received the order I am waiting on, I am afraid I think this will have to be the last time I use forbiddenplanet.co.uk.
I ordered three comics from this company over a month a go and only received one with no explanation of when I would receive the other two. Or why I have been charged for shipping for three items when I've only received one?
I have sent email inquiries to this company but no answers have still been forthcoming. How difficult can it be to explain the situation to a customer? In my opinion, ignoring customers is really the most cowardice action a company can take.
This is the worst online shopping experience I have ever encountered and that's saying something from a person who orders everything online 99% of the time (including groceries) and have done so for well over the last ten or more years.
Btw, I live in England so there's no logical reason this should have taken this long.
I will never order from this company ever again!
Bought a limited edition signed book. Took a while to arrive. I didn't realise it wasn't a stock item, which was why it was delayed. However I was kept up to date with delivery etc. and it arrived very well packaged, safe and sound. I am happy to recommend Forbidden Planet.
Selvom det kommer "helt" fra England er det utroligt, at fragten kan være så hurtig - SELVOM DER VAR GRATIS LEVERING!
Fik min pakke sendt Torsdag og havde den Tirsdag. Det ville sikkert have gået hurtigere, hvis weekenden ikke var der. Jeg er fuld tilfreds!
